The staff and security have always treat me with fare and respect, prices are a kind of high but hey that’s what you get for staying downtown 🤷🏽‍♂️.Rob and Lukia are the best also they always takes care of my puppy / son ghost, last but not least George I believe he is the heart and solo of this establishment and needs and deserves the recognition. He deserves to at be able to work the register full time, not when it’s need by other employees, plus he has seniority, well I’m just a patron who’s paying attention to details. Thank for allowing the forming to share my views and opinions :-)

We were in town and wanted some items for the room. This store was close to the hotel. The store is well stocked and well kept. The worker was courteous and friendly. What was most surprising and brought a smile to my face was his actions. There was a young boy in the store who wanted something, and his grandmother didn't want to purchase it for him, for one reason or the other. The worker gave the item to him at no cost. That says it all for!

Eves market rules!!! Incredible staff and great selection. Yes it’s a bit higher priced, but worth it for being a mini grocery store for those of us who love downtown! The people that work here always put a smile on my face when I stop by.

The gentleman behind the counter was more than pleasant and the security guard was willing and helpful. They were both funny. It was an enjoyable experience for a late-night stop. Also, the fruit was fresh. Great experience all around

Amazing everything. What a treat for me to visit this place. Amazing staff, visually appealing. I never knew that a place can display customer service better than I ^^ I wish I could shop here everyday all day. The establishment is very well lit, very well stocked with whatever you need and don’t realize you need. Amazing

A large market right off Michigan Ave, which is very convenient if you're staying inside the loop. They have the staple fresh fruits and vegetables, a case of cold salads, heat-and -eat items, a HUGE selection of beer and wine and a dairy case. You could easily prepare dinners from their selection. The cashier was very friendly.

Great beer selection, staples like cheese and bread and eggs, some fresh things these days. Awfully marked up for the convenience of being downtown because there is not much else around. Before today, I would have given this shop five stars. I've stopped in once or twice a week on the way from work for well over a year and was happy to pay for the convenience. Today, I took in my bookbag and purse--like I have for well over a year on my way home from work--and was told there was a new policy that I couldn't bring in my book bag past the front counter. Of course, the store gets to make whatever policies it wants, and maybe they found this necessary. But it's demeaning, and I'm not about to leave a bag with a laptop by the door. Given the convenience mark up, I'm taking my business elsewhere. Permanently.

This is a totally sketchy grocery store - like creepers may follow you as you shop sketchy - but it is a place in downtown to get groceries if you need them. Side note: with so many residential units in downtown Detroit, there needs to be a better option for the health of downtown. Anyway, we were able to find a couple of bananas and instant oatmeal which made breakfast tolerable for two people who were tired of eating out.

Convenient shop. They have a little bit of everything. Pricey but that's the price you pay for convenience. I love the fact that they have fresh fruit available daily. Minus one star because I wish they stayed open later or at least offer a walk up window.

Was in town from LA and staying at the Foundation for the NFL draft. We needed some staples for the room. This market was an easily walkable distance from the hotel and had exactly what I needed. Place was super clean and prices were reasonable for on a major city. Would definitely recommend.

It's really nice to have the staff of a store greet you when you walk in the door! The staff is friendly and helpful. Changes to inventory are being made with the addition of fresh fruit and vegetables. I was told there would be a butcher at a meat counter in the near future. The stock they carry is of high quality (except for the bread). The prices are reasonable considering the area has no major grocery stores. The management is quick to respond to requests- I asked for cranberry sauce and within a couple of weeks it was on the shelf. I'm happy to give them my business.

this place has a new owner and i've lived right next to it for over a year now - go almost every day. great people and great owner, there's literally white black and arab workers and customers and everyone gets treated well

Bought wine here a couple of times and it was bad both times. He must store it in the heat or outside because it was ruined. Tried to return it and the owner was rude as hell to me. He doesn't sure beer or wine properly and it turns bad but that's your fault. Other places to do that are nicer!!

She did not sell me tobacco products when I had $20 on $6 purchase. Inquired on alcohol and scoffed at her price, declined and just asked for my swishers. She then got an attitude and refused to complete the transaction. I hope the users of yelp see this and decide to support a better inn keep.

This place is deplorable! They have one of the most unreasonable cashiers working there known to the customer service industry! My wife recently starting working in the area and she told me about an experience her co-worker had with this cashier and now the differences he had with him is being taken out on her! The cashier stated because you guys were together you can't come here anymore either. Really this is discriminatory and extremely offensive. She even told me about a time when he under charged her and she was honest and told him what happened and is now being treated this way! DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS LOCATION! Unless you don't mind being discriminated against.

My favorite market! The staff are so incredibly kind and helpful. Love all the fresh produce and homemade food! If you have food allergies, they will absolutely have something for you. I've never been anywhere more loving and kind.

this place is an utter rip off. i know they're expensive and you pay for convenience but holy heck, to a point people! i can go to Eattoria and buy alcohol cheaper. or to CVS for half off. my back breaker to never go back after tonight was for one, ONE Two Liter of Coke. $4 fucking dollars! it's $2.45 at CVS. please for the love of all things holy, don't waste your money at this place!!!!!! reading peoples reviews of this place is palpable. friends and liars! i wish i could converse with some of the posters.

Wow. Serious attitude problem in this place from the employees or the Owner? It's like they are trying to have you NOT shop there. All we were trying to do is buy a few items and pay with a credit card. Simple. Instead, we apparently were bothering the employee. Will never be back.

Let me out the back door and walked me safely to my apartment when a guy I didn't know was waiting for me outside the store (after harassing me the whole way there) and made sure I got back safely. Really appreciate these guys

Stay away, dishonest business. Charged me 5$ for a regular 1L bottle of water and when I asked for a receipt gave me a piece of paper saying "Grocery".

I loved this place until tonite. The lady that owned it passed away she was so nice. I use to buy stuff for my bar n restaurant from her all the time. The guys that took it over are so rude. I picked up a few things n ask if the had NA Beer he said no then I went to pay with a card n told me I had to spend $5 to use. So I said never mind n he then told me never to come back n a name. Which as gay man very offensive. Don't worry I will never be back n I hope anyone in lgbtq community don't support.

Quality establishment. Come here every day for my guy Albert. Great service every day, I I've never left complaining.

They overcharge you and have terrible customer service. Only come here as a last resort. Otherwise, there are many other convenience stores in the area that are way, way better.

This place cares about their customers -- super friendly staff! Great craft beer selection as well (possibly the best in downtown). Would highly recommend this place for anything you might need in downtown Detroit

We absolutely LOVE Eve! One of the hardest working person I know. Her true dedication to her brand exemplifies in the above par customer service she offers. Now about the Market: very clean, well organized, & well stocked. Eve's got everything from homemade pizzas, beer, wine, & liquor, to toiletries and cleaning supplies. We often order pizzas and they are some of the best downtown has to offer! Open late on weekends. Secure building that is very lit just moments from residential downtown.

I love Eve's. They are quick and convenient. They just underwent a remodel and they are are carrying more of a selection now, which is great for people who live right downtown. Some things can get a little pricey and I see some complaints on here about that but the prices really aren't all that different than if I went down to the big chain drug store on Woodward. I've also only ever had one bad experience there and it was due to rowdy customers who were already being kicked out anyway. The guys who work there have never been anything other than nice and respectful to me.

I was there about 10 p.m. on a Friday night (Sept. 2, 2016 to be exact) and attempted to purchase a bag of peanuts for 50 cents. I laid the peanuts on the counter and handed the young male clerk a twenty dollar bill. The clerk threw the twenty back at me, with it landing on the counter in front of me, and said "I'm not making change for a 50 cent purchase." You could have knocked me over with a wet noodle. I said "you have got to be kidding me. I have never heard of such a thing. That is legal money." He then said "I don't make the rules I just follow them." My friend, who had just walked up behind me with a Gatorade, placed his Gatorade on the counter and paid for it and the peanuts with a twenty dollar bill without objection from the clerk. His purchase totaled a little over two dollars. I am a black female and my friend is a white male. This incident was in no way racially motivated but my friend and I laughed all the way home noting that the young man knew who to pull that nonsense on and to flip it when it comes to certain others. This incident was witnessed by one other customer in line behind me and the store's security guard. I'm not going to Eve's anymore nor am I ordering food from Bamz.
