The Best Breweries in Vancouver, Washington and Its Surrounding Towns | Eater Portland

"White Salmon-based Everybody’s Brewing recently took over Battle Ground favorite Northwood. The menu is evolving with Northwood favorites like pierogies and meatloaf, and some new dishes like ginger chicken wraps and pork nachos will draw beer fans to Everybody’s gorge location. The Battle Ground taps now flow with Everybody’s stellar brews like Early Riser IPA, Uncle Stepdad’s Imperial Stout, and Co-Pilot Pilsner." - Rachel Pinsky

The cheese sauce on the prime rib sandwich is the same they use for their pretzels. It's good, not great. Wishing I had got the reuben. The chicken strips and fries were super delicious though. My son gave them a 10/10 and he can be hard to impress. The beer was very good! They make them out of a White Salmon Brewery. I'd come here just for the fries and beer! The music was a bit loud and twangy, the tables a tad sticky, and the prices steep. But the service was nice, the location for a small town off the beaten path good, and again the beers and fries on point!

Outdoor seating was perfect. Now the kale salad and Mimosa cider were the perfect combo! The salad was light, refreshing, and bursting with flavor — definitely my go-to all summer long.

Very popular restaurant here in battleground. The new company and owners are amazing! Food is good. Picture of a triple burger someone ordered and a double rainbow in the parking lot!

I walked in since I was early to another event. The staff is Amazingly attentive and friendly. The service at the bar is superior to most places. The beer was solid and the clam chowder was rich.

Shark Man

Google
The three-star rating comes from the overpriced drinks that were surprisingly weak, but the burgers and fries were fantastic. Just be cautious of additional charges, as not all dips are included!

Google
I removed my previous bad review and tried again...... no thanks. It feels crappy to spend my money at your restaurant. Customer service should be free, even though I'm paying for an overpriced dinner, I am not on board with an overworked server that has to charge me extra for every single thing that ought to come with my meal. Greedy is what I thought as I sat trying to enjoy a place I used to love. It wasn't inexpensive before, but the friendly people, the delicious food and the wonderful service made it valuable, at least to me. Now its overpriced everything from overworked servers who don't seem to like what they're doing. I'm super bummed to lose an awesome place I used to love to greedy out of towners.

Disappointing Experience at Everybody’s Brewing at Northwood, Battleground Location We’ve always loved Everybody’s Brewing in White Salmon, WA – it’s one of our favorite spots with its warm, welcoming atmosphere and delicious food. So when we heard they opened a new location in Battleground, WA (which is much closer to us), we were excited to check it out. Unfortunately, our recent visit was a huge disappointment. From the moment we walked in, it was clear this location wasn’t up to the standards of their White Salmon counterpart. The ambiance was off, with leftover decor from previous businesses still cluttering the space. It gave the place an unfinished, neglected feel. The staff, though friendly, seemed rushed and stressed, and the addition of a live band playing right in the middle of the dining room made conversation nearly impossible. It was loud, chaotic, and not the relaxing experience we were hoping for. As for the food, we were let down again. At the White Salmon location, the dishes always taste fresh and locally sourced, but the food at Battleground felt bland and mass-produced. We ordered two “Big German Pretzels,” which looked nothing like we expected. When I asked the waitress if that was how they were supposed to look, she confirmed that they were and added they're handmade, but they looked and tasted like something straight out of a Sysco Foodservice bag. Every dish we had was completely lacking the freshness and quality we’ve come to love at the White Salmon spot. We’re really sad about this, as we had high hopes for the Battleground location. Unless they overhaul the space, refresh the decor, and bring the same level of hospitality and quality food that makes the White Salmon location so special, we can’t see this location surviving in the long run. We still highly recommend the White Salmon location for anyone looking for a great dining experience. Sadly, we won't be returning to the Battleground one anytime soon. Hopefully, they can make some serious changes, but for now, it’s a big miss.

Yelp
I love this place. It's a total neighborhood brewery space in a beautiful building and the people are all very nice. The food is unique and delicious and the beers are really plentiful and good. They even have a really decent selection of craft cocktails. Some of the dishes seem a little different, but they're the most delicious on the menu. Don't miss out!

Yelp
Love coming to Northwood! German inspired restaurant along with German inspired food. Always have events going on and live music. Optional bar seating is always our go to and the service is great. Very friendly and efficient service. They have beer and cocktails for options. When I go, I always tend to get the Cajun chicken Mac & Cheese, it is so delicious. I get it with a side of garlic bread and it's so good! Their meatloaf is also one of my favorites too. This time around my husband got the smoky pulled pork sandwich which was tasty too. I never leave disappointed and definitely always want to go back! I highly recommend checking out this local Bg spot.

Yelp
New ownership. Menu pretty much the same with a few items that have been deleted. Mushroom appetizers one of my favorites still on the menu but unfortunately not the same. Suppose to be tempura batter but instead heavy battered. More batter than mushrooms. Service was very good but server was not aware of daily specials - which were delicious. Steak perfect med rare. Salads fresh. Daily dessert special - peach bread pudding with bourbon caramel sauce was divine. Beer and mixed drinks were perfect.

Yelp
Visiting from Southern California, we found a great lunch here. Service was friendly and helpful. Loved the beers, cheesy fries were life changing , sandwiches were delicious and filling, and our teenager stated that "the fries are fire".

Yelp
Had a lovely lunch on the patio with a friend. The umbrellas shaded us from the hot sun. We opted for the patio because the a/c felt too cool inside. Our server was great-very friendly and attentive. My friend loved her mushroom Swiss burger with a vegetarian patty. My Reuben sandwich was pretty good but the corned beef (or was it pastrami?) was sliced a little too thick so taking a bite was harder as it wasn't as tender as if it had layers of paper thin slices. It was a little dry as well. More sauerkraut and sauce would've helped. I know, I know-I'm a Reuben snob! It's one of my favorite sandwiches so I've eaten a whole lot of them over the years. Most people will probably think it's just fine! We both had tots and they were perfect! Beautifully golden, crunchy on the outside and tender inside. The Arnold Palmers were a little weak and by the time the ice melted they didn't have much flavor left. Still & all I think you'll find something to enjoy her. It's pretty inside and out and the service is great!

Yelp
If you like giant portion sizes, come to this place! The atmosphere is really fun and the menu is huge. They have every entree you can imagine and more. Our server recommended the crawdaddy dip, pirogies, and spinach dip. All were delicious, but not necessarily the best I've ever had. But after a few drinks, they hit the spot. I ended up ordering a salad and it did not disappoint. Not only was it the largest salad I've ever seen, but it was absolutely delicious. I wouldn't change anything about it! I was also able to try the Northwood Burger, French Dip, and the meatloaf. I can honestly say I would order any of those dishes again. As far as pub food goes, Northwood knows what they're doing.

Yelp
We sat outside for lunch and fell into the conundrum of not being ready to order a beer when the waiter came. Then it was really slow. Service was slow the rest of the meal. I ordered the Cajun Mac and cheese. When it came it didn't seem spicy at all. I ordered the garlic bread and it wasn't garlicky at all. I've eaten other things here and they tasted great, like the fish tacos. Overall a pretty meh lunch. We were here over an hour for lunch. Hope you're not in a hurry to get back to work. One last item, we didn't get an itemized receipt. I don't know if I've ever had that happen before for a place I went for lunch.

Yelp
We placed an online order for the German pretzel and a few other entrees. After getting home we opened up the pretzel box to find what looks to me like a pretzel and a half. I payed $12 for the pretzel and $4 for the cheese. I feel like we got cheated out of half of our pretzel. Especially for the price we payed I expected at least a normal sized soft pretzel. Will not be ordering again.

Nancy T.

Yelp
The new ownership possibly improved the food that we already loved. Happy to see that the menu has not changed.

Yelp
This place is a great go to for a good time! I normally get the chicken schnitzel but I ventured out and got the chicken sandwich. It was delicious it is basically the chicken schnitzel on a pretzel bun. It's HUGE! I wish they chose a bigger pretzel bun since the chicken is so massive I had a lot of chicken left over. The service was very nice, our waiter made a joke about my husband looking over 21 when we weren't carded. Very lively on a Friday night, not sure if it had to do with first Friday in town. Would eat here again!

Yelp
Great spot for an evening out! A lot of variety in the food and drink options and live music on most weekends. The servers and host team are always very welcoming. I've only had one experience where my meal didn't come out as expected, and the manager was quick to fix my issue right away. Some of our favorite dishes are the Butternut Squash ravioli, the Cajun Mac n cheese, and the meatloaf!

Monique J.

Yelp
We live in battleground and heard great things about this place! The food was amazing and great portions! I cleared my plate! The waitress was friendly
google avatar

Patty W.

Yelp
Good food and brew. Friendly service that doesn't hover. And good ambiance with the pub like decor you'd expect. In the last month, I've had meatloaf, blackened salmon, and a mushroom pasta. I'd say the salmon was my favorite but all were good. We love that this place is right in town, so it's proving to be on frequent rotation.

Yelp
My first time here and it was amazing! Our server Jewels was so attentive. We had a party of 9 and the place was packed. She took wonderful care of us and updated us on our drinks and food. I started out with a Manhattan and it was delish. Some of my coworkers had raspberry mojitos they were yummy. I will definitely be back to this wonderful brewery in Battleground! The food so good and lots of variety! The cheese fries were indulging and also the Hummus plate was the best!

Yelp
Stopped in for a lunch during the week and the place was pretty slow. Food came quickly and was very tasty. Everything tasted fresh and fries were very good. Only down side was the cost of food was on the pricey side. Service was very nice and checked in on us often. Could be a fun place on Saturday nights when they have live music for free.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
We love their food and the German ambiance. The amount of beer and cider on tap is phenomenal.

WalkWthME 2.

Yelp
Used to love this place but went there to lunch and was less than impressed. Mostly, at the crazy prices. $23 for a crispy chicken salad? It has about the equivalent amount of chicken as a kids meal. I know prices have increased everywhere but this seems like plain greed, just because they can. On the plus side, the waiter was friendly and gave good service. However, that won't keep us coming back.
google avatar

Karley E.

Yelp
Forgot the pictures but loved this spot. Great beer selection but not sure if they brew their own? I was thrown off by the "brewery" when all the beer options are beers from all over Wa/Or. Either way, many delicious beers to choose from and we all loved our food. Service was quick and friendly and I look forward to going back!

Janeen B.

Yelp
Live music! We missed it but they have live bands several times a month. Solid pub food for the price. Low key atmosphere. Drinks and food were both affordable. Sat outside but inside is inviting. Great service! Other than the spatzel being bland it was yummy. Large filling portions. The homemade soup tasted amazing.
google avatar

Andilee J.

Yelp
Love the food here! Haven't been disappointed in any of the entrees. Great liquor a d beer selection. Good family friendly restaurant as well as a fun bar area.

Larry V.

Yelp
Unfortunately, the food is not what it once was. After 6 orders of dried burgers, it's time to call it quits. But the Server was a rockstar.
google avatar

Heather M.

Yelp
The food here is erratic but it can be quite delicious. Have been here twice, burgers both times. First time was a BBQ one, very tasty! Second time was a Swiss mushroom and boy was that bland. Tots are great, nice and crispy. They can have some great ciders too. Service is very hit or miss but everyone is nice.

Rue A.

Yelp
We wanted to be supportive of the new restaurant owner change. It took 45 minutes to get our food. Food was lukewarm. Waitress was rude. She would turn her back on us and completely ignore us. The people that came after us was served first. It was expensive and not good. 0/10. Overall experience wasn't good. To top it off we all got sick. I hope you guys make the necessary changes. Here is the hard garlic bread we brought back.

Yelp
Yum! This place is amazing, I stepped in for lunch about two weeks ago and sat in the bar. The bartender Pierce was super welcoming and on top of everything. Great service - thank you. I ordered a Bloody Mary and the Cajun chicken pasta (recommended by Pierce). Both were exactly what I needed. The Cajun chicken was super filling and came in a huge portion, I ended up taking half home and actually ate it later on the night (I never eat leftovers). I'm in the area often so I will be coming back they have a variety of options on their menu I think anyone could find something they're in the mood for when dining here.

Richard B.

Yelp
This is a pretty good place to dine. There are few restaurant options in Battle Ground. The meals are large, quality of food has varied over the 3 times we have been there but all good to varying degrees. The hostesses have been great, and accommodating to our needs.

Yelp
Steak is amazing Cesar salad is bomb Hamburgers are delicious Service always soooo slow

Yelp
Great service! Lovely ambiance! Food seemed good, just a little sad they don't have happy hour menu.

Yelp
MACARONI GOODD AND I LOVE THEIR FRIES SOOOO MUCH. The employee's are very nice and i very happy that she give me cookie for free. The art on the walls are a little bit questionable but other than that, this place feels very cozy and i recommend it.
google avatar

Yelp
I come here very often and always have a great service and the food is always on point. The selection on tap is also great.

Yelp
This place is an alright place. We sat at the bar this evening as there was a wait to be seated at a table. We checked out the beer board and and kind of decided on a beer to drink. The bartender (I think his name is Vic) with the long gray beard ans short salt and pepper hair suggested a beer or two for us. We got our beers and I asked him for a menu as we wanted to eat dinner. It waited another 10 mins for the menu and no menu. I mean he was busy with bar drinks and taking orders and drink orders from tables in the bar. Finally I asked the lady behind the bar if she could take our order. She must have been the manager. Oh well, she took our order and after about 20 mins we got our food. The chicken Mac and cheese was delicious and so was the chicken snitzel sandwich. The bacon in the sandwich could have been cooked more tho. They could have given me more fries too. Food was hot too. Beers were $6.50 and $7.50 each and they are not even full pint glasses. Covid has the prices Everywhere sky high.

Yelp
We ordered what the menu called a "Big German Pretzel", and got the attached photo. I'm not sure if whoever made this had ever seen a German pretzel before, but they don't look like this. This one was more like half-a-pretzel with crispy ends. They also charged $4 for a side of microwaved nacho cheese . Maybe the beer is good, but they "weren't ready to serve" the one we wanted to order (a barrel-aged porter). Our entree was ok, and the only reason they got 2 stars from me. The service was ok, not great. The fact that we were pretty much the only ones in the place on a weekend night should have given us a clue about what we were in for...

Gary G.

Yelp
I honestly think there Lemmon dill salmon on wild rice is the best flavored salmons I have ever had. My wife got the blackened salmon which was also awesome! Must have something to do with the special sauces the pour across the top. You just can go wrong ordering anything on the menus... because it's always going to be an award Winning meal!
google avatar

David D.

Yelp
Very impressed with this brewery! I didn't try the food but the service and beer was great! I went with a friend and the ambiance was great!
google avatar

Scott M.

Yelp
Good service, pleasant atmosphere...not dark and crowded. Jambalaya was outstanding!! All of the food we had was really good!!! I think we have a new favorite for date night...
google avatar

CJ W.

Yelp
The atmosphere is fun and the food is Pretty good but kind of expensive. However, we do enjoy going a few times a year.
google avatar

Makenna R.

Yelp
I ordered the blackened salmon and my partner ordered the rueben. We came in at prime time on a wednesday night and we got seated and had our orders taken right away. The food came quickly as well and was hot and tasty. The staff here are very friendly and quite hilarious, one thing thats hard to find post-pandemic. I will definitely be coming back and if you've got Salmon on your mind the Blackened Salmon is the right way to go.
google avatar

Carmen M.

Yelp
Kind of slow service but the food is delicious. Love the desserts and the meatloaf, tho lately the bacon gravy has been too salty. Not too loud, easy to catch up in conversation with others.

Heather N.

Yelp
I've ventured many times- always tasty, family friendly, a well done drink and friendly staff
google avatar

Jerad G.

Yelp
Stopped in for valentines dinner with my wife. Nice little brewpub. I had the super burrito. It wasn't great. Seemed like they used zatarans box rice for it. Kind of wish I had tried a burger or prime rib instead. Saw those at other tables and they looked good. Upscale, great staff, a little hard on the wallet.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
Been there several times. The food is always great. The service is great and they have the best beer selection ever. I'll drop in just to test the newest brew selection. And my wife says the atmosphere is very nice too.
google avatar

Lanny H.

Yelp
We haven't been to Northwood for at least a year probably more. The food was great! One of the best burgers I have had in a really long time! Always busy, which is the same as I remember our last visit. We had a 10-15 minute wait to be seated. It was easy to hold a conversation, as the noise of the restaurant was average. They have a few TV's playing sports. Tonight was a hockey game, basketball game and baseball game. They have a diverse menu, with something for everyone. Our booth was very comfortable. We will definitely be back again.
google avatar

Mario M.

Yelp
This place has really great food and service. A bit of a family atmosphere, but that's why I always sit in the bar area. Bartenders are friendly and make great menu recommendations.
google avatar

RN R.

Yelp
The place is always packed so I have given it a few tries. Gluten free bread gets soggy really fast, wish they used a different product since you are paying extra for it, i'd rather pay more for something that holds up. Second time I came just after dinner for drinks. The bar top was full so we sat at a table in the bar area. The waitress seemed annoyed that we only wanted drinks, it ended up feeling pretty awkward. I think I need to give the food one more try before I decide if it will stay on our list of places worth going.
google avatar

Adrienne M.

Yelp
I cant believe I didnt find you sooner. Okay so this place right here. Amazing let me start with the staff super nice! Next they have all kind of cool and different beer that you may not get other places! I stopped in to kill sometime while waiting on my mom! So what better to go check out the brewey. I went into the bar and immediately i was greeted and was told its open seating I may sit where ever .Then I found a cozy table and sat on down. As I peaked through the menu. A cocktail waitress came by to say hello and see if I wanted anything to drink to start? I got a water to start while I checked out everything. There were food menus, happy hour menu, Drink menus and dessert, and chalkboards of lots of beer and a rotating cider!!!!!!! Wow talk about a variety! I ordered a Lemon Basil Cider by One Tree because I love it oh so much. I was so happy to see that selection I stopped looking immediately. Then I decided to try the Pork and Barrels! What is that you ask? Well it's a mound of greatness. Its crispy tator tots topped with a queso sauce and smoked pork. So good! One of the waitors walked by and asked Hey do you like hot sauces and I said not Tobasco or Chula no offensive I just dont enjoy those he laughed and said Try this Habenaro one we have here its good. Well he was right it added so much more depth to the dish. I mean it was already darn good it just made it Outstanding. SO shoutout to the guy that introduced me to the Hab Sauce you have changed my mind on the hot sauce game. They been stepping it up. As for this place customer for life. I was happy when I arrived and left just as happy if not more if that possible! Until next time.

Yelp
Visiting this small town restaurant was exciting hoping for a fantastic experience... though all we met was disappointment. Although atmosphere has massive potential, it is impossible to pass over ridiculous prices for simple food. No one is going to happily spend $26 on meatloaf or $19 for a protein free Cesar salad... I know times are tough but just stop. Meatloaf is historically a poor man's food. We purchased a "big" German pretzel that was pathetically disappointing, with an added $4 for a side of "cheese" (most every restaurant adds this to such an order because it's inferred) upon receiving the cheese it looks like your typical canned mean nacho cheese with absolutely nothing special about it. Nothing else was ordered because the extravagant prices and the disappointing appetizer did not encourage more waste of money. The manager was quick to remove the pretzel due to dissatisfaction which is great customer service. Although that is fantastic, they wouldn't have to lose money on such a low costing product if it was executed correctly. Too bad. We also ordered a "well" gin and tonic, a very simple and easy drink and it came out as a "specialty" cocktail that had ingredients you would never find in a gin and tonic and was overpriced. It was super disappointing and hard to drink. Overall a disappointing small town experience that will not be repeated.

Kyla B.

Yelp
Amazing food and atmosphere! Went out for date night with my husband. He had the amazing Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich! It came on pretzel bun, bacon tomato, onion, lettuce and Mayo with a side of crispy fries. I had the Beer Hall Bratwurst it came with two of the most juicy German brats smoother in a brown gravy, with spaetzle and braised red cabbage! The spaetzle was lack luster compared to the rest of the dinner. I also might be biased as I grew up with my family serving egg dumplings that are similar to spaetzle but are smoother in brown butter! Will be back again for another great meal. Last but not least we had one of their light larger sand the flavors we crisp, semisweet and smooth going down! The wait was a little long when there were open tables to be seated. Also the time it took for people to clean tables was slower than most. I have been here a few times and every time parties that came in after us got sat before us. Kind of frustrating.

Angela G.

Yelp
Always too crowded and we don't love their menu options. It's pretty popular with others but my family doesn't care for it.

Palm T.

Yelp
Food and service is always good. The location is nice Sometimes it gets crowded and noisy. I recommend their Schnitzel

Umschlagplatz H.

Yelp
Excellent food, great ambiance, excellent service. Their in-house-brewed beers are wonderful. The portions are QUITE LARGE, and some of the "appetizers" could easily be a full meal, maybe for TWO. Twice I have had the Beer Hall Bratwurst; it came with two very juicy, nicely-browned German brats, smothered in a delicious brown gravy, with spaetzle and braised red cabbage! And the other meals I have had were also excellent.
