We always have fun here. There are 3 play areas and a big field area. One has climbing activity, it seems more for school-age kids. One has a sand area and slide, plus some climbing stuff for preschool. There is a water pad separating them, which is a hit with all ages. The big field area is where organized activities are offered by park staff, and I've also seen kids learning how to play soccer here. It is all surrounded by a track where many people stroll, speed walk, or run. Add to this a reasonably priced indoor, outdoor dining cafe playing music, and the whole family can share all the fun they've had over some nice food or coffee & ice cream.

Sunday at this park was nothing short of amazing with the kids. Every element comes together perfectly—a stunning backdrop, a sandy waterfront, and a charming waterfall, creating the ultimate outdoor experience. Adding to the magic, the building also houses a fantastic restaurant, Besty, making the visit even more enjoyable. A must-visit spot for a fun-filled day with the family!

Evelyn’s Park in Bellaire is a charming green space perfect for a stroll, picnic, or quiet retreat. The Alice in Wonderland sculpture adds a whimsical touch, and the on-site café is great for a quick bite. Well-maintained and hosting community events, it’s a relaxing spot for all ages. A hidden gem in the Houston area!

Google
I went to see the Alice in Wonderland Exhibit. Truly a cute & private area to see the exhibit. The park does have a water splash pad for kids and an area for the adults to relax while their children play.

Google
Driving ny this park was by complete accident but it was a wonderful surprise. We absolutely loved reading about the history and story of the park. There are so many areas for families to enjoy and everything is so well maintained. There is a cute little sharing library next to the park (close to the ice cream shop) so bring any extra books you have for others to read and enjoy.

Google
Unique playground with lots to do for all kids. There's a little sand pit, a path to walk around, a nice open green field.

Google
Great little park! There are lots of activities for kids to enjoy. Lots of things to climb and they even have a splash pad area and a sand pit! Their events team puts on interactive activities all week as well. The only complaint is parking but I was told the church doesn’t mind people parking, but park with caution.

Google
Great little hidden gem. Pretty awesome playgrounds and water fountain to cool off. Parking on site is very limited, but the church across the street allows free parking.

Yelp
This is an incredible park that is right next to a restaurant. The air is always abuzz with live music. Make sure you check it the parking lot as there are not many parking spaces however there are always people pulling in and out so you might snag a spot. the park is really well laid out. it is gorgeous landscaping, and it has plenty of trees for shade and benches to watch the kids. We love the cement slide and the mountain climbing hill (with a rope to pull yourself up). The kids love climbing up on the logs. There is also a splash pad just next to the main area. This is definitely reminiscent of the new park that opened at Hermann park with the steep grading, the canopies, and the area up top overlooking the entire park. This is easily one of the top 10 parks in Houston.

Yelp
A great park, perfect for family and kids. We went on a Thursday morning and they had a few table for the kiddos to do some crafts. Unfortunately they don't allow dogs at the park but that also means that they are able to keep it clean and you don't have to worry about the kids rolling around in the grass. There's also a nice playground and splash pad - perfect on a hot day. There's limited parking by the park but there's additional parking at the church across the street.

Ivan K.

Yelp
Came here on a late Sunday afternoon. Was able to find free parking across the street at Bellaire United Methodist, which appears to provide parking for Evelyn's Park on the weekends(?) Took the kids here for a playdate and they had a great time running between the three playgrounds. We just went to chat with friends while the kids ran around. Looks like there is a large area that I didn't even explore. Great open area for the kids and in a former life this probably would be a nice date spot. Beautiful weather, fresh air... can't complain. Well maybe except for the limited parking but it wasn't bad at all. Definitely recommend this gem!

Yelp
This is a cute little park with free parking. There is an American style diner with picnic tables, Betsy's, which is part of the Adair group. The Alice in Wonderland sculpture is a perfect picture opportunity for adults and kids. It has been expanded. I saw a sandbox, ropes, water fountains for kids to run around, a tobogan, and of course, a walking trail. This is a nice place to bring the kids. I went there because Yelp Elite Helene had posted photos of medical inflatables. So I rushed to see them that same day because they only had them there for one day.

Chris J.

Yelp
Great park for families with young kids, has a small splash area. Toddlers to preteens will enjoy the activities here, and there's an on-site restaurant to feed them as well. One of our favorite family friendly parks in the area!

Yelp
Love this small park in Bellaire. I remember when this was Teas Nursery. Founded in 1910, Teas was the first business in Bellaire. Edward Teas was a horticulturalist who provided many of the beautiful plants that grace Bellaire Boulevard, Rice University and historic neighborhoods and businesses. Many of our fruit trees, roses and azaleas came from Teas Nursery. When Teas closed its doors a century later in 2009, brothers Jerry and Maury Rubenstein petitioned the City of Bellaire and then raised the funds to create a park to be named in honor of their mother, Evelyn. So Evelyn's Park was born. Today, Evelyn's Park is growing, expanding and thriving. It is a place to community with a new playground, water park splash pads, small walking path/exercise track, and a beautiful Alice in Wonderland inspired Mad Hatter's Tea Party. Stop at Betsy's for a coffee or tea, salad, tacos or a sweet treat. Small dining room in the gazebo style house, but lots of picnic tables are available to sit under the live oak canopy when the weather is nice. Check the calendar for events. Bubble and Board Games. Coffee and Cars. Zumba. Tai Chi. Art in the Park. Love the Sunday Open Air and Holiday Markets. Come to the outdoor living rooms. Enjoy some shade in the Trevilion. Park trellis, park pavilion, it is a great space to relax on a sunny Sunday (or any day) afternoon. Love the Solar Pavilion. Collecting solar power as well as water, the cisterns collect water to be used in the irrigation system. Eco friendly and aesthetically pleasing. Great place to explore on a sunny day in Bellaire.

Yelp
Small but charming and well-maintained park. I saw two play areas for kids: one for younger kids and another for older. The playgrounds weren't your usual types -- there were some unique structures to climb and explore. There is also a splash pad (although it's currently closed due to water restrictions). There is a loop around the park -- paved / sand. Either way, stroller-accessible. However, the park is small so if your baby is a bit older, you can manage with a carrier. There isn't too much shade though so if you want to stay for a bit, maybe a stroller is best to keep your babe out of the direct sun. The Alice in Wonderland sculpture is really cool and definitely worth seeing. We had no issue parking in the lot -- came at around 9am on a Sunday morning and there were still a few open spots. We didn't eat at the cafe but it looked really cute (lots of seating). They also hold lots of events at this park (art, pilates, tai chi, board games, live music, and more). Check out their online calendar.

Yelp
A nice small community park in the area! It seems like they renovated the park recently and they have many attractions in this park to entertain not only kids but also adults as well! :) There are wonderland figures here so you can have nice picnic pictures together! Water park is also there so it's great for sunny and hot day! Bring your kids, family and friends and have a fun time! :) Cheers

Yelp
this is a cute park. the statues are neat and walking loop around edge is nice. great variety of plants. is pretty small

Sam F.

Yelp
Very good park that's close by. It's a good place to go fly a drone or a kite. Just don't do both at the same time of course!

Marcelo S.

Yelp
This has become a new hot spot to walk around so my gfriend can get her 10000 steps a day . Since it is close to a fellow Yelper we usually walk from her home . Why walk here : Parking is free They have a cool small cafe with indoor and outdoor sitting to get food and wine They are dog friendly and have water bowels for your furr babies At night it has some great sunset views and might even catch a drink by the MADD Hatter Bronze statues where kids like to climb and play.

Erica G.

Yelp
Cute park next to Betsy's. Everything is off limits due to Covid Just good to take a walks.

Nicole W.

Yelp
This is a great park that we sometimes come from across town to go to. It's "different" and exciting for the kids to have non traditional play spaces, and during the summer the splash pad is a great way to cool off in the middle. The water kind of pools so it's actually like a 2-4 in pool of water in the middle which is even more refreshing on a scorching day. Appreciated some of the shaded spots, and variety of things to do. They keep the park well maintained. Also I love that they have Betsy's cafe on property for an easy during or after play bite of food without even having to load the kids in the car. Highly recommend.

Kim R.

Yelp
Our family love this park! Sad that it's so underrated on Yelp. They have a nice cafe on site with plenty of seating. There's a lovely Mad Hatter sculpture tucked away in the corner which is great for photos! I bring my kids' balance bikes & they go round & round the little paved loop for ages! There isn't much equipment (two slides & that's it), but it's more of a nature area, so equipment isn't the point. Parking is available in the church lot across the street or park on the street in one of the nearby neighborhoods. The 2 parking lots that they have on site are tiny, but you might get lucky! This place is great for an outdoor lunch with the family & a little wander through the park afterwards.

Zo M.

Yelp
Great place to walk around in Bellaire with a cute small cafe that serves pizza, wine and teas.Don't be surprised if you see kids running around on their razors skateboards or adults playing spikeball ( a trampoline game that has become pretty popular during the pandemic). They will be expanding this park to include a water area for hopefully the summer .Right now it is a cool area to walk around , get a cool drink or glass of wine and enjoy the outdoors while socially distancing.

Cynthia V.

Yelp
This is a nice neighborhood park that is about to become even better when the currently-under-construction splash pad, play area, and table space opens. The park is conveniently located on Bellaire in Southside Place. You can find a restaurant, Betsy's, located on the park grounds as well. What really sets this park apart is the Mad Hatter Tea Party art installation located on the southeast corner of the park - larger than life statues bring to life beloved childhood storybook characters. It is a must see!

Jane B.

Yelp
It's a great little park. They have a cafe on site and seem to have events fairly often. They are also open at night and it's well lit. Sidewalks through the park, slides built into the hill itself. They have markers for the plants explaining what they are. There's lots of open green space. There are not a ton of "toys" or equipment for kids to play on though. And there aren't any mature trees yet, so in the middle of summer you can't stay long. But would be good for morning walks or evening relaxing cup of java and very event friendly.

AngryNessy T.

Yelp
Great place for people with kids that also have plenty of money to throw around and care about good flavor in their food...

Thomas S.

Yelp
Nice little neighborhood park located in Bellaire and West University neighborhoods. Unfortunately I did not know the park was under renovation when I visited for walking exercise. I did noticed there was a cafe with a nice outside sitting area. Three stars for now and will update after all the renovation is done. I believe it will be very nice

Stephanie L.

Yelp
It was beautiful for a quick birthday brunch. We arrived early due to limited parking shared with guests from a restaurant located in the same park.

Ginger G.

Yelp
Such an cute and awesome place to visit. Todays weather was overcasted so the bronze wasn't hot but I can only imagine how hot it gets. My friend and I were the only ones on the area we could see kids playing in the bear distance. It's a cute place to take photos maybe even celebrate a birthday over cake. It's not far from the Westin Oaks/Galleria Mall. There is street parking right by the statues

Laura K.

Yelp
Marcelo posted that Evelyn's Park is dog friendly--signs are posted at each entrance to the park that No Dogs Allowed per city ordinance. Bellaire Police have been given a directive by the new chief of police to enforce this and you can be fined $500. I have seen Bellaire PD enforce this. Note: Betsy's restaurant is INSIDE the park and so this applies to the restaurant as well. Only place dogs are allowed in Bellaire parks is the dog park on Edith Street. From the Frequently Asked Questions on the Evelyn's Park website: Are dogs allowed in the park? A City of Bellaire ordinance does not allow dogs in city parks. An advantage of this ordinance is that it helps keep lawn areas clean for picnics and play

Mercedes S.

Yelp
Nice park to walk around well maintained, restrooms and water stations. There is a lot of construction going on because they are building a huge water amenity and play ground for children. I can't wait to see it once it's built!

Michael G.

Yelp
Very nice park. My grandchildren go there often to play. Also they have celebrated birthday parties there too.

Darla V.

Yelp
Don't bother unless you are going to take photos with the sculptures. Playground is closed and on website doesn't let you know. Only thing to do is spend money on food. Nothing for children. Super disappointed. Drove for an hour to get there. If there was a zero stars that what I was give, but since there is not it gets. 1

Kelley J.

Yelp
Went to this park to just walk around because I just wanted a nice and safe car-less trail to walk at. The park is pretty small and I was done walking around in 30 minutes and that was probably almost 2 times around the whole "park" But it definitely is a nice place to walk and chat and there're lots of families with their kids playing soccer or just playing in the playground. The parking is sufficient but if there's an event going on at the restaurant, the lot gets pretty packed. Tip:If you see their website, they actually hold yoga and pilates classes that would be really cool to attend when we have cooler weather in spring or fall!

Vero A.

Yelp
I live a block away from Evelyn's Park. We rarely visit. No shade and no water features for taming the scorching Houston weather. The children's play area is stark and, in my view, the log steps do not look like a safe place to play. We take our granddaughter (almost 3) to Mulberry Park instead. It is just not a welcoming place in the Houston heat. It looks like the landscaping appropriate for an urban art museum that you walk through after parking your car, not at all like a neighborhood gathering place. And speaking of parking, it is insufficient at best.

MoonCat -.

Yelp
Duch a beautiful place! The place is updated and the construction if finished! Would highly recommend to go here with family and friends, I think it's also pet friendly!

Virginia M.

Yelp
Great. Did take out because crowded inside and too cold to sit outside. Power bowl! Dressing excell but could have used more.

Sierra R.

Yelp
Great place to go hang out with friends or family a lot seating. Very clean and peaceful.

Britt S.

Yelp
Great park for hangout outside and grabbing a bite to eat. Whether the food is from park restaurant or a homemade picnic be sure to join the Madhatter's tea party.

Gabriela C.

Yelp
I visited this place for the first time this week and I enjoyed the small scale setup of the park. It has very clean restrooms with baby changing station. Small but private parking. The cafe shop onsite is eclectic but expect to pay $3.25 for a cup of joe! Overall, nice place to stop and take a stroll. If you have young children, be mindful that there is no play area for little ones other than the slide and logging steps near the hill.

JJ J.

Yelp
We went for the explicit purpose of a picnic and certainly got the perfect experience out of this park. We found a nicely isolated grass field behind the nice permanent bathrooms (with changing stations and water fountains) that is boxed off fairly well with hedge/back of bathroom/sidewalk with hills (back of slides)/ crevice natural barrier. So for our two kids we could spread a blanket and relax and let them play with not much concern. If it were hot we would need to be here in the evening since there's no shade. It has a mini walking path and a life size Alice in wonderland dinner table characters' statues set; we should've eaten here! Plenty of grassy places to skirmish. The slides and sandpit (and maybe the fountain by the cafe) are the main attractions and they don't disappoint, the boys loved them for quite a while. If we were coming here just to play, i don't see much time being spent here, maybe 30-60 minutes, but half that, again; if hot, because of no shade. I guess that's the hope of the cafe on the grounds: lure in hapless recreationists who wear themselves out. Well they didn't succeed this time! But it looked tempting! Parking was simple. Two lots. A tiny one on the east side by the statues and a bigger one (1.5 dozen spaces maybe?) on the west side by the cafe. By the time we left people were jostling for spaces, so I would expect to have parking issues after school or after work day hours. Being that we live an hour away, I wouldn't call this park worth the drive, but it is nice and very cool; plus it looks beautiful and it is one of the few with a bathroom and is a great place to spread out! What would I drive an hour for you ask? The museums, zoo, Levy park, discovery green, to name a few. But if it had a little bit more playground equipment, it could be worth it!

Shana C.

Yelp
A very nice park with cool elements, but they are not a dog friendly park. Nice trails. Food option available. Some parking. This is a nice human park. Glad I know I can't bring my dog if there is a next time for me and my family.

Wesley S.

Yelp
Really awesome and clean park. I had a great time here with my son and dog. The Ivy restaurant is really nice. Overall very clean, safe and fun park.

Rosy P.

Yelp
There was a bit of hype about this new park so we decided to stop by one day in the late afternoon. The parking lot is very small. I can't imagine where people would park when they have events here. First thing I noticed was the portable bathrooms near the edge of the parking lot in front of a metal (storage?) building. There was also one of those portable plastic sinks. They have gravel walking paths here. From the parking lot, we walked along the path and noticed some long wooden logs sawed in half lengthwise placed on the sides to be used as seating. We also noticed some homes that backed up to the park could view visitors to the park from their second story back windows. As we got closer to the children's play area, there was a wooden wall with colorful butterfly plaques on it. A small sand pit area was nearby for children to play in. Near that were two tall plastic slides that were accessible by climbing up a hill path made up of an array of chopped tree trunks. There is a cafe on-site but we didn't stop in this time. In front of the cafe is seating and bike racks. We only managed to explore part of the park. It's very quiet here. Pretty uneventful to say the least. I feel like it's not all....done. I can't imagine spending a lot of time here especially since they just have those portable restrooms. With a kid in tow, I'd prefer real restrooms.

Timberly B.

Yelp
I don't understand why pets aren't allowed at this park. It's a beautiful park.., but animals are meant to be outdoors...doesn't make sense at all.

Laura S.

Yelp
Loved loved this park. The statutes are amazing and even as an adult. I found it magical. Beautiful.

David K.

Yelp
Terrible management. The restaurant here is amazing, but there was a woman who assaulted us. I am 15, and my cousin is 13. She grabbed our bike and threw it down the hill. Manager did nothing. Very inappropriate I would've loved to call the cops.

Laura D.

Yelp
I agree with the other comments regarding the lack of amenities. Major anticipointment with the park after years of reading about the park during its planning stages. The cafe at the corner was terrible, tasteless, dry food. I might consider having a glass of wine and listening to music on the nights they have entertainment, but other than that I will not go back.

Fedor E.

Yelp
I've never reviewed a park before but I was so perplexed by the negative reviews. Yes, better parks exist but this is the best one right there. The 'Alice in wonderland' statue is the most detailed piece of metal I have ever seen. At night it's fun to grab a beer at the little restaurant and listen to live music. But I have to agree with the other negative reviewers , it is hot in the middle of the day in the summer. It's also not a dog park and as a result I didn't step in any poop. My kids love the slides

Jon K.

Yelp
Can someone in the Conservancy answer why there are not any (many) kid friendly activities (slides, tunnels, eco-friendly stuff) at Evelyn's Park? On Monday, I took kids to Levy Park and sorry to say Evelyn's Park pales in comparison. There were hundreds of people at Levy and way more activities. Driving home we passed Evelyn's Park with maybe 10 people there. I've been disappointed with any development and hope to see more at Evelyn's in the future!

Albert S.

Yelp
I debated about posting a review about this park, but hopefully this will help expedite some changes in the near future. First, I think it was a great idea to make this piece of property into a park. It is ideally located in Bellaire and walking distance for many families. I think I echo many Bellaire residents when I say there were pretty high expectations for the park. That being said, this park could be so much more. One of my biggest gripes about this park is: did the designers not realize that we all live in Houston, a city where it's 90 degrees and 90% humidity for about 6 months out of the year?! Where are the trees and shade?! I get that it's nice to have a big open space, but almost 75% of the park (including the "playground") is out in the blazing sun. So right off the bat, you've limited the park's use to basically the winter months or the early morning/evening during the summer. Another major issue is the "playground." Again, I understand the intent of trying to make a park for more than just children. But you have to put more than a slide and sand "area" as an activity for children. I hate to parrot other reviewers, but truly look to Levy Park as an example. On the flip side, on those coveted spring and fall days when the cool fronts come through, it's a great place. And for large events (again in the early spring or winter), the open space is a wonderful area. So maybe that was the intent the whole time. But if you want the park and land to be utilized to its full potential, I think some changes need to be made.

Kathy F.

Yelp
Like the reviews below major disappointment. There is 1 slide...that's it. Oh and broken down cornhole game....such a shame and waste. Had tons of potential.

C W.

Yelp
I'm truly confused by this park--It looks to be about the same size as Levy, with onsite food, but unlike Levy has a population of surrounding homes full of children. Yet there is practically nothing for kids to do here. I get that there is a large play field and a hill with a slide (both completely sun-drenched, BTW), but that hasn't cut it in about 20 years. What a wasted opportunity. My two cents to the Conservancy: Realize you got it wrong, swallow your pride, cut the massive field in half and install state of the art playground equipment/splash pad. This park will be packed all day long, and the restaurant will thrive. Unless the point is to have a large green space on an extremely valuable plot of land that no spends more than 30 minutes at? It makes no sense and is frankly an embarrassment to Bellaire considering funds could have been better spent simply copying what makes Levy/Discovery Green so successful. Please fix this park.

Won R.

Yelp
Pretty disappointing green space. There are plenty of smaller area parks with more amenities. Big fail on the development. I just saw pictures of Levy Park and this is a an epic let down. Lost opportunity. Attached restaurant is also disgusting.
