Old rustic ambience. Food cooked to quality perfection. Veal Marsala must try if you’re a veal fan. Service was impeccable. The restaurant is house made into a restaurant. It’s down a little tiny road. Very interesting. There is a parking lot and barely no sign telling you it’s even a restaurant. On the upper floor of the house there is a bakery that makes homemade desserts, yum. Two separate checks. We had a very unique experience. We will definitely return in the future.

What a classic place to eat! It reminds me of the supper clubs we have back in Wisconsin. My wife had the Key Lime Grouper and it was amazing! I tried their famous Pepper Steak. I typically prefer a buttery filet mignon so this Pepper Steak with its peppery crust and brandy butter was a very nice diversion from the norm. I’m not sure I would choose it again next time over trying their fillet but it was very good. After dinner we went upstairs to the Haye Loft. What a great bar/dessert room. It is the perfect way to finish the evening after a great meal.

5 Stars! A Gem of Longboat Key! Nestled upstairs, The Haye Loft offers a funky and fun atmosphere that stands out as the best vibe on Longboat Key. It's not just a dining spot; it's an experience. The desserts, housemade daily, are a bountiful delight with the chocolate cake, peanut butter pie, and brownies deserving a special mention! The magic of the place is further enhanced by Georgette, who not only provides insightful tours and history of the restaurant but also guides patrons through the tempting dessert options at the dessert bar. The service is nothing short of excellent, carried out by seasoned servers whose tenure spans years, and sometimes, decades. This continuity of staff adds a layer of warmth and familiarity to the service that is rare to find. In summary, The Haye Loft is not just about great food; it's about the magical experience that begins the moment you step in. This place should have 5 stars. Our orders: Shrimp Rolls Hummus Cesar Salad Peppered Steak Blacked Shrimp + Dessert

Absolutely excellent food and atmosphere. There is a reason they have been around since the ‘70’s. This is a gourmet meal in a slightly relaxed atmosphere. Service was impeccable! Food fresh, delicious and good sized portions. Full bar and wine “cellar”. Recommend without hesitation!

Took the wife and kids here for dessert. Some of the best home made pies and cakes we’ve ever had. They offered French press coffees to complement the dessert, and it was the perfect combination to serve as a family night cap.

What a disappointment! We took a very long ride out to dine and while the place was charming and we loved the history, the night was a bust. We had a waiter that was totally checked out. We sat in a corner and waited forever once our food was ordered. After 30 minutes our salads came and I found my Ceasar inedible. The romaine wasn't crisp and was drowning in very salty dressing. The waiter never noticed I wasn't eating or checked on us. I set the full plate on the side of the table where he could see it and he swung by picked it up and took it away without ever asking if there was a problem. We then waited another 20 minutes and food finally came out. The Smoked Salmon and Crepe plate was excellent but the Pasta and Shrimp, while pretty, was not seasoned well. My friends cauliflower puree was like goo. The only inquiry the waiter made was directed to the gentleman at our table, asking about his $50 steak. I'm am OK spending a lot of money on a beautiful dining experience, but I expect a fine dining waiter that cares enough to see if we are content. This waiter was not present, he barely interacted with us and all in all it made for a very poor night at the lovely little place on the Key.

We went in early December on a weeknight, we made a reservation, it turned out. It wasn’t really that busy, about half full perhaps. We were seated immediately at an intimate table near the window in the far room room. Very quaint dining room. Formal. Our waiter was very attentive. We got a bottle of wine. It was a small kitchen out in the dining room, where they would prepare Caesar salad and some flambé dishes. My wife’s cousin recommended this place, the duck was highly recommended, I had it, and it was absolutely delicious. After dinner, we went upstairs to the separate dessert room and got a great presentation on the desserts that they had that night. I had the Keylime pie. It was delicious. A little Baileys on the rocks has a nightcap.

I have come here a couple times and this is my favorite restaurant. This time I came for Christmas Eve and we made a reservation but couldn’t get into the regular dining hall cause 5 parties were before us however I didn’t think that was fair because we had reserved that spot whoever so we got near the bar. I believe the workers were setting up for a Christmas party however they were really loud I couldn’t even hear my boyfriend or focus at dinner. The host and her friends definitely had a lot to drink and were there definitely killed the vibe of the holiday meal for us. Our server was great had no issues with the service or food just the atmosphere.
