Where To Get A Great Hallaca For The Holidays - Miami - The Infatuation

"This small Venezuelan spot in South Miami has been around since many of us were in diapers, and it’s the kind of place where regulars are greeted with a confirmation of their coffee order. They sell an assortment of cakes, guayanés cheese by the pound, and serve breakfast and lunch. But around this time of year, you can throw yourself a mini Christmas party by ordering a plato navideño that includes pan de jamon, chicken salad, and an hallaca. These steamy bundles of joy are swaddled in banana leaves and come in three different options—traditional (beef, chicken, and pork), vegetarian, or chicken—and all have peppers, olives, and raisins. Somehow, the corn masa holds it all together better than those Huggies you were wearing when European Corner opened." - julia malave, ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

European Corner Panadería Venezolana - Review - South Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"This small Venezuelan spot in South Miami has been around for a long time, and it’s the kind of place where regulars are greeted with a confirmation of their coffee order. You can sit inside and enjoy an arepa or cachapa under the '90s Venezuelan travel posters or eat outside while watching stylish puppies strut out of the pet grooming store next door. They sell an assortment of cakes, guayanés cheese by the pound, and serve breakfast and lunch. They also have a special catering menu during the holidays, including hallacas." - Virginia Otazo

I have mixed feelings about European Corner. We ordered the cachapa and it was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had—fresh, delicious, and perfectly made. However, the service was a bit unusual; the person helping us didn’t seem very familiar with the menu. The coffee wasn’t my preference, though that could just be personal taste. Prices are good, especially considering it’s a café. Overall, I’d definitely come back specifically for the cachapas because they were truly outstanding.

Charming little cafe right in the heart of Somi! Staff is friendly, kind and helpful. Had the empanada and a decaf espresso. As a wedding and event DJ in Miami, I really appreciate good hospitality, especially when there's an added "family" vibe. I try to foster this at my events. There's pics on the walls of the grandparents who were also in this biz with a tribute. Heartwarming. You can feel the love they put into this biz. It's really more of a Venezuelan Corner, as the offerings here have a definite Venezuelan twist. Still very charming and highly recommend.

This family run local business is one of the best secret places in Miami. The super star is a special braised beef arepa! Ask for it… off menu! And the bakery items are amazing as well… but what takes it over the top Are the home made sauces. Run to this place!

This is a cute restaurant recommended by my Venezuela friend, so it’s very authentic! I have a wonderful experience here. Cachata and cachitos are so good we can eat this everyday. I love this cute family restaurant. Highly recommend the mango juice too

This is a family owned local business and I was so happy to go eat & support it! They were super nice and happy and the food is amazing !!! It’s not a big fancy place but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t amazing. I got an arepa & pan de bono and fresh squeezed orange juice and it was just amazing: highly recommend this place !!!

Best cheese empanada in Miami! Thin and Crispy and made to order. Reminds me of empanadas back in Venezuela. Wonderful nostalgia. Service is so friendly!

Been coming here for over 20 years! Carolina is hands down the best host in town, best cachitos, best coffee, feels like eating at home. Highly recommend eating here.

Arepa con perico and a café con leche $10 I was hoping that since I made it out of Miami Beach, I would find better pricing. But I guess I didn’t go far west enough. Family run they are very nice and polite.
