Everline Resort & Spa | Best ski hotels in North America

"This smart and sprawling hotel is located on 195 acres, beneath the peaks of Squaw Valley. There’s direct access to the slopes – two strides on skis and guests are on the Squaw Creek chair. Accommodation ranges from deluxe rooms to fireplace suites and bi-level penthouses. All have grand picture windows framing panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and ancient ponderosa pine forests that surround the hotel, although the best view is from the award-winning outdoor pool and hot tubs. There are six on-site restaurants, including Montagna, a Mediterranean-inspired eaterie with an open kitchen featuring a wood-fired oven. " - Nicola Iseard

We stayed at the Everline for a family wedding and the experience was overall good, but let down by some of the reception team. The accommodation was very nice, though the bathroom on our room was quite small. The wedding was fabulous and the food was superb. The service during the wedding from bar and restaurant staff was excellent. The food for the main reception was exceptional, great quality, and served quickly and efficiently so noone was waiting. Wine glasses were replenished quickly and overall the dining experience was fantastic.|The main thing that let it down a little was that some of the reception staff were less than helpful. On check in, some of us experienced friendly and pleasant service, but some of us were treated with a minimum of courtesy and helpfulness. On checkout, we asked for a 2 hour extension on the checkout time for one room as we were not flying out from Reno until late afternoon. Despite the fact that within our family group we had 6 rooms and the wedding party had taken at least 15 rooms, the request was met with a fairly surly "no, it's not policy unless you pay $60". Another member of the team stepped in and said we could extend by one hour, which we did. It felt unecessarily unhelpful- it was a Monday, out of season and the hotel was very quiet and it marred what was otherwise a pleasant stay for a lovely occasion.|The other thing that felt a bit penny piching for a luxury hotel was charging for water bottles- somehting you had to look hard to see as the price was very subtly marked. We'd just come from the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village where they were given free as well as numerous other little free touches, so maybe the contrast made it a bit more obvious, but it felt mean.

5/5 for location and views, 4/5 for rooms Came here for a work conference, and I could have happily spent the whole time in the lobby, just working next to the fireplace with views of the waterfall and mountains. The grounds are beautiful, and there's a fancy little shopping area between the lobby/conference spaces and guestroom tower. The rooms themselves were fine. I had a beautiful view, which was the highlight. Otherwise, the rooms feel a little dated - no smart TV, no microwave (that I could find), a shower that would have benefited from a new shower head. The water from the taps was either ice cold or lava hot. And the desk, while nice, was clearly designed with a tall man in mind - it was a little uncomfortable to work at as a slightly above-average height woman. But, this would be a supremely romantic spot for a couple, and if I lived close, I'd be happy to pay the parking fee just to work out of the lobby on special occasions.

Had an enjoyable stay in great room just a few weeks ago. Special service shout out to - Mr. A.Poore overseeing front desk. After initial hiccup checking in, he provided excellent service going above and beyond Also bartender (didn't get name) handling food orders during the evening at Sandy's Pub - very friendly, and again handled small problem with kindness and customer focus. BTW, food entrees, well you never go hungry in terms of large portions... Appreciated on both fronts!

We stayed at Everline Resort the week of October 12th for our honeymoon and were excited for a relaxing getaway. The property itself is beautiful, and the staff at check-in were kind enough to upgrade our view, which we really appreciated — it was a lovely way to start the trip. However, several aspects of our stay were disappointing and not clearly communicated ahead of time. The closures of restaurants and shops were not made clear during the booking process, and once we arrived, we learned that the main dinner restaurant was closed until November and multiple resort shops were also closed. The poolside bar was closed, and the pub on property didn’t offer the same type of fun/specialty drinks. The activity schedule changed last minute — we were told to come back for archery on a specific day and time, but a new schedule had been posted with archery moved to a later date after our stay. The spa/salon experience was another frustration. The spa is open Thursday–Monday, while the salon is open Thursday–Sunday, but it was nearly impossible to reach anyone by phone — even during posted business hours — leading up to our visit. Front desk couldn’t book for us (only the spa could). The spa has both a menu and an online booking page, but pricing is inconsistent between the two, and the booking site doesn’t allow scheduling couples massages even though they’re listed on the menu. We called multiple times between 10–11 a.m. on Thursday (opening time) with no answer, and when we walked in just after 11, there were no openings for the couples massage we’d hoped for. The spa manager was kind and offered a discount on individual services or a future day, but that didn’t help in the moment. We ended up booking a couples massage in town instead. When we shared feedback at checkout, the front desk was understanding and offered a $200 credit, which we truly appreciated. Still, it didn’t change the overall experience or make up for how much was unavailable during our honeymoon. Overall, the mountain setting is stunning and staff were friendly, but the lack of communication and limited amenities made our visit feel underwhelming. I’d recommend visiting once everything is fully open and operations are more consistent.

Beautiful location in scenic Lake Tahoe. Staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Food is very good and pool looks like fun for families. The rooms are definitely tired and the property is desperately in need of renovations. The housekeeping service only came once in a three night stay? Also they charge $35 for self parking for a lot that’s a five minute walk away. I chose valet at $60 only to wait 10 minutes each time for the staff to walk five minutes to get car? It seems like the property owners not Marriott are cutting corners to maximize revenue.

This is a special place that my family returns to year after year. The pools/hot tubs are phenomenal year round. We also enjoyed walking around on the nature trails surrounding the property and enjoyed the fall colors in October. On this particular stay, we received fantastic service from the bar staff at Sandy’s on a busy Saturday night (the bartenders were killing it, and were a ton of fun to interact with, plus the nachos are to die for), and our stay concluded with a wonderful interaction with Brandon at the front desk at checkout, who provided the best customer service imaginable.

Amazing views all around!! Love the addition of little shops cafes and boutiques in resort. 3 jacuzzis were great too with 11pm closing was great and slippers and comfy robes. Self parking was easy and just have to walk a couple minutes up. The gym with dry and steam sauna in locker rooms was very great too! Would come back!

I checked in to this high end resort for a 3 day stay for a work meeting. Immediately after checking in I had an emergency with my two year old son back home which I had to fly home for. I asked the front desk if they could discount a little of my remaining stay. Within 5 minutes the GM approved for them to completely waive my reservation without any fees. The exact same day my wife had to cancel her Marriott to fly home (we are lifetime platinum Marriott members… meaning we’ve stayed a lot of nights with Marriott) she was to check in to her Spring Hill suites for a one night stay the following day. Marriott did nothing to accommodate or refund her. This is what GREAT versus Poor customer service looks like. Thank you Hyatt, you’ve converted us. Can’t wait to go back to this resort and experience it, it’s beautiful.
