"Now modern Tuscan cooking has arrived on Wall Street at Etrusca, located at 53 Stone Street — a cobbled Dutch alleyway dating to the 1600s known more for its gastropubs and pizzerias than for fine dining." - Robert Sietsema

Visited on the soft opening and enjoyed the new addition to Stone street. Beef tartare’s texture was spot on. Slight citrus tone with grated salted egg yolk was pleasant and different to the French style I am accustomed too. Perfectly l’dente rigatoni with a solid sausage ragu. Anchovies with a fresh salsa verde featuring Calabrian chillies, muted in heat and great with bread. Fabulous service within a rustic setting. Great start. Looking forward to visiting again. Welcome to the neighbourhood and best of luck.

Incredible food! The flavors are incredibly intricate and yet totally envelop you from the first bite. Amazingly curated wine list, super cozy atmosphere…truly the ideal dinner experience!!!

Such an amazing meal at Etrusca. The feeling of the restaurant is so nice and it’s beautifully designed. We sat in the back area which adds another layer of coziness. Food was delicious, the pastas were heaven. We had a wine that we were told is the Executive Chef’s cousins wine from Italy, and it paired so well with the meal. You can tell there is a lot of heart and deep family history in the food and drinks, and it’s a real pleasure to experience and be welcomed into that.

We had most delicious dinner here last night with some friends. The restaurant is super warm & cozy, really inviting with lit candles all around. The food was incredible. Even the salad was special. The lamb was a real show stopper, very tender with warm spices & some sweetness. The ragu pasta tasted as if some nonna from Italy had come to New York and made it herself, it really hit the spot. We also shared dishes which I think is the vibe. An awesome, tasty experience from people who obviously love & care about creating delicious food. Strong fancy cocktails too. Looking forward to going back.

This place is amazing. The wine really steals the show. Although I very much enjoyed the walnut ravioli. A home run for date night. 12/10.

I have followed Elisa on instagram for a while and was lucky enough to attend some of her pop up dinner parties in NYC. I always wanted to visit her restaurant in Italy so was delighted to hear she’d opened a new spot Downtown. The vibe is beautiful and the wine selection is top notch. We had a bottle from her cousin’s vineyard and it was exquisite. The food was outstanding. We had a bit of everything and you can’t go wrong, from the homemade focaccia and pastas to the salads, starters and desserts. Happy to make this my new regular spot :)

Best dish was the beef tartare with the added lemon zest for brightness and acidity but then it went downhill from there. The bone marrow was heavily salted. The spaghetti dish was undercooked and hard- some of the pasta was even stuck together. One of the servers asked if it was "too al dente for me" which was insulting, I've been to Italy many times and it was undercooked. Not to mention that is poor service to insult customers' palate. The rabbit is swimming in rosemary with fried rosemary, and the batter was undercooked. I left a trail of all the uncooked batter face up spread out for the servers to see if they would notice. A nice concept, poor execution overall. Drinks were nicely made and strong and the restaurant had a lovely ambience. I was very disappointed as it was on The Eater and Time Out with a wonderful piece.

Stupendous decor, menu, cocktails and service...we loved every minute of our experience. The gorgeous chicory salad and perfectly executed lamb chops were highlights. Service was a cut above and delightful, which made the meal even more pleasant. Kudos to the chef and team!

Yelp
Nestled amongst loud pubs and bars on Stone street, Etrusca is a hidden gem of Italian food. Instead of basic dishes that can be found elsewhere in NYC, unique combinations of pasta, florals, and seafood reign supreme for a tasty and memorable experience. Word to the wise: ask your server for recommendations!

Yelp
Amazing food, service and ambience. Maccheroni Limone e Lavanda and Spaghetti Dell'Orto were great!

Yelp
This spot seem to pop up out of nowhere but it's a lovely, sophisticated addition to sometimes raucous Stone Street. (Ulysses, Mad Dog, et. al., are fun but can get repetitive.) The menu is spare and skews toward modern interpretations of Italian classics. We sat at the bar and enjoyed a bottle of biodynamic wine, a salad and a plate of ragu. Both of the dishes had some kind of experimental flair that made them a bit more interesting. I especially liked the generous meat and sage in the sauce that gave it a botanical edge. For the price point, I can't say that the food knocked my socks off. But I loved the peaceful ambience that almost made me forget where I was. I will definitely return, if not for the food then at least for the excellent wine and service.

Yelp
Somehow found this place on Resy and yesterday was their soft open. The beef tartare was rustic, anchovies in salsa verde with Calabrian chili were the perfect combination. The midollo osseo roasted marrow bones were flavored well with enough marrow for the toast. I also enjoyed the lumache Al ragu, perfectly Al dente with the fresh oregano coming through. Looking forward to trying more dishes next time!

Yelp
Really bizarre experience. From missing drinks to stale bread and forgotten pasta, the whole dinner service was off. Oh you want more stale bread? I'll leave it here at the far end of the table for you. Did you want your appetizer plates cleared? I'll take some but leave the rest. You'll need something to stare at while you wait an hour between your appetizer and main entree. Our mediocre dinner was topped off by the frumpy manager lady calling us confused and confronting us about why we were unhappy after dropping the check. We were unhappy because passive aggressive service aside, the food just was not good! Weak charcuterie, bland pasta, and a ridiculous wait for food is not a winning combination. Go elsewhere.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely new addition to the neighborhood. Great wine selection, great attentive service, cozy ambiance. Try the lavender pasta - I went back for it twice already - still craving it again :). Super talented chef.

Yelp
What a lovely little Italian restaurant tucked away in FiDi. The cocktails and food are were delicious, the food elegant and impressive (get the lamp chops!), and the restaurant nice and cozy. Perfect date night restaurant with great service :)

Yelp
We came here for a business lunch and waited 40 min for our food. We had meetings at work we had to return to, so we asked for the check and the food to just be boxed up since we still hadn't received the meals. The waiter told us it was a "sit down restaurant" hence not a problem it took this long... ummmm LOL. Anyway, eating the pasta and sandwich at our desks, the food was "fine."

Yelp
Of the many overpriced Italian restaurants in Manhattan, you can feel free to skip this one. My party entered the practically empty restaurant with a reservation and we were given the worst table in the restaurant. An awkwardly shaped high top right between the entryway and the bar. I requested to move due to high tops being an unfriendly choice for those of us with back issues, but the hostess/waitress would not move us because it was their only table for three and they had several parties with reservations and hour later. When we left an hour later, they still had several empty tables and a group of three seated at a regular table. They also apparently had a backroom near the bathroom that was entirely empty. The best thing I ordered was a glass of chilled red wine, however after a sip or two I noticed mystery stuff floating in the glass. I received a replacement glass and assurance that it was just wax that they used to seal the bottle. The pastas were around $30 each, and very ungenerous portions. My husband's spaghetti dish was far beyond al dente, and essentially almost uncooked. My husband and friend enjoyed the bone marrow. We were also served cold dinner rolls with no oil or vinegar. It's hard for me to leave an Italian restaurant unhappy, but Etrusca made it happen.

Yelp
It was pretty nice overall, I would go again, but there were several negative points that they can improve on. I saw Sietsema's review on Eater and jumped on an evening rez. The Bone Marrow and Anchovy starters were really excellent. Unusual and interesting additions to both. We could have skipped La Tur - it is a nice creamy cheese but nothing super special despite the cocoa honey. The maccheroni pasta was excellent, a lot of very interesting subtle flavors. Sietsema described it as "laying down in a spring meadow" and I agree lol. The spaghetti was a miss really, just absurdly spicy so you couldn't actually taste the pine-nuts or other interesting promised botanical whatnots. The cocktails were very nice but a little uninspired (just standard negroni, martini offerings). Would have been cool to have the chef's botanical skills go into something funky. The desert was a miss as well unfortunately, kinda dry cake. The ambiance was cute and intimate, the staff a little unfriendly. Would go again, for a simple cocktail and the maccheroni. Paid low 200s for 2 people (3x starters, 2 mains, shared dessert, 2x cocktails).

Yelp
Truly a beautiful new addition to Stone Street! Endless variety of delicious wines & a fabulous menu by Chef Elisa Da Prato of Italy. Perfect for date night!

Yelp
I made a reservation with Resy for 8 people, but had to cancel it just a few hours later. Typically, restaurants that charge for cancellation clearly say that there will be a charge for cancellation. But this restaurant hides that fact by saying there might be a charge for cancellation in small letters. They charged me $200 for cancelation. I emailed them to ask them if they can Waive the fee and I will make sure to dine at the place in future, but they did not respond. This is not how to build a loyal customer base. Very disappointing. BTW I had dined there before. Very average

Yelp
Cozy and ambient, but food is subpar; pasta was undercooked and breading on pigeon did not complement its taste.

Luigi B.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and pass on this place. Very overpriced and the dishes are subpar at best. None of the four dishes I tried was worth going back for. One of the pasta dishes (macceroni limone) was overcooked and essentially completely flavorless. Service is also not good.
