"Back before the Arts District was a place people even knew about, Villians Tavern was that strange vaudevillian bar/outdoor music venue “by the river” that you went to for a crazy weekend adventure. Fast forward a few years and now there are more reasons than you can count to stay down there. Among our favorites? ERB. The restaurant/bar has excellent food (the burger is a must), a long beer and wine list, and a perfect outdoor patio for getting your night started." - amy clark, brant cox
"ERB is one of those places that makes getting everything right look easy. The Arts District spot has great cocktails, a never-ending wine list, fantastic bar food, an attractive crowd, and an outdoor back patio the crew will never want to leave. Definitely snag a reservation beforehand as crowds are pretty intense on the weekends, but trust that the burger and biscuits and shrimp roll and hamachi are all worth it." - jess basser sanders, amy clark, brant cox
"While ERB works for just about any occasion, this excellent Arts District bar/restaurant wis at its best when you show up for a casual big group meal. The inside bar area is definitely more for date night, so instead, take your group to the back patio, one of our favorite outdoor restaurant spaces in the city. The menu is small, but filled with fantastic bar food that includes pork belly steamed buns, perfectly baked biscuits, and one of the best burgers in LA." - brant cox
"Your friends want something fun but not crazy, cool but not douchey. And they really want good drinks and maybe some food. Does a magical place even exist? Yes, and it’s called Everson Royce Bar. This bar/restaurant on the south end of the Arts District is fantastic because you can have whatever kind of night you want there. Whether you’re in the mood to relax on the patio and have a couple beers and a burger, or get rowdy inside at the bar, ERB has your Saturday night covered." - brant cox, brett keating
"This popular Arts District spot has one of the best back patios in the city, and it’s a great pick for gathering everyone you like in one place. The massive space is lined with picnic tables, covered by a huge canopy, and glows under a galaxy of string lights. Most people come here to drink, but they also serve a solid food menu involving flaky buttermilk biscuits, shrimp buns, and a life-changing bar burger. Whether you’re looking for a post-work hangout for your entire group chat or just a chill date night plan, ERB can handle it all." - brant cox, nikko duren
