"Eureka Compass Vegan Food, a grocery store and pop-up space in St. Paul’s Hamline-Midway neighborhood aims to host one community dinner each month. January’s will benefit chef Sean Sherman’s organization NĀTIFS that works to reestablish Indigenous foodways. The deadline to reserve meals is this Wednesday at noon. Those interested can pick their spread up from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 30th. Last month’s dinner raised $2,100 for Zedé Harut’s Rebellion Relief Mutual Aid Fund and served 190 people." - Alicia Banaszewski

"The main focus of this round of pay-what-you-can dinners out of Eureka Compass Vegan Food in Hamline-Midway is to raise funds for The Rebellion Relief Fund operated by Zedé Harut aka Holistic Heaux. The menu looks amazing: curried chickpea shepherd’s pie with roasted squash, root vegetable purée, collards and black eye peas, citrus cranberry kale salad, roasted yukon gold potatoes and button mushrooms, and rustic corn drop biscuits. Gift yourself a tasty plant-based feast and know your money is helping others at the same time. Besides, isn’t giving what the holidays are all about?" - Alicia Banaszewski

One of my favorite spots to hit up when I visit the Cities. Those croissants are DELICIOUS! The bodega is expending every time I go with amazing vegan snacks I’ve never seen anywhere else in Minnesota. Check their Instagram as the menu changes often, and they are great about updating what they have throughout the day as stuff can sell out quick.

I absolutely love this spot and the owner. This year marks my 2nd year attending the "Pay What You Can" ThanksVegan Dinner. When I arrived, there was a short line of folks waiting patiently as the owner Colin scooped up plate after plate. Always reminding us that he was doing his best to complete the orders. He cooked all of the food and served it as well. Eureka is a small bodega located in St Paul approximately 25 minutes from my home in Maple Grove. You can find all types of plant based items in the bodega to purchase as well as daily menu specials. Pay what you can Vegan Dinner at Eureka Compass hit the spot. The owner is a blessing for doing this. The food is definitely made with love. Menu: 👉🏾Cornbread 👉🏾Greens 👉🏾Herbed Potatoes and Carrots 👉🏾Garbanzo and Root Veggie Fritter 👉🏾Squash and Black Bean Casserole 👉🏾Pumpkin Scone

Colin, the owner of Eureka Compass Vegan Foods, is the sort of person who goes out of their way to serve his customer base. His gluten free scones are amazing and never boring or tasteless. He is responsive to customer feedback and requests for different flavors etc. Thank you so much fro bringing such an amazing business to the Hamline Midway.

I'm not even a vegan, but I really like the food here. The pizza pocket (pictured) is my favorite, along with the jackfruit & bean taco. The space needs work, but the owner Colin has big plans to renovate it and serve the neighborhood he has lived in for 10+ years. He doesn't have a big group of investors behind him, he's doing this one step at a time so there will be growing pains along the way. Check out his Kickstarter campaign to see Colin's vision for the restaurant.

I just moved to this neighborhood from Oklahoma almost two months ago and this was a welcome sight to my eyes and and a welcome taste in my mouth. The menu changes everyday so you don’t get forced into a normal routine by getting the same food every time. When i went there I got a kale scone, which was delicious. It tasted so earthy, like something humans were made to eat. I also I had gotten this delicious mixed veggies with garbanzo beans and it was just perfect! The prices are also INCREDIBLY FAIR. Also have to say, the owner is an amazing human being. He’s as friendly as they come, and cares so much for his community and the earth we live on. He composts and doesn’t waste food. I just adore him. Please support this Restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Fantastic location with a wonderful staff who genuinely seem happy to see every customer. As a non vegan I was skeptical if I would enjoy the food. I was blown away with the magical goodies I enjoyed. The tacos are a sure bet for a meal. Then indulge in one of the beautiful pastries calling your name upon entering the store.
