this is a great place for brunch. The host, servers and chefs were all exceptional.The food selection was overwhelming and delicious, especially the deserts!

Great Brunch we have been there the past 2 Sunday’s for brunch and both were outstanding meals. Also a huge thank you to Shelley for providing 5 star service greatly appreciated see you all again ❤️

Extraordinary food from the chef! Came here with a group and really loved how the staff took food allergies seriously and made sure everyone was taken care of.

Evergreens offered a Prix Fixe Christmas Eve Dinner -three courses, complimentary mulled cider or eggnog, plus entertainment and caroling for just $49.95++ per person. How could we pass that up? We ascended the lobby's grand staircase and walked to a dining room on the right side of the second floor. First impressions -the room was beautiful! Two acoustic guitarists were playing and singing a mix of Christmas and pop songs. We looked at the menu and saw the same basic dinner details we'd seen in the newsletter ad a few days ago. The "starters" were Frisee & Arugula Salad, Spinach Salad, or Butternut & Apple Bisque. The main courses were Pecan & Dijon Crusted Rack of Lamb, Roasted Tenderloin of Beef, Cider & Spice Pork Loin Wrapped in Bacon, Roasted Vegetable Wellington, or Lobster & Crab Stuffed Dover Sole. And the desserts were a Warm Plum Cobbler or a Chestnut Chocolate Torte. What a great menu ! When our server asked about cocktails, we asked about the complimentary cider or egg nog we saw in the newspaper ad, but which curiously didn't appear on the table menu. She said there were no complimentary drinks included. Now, both of us had seen the ad (Page 7, Yankee Flyer North, December 14, 2016) but apparently either the wrong ad was printed or the staff didn't know about it. We even asked our server to check with someone else, but that didn't work either. Oh well, I ordered a glass of wine and checked out the music. The acoustic duet featured West Hartford's Jen Lowe and a male guitarist whose name I didn't catch. They were wonderful -super entertaining, funny, both had great voices and picked those acoustic guitars beautifully. They reinvented some pop classics from the Stones, Beatles, Bob Marley and turned them into gorgeous acoustic versions (ever hear an acoustic take on "You Can't Always Get What You Want?"). They mixed in a Christmas song or two, but the pop music and a funny Jenn original were the highlights. Twice during the evening, seven or eight Santa hat clad teenagers from Simsbury High walked in to lay some Christmas carols on us and they passed one of the Santa hats to collect donations for Loaves and Fishes in Hartford. And our dinner? It was great. We both had the Butternut & Apple Bisque served with "Crispy crumbled bacon & goat cheese". It was hot, with a great creamy taste and plenty of bacon. The serving size was pretty generous too. We decided on entrees of the Cider & Spice Pork Loin Wrapped in Bacon and served with "Pumpkin & cauliflower mash topped with crispy onion straws, shaved Brussels sprouts with dried cranberries & balsamic caramelized onions" and the Lobster & Crab Stuffed Dover Sole served with "Citrus Buerre blanc, pumpkin & cauliflower mash topped with crispy onion straws & sautéed garlic honey broccolini". I loved the Dover Sole and everything on my plate. The fish was cooked just right, there was plenty of crabmeat in the stuffing, the pumpkin/cauliflower mash was delicious, and the broccolini was tender. I tried a forkful of the Pork Loin and it was tender and flavorful, really good ! We tried both of the offered desserts - a Warm Plum Cobbler (Warm plum compote topped with brown sugar cake enhanced with ginger, nutmeg, cloves & cinnamon. Served with toasted almond ice cream & candied almonds) and a Chocolate Chestnut Torte (Spiced cocoa crust topped with layers of mascarpone caramel, chocolate ganache). Both were ridiculously good. All in all, we had a wonderful time. The music, the atmosphere, the food were all stellar. And my glass of wine ended up being comped!

More than impressed with the amazing day we just had at this venue for my baby shower. The food was to die for, and the people were so amazing. I can't wait to come back to enjoy another brunch. Thank you so much to the staff and the Simsbury Inn for a wonderful day and meal

I had an amazing Easter Brunch today in the beautiful dining room!!! The Host and all of the staff were so kind and took great care of us. This is our second year and we loved every minute of our meal. Thank you to the Easter Bunny also for visiting our table. A truly memorable 2017 Easter!!

My friends raved about this place so we were excited to go with a big group of friends. It happened to fall on a Sunday that was close to St Patrick's Day so everything at the brunch had a "Irish or green" spin. First of all, we had a reservation at 12pm and for some reason the host had us wait for a long time in the lobby. It wasn't crowded when we got there and we watched as several large groups went in before us. So by the time they seated us, the brunch buffet area was extremely crowded. Having been to some pretty nice brunch places in the past, I didn't find them to have many choices. It was a small area with an omelette station, a number of prepared dishes and also a carving station. They had cocktail shrimp and oysters, wished they were a little bigger in size. Some of the desserts were also gone by the time we went to the table. What was left was too sweet and not that good. All in all, I was pretty disappointed for what we paid. I think they even made it more expensive because of St Patrick's Day. This was an edible meal but there are better brunch places in the area.

BEST brunch in LIFE. We visit Evergreen every Mother's Day for the fabulous brunch they provide! It is quite expensive but WELL worth it! They have so many items and stations your head will explode! Some of my favorites are their eggs Benedict, green beans with pecans, risotto and this past Sunday the butternut squash ravioli. They have a raw bar station, carving stations, omelet station, Belgium waffle station with crazy amounts of toppings and of course..the dessert station with so many options you will need to stand there forever making choices OR go back a couple more times. One free mimosa or bloody Mary is included (for the price you should be able to have at least two) and coffee refills. I would give this place 5 stars but when they are busy the service becomes a hot mess. They forget things, mess up on checks and it can be a bit chaotic...the wait in lines for the stations included in that...so one star off for that...but I will come back every Mothers Day for sure as well as some random Sundays when I feel like a less busy brunch but want the same fabulous food.

I can't even make a reservation! I have called your restaurant on three different days trying to make a reservation. I can not talk to a human being to make a reservation. Each time I am told to leave a message. Call in the morning? Sorry, call after 5pm I am told. Call after 5 pm? On two different days I was told to leave a message and someone will call me back. No. I am the customer. I do not want to be bothered with you calling me back when I am busy doing something else. Reorganize your system. Every time I call there is a person available, but they are not authorized to make reservations. That is bad management on your part. I will go to Avon Old Farms Hotel for brunch. Your restaurant/hotel is such a pain in the behind.

Service is attentive and there is no rushing the diners. Look around before you go for the eggs and waffles, because the carving table, stews, fish, and pastries are extraordinary. But no matter how well you plan your attack or how strong you think your self control is, you will overeat!

With a dearth of places in our area for a good buffet brunch, we had high hopes for this one. It was decent, and we will likely be back, but nothing extraordinary. My only gripe is the limited selection. When I think brunch, I'm thinking a broad range of items - both breakfast and lunch. They had all the usuals - omelet & waffle station, breakfast meats, breads and muffins (but a small selection), carving station, shrimp cocktail, salads, and hot entrees (a few). Quality of everything was good, but we ran out of different things we wanted to try fairly soon. One noticeable missing entry, and brunch staple, was eggs benedict. The desserts were quite good, and oddly enough, the selection was extensive with many types of cakes, pies, cookies, and chocolates.

Delicious everything and fantastic service. I love staying here when I'm here on business, and I love eating here while I'm there. I legitimately look forward to these trips thanks to this place.

This is one of our favorite places to go for brunch! They accommodate a large group and offer a variety of choices. The food is delicious and the they have very good service.

My wife and I had brunch recently after a wedding we attended. It was fantastic. Great omelette station. Delicious apple/cranberry blintzes. The best sausage links I've ever eaten. Poached egg, tomato in hollandaise on an english muffin that was great. So many more options I don't remember. This was a top notch brunch!

A wonderful experience for the Sunday brunch thanks to Jerome and the friendly supporting staff who accommodated my family, a member with handicap access needs, and a birthday celebration.

Evergreens vs Seasons Restaurant Sunday Brunch. My wife and I went to Seasons Sunday Brunch in Avon last week and Evergreens this week. Seasons charged $26.5 and Evergreens charged $28.95. On a scale of 1-10 in this area for the quality of food and value, Evergreen's is a 6.5 and Seasons was a 9. Season's food was just so much better in almost everything. The mimosa was better at Evergreens, but everything was much better at Seasons and it was 9% less expensive. I would recommend Season's over Evergreens hands down.

Called about making Easter brunch reservations. Spoke to "Patrick" who simply stated "yeah, we're all sold out". Not an ounce of friendliness, customer service or personality in his curt delivery. Way to go, man.

I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my life. I called early on monday to make my annual reservation for thanksgiving. I was told by the receptionist that the restaurant is closed until thursday (really?) but someone calls in for messages daily. I asked if they were still taking Thanksgiving reservations and she said oh yes they are. well i get a call back on Wednesday night and was told no they aren't taking reservations.....well I just wasted 3 days waiting for that....I hate being lied to by a receptionist and then callously treated by a restaurant person. They will never hear from me again.

I love Evergreen's. I've never had anything but wonderful food and service. Surprisingly for all that, the prices are very reasonable. It truly is a gem and I hope more people give it a try.

I am a local neighbor of the Simsbury Inn, however, due to past experiences at the restaurant, my friends and I stopped going. The food was a disgrace and it was waaaayyyy over priced for what you were served. The new buzz in town is that there is some new hot shot head chef in town. A lot of my friends and even family have eaten at the restaurant in the past month and all have had rav reviews. I reluctantly returned about 2 weeks ago.......I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised!!! The food served was done so with such care and precise techniques. I had had the lobster and a fresh homemade new england clam chowder. We were served fresh mozzerella, tomatoes and a pomergrant sauce with it. All I have to say is OMG. When I questioned the floor manager, he informed me that new young chef makes his own mozzerella there at the INN and he buys all of his produce from the local farm markets. Bravo and hats off to that young man. I am a strong supporter of local business and local grown produce!!!! The flavors were fresh, bright and vibrant!!! I have to admit I was blown away by the entire experience....it is food that you would be served in NYC. I strongly suggest that anyone in the area checks out this new young chef's food!!! We will be back and this time I will bring more friends!!!!
