"Euclid Records was founded in Saint Louis in 1983; their sister store was established in NOLA near the banks of the Mississippi River in 2010. The sprawling two-story space is home to an impressive collection of old gems and new releases, with a stretch of jazz and blues by the register and comedy records in the rafters. I scored a copy of Funkadelic’sOne Nation Under a Groove, but pined for countless other albums. Definitely reserve some extra space in your carry-on." - ByAliza Abarbanel

Google
Very clean, well kept store plenty to choose from and plenty of space to roam around and search. Everything was well organized by artists and genres. There is an upstairs too, with tons of affordable options in bins on the floor for 1$ & 2$ on both levels. Staff was friendly and in a great area with several surrounding shops.

Google
I came here for the first time last week and I absolutely will be back! Amazing selection and some really affordable prices on a lot of great albums. I can't wait to go back and buy more than I should!

Amanda Govic

Google
Very nice World section, which is hard to find in the US. We always find gems here!

Google
Very nice store, with a great record collection and the staff was great. I will be back. Old school is coming back.

Google
I love Record Exchange and Vintage Vinyl but this might be the best record store in St Louis. The selection and the categorization and organization are fantastic!

I truly used to love frequenting Euclid Records. Their selection is great, and they always have an awesome selection of new releases. Last weekend though, changed my mind. My friend and I were waiting for a table at Sushi Station down the street, so we decided to walk to Euclid to browse. On Saturday nights, they close at 8pm. We arrived at 7:40 just to see if there was anything we wanted. There was one other group inside when we got there. At 7:43, we were looking at the used LPs, and a worker came from downstairs. She told us “just to let you know, we close in 5 minutes.” We had 17 minutes to browse, so we just thought she was reading time wrong. My friend picked up an LP intending to buy. We continued to browse and I was also going to buy a $51 record. The other group left around 7:50. Right when they left, we were near the back browsing, and the lady worker was turning off the lights on us, basically forcing us out. With 10 minutes left before closing. I’ve worked in customer service, and have never forced customers out before closing time. They treated us like a nuisance, and we put our LPs back. I will visit other local record stores who don’t treat their customers like an annoyance over Euclid from now on. Giving them two stars because their selection is great, and before this, I had amazing experiences with the staff.

Google
found new Britney Spears Vinyls that I wasn’t able to find anywhere else. Great music playing. Place is a nice vibe. Staff is very welcoming.

Google
I used to frequent this place, friendly staff and wonderful used cd selection alongside the records. Recently though I was made aware that people are forced from the store before closing time. I will not be returning if the closing staff continues to treat customers as a nuisance.

Yelp
Solid selection but it doesn't make up for the poor customer service. Well organized but very low trade in value (even for sealed items). This place is okay but i'd much rather recommend vintage vinyl. I'd say this places biggest downfall is the staffs attitude towards their own customers, snobby is a good word to use

Yelp
Stopped in here to pickup a gift card and found my favorite Stanley Clarke album. Euclid Records has been around for a long time. They moved to Gore in Webster Groves a while ago. They have old vinyl and new. Some CD's and every type of music there is. Two floors of amazing tunes. Great staff there to help. You can play records before you buy. Convenient parking on street or in back. Enjoy!!

Timira M.

Yelp
I stumbled across this place randomly waiting for another business to open for lunch. So glad I came to this place! Immediately when I walked in Derrick greeted me with a friendly upbeat tune and began telling me details about where I could find specific genres. He knows his stuff so well and considering the fact I was born in the early 90s half of these records are older than me I was clueless walking into this place. He let me know the difference between record players and any questions I had he more than happily answered them. I'm considering buying a record player now just to come back and buy some albums. He also let me know they buy record players and records from others. This is a huge plus considering my grandpa has a bunch of albums he doesn't use just sitting around. I'm going to let him know about this place. Until next time...

Yelp
As record shops go, Euclid is spectacular from an "eye test" perspective. As a result, their prices are slightly high, especially on more mainstream titles. That said, the vibe there is pretty good, and their breadth and depth of vinyl are the best in town, by far. Which means you'll often find gems there at the same higher price as more mainstream releases -- IMHO, the quintessential record store experience! They do RSD bigger and better than anybody. Their dollar bins are better than most. Customer service is serviceable, no more/less. Speaking of which, Jeff Tweedy (IYKYK) worked there long ago in a previous life. When it comes to buying back your stuff -- or even just seeking trade -- Euclid's guiding principle is clearly some version of "buy low, sell high." I guess "buy fair, sell fair" doesn't pay that Gore Avenue rent. ***** for buyers. ** for sellers. (ie, go elsewhere.) 3.5 stars overall.

Yelp
Vinyl is back! I've revived my pioneer turntable, Sansui receiver and Teac reel to reel. Pulled out that old Peaches album case and cranked out 100 watts of rock jams that blows any iPhone off to another planet! Euclid Records is a throwback to a classic time....great music played in the grooves! Great reminiscing here and I bought several classics to add to my collection!

Brian B.

Yelp
The best cd/record store in St Louis, bar none. Well organized new and used products with the bulk of therein floor devoted to rock music, including local and independent artists. CDs, LPs, and even 45s!! The upstairs level has a variety of genres, from folk and country to blues, should, classical, easy listening, children's music ... and more. Staff are friendly and knowledgable. The store also has a small collection of music-related books and periodicals. Prices for used merchandise are fair; there are bargains to be had. New vinyl seems to be on the high side ... but they sell a lot, so maybe I'm just out of touch with the current market. I primarily buy used LPs and their prices are lower than I find online (eBay, Amazon, etc.). Anyway, iy costs nothing to browse, but don't be surprised to find yourself walking out with some gems purchased for your collection. Street parking, and a free municipal parking structure behind the building.

Yelp
Really good selection of harder to find albums. Makes me want to come back. Customer service makes me not want to. I returned a album that was warped. They wanted to know if they could use a flatter on it. I said I prefer not. Asked for store credit and he said "yeah that's all we offer" Rudely under his breath yet I heard it clearly. Another employee went by us with a stack of albums from the barley working listening station that I guess someone didn't refile. I hate that also makes it hard to find stuff but I certainly would not do like him and throw the stack angrily against the wall. Wonder why I got a wrapped record? Am I being too critical? I don't know but I do know it's not the face I would want to put out to customers. Also I wouldn't tell a customer that we don't take albums that "Let's say are less than loved" by thier owners." Then act like a ass and slam down the hand scanner and toss my refund card with my huge $10.90 cents across the counter because I wanted the huge $10 trade they were giving me for 3 cds. There are other record stores in st.Louis I can spend my money at and you know what? They never talk rude to me no matter how many questions I ask or what trade I bring in. So Euclid records it may not matter to you that one customer walked out saying I'll never come again but I'm still saying it.

Kevin G.

Yelp
Visited Euclid Records again on my birthday recently. It has become my favorite local record store. They have music from every band whose music I've wanted to buy on vinyl, and if there's something you want that's out of stock, they can get it pretty fast if the distributor has it. Super nice and helpful staff too, and they're always playing good music you usually haven't heard before. Big thanks to Aaron at Euclid Records who helped me jump our car after I left the headlights on during a recent visit to Euclid Records. Saved my pregnant wife and I a long wait for roadside assistance on a cold night. Thanks again!

Ashley R.

Yelp
Love this record store! Good selection and fair prices. Friendly staff! I had enjoyed the NOLA location so I knew it was a must for my stop in St. Louis. Will go back if I'm in the area.

Lucky E.

Yelp
If you want some of the worst customer service you've ever experienced in any type of business from snotty, elitist hipsters, this is the place to go! Have fun! But if you want good customer service in a welcoming shopping environment, go elsewhere! The pricing is very inconsistent on used stuff and the selection of new CDs of classic country is rather lacking and spotty. The jazz record selection upstairs is good. There are at least two restrooms, but customers aren't allowed to use them. In 2020, the excuse was "because of the pandemic." Now the snotty hipsters' response is "we can't handle it." Yeah, you can't handle my money either! I'll never again step foot into this extremely unwelcoming business as they obviously have more than enough customers and don't need more revenue. Shop instead at Vintage Vinyl or directly with the artists!

Criag M.

Yelp
It's a nice clean store with a great selection, and an amazing selection of Jazz upstairs. Having said that, the are on a scale of 10 being the worst, They are easily 8/10 overpriced. There's no better example than their new arrivals. A Used record that might be found at any other store for $8 - $10 will be priced at $15 - $20. I can't help it but laugh out loud at some of the extremes. Check Discogs dot com and the average prices and wonder how they get away with it. I still stop in occasionally because on a rare occasion I'll find something at a reasonable price, or in one case a double LP priced incorrectly as a single. They also have a great selection of represses but again, those too, are way overpriced. Check Amazon and you'll see what I mean.

Jason V.

Yelp
I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't been in their new location yet until today. (and they moved there nearly a few years ago....) But I have been to Euclid Records in the past, and its never a letdown. Its almost an average record store, but with a few differences here and there. They do have CDs and tapes, in addition to vinyl. Like their old location, they have a separate section devoted to jazz (Kenny G and Miles Davis-type jazz) upstairs. As far as 45s, they have them neatly organized in file cabinet-style shelves. Organized by era, genre and a few other areas, that is. They do keep up with new vinyl releases as they proudly display the latest in front of the store. One other thing that sets Euclid apart from other record shops is they are also a label, in which they literally press for local acts. Be sure to give them a listen; I purchased a few of those records. You'll be amazed by some St. Louis talent!

Andy B.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to shop for music. Prices are good and they seem to have a much better selection of used CDs than anywhere else I've been in the area.

Monty S.

Yelp
I must admit the selection is great, but the customer service is AWFUL. Asked to look at an OPEN record to verify the color before purchasing, and the associate insisted it was factory sealed and couldn't even be bothered to listen to me-I ultimately put my purchases down and left. There are too many other buying options these days-I'm not spending my hard earned money someplace where the customer isn't treated right. Messaged the owner and got no response. That tells me everything I need to know.

Ryan N.

Yelp
Both people working at this store we're very rude. I was just trying to buy a record. They couldn't even be bothered to look it up. Once they said they ordered a record for me but when I came back the next time they hadn't even ordered it and just wasted my time. I used to love this record store. It's disappointing to see how poorly they treat regular customers now.

Kyle N.

Yelp
Fantastic store place to find hidden gems. best record store in st.louis by far. Very nice staff. This is definitely st.louis's best record store by far.

Tony A.

Yelp
After a 36 year hiatus, I am once again collecting and listening to vinyl records. We are very fortune in St. Louis to have several very fine record stores. From my experience thus far, Euclid is the best. I state this based on their vast selection, and helpfulness of staff. I was able to purchase hard to find classic rock, R&B and Jazz. I would give them a 5 stars if not for the major oversight of placing their huge Sinatra selection in an area that is knee high and not easy to view and flip through. Other than that sin, this place is great!

William E.

Yelp
I live in Illinois but still happily cross the river to go to Euclid Records. Officially my favorite record store! Be prepared to find new releases on vinyl along with that band you loved in college but hadn't thought about in a decade.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
My friends, this is the cool place to be! Euclid Records has been rocking Webster Groves since 1981, and there's no end in sight! More than just a record store, Euclid Records has an active blog and also has fun events every now and then. In fact, it was at one of these such events that my fiance and I really clicked. A few years ago Euclid featured Punk Rock Night, playing punk music and punk films. We watched Rock'N"Roll High School together, and the rest is history! We've been patrons of the place ever since. Check out an image of the projector screen they use to show movies in the photos! Euclid Records is broken in two. In the front half you'll find the register, new cds, used cds, and dvds. Most of their cds are rock, but you'll find every genre available. Remember, they can order anything your little heart desires! The walls are covered in awesome music art posters and the musty smell of old records makes you feel so darn cool just for being there that you'll want to keep on coming back. In the back you'll find records, records, and more records! I cannot tell you how cool this place is! JUST GO!!!! You will find every type of music here, and don't forget to check out the dollar bins! Be sure to look along the walls and in the corners in the back half for framed artwork that will rock your world! The environment of this store is really sweet. Want to browse anonymously? That's fine, they'll leave you be. Want to chat away the hours? Boy, did you pick the right place to wander into! The staff is cool yet nice, and there is no air of superiority among them. I've seen every type of person in Euclid Records, and I can guarantee you that you'll feel right at home. So go ahead, support a local St. Louis shop and stop on by!

Charles S.

Yelp
After I left another store, I slipped in here thinking my digging was done.. SIKE!! I purchased 5 more albums and snatched some cool stickers for my laptop. The staff greeted me with a big smile and held my previous purchases while I was digging. If you're ever in the area and you're looking for some great quality albums stop in, I'm sure they'll have something for you to snatch up..

Kat G.

Yelp
What a find! We had no idea they were there or that we NEEDED some LPs! So much to choose from. A well organized store with all the goodies. 45s, LPs, cassettes and CDs.

Andrew M.

Yelp
I had a great experience buying records here. Their inventory was VERY organized and the staff was ready to help. They walked upstairs and found what I was looking for twice during my visit. I will definitely come again.

Michael G.

Yelp
They have relocated to 19 N Gore Avenue; not far from the previous location. Great place for all your needs, used, new, etc; in a beautiful two-floor environment. I've been to many of these type stores, and Euclid ranks at the top. Top notch customer service by happy and knowledgeable folks. Check it out. Not far from central St. Louis.

Daniella B.

Yelp
Every time we're in St. Louis we end up at Euclid. The first time we came, we were disappointed by the selection and then it we realized that there was an entire upstairs area that has probably twice as many records as the downstairs area! The selection is huge and the staff is helpful!

Allison B.

Yelp
I love how record stores in St. Louis differ in personality, but they can all be worthy of five stars in their own way. Euclid Records has a completely different vibe from Vintage Vinyl and some of the louder record stores I've visited across the country. Euclid feels more like a library - a library of awesome. It's not quiet by any means - music is constantly playing - but the music isn't as in-your-face as it is in other stores. There are all kinds of bins and wall shelves and nooks in which you can find good music. While that can be overwhelming and possibly in annoying in another store, at Euclid, it's charming. When I go, I feel like I'm digging through my uber-cool older sister's locked trunk of CDs and albums (If I had an older sister, that is. I turned my younger sister onto Pearl Jam, so maybe I'm the cool older sister? I don't know. This is getting way too meta for a review.). At Euclid, it just feels like a treasure hunt for things you've been searching for forever or things you didn't even realize that you wanted. No, not "wanted." NEEDED. Random analogy: Vintage Vinyl = The Misfits Euclid Records = Elvis Costello in the early '80s I heart them both during my various moods. Big-time bonus: Euclid Records doesn't reek of incense. That's worth three stars, alone.

Bombay S.

Yelp
I have to give this place a 4 star for the ambience and the great selection they have. But it gets a 1 star for prices. Way too high! As someone who buys records from across the spectrum - garage sales, Ebay, Discogs, Retail - I can tell you these guys have figured out how to cash in big time on the vinyl resurgence hype and the whole "local business" hogwash! I am all for supporting local businesses but not when they are overpriced like this to ripoff the consumer! Here's an example - I found 2 identical pressings of a Blue Note Jazz album that's not entirely hard to find online and a VG+ copy of said album can be procured for under $20 shipped, quite easily. Euclid had these priced at $30 and $45. Now I was hard pressed to tell the difference between these 2 knowing well that they were pressings from the same era. From a visual examination I would qualify both copies as "average" which would make them worth about 5 or 8 bucks in the marketplace. I tried to point this out to the person at the front desk (helpful gal) but she could not really articulate the reasoning behind these prices. At one point she pretty much said, the owner decides on the prices and they have no say in it! Again, the place itself is good - clean, well organized, good selection and a great vibe for a record store. But it appears to cater to yuppies looking to hang out at cool record stores than to serious buyers who know a thing or 2 about pricing of records. I prefer the Vintage Vinyl's of the world that may not be the cleanest or coolest place around but they are more reasonable with their prices and have a great staff who know a thing or 2 about their music!

Davy G.

Yelp
Holy cow. A dangerous place if you've got a strict budget. This is not the place you want to go if you're in the market for a bunch of $3 bargains, but if there's a Max Roach record you really need and you're willing to pay what it's worth, Euclid Records is the best St. Louis has to offer. Incredible selection of soul & jazz LPs on the 2nd floor. Really eye-popping stuff -- records you don't see just anywhere. A must-visit for serious collectors.

Christian K.

Yelp
Best record store in the Lou! I used to be a huge advocate for Vintage Vinyl, and I still get pretty giddy when I do make a trip to the Loop on a rare occasion. However, I recently made a stop at Euclid Records for a local music showcase, and I now see that this place is my music store of choice. Something that Vintage Vinyl lacks is a strong selection. I know that might sound odd, considering its size, but the place has been picked clean of most of the gems that I am in constant search for. On Sunday, I wandered Euclid Records between acts and became overwhelmed with grief, knowing that I could spend hundreds of dollars that day without much issue. And a younger, less responsible Christian would have done so! What a drag it is getting old . . . Also, I really like the location. Webster Groves is an area that I haven't explored a great deal, but if I had to live in the burbs, it would be my area of choice. And patrons seem to appreciate the location, too. Despite a projected move this spring, Euclid Records still plans on staying in the Webster Groves area, which I think is fantastic. I get the vibe from ER that they truly appreciate their clientele. It doesn't quite have the hipster thing going. During the showcase, they were handing out free drinks and offering all sorts of great deals. When shopping locally this Christmas, one might consider checking out Euclid Records. The cd and record selection is great, so it's the perfect stop for any music lover on one's list! Avoid Best Buy and FYE this Christmas and patronize Euclid Records.

Brian W.

Yelp
I have generally have had decent experiences in this store but this past weekend has done it for me. We went to return an unopened CD that my wife had bought, she didn't think about neither of us not having CD players in our vehicles, so we were informed it would only be store credit only and that the receipt states this. This was the first time attitude showed. Show I spent a little while deciding on a vinyl record to buy and when I did, there would be a $1.50 credit on a receipt, not in their computer. The guy behind the counter was so arrogant and acted like he was better then everyone when I asked if this credit would be in their computer in case I lost the receipt with the credit. the look he gave me was like me was insulting. Im sorry, I lose reipts or the get washed so I wanted to make sure my whopping $1.50 credit wasn't going to disappear. In all honesty, I waste $1.50 all the time, but if this guys attitude with me was more professional, then I wouldn't have been so upset. So buyer beware, high prices and at least one person that works there is an ass.

DC R.

Yelp
Very happy to discover Record Exchange and Euclid here in my hometown. honestly, why go to overpriced Vintage Vinyl when you've got these two. Make the drive, it's worth it. Every record store I walk into, I always check the R&B section first as a litmus test. And Euclid passes with flying colors. I brought five records (one EXTREMELY hard to find Jackson 5 LP alongwith another J5 classic, Isaac Hayes and two from the dollar bin) for $27. I've gotten better price deals elsewhere but when it comes to the value and quality that I was searching for, I was very happy to swipe the credit card. I had a long and great first-time experience so I'm happy to say: In my lovely Lou, check out Euclid Records and Record Exchange. You'll come away happy.

Hunter M.

Yelp
I came to St. louis to exhibit a few coo, art cars at Webster University(and Venice Cafe!), and just kind of stumbled upon Euclid Records. It caught my eye since I used to live on Euclid Street in Berkelely CA, which had the famous Rather Ripped Records and the original Rasputin Records. Okay, so Euclid Records looked like a place worth stopping at. Great store and friendly, knowledgeable guys working there(owners?). They found a copy of the rare Diga Rythymn Band CD for me and then pointed me towards the vinyl room. Wow! So many jazz LP's, I was in heaven!! I found some great Brazilian jazz LPs and found a few cool LPs in the $1 bins. Overall a superb store, and makes me happy to know that there are a few clean, well-organized, well-stocked record stores out there still. I was saddened last eyar when the legendary Village Music in Mill Valley, CA closed(after 63 years!), but, as the owner John said "At least I out-lasted Tower Records." Cheers to the folks who have Euclid Records. May the vinyl keep on spinning! Hunter M. (Arizona & Mexico)

Yelp
I can't describe how great it is to have such a fantastic record store that not only has a huge selection of vinyl and CDs, but also has the decency to not be located in The Loop. Euclid Records, located right in the heart of Webster Groves is by far my favorite place to purchase music in Saint Louis. The store is not huge, but their physical size does not effect their selection. You will be able to find both used and new vinyl and CDs of all varieties. My wife and I will walk in with no intentions to buy anything and walk out with Fleetwood Mac's "Rumors" and a Fred Astaire album. I've been a huge Beatles fan since grade school and their selection of used Beatles vinyl is always changing. If you're really rich, you can even buy the mint condition Beatles albums they display on the wall. If you've ever seen High Fidelity, it's that kind of record store, but without John Cusack's baditude. No holier-than-thou hipster behind the register silently judging your purchases. Just friendly, helpful, but laid-back staff. Check out Euclid Records. It's a great place and a gem of Saint Louis.

Jake R.

Yelp
Super awesome place with pretty decent prices on most of their selection. If you're lucky, you might stop in when they have a live band playing. I'm a vinyl junky and highly biased, but this place is definitely worth stopping in.

Jason R.

Yelp
One word: Vinyl. If you are visitor to St. Louis and you are looking for a place to do some crate digging this is the place. Euclid's new store in downtown webster is pretty fabulous. Staff has always been extremely helpful and also educating in terms of music. I highly recommend attending a Record Store Day event here. Pricing is right in line with a typical record store. Used Bob Dylan here? Yep. Always. I have also found some good Led Zeppelin albums in the past also.

Brandon M.

Yelp
I made my first trip to Euclid the other day on the recommendation of my uncle. He visited St. Louis on business and took an expensive cab ride out to the store and was raving about the selection. I will second his excitement about Euclid Records selection. I mostly was searching through the bins of used records and their selection of used jazz was incredible. Equally impressive were the used blues and world sections. All the records that I purchased were graded and priced reasonably. There clearly was no insane price gouging going on here. If you want some nice Blue Notes or Prestige pieces, this is the place in St. Louis. I will also say that it appears that they do a limited amount of Ebay and largely put quality product in their store instead of selling it online. I can safely say that Euclid will be a store that I frequent whenever I am in St. Louis.

John B.

Yelp
I live in San Francisco, but grew up in Webster Groves. I recently visited this shop for the first time in quite a while, and was very impressed with both the service AND the selection of new and old vinyl. We have lots of vinyl places in SF, and this one is as good as any of those. In the words of our California Governor, back when he was an actor (or more of one)- "I'll be back."

Stephanie O.

Yelp
So...I kind of have a new obsession. And for once, it has nothing to do with bread pudding or running. I know...shocker! I'm obsessed with The Blind Eyes. Ever since I saw their performance at the Midtown Alley Street Fest, I've been in love. Talk about upbeat pop/rock awesomeness! Think Ludo with less zombie/pterodactyl references. Anyway, when I found out via Twitter that copies of their latest release were in stock at Euclid, I knew I had to pick up a copy for myself. I pulled up to Euclid, found a parking spot on the street, and waltzed in with a goofy hipster grin. I was immediately wowed at the eclectic feel of the place. How strange that a place like this is in Webster Groves! I almost expect it to be in a different part of town, like the Loop, but then I remember that the Loop already has a place like this (Vintage Vinyl). There were lots of CDs, both new and used, and a HUGE selection of vinyl records. I also spotted some listening stations where people can test out the vinyl before they buy it. Pretty cool. Anyway, I grabbed the last copy of The Blind Eyes album, paid, and was on my way. I don't know that I'll frequent this place very often (truthfully, I buy most of my music online nowadays), but next time the urge to have a physical copy of a CD in my hand strikes, I know where I'll go.

Lauren L.

Yelp
Every single time I've wasted my time going in here, it has been a lousy experience. Because of the douche-tastic hipsters that work there. Maybe not ALL of the employees are douches, but the ones that I have encountered are. Yes, they have a great selection of Jazz LPs, which I can definitely appreciate, but the vibe I get in that store just makes it not worth it. Webster Records up the street is almost ALL jazz and the folks that work there are nice as can be. Go there instead if you're looking for jazz. For everything else, dig through the mess at Record Exchange or Vintage Vinyl.

George N.

Yelp
What a place! First off, i knew this place was good, cause of the lack of Neil Diamond/ Barbara Streisand Records to be seen. Aisles upon aisles dedicated to Jazz, Blues and Americana music. And that's the way it should be when it comes to vinyl collecitng. The layout of the store is convenient, neatly organized and stragically hip. This is what every record store dreams to be like. I could spend hours here. Prices were great on the records, well, the ones I enjoy. Store had quality all around and no space fillers to give you the impression that the bulkier the better. They have a good stock of stuff that is popular now. Location is ok. Don;t know if the place fits all too well in the Webster Groves area, but it will do. I prefer this place more than vintage vinyl. come and see! then you can walk over a block to some classy restaurants in the downtown!

Yelp
I don't know anything about the vinyl side, but I don't buy CDs anywhere else (except when I buy them at Vintage Vinyl). I love the nerds who work here, the cds they help me pick out, and the lack of mocking when I asked them if they had the new Straight No Chaser Christmas CD. They got the new Jamie Cullum CD for me from England when I couldn't wait for the US version and charged no premium. I go in for one thing and spend $100 easy, every time, and walk out incredibly happy.

Yelp
A good, clean, well organized fully stocked record store.

Yelp
Euclid is a pretty cool record shop - I pop in from Illinois every few months. What is maddening about the store (and of course, many other stores) is the inconsistent pricing. Last trip, I found a cool record that I wanted - it's a 4 band split 7" called No Control at the Country Club - and was prepared to buy. It's an old hardcore record that doesn't turn up in stores very often, but it isn't rare or hard to get ahold of. Look, I GET that most people, even record people, aren't going to know what some old hardcore record that was barely distro-ed is worth, but to just slap a price on it - in this case, $24.99, is silly. It's a $5-$10 record. Instead, I will order it for $8 shipped on Discogs. Don't believe me, just look it up. Median price on Discogs is $4.47. I would've been *glad* to pay $10 at Euclid, but $24.99? Three times as much? It's easily, very easily, researched. And if it was researched, that's even worse, because the value being marked up by three times it's actual worth is pretty lame. That's the type of thing that makes record shopping these days a poor experience. Euclid is in general a decent store, but beware: anything looking "punk" or "hardcore" may be slapped with a strange price point.

Yelp
It's not a bad place because they have music for just about every genre of music that may interest you, so check them out and see for yourself when you have time. Euclid Records has move several times in the years since I first patronized it, and bought CDs and vinyl records; I patronized it when it actually was on Euclid in the CWE of St. Louis all those years ago. Its current location is much different than its immediately previous location. It's different because it's on two levels. I had gotten used to the location just before this last move and was comfortable and familiar with it, so when I found out about the move, I was disappointed. I have not gone there enough to get familiarized with the new layout and location. I knew where everything was that I wanted and for what interested me. In the new location, I'm not sure anymore. I ask at least once every trip where something is. I spend a little more time looking around this store because of my unfamiliarity of the new layout. In the old location, I would go in to exactly what I wanted, look to see, get it and leave rather quickly and I cannot to that now. When I'm more familiar with this location, I suppose that I can do that again. The selection of what they have hasn't really changed as far as styles of music and the selection of CDs, vinyl records and merchandise. I can still get my CDs of music in French and Spanish, Hard Rock and popular music that I like, and some newer bands and musical groups. They had CDs for some people who played at this years Loufest, too, which impressed me for some reason. They still have new and used CDs, and regular priced and sale priced items.

Yelp
I really like this place, despite it being a little inconvenient for me in terms of location. I absolutely love the collection they have here--I've found quite a number of gems here (definitely more than the other record stores here in St. Louis). In think pricing here is fair...not too expensive but also nothing that would qualify as a steal. They have their inventory available online as well, although what you see online is not necessarily available in-store. If you see something on their site that you like but want to get on the same day, you should probably call to make sure they carry a physical copy in store. All in all, a really solid place that you should visit if you're a collector. Easily one of my favorite records stores in St. Louis.

Yelp
Just visited the newly relocated store (19 N Gore Avenue) as an out of towner. Really welcoming store, and you can never go wrong with a 2 story record shop! Plenty of dollar bin records on the floor, but the good stuff is up in the bins. The bin inventory has money on it, but there are deals to be had if you dig! Staff was nice, vintage listening station is a plus, and plenty of new releases available. A must visit!

Yelp
I was going to write an update, but nothing's changed compared to my last review. I just wanted another excuse to say that Euclid now has a location in New Orleans! They are so rad!

Yelp
Very nice vinyl/CD store. I love the fact that they have CD listening carousels to preview lots of new CDs that are for sale. Nice selection of Jazz too!

Yelp
Cool old stuff. You'll want to look through this place for a while. Definitely worth checking out sometime! If you are looking for a new activity it could be the place for you.
