Eureka! - Review - Mountain View - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"The exclamation in Eureka!’s name is a good representation of the fun injected into every element of the dining experience there. Stop in for their very well-priced “Hoppy Hour” and get a massive handle of beer for just $5.50, along with an order of giant fried mac and cheese balls. At dinner, get the Dorito-crusted fried shishito peppers (they’ll temporarily stain your fingers, but it’s worth it), then move on to one of the deliciously unique burgers, like the Fresno fig burger, with fig jam, bacon, and melted goat cheese. If you don’t eat meat (or you just really like vegetables), you’ll appreciate the bright purple crispy veggie beet burger, topped with lemony arugula." - Gabi Moskowitz

Google
Highly overrated restaurant with deceiving price list. I ordered Eureka American Burger, as per menu $18+, which includes fries. When the server took the order, she asked me if I wish to replace the fries with other sides like salad. I said yes and opted for house salad. But, in the final bill, they charged $3+ for the salad. When queried, she said it was not a replacement but an upgrade. The server misled me with a purpose. This is completely unprofessional. With tips and tax, the final bill was $29. This is way too much for a simple burger.

The best bone marrow burger of my life—no exaggeration! I don’t say this lightly: this place served me the best burger I’ve ever had. Every bite was perfection—the patty was juicy and flavorful, cooked just right, with a perfect sear. The bun was soft yet held everything together, and the toppings were fresh and balanced without overpowering the meat. You can tell they care about quality here. The service was friendly and our bartender Tyson made me the best margarita I’ve ever had he was so friendly and helpful. and the atmosphere was relaxed but classy. If you’re a burger lover, this place needs to be on your list. I’m already planning my next visit

Amazing food and drinks here!! The peach sangria was so delicious. We had wings which were spot on and we are picky with our wings. And I had the spicy chicken sandwich, soooo delicious! Our table also got 2 burgers and a salad and all were sooo good. Lots of drinks were had as well! Would definitely go back!

Came here with friends (group of 5) for graduation lunch, ordered the strawberry limeade 5/5. Drinks came within 5 minutes, food took about 10-20 minutes. Atmosphere was nice and food was delicious. Wil be coming here again!!

Eureka!!! It’s a happening gastropub on Castro in sleepy Mountain View!!! Apologies for the gasp, but I’ve been coming to this stretch of cool California for decades, and it’s never been what I call “hip.” But if you’re like me - and traversing the continental U.S. to reach the tech capital of the world, you make do with the limitations. But this Castro Street (not to be confused with the San Fran varietal) has come a long way, baby - and its joints like Eureka that have livened things up. If you’re out and about, I highly recommend sliding into the bar, letting the open doors capture the whimsical valley breezes, and order a tasty burger with a fried egg - always a comforting topper. As a gastropub, you expect draft beer, and Eureka does not disappoint. I had a few sunlit brews in the waning afternoon, and they were crisp local selections that hit the spot. My burger was plush with jalapeño heat, but only half the equation. The fries were otherworldly, providing the perfectly crispy complement to the soft comfort of the handheld. The establishments on Castro are a little “hit or miss” in my opinion. But if you’re sequestered at a Hampton Inn prepping for meetings, I highly suggest a “eureka” moment.

Was in town for an event and it seemed to be one of the few places that stayed open late. Had the nachos and a drink. The cheese and meat on the nachos were a bit cold. We also had the wings. My friend has the burger and fries, which to me was the best tasting plate from the table. Service was great. It's a bar atmosphere, so a bit noisy inside and if you sit closer to the outside, you have to regular street noise. There is outdoor seating if you prefer that. The drinks that were recommended to us were tasty and weren't too strong for the meals.

Google
Good spot for a burger. I think the only problem I really had was that our drinks came out after the entrees and we had to ask to follow up on them. Otherwise service was quick, the food was good, and the ambience was lively.

Google
Nice place, but very noisy, almost impossible to hear what a person is saying, sitting next to you. Better to book the table, we had to wait ~20 minutes. The salmon was slightly overcooked, but the sauce and asparagus were really tasty. The burger was also fine.

Yelp
Came here on a whim the other day with a friend. TBH I haven't been to Eureka in YEARS. And last time I went I remember it was not a great experience. Flash forward todI was in the mood for a burger so we decided, hey why not try it again? We arrived and were seated promptly. The food much better then it was last time I went about 10 years ago. Service: 5/5 Our server was very friendly and had some great suggestions for food choices. He checked up on us and made sure we had enough water. Ambiance: 4/5 It was a little dark and some lighting would have helped. Hence the 1 star! Other then that it had a nice vibe and the booth/chair was comfortable. Food: 5/5 The food was pretty decent! I'd recommend the classic burger as my friend and I both had it and it was super tasty. You can substitute any side for a small charge instead of the fries it comes with. I had the onion rings and they did the trick. We also ordered a salad to *balance those burger calories* and the goat cheese one was a good pairing to the burger! My friend had something called "cinnamon honey sweet potatoes" and at first I'm like what is that??? I've never seen that or tried it on a menu. She felt like a risk taker that day so she ordered them. OMG I had a bite and they were so good! It's like candy for adults. I felt like I was eating a dessert so if you have a sweet tooth these are a must to try! I personally prefer the savory kind but as an avid potato lover I would definitely eat these too. Overall I'd say this place has really changed over the last few years and it is a decent spot to come for a nice meal! I recommend coming here for lunch or dinner and you will enjoy a nice burger and sides. I would definitely come here again !

Yelp
Eureka has some great cocktails even though they have a full wall of whiskeys. I got exposed to Eureka for the first time in Berkeley. A friend took me and I totally enjoyed the whiskey flight. It was amazing especially since I was very into whiskey at the time. The next time I went it was in Mountain View in my backyard. I enjoy their apps and usually go for happy hour. It is usually pretty loud inside so I usually try to get a patio table outside. Their burgers and sandwiches are very filling and I love their fries. I loved their tiki drink which I think is a special on their menu.

Yelp
WOW. When we entered, there were about 4 employees at the host stand. ALL ignored us. We sat down at the bar and the bartender came over. We asked him what beers were on the list... and he couldn't name them at all. Also turns out that though they advertise beers for $6 for happy hour, it's only a few beers (like Coors Light) and the rest are still full price! Cheap-os. So I asked him what wines were on happy hour. He said, "Uh... I have no idea... I just pour them." Asked if I could get the happy hour cocktail with tequila instead of vodka; "No, they're all batched." Again, cheaping out. The place was dead empty, and now I know why! Food: very few options on the happy hour food menu. We got fried pickles. When the server dropped off, she said, "Oh, this ranch is spilling, can you grab some napkins". Sure, let me do your job for you. The pickles were good. The pretzel bites, however... tiny portion and the sauce was literally inedible. It had the grossest texture - it was supposed to be cheese sauce but it was CHUNKY. The vibe is just plain old bar. Very little effort has gone into jazzing it up. Go anywhere else on Castro St. Don't waste your time or money here.

Yelp
Food 3.5 Drink 3.5 Ambiance (bar) 1 Service (bar) 1 I'm writing this moments after leaving in the event that the management at this Eureka wants to increase sales, particularly at their bar. This is quite possibly the worst service I've had in years, certainly the worst I can remember. I arrived around 5 o'clock and the bar was about 70% full with one person behind the bar. There are multiple empty spaces with dirty dishes and glasses, however after looking around a bit I made my way to an open seat with the least mess in the area. Lesson 1: pre-bus your station while you're working, your head should rarely be down but scanning the bar at all times. As I sat down I could see the bartender on the far side of the bar cleaning glasses, drinking some water, looking around the restaurant , finally I was able to catch his attention. There is no greeting or smile when he came over, just a simple what can I get you. I ordered my drink and a burger. After he delivered my drink the only other time he said anything to me with when he dropped off the check. Lesson 2: always check on the customer after the food's been delivered, this also gives you a chance to sell another beverage. It was a shift change so one maybe two people were coming on and he was busy getting out of there. The dishes and glassware that I had noticed upon entering the bar were still there 20+ minutes later. The new bar keeps, assuming the person following the other person around the bar was actually a bar keep, they absolutely no attention to the customers at the bar unless the customers reached out to them. I sat with an empty water and an empty drink for well over 15 minutes. The new bar Keep and the person following them around the bar or really involved in their conversation, but after a while they started cleaning the bar. While I was planning on having another drink at that point I was pretty much done with my burger and there was certainly no ambience, conversation or anything else to encourage me to spend more money or stay at the bar. At this point the bar was less than half full. Lesson 3: as a bartender you control the ambience and energy at the bar. Dirty glasses, empty glasses, and spending more time talking to coworkers than the customers is a sure way to have a dead bar and lead to stagnated sales. A small note about the food, while my burger was definitely cooked beyond the medium that I asked for it was still OK. I can assure you that next time I will definitely go to the Cupertino location instead of Mountain View.

Yelp
Dropped by again a week later and ordered my usual (usual being only the second time): the steak frites, rare, with a generous swipe of bone marrow butter on top. Perfection. That rare temp? Exactly where the steak lives its best life--tender, juicy, unapologetically rich. Started with the Caesar salad, which was pretty good... but let's talk about the real crime: 2.5 croutons. I counted. It felt like a passive-aggressive garnish. Caesar deserves better (so do I) To drink: a Shirley Temple, because sometimes you want bubbles, pomegranate flavor, and nostalgia in a glass. Sat outside and soaked in the vibes. Even though Eureka is a chain--and I typically run from anything that feels mass-produced--this one earns its stripes. The consistency in execution, the quality of the food, and the laid-back, slightly elevated atmosphere keep pulling me back in.

Yelp
After wanting to try this place for a while, it reminded me of a higher end red Robin. My burger was pretty tasty, but didn't really stand out to me in regards to flavor. My sweet potato fries were not cooked that well I would have preferred them to just be a little more crispy in a pinch of salt. The service was very friendly and environment was clean and inviting. There was plenty of parking and areas to walk around.

Yelp
We went here for Father's Day and it was not too packed at all! The service was fast and prompt. We got the fried pickles to start and that was really good! With the drinks, we enjoyed all of them! I got the jalapeño egg burger and it was great, though it didnt stand out to me from other burger places. This location is located on Castro street, which is a nice street to walk around with a variety for great shops to look at. Great location!

Yelp
good food but the service here is poo poo went sunday night 07/06 and it wasnt even close to busy. our server had her nose to her lil kiosk thing the entire time when she was going back and forth. i think she had half of the restaurant but an acknowledgment from her wouldve been acceptable. my boyfriend and i attempted at context clues however she did not look up any moment, just eyes glued to her handheld. front desk didnt wasnt any different either, i think management (she wasnt wearing a uniform shirt) bused our empty dishes away but did not even ask how we were or anything. it was my bf's first time at any eureka and hes been hype about it since i moved walkable to the area. he was looking forward to the dessert but because of the lack of service we were both turned off and went home without. after this specific visit, id be hesitant to come back

Yelp
(Tom Cruise voiceover) The vibe is fabulous late night fare for those of us who like to work hard and dine fine! And yes, ladies, it is hoppin'! Eleanor warmly greeted us! Lana served us. She is soo nice! New York Strip Steak w/ Brocollini! Get it with the Bone Marrow Butter! Absolutely delectable! Eureka Salad w/ 2 Beet Patties! Yes, not one; TWO! Lana made that special request possible! Bison Burger avec Truffle Fries! C'est Magnifique! Blackberry Smash! Tart! Just like the Strawberry Limeade! Soo goood! Exemplary party vibe w/ gourmet touches! Would order everything again! Thanks, Lana & Eleanor! Woohoo!

Yelp
Overall 3.5 stars Ambiance- we same on a Friday night and it was really loud. Loud music in the background and lots of people talking over each other. Food- everything was on par with what you would expect from a chain. No complains.

Yelp
Tried out Eureka because we always passed by it and it was always packed so it piqued our curiosity. The place is quite tight and awfully loud but it is a very lively vibe. Plus our server was pretty cool. The food though, was super yummy. I told our server the burgers we had was even better than Gordon Ramseys Burger place. Will definitely bring our kids here!

Yelp
As part of the post-covid downtown Mountain View, this Eureka! spot does a great job offering lunch to workers and tourists around the neighborhood. My office being just two walking blocks south on Castro, I visited this location with a former colleague and we enjoyed the relaxing outdoor eating. Service was nice and they never forgot about us while we enjoyed our meal outdoors. I had the fig burger (medium) with upgraded truffle fries and it was fantastic. Juicy and flavorful, the burger really does a great job of satisfying your burger needs but without the greasiness you'd get from fast food establishments. This was truly a well made burger. This place is recommended for a lunch spot.

Yelp
Eureka is the best! The ambiance is perfect after a long day at work. On a hot day they make it open air by leaving the shutter wide open. My group of friends enjoy the happy hour drinks & appetizers. Easy to lose track of time since it so jovial. Wonderful rewards program as well with the Eureka app. Hands down a fave spot on Castro. Parking is good as well if you are patient.

Yelp
I don't usually eat American food, but I was really craving mac and cheese balls. They were definitely the highlight of the meal, and I would order them again if I came back. The sauce they came with was delicious! I also tried the truffle cheese fries, but surprisingly as a truffle fan, I didn't enjoy the truffle sauce. I'd probably pass on these fries. The spicy chicken sandwich was ok; nothing special and not really fried enough. The consistency was a little bit on the soggier side. Service was attentive and good.

Yelp
Strolling around downtown Mountain View and trying to find a place to eat that my friend has never been to is like trying to find a needle in the haystack. As we were standing at the corner, across the restaurant and trying to figure out where to eat, a couple approaches us and tells us to go to Eureka! I mean if there are signs out there in the universe then this is it. My friend wanted to sit by the window, when we went in they said that it had been reserved so we were going to be seated elsewhere. Luckily, as we were putting our stuff down, the host tells us that the reservation was cancelled and we be seated at the front by the window.......what fate. We got there by happy hour and were able to take advantage of the deals. My friend and I both got the Eureka! American Cheeseburger, with fries. We shared the Mac n' cheese balls and the bourbon barrel cake. Service by Milani was phenomenal. She was so nice and attentive. If you haven't done so, you can download their app and take advantage of a $10 off coupon as a first time incentive. Plus, if you go back they have a loyalty reward system for frequent dining. My cheeseburger was yummy, the meat and the ingredients were fresh. The fries were really good too. Loved the way that the meal was served, it made it look more enticing. The highlight of the evening was the cake. Fabolous! The flavor of the cake with the vanilla bean ice cream was a perfect match. Not overwhelming. It was the right amount of sweet. We went on a rainy day, but by the time we went, the rain was not as intense and was starting to taper off. Warning....the floors were soooo slippery!!!! I thought it was me, even though it made no sense since I was wearing boots with a good rubber sole but when my friend made her way to the bathroom and came back she mentioned the same thing. I don't know if this is just because it had been raining and the floor was wet or if their floors are just slippery. The only other thing is that the water glasses looked a little smudged and dingy to me. The street is closed to vehicles, so parking can be found nearby at the parking garage and streets. It is a popular spot, great ambiance and lightning...a great spot for hanging out.

Yelp
We had a large group of about 15 people at Eureka, and the service was amazing. Our food came out quickly, and the staff was super attentive and accommodating. There's plenty of seating with high ceilings and TVs around the restaurant, making it a nice, open space. They're known for their whiskey and burgers, but honestly, most of the food--including the burgers--left a bit to be desired. That said, the nachos and truffle fries were pretty good!
google avatar

Yelp
Good ambiance, great vibes. Food was good, service was good as well. It gets a little busy so expect to spend 1-2 hours for your dinner. Location is great on Castro street, I generally go to the Gelato place next door after dinner so it's perfect.

Yelp
4.7/5 stars! Walking around this area, I always passed by this restaurant and finally decided to try it out! The interior is quite dark and the atmosphere is loud and lively, with tables being placed closely to each other. We were seated near the entrance very quickly, which was awesome despite it being a typical dinner rush time. I honestly didn't know initially that they specialized in burgers, but I was pleasantly surprised by their wide selection and protein substitutes. I don't eat red meat, but I sometimes crave a great burger that suits my food limitations. Aside from the beef protein options, they have a variety of protein substitutes that include ahi tuna, fried chicken, grilled chicken, salmon, and their veggie patty. - Mac N' Cheese Balls (5 pieces) 4.5/5: These were super delicious and crispy. There were chiles and whole macaroni inside, not like others I've had where the pasta was mushed or chopped up. It wasn't as creamy as I prefer, but it was good nonetheless. - Fresno Fig Burger with Veggie Patty 5/5: I am a goat cheese lover, and combining that with fig marmalade sounded like a dream! I was so excited that this burger was so customizable to fit my food preferences, allowing me to remove the bacon as well as changing the patty to their Beet and Kidney Bean veggie one. The goat cheese was creamy and paired well with the sweet fig. The veggie patty was soft on the inside, while crispy on the outside; you can definitely taste the subtle beet flavor in the mixture. The mustard and arugula were also nice to break away from the sweetness of the fig and pungent goat cheese. - Truffle Cheese Fries 5/5: I chose these fries to sub my regular fries and I couldn't be happier I did so. These might be one of the best fries I've had! They were fried to perfection and topped with truffle salt, Parmesan, and chives. They were also served with a white truffle cheese sauce that was fantastic! The truffle flavor was evident, but not too strong, and the sauce itself was not heavy. It was the perfect balance of truffle and cheese! -Big Island Daiquiri 4.1/5: This was a refreshing, sweet cocktail that I could definitely taste the lime and yuzu in. The Ube flavor was not as obvious to me, but it was a satisfying choice for a citrusy drink.

Yelp
I ordered a Southwest Garden Salad and should have sent it back because it was missing several ingredients. It didn't occur to me to hold onto the menu to check that it had everything listed. Salad contained: - about a cup of spring salad mix - some sprigs of cilantro - several thin crescents of red onion - about 12 tiny red beans (not pinto, black or kidney, they were smaller) - about 12 kernels of corn - about 12 bits of tortilla chips (size of a penny) - maybe 3-4 tiny cubes of avocado (size of a dime) no cheese mix no tomato no roasted red peppers It was hardly any food! I was done eating in half the time my friends ate their hamburgers. Kicking myself that I didn't send it back. Service was okay and ambiance sitting on the street was fine aside from dogs barking frequently and a street musician playing amplified violin the entire time.

Yelp
The only thing we've tried here was the buffalo wings, and these are phenomenal. The skin on these and crispy, sauce is so tangy and delicious, it makes you want to keep eating them. I've tried so many different buffalo wings and this place ranks very high on my list. I will say that on a Friday night, it was incredibly busy, loud and crowded, which makes me think everything else they serve here is great too. If you're looking for classic buffalo wings, I'd recommend this place absolutely

Yelp
Great spot for late night eats and a kicked back atmosphere. One of the few spots in the area open till midnight or 1 am and still jumpin. Not dead at all. Kitchen is great. Food comes out fast. The truffle cheese fries are a must have. Same with the Brussel sprouts. Wings are good too - we kept ordering more. Mac n cheese balls great. Nice salad offerings. Definitely going back next time I'm in town.

Yelp
I always passed by Eureka while exploring Mountain View, and finally got to try it!! We didn't have a reservation- and upon walking in on a Friday night, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table. We ended up sitting at the bar! I ordered the Wild Child cocktail, which was super yummy! It was a little fizzy and the lychee was the perfect pair on top. For food, we ordered the Honey Glzed Brussel Sprouts and the Bone Marrow Burger. The Brussel sprouts came out right away, but we waited for about 45 minutes for the Bone Marrow burger. It was a bit underwhelming to be honest.. Waiting for the food to arrive for so long, I thought the burger would be better. I would not recommend to order this burger. The brussel sprouts were a little too burnt for my liking but the glaze really saved it! I would definitely give this spot a second chance in the future. Hopefully next time the food comes out a little earlier :)

Yelp
This place deserves a review after visiting more than couple times now. We went for dinner on a Saturday without a reservation. I love the ambiance- lightings , the bar area and the service. Although it looked busy , we were quickly seated. Our server was very attentive and always had a smiling face . We ordered the chicken wings - the sauces were really good and the spicy chicken burger was good too. Truffle fries did not hit the spot though. The bourbon Carmel cake with vanilla ice cream was decadent.

Yelp
I came across Eureka and I got the Asian salad and some french fries with cheese. food was fresh and delicious. My server was really nice and kind to us as well. I'm sure I will visit this place again. Place was nice and clean the only thing is the music was too loud.

Yelp
The best Eureka! location. Every time I come I am well taken care of, the food always is amazing, and the drinks are even better! (You have to check out the happy hour it is fabulous) Some of my favorites are the house margarita (it comes out of a tap and is one of the best unique margs), the salmon kale Caesar, and you can't go wrong with any of the burgers with some truffle fries. Eureka is a great place to come for a casual meal, to watch a game, or to hang with coworkers after a busy day! If in the Bay Area, don't miss out!

Yelp
After having dinner at a local Ramen spot, we were walking up and down Castro for a spot for a nice cocktail. Eureka! was the perfect spot. We sat down at the bar and had great service the entire night. We loved all of our cocktails and had a great conversation with the bartender while watching the Rams vs. Cardinals game. The interior is on the darker side but the atmosphere was lively! Castro is closed off which is great as a pedestrian but makes driving a little more tricky. Regardless it was very to get to!

Yelp
One of the most efficient but fulfilling work lunches! Customer service is five star! It's impressive how fast they are but still maintain very quality food I would expect at a nice dinner. Got fine dining level service and food somehow left in 40 minutes. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Kimberly S.

Yelp
The food was good but the portions were small and over priced. The service was great but they kept interrupting me and my friends during our conversations. I know they are doing their job but I feel like they were checking up on us every 5 mins. The ambiance is cute and small. Parking isn't great and I wished they had more space to park.
google avatar

Yash T.

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance (right on Castro street and lives up to the vibe of the street), good bar food but slow service. We went in on a Tuesday evening and the place was busy but still were able to get seating (outside) rather quickly. They have a great collection of beers and cocktails were good too. The Mac and cheese balls and shishito peppers were great! The food did take a while to come out but it was ok since we were not in a rush.
google avatar

Yelp
Great service! Lots of menu options! Good air conditioning! Big table for the birthday party. The entree salads are a bit lacking. The drinks were reasonably boozy and priced properly.
google avatar

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Was a bit hesitant to order the Fresno Fig since I wasn't a fan of goat cheese but after some convincing from my friends I got it. And I was blown away by how amazing it tasted. You can barely taste the goat cheese and everything on the burger complemented each other so well. I also got the sweet potato fries over the regular ones and although it cost $3 more I think it was worth it. They drizzle it with a sweet honey like sauce and I think it goes really well with the burger and the sweet potato fries. We also got chicken wings for the whole table, they weren't mind blowing and the dry rub wasn't my favorite. Overall I would go back again for the burger but probably not the wings.

Yelp
I finally tried this burger shop in downtown Mountain View after so many years living in the area! I thought the Double Smash burger I got was just okay. I felt like the burger could have used a little more salt overall. It tasted a little bland and a little dry. My friends were lamenting that the 28 Day Dry-Aged Bone Marrow burger used to be so good and juicy but they changed it so that it's not as good anymore. They got it again to confirm and they agreed it used to be much juicier back in the day. Service was nice and friendly. Atmosphere of the place felt like a typical bar restaurant. Lots of big TVs behind the bar!

Yelp
The food is good and the drinks are good. It is a decent restaurant for happy hour. It is in a good location and has good indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are attentive. We mostly had appetizers and drinks on the occasions I have been here.

Yelp
Great lunch spot in Mt. View. We came to celebrate a coworker's birthday- 10 of us- and were seated right away. Nice selection of appetizers, entres and drinks. Food was fabulous!
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Came here for their happy hour (ends at 6pm) and this place filled up pretty quickly. They have a very limited HH selection. Only 4 appetizer choices (around $8 each) and a $12 burger. They also offer 3 cocktail selections + beer + wine. Generally speaking, both drinks and appetizers were above average but the portion size was on the smaller scale.

Yelp
Parking (4/5) This is located on Castro street (parts of which are blocked off for pedestrians). You can park in nearby free garages or on the street. Interior (4.25/5) The interior of the place is modern and clean and quite large with high ceilings). There is also bar space. Food (3.85/5) Spinach and artichoke dip (4/5) I liked the cheesiness and the flavor of it. Also liked that it felt baked on top but gooey below. The bread was good and crispy. The chips lacked flavor to me and were more on the stale side. Eureka Salad with Salmon (3.75/5) I like the lemon vinaigrette dressing I got with it. Refreshing and flavorful. The salad and green beans and avocado worked surprisingly well together. The salmon was on the drier side but not too bad and flavor was okay. Bathroom It was quite slippery both times I went. Not sure if this is common. Just wanted to note. But won't impact review stars.

Yelp
Came here again two more times during dinner hours, and the service was pretty horrible both times!! It was only good the first time because we came when it was not busy! The food was also mediocre when I ordered other meals (the wings were so bad and the tartare was also not good). The environment was much noisier and it feels like there's too much going on. Don't really recommend this place anymore.

Yelp
We love Eureka in Downtown Mountain View!! We've had tremendous service and we love Tyson and Derek!! Tyson genuinely remembered us - with details - from our first visit to our second, at least two months later. They're got a great menu and a very beautifully stocked bar with whiskey and bourbon a'flowin'!!

Yelp
Very unfriendly and unprofessional. I was here with some guests and my puppy. Since I knew puppies are not really welcome in restaurants, I asked for an outside table but they had none. Then the seating hostess told me they allow dogs inside. Since my 5 pound puppy is very particular about sitting on my laps, I asked her specifically whether it would be okay to keep her on my laps and she said yes. As long as the puppy is not on the table, it is fine, she said. We got seated and ordered drinks and food. No mention about the puppy on my laps. A waiter brought the drinks first. Still no mention about the puppy. The waiter managed up dunk his id card in my beer so I let him know that and asked for a new cup. He brought a new glass then started with the puppy that they need be on the floor not on the laps. I told him I specifically asked about that before getting seated and ordering food and they said okay. It didn't work. He basically stood his ground and told me to put my puppy on the floor. I knew she was not going to stay there which is why I asked that specific question in the first place. I would have walked out normally at that point but I had guests so it wasn't as easy. I asked to talk to the seating hostess who tried to contradict what she told me but when I confronted her, she admitted she told me it was okay. Still that waiter was not backing down. After a few minutes of impasse, he basically told me to keep the puppy on my laps and make sure she doesn't touch the seat and left. Unclear communication, very rude attitude, only making it an issue after I sent back the beer he dipped his id card into. All in all, I feel i was treated very badly. It was a very unpleasant afternoon thanks to that person. I paid the bill and also left a good tip as other staffs were all nice and polite but I'm never going back there. You just lost a repeat customer .

Yelp
Stopped in on a Monday night and had no problem getting a table. The Eureka Sour (made with bourbon rather than whiskey) was delicious, but a little heavy on the ice. I had the barbeque burger (filling and delicious) and upgraded to the cinnemon and honey glazed sweet potato fries - they were like French toast! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Truffle cheese fries are decent. American burgers, craft beer, whiskey served in hip industrial surrounds.

Yelp
Have seen Eureka packed every weekend for quite a long time, but for some reason I don't want to venture inside. I guess it's attributed to the fact that I don't drink. Happy hour advertisement won't sway me. Went there last night, got a table inside after 20-30 min waiting. Room is dark, floor is slippery. Waiter was friendly, able to provide suggestions of popular food. Service was quite fast, our fried shishito pepper arrived less than 5 min after the order was taken. It was room temp outside and a bit warm when you bit it down. We ordered bbq bacon, double smash, and 28 day dry aged bone marrow burgers. They were tasty but very greasy. The brioche buns were great for the burger but they were too much butter. The beer came quite late. I am not sure I want to come back there any time soon.

Yelp
Solid vibes, solid food, solid service! Came at 12:45pm on a Sunday and got seated right away. We ordered the Mac and cheese balls (so yummy), the brussel sprouts, I ordered the jalapeño egg with truffle fries, and my husband got the Napa chicken sandwich. Overall food was pretty decent. It's definitely on the heavier side though so maybe consider sharing. I would skip on the truffle fries addition next time. The sauce made the fries a bit soggy.

Yelp
I dined in here before but what really always make me come back is their dessert: Bourbon barrel cake. This is always a place I bring back friends to try their bourbon barrel cake that's fluffy warm with candied pecans and ice cream on the side. The perfect combination! I'm not a sweet tooth, but the sweetness of the cake with the ice cream is perfect and not overwhelming. I also recommend their cocktail: wild child( fruity flavor with salt rim).

Yelp
The food was amazing! The drinks were ok. The only down part, I came home and ate my leftover crispy veggie burger to find it had a piece of wood or something in it. It's a good thing I chewed slowly because I could have really done some serious damage to my inside of my mouth and throat. I will be reaching out to the manager tomorrow so share the photo. I would have given 4 stars but the sharp piece of wood or whatever it was lowered the rating:( Updated: I called to leave a message but I haven't heard back now a couple weeks later- still waiting for a solution. Update- I actually got contacted very soon after my post in the inbox but didn't look until now ‍ I spoke with Alena and she credited me for the situation. She was very nice and explained what most likely happened, could have been a piece of bamboo stick that fell into the patty. We definitely love the food and the ambiance! Might even go there tonight!

Yelp
went on a weekday during lunch. Super chill vibe. We sat at the bar and no complaints here. Great food. Good service and great drink selection.
