Typical American fusion restaurant suited for corporate meals. When I heard that EVOO returned after the pandemic, I was excited to try them out. Just like other places around, it primarily caters to corporate clientele, but during our recent visit on a weekday night, the place was fairly empty. For the appetizers, we had the beef tartare and the rabbit rillette. The Beef Tartare was a fusion, merging Mexican flair with a classic tartare. The incorporation of pickled jalapeños, cilantro, and roasted peppers lent a familiar comfort to the dish. Though slightly dense, it was an applaudable twist. On the other hand, the Rabbit Rillettes was my favorite of the meal. The combination of foie gras with the sweetness of baked apples was delightful, and the accompanying celery root-apple salad injected a much-needed crunch and freshness. Unfortunately, the entrées were a bit disappointing. The Beef Tenderloin, while ambitious in its conception with roasted garlic cloves embedded within, faltered in execution. The meat seemed parched, and there wasn’t much flavor except for the Béarnaise sauce. The Chinese Box, while visually arresting, felt disjointed. The mustard glazed rock shrimp perched on top was flavorful, but the firm texture of the organic brown rice shifted the dish's balance, leaning it more towards a salad than a satisfying entrée. I’m not sure if EVOO’s return after the pandemic came with a huge facelift, but overall, it was a somewhat disappointing experience. It may be good for business meals, but probably not the best option for casual dinners.

This cute but sophisticated little restaurant in Cambridge is definitely worth the visit. It you are 1-2, sit at the chef tables and watch the food preparation and have great table side service. There food is the attraction here with an eclectic mix of delightful and healthy foods as well as incredible burgers. They blue fish was outstanding!

Google
Great food and service at a fair price. My favorite was the haddock with red curry and rice balls. The sous vide chicken was really good too! Also loved the parsnip soup!! All the ingedients are from local farmers thay they list on the meny, so that's pretty cool!

Google
Evoo prides themselves in having a locally sourced menu with a detailed list of their food provider's on the menu. To maintain their goal, they change the menu often. The food is awesome and expertly prepared, if a little pricey, you can expect to pay 26 dollars or more for a main dish.

I've been in the area so many times, but I'm sad to say that this is the first time I've stopped by Evoo. We came for lunch and had a great time! The service was prompt, the food delicious, and the portions were good. We were brought complementary bread and olive oil upon arrival, and then got the nuts and olives and fries apps- both of which were hearty portions. For mains, we got the rabbit confit salad and burrata salad, both of which were incredible and large enough to fill us up! The service was great and our water glasses were never left empty. We'll definitely be back again!

Google
Best service I've ever received, our waitress Hannah was extra careful to make sure a dish met our dietary restrictions and the owner/Manager was very sweet as well. They comped an item over a very small matter so they prioritize customer service highly. No complaints about the food

Google
Went for dine out week and the price was virtually the same as the a la carte menu. You could only choose either appetizer or desert, was expecting 3 courses. Having that said, I got the haddock in Thai curry and was delicious and the only reason to come for dine out week if you are interested.

We had a private event for a work function with ~75-100 people. While it was not set-up to accommodate my dietary needs when we arrived, Kristen was quick to jump in and help me get something to eat. The solution wasn’t just okay, it was AMAZING (probably the best GF pizza I’ve ever had!) She then made sure as desserts came out I was taken care of as well. A+ to Kristen and her impeccable customer service.

Yelp
Have been here a few times with a larger group Great space Available that fit us well We did a prefix menu and everything was great The service was excellent and the staff made sure that the glasses never went empty Be back soon !

Yelp
Came here for an office event hosted in their private dining room. This place smells heavenly and fuels the appetite! There was a pre-curated menu for the event with choice of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. The drinks menu covered beers, wine, spirits, and cocktails and the server was helpful in suggesting wine pairings with our food. I will come here again to try their happy hour menu!

Yelp
The extent to which they use local ingredients definitely earns them the five stars. I value beautiful micro greens and other special vegetables from farms. The non-alcoholic mojito was tasty but a little sweet. The bread starter was great-lovely homemade crisp super thin bread sticks, and baguette to dip in EVOO and bean spread. Our entrees were awesome. I got the pasta with fresh peas and fiddleheads. Other members of the party got quail- which had a lovely citrusy pomegranate sauce, a salad of delicate greens with pieces of smoky rabbit, steak tartar, a stand-out creamy cheese and salad starter, and the fried chicken. We had a key lime pie dessert drink, apple crisp (with amazing salted caramel ice cream), and this pecan boozy cake with cream on top. The entrees were the stars- could have probably gone without dessert in retrospect.

Yelp
EVOO is based in the bottom of our apartment complex alongside a number of other restaurants. We chose this particular place due to the interesting menu and convenience after we had signed our lease for the new space. They boast being "Boston's Most Eclectic" restaurant for the past few years and I must say that is probably a well-earned accolade. They have a diverse menu that will have something for everyone regardless of your dietary restrictions or preferred cuisine. They pair that with an equally diverse mixed drink, wine, and beer menu so you don't feel disjointed during your visit. We split the heirloom tomatoes as an appetizer and had the Bluefish Fillet and Chinese Box as mains. Everything tasted fresh, was full of flavor, and presented in a very appealing way. The size of the dishes were average, so we did not leave hungry which has occurred a few times in our brief time in Cambridge with a trend toward tapas in a number of local restaurants. We sat outside so were unable to experience the noise level and ambiance of the dining room, but their patio space was a fantastic experience. The servers were attentive and ensured our drinks were never empty or that we were never waiting too long for anything. While that may seem trivial, it has been a downward trend we've experienced in a number of restaurants over the past year or two so to have such an attentive server was a pleasant surprise. The noise level would be what you would expect for an outdoor area that has multiple patios adjacent to each other but never required any raised voices or yelling to hold a conversation. If there is one area that EVOO lacks compared to the other experiences we've had in Boston and Cambridge it would be the value. While the individual dishes are moderately priced, it seems to add up more quickly than we would anticipated when coupled with a few drinks. That does not mean it is not worth the price being paid, it was just not one of the better values in the end that we have experienced over the past 3 weeks of exploration. We will definitely be back to try the happy hour and lunch menus and are very pleased to have this option literally right downstairs from our residence.

Yelp
I should never assume... but I assumed this would be an Italian focused menu with some authentic dishes but it was a Asian fusion style, kind of confusing cuisine offerings. Random dishes but not too bad? Reasonably priced and nice service. Shares a space with Za and good for group/work outings that won't break the budget!

Dhlsll D.

Yelp
Confusing menu options. I found the food to be overpriced and of sub-standard quality. I dined there with several friends and we all shared the same opinion. I would not go back. They also charge you for re-fills on flat soda that taste watery, six dollars if you ask for bread and the list goes on. I am not sure what the administration fee is on top of the pricey bill and will have to Google that one.

Miko B.

Yelp
EVOO prides itself on its eclectic menu which will have something for everyone, regardless of cuisine preference or dietary restriction. Although the quality of the food here isn't bad, the prices are way too expensive for what you get. The appetizer I ordered ("Lettuce") was a salad that came with tofu, puffed rice, and miso vinaigrette. My main course ("Chinese Box") was a rice stir-fry with shrimp and beef. All in all, my experience here was pleasant, although nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Have worked next door and walked in one time like 4 years ago and read the menu (Which changes daily) and thought, Nah... Ill pass.. Then the other day when going out for lunch & just being soo bored with the selections here as we go out to lunch EVERY day I was like you know what, Lets go!!! OMG... So first I knew it was connected to Za, but never realized its like Connected Connected... Got the fries & Until you have them & their ketchup you dont know GREAT fries, OMG I Love them so much... Got some Olives & some Pasta. The bread was insane good... The pasta might have been the best thing I ever ate. OMG it was soo good, perfect size for my new self & just full of flavor & everything was soo fresh.. Bummed because Im worried now that Ill never be able to have it again as the menu is forever changing. Will def be watching the menu to go back if it comes back up!

Yelp
Started the meal with black bean hummus, bread, and garlic bread sticks. Hummus was good - nice kick with the cayenne. Bread was a little hard like it has been sitting out and the garlic sticks were a little salty but still very good. Appetizer was the rabbit confit salad. Immediately bitting into it I was met with intense smoky and creamy sensations- the salad had a wildly complex set of flavors layered on top of each other. The rabbit smacks you in the face but it's brought into balance by the citrus dressing. The nuts and cherries added texture and a little bite that also balanced the citrus dressing and rabbit. Once again I think it was a little too salty for me taste but great nevertheless. I decided to order cod for my main meal which I don't normally order. The first couple bites were a little under seasoned (which I thought was odd given the opening act). Then I found the pesto which added the missing salt. The cod was just a little under done which is fine with me but might turn others off. The risotto was correctly done and a really nice complement to the fish. The lemon butter sauce was very good. The heirloom tomatoes were perfect as were the peas. At this point I was stuffed and no room for dessert which I was a little sad about. If the food had been seasoned properly, I would given them 5 stars. Much to like here and worth trying (but some things to work on).

Yelp
This place is so salty. I went for dine out Boston, and the food was mediocre--very fancy, very salty, nothing to write home about. They give you three course options, but the dine out price was actually two courses... so misleading. The chicken sausage burger was, like I said, salty with not much besides plain BBQ flavor (not a pleasant BBQ sauce either). I chose the carrot cake dessert, which ended up being the best part of the meal. My friend ordered the bluefish (also exceedingly salty) and the cobbler for dessert, which I would recommend over the carrot cake. Service somehow took forever even though there wasn't a huge lunch crowd. For some reason we had to wait 10 minutes between finishing our entree and getting our dessert.

Yelp
EVOO food is experimental which I really like. We went for a lunch and they were a slower, more of a savor each bite than a trying-to-eat-in-an-hour type of place, but with that said, they use all local ingredients which is really awesome! The bread was warm and the spread was amazing! The waitress recommended the Cod and told us it was a 10 out of 10. It was very good, but I don't know if I would have said it was a 10 out of 10. I would definitely recommend it for anyone, but be warned, the portion size is pretty small. We were all starving by late afternoon. The atmosphere is really nice. We were there for lunch so it was quiet and cozy. For the price point and amount of food, it didn't blow me away, but cute spot for good food.

Yelp
One of the best and favorites so far in Boston! Farm to table concept and the menu shows what farms the food is from. The service is EXCELLENT!! Our waiter-Dan- took really great care of my coworker and I. Cocktail/beer/wine list has a great selection. I would definitely come back to try more dishes. Their menu changes daily and desserts are fantastic

Yelp
Came here for lunch today! It's only 10 min walk from the biotech companies. From outside, it doesn't seem to have much, but it's beautiful inside. I got the tomatoes meatballs soup as my starter. It was pretty good but a little bit heavy. The portion was large too. Then I got the Thai cod fillet as my main, which was good but the smell of fish was strong. The I got the pumpkin pie ice cream which was not my fav, it was too sweet! Since I didn't need to pay, I think the food is worth 4 stars.

Jenn T.

Yelp
Came here for dinner as we were staying nearby in the area. The atmosphere here is pretty nice, while trying to be fancy, the food is alright. We ordered a few things for appetizers, a salad and the clams, which had w great broth and flavor. For main dishes, we got the Chinese box which was pretty much just rice with stir fry veggies on top. We also go the braised beef, which was mediocre as well. The roasted chicken was alright as well, nothing special but probably the best thing we had all night. Not one of my most fav finds in Cambridge, but a decent meal on the whim. Service was pretty decent and the place was nice.

Ann R.

Yelp
I would give six stars if I could - the food is amazing and the service is excellent! I had to find a restaurant that would accommodate 22 colleagues without having to rent a room or pay the entire bill myself - and EVOO delivered! Hannah and Kristen were excellent to work with - and made everyone feel welcome. They offered us a paired-down menu to ensure that everyone would receive their food at the same time. Everyone praised the food - and most people scraped their plates clean. I would definitely go back with a group or just my family! Everything was incredibly fresh and perfectly prepared. I had the salad and filet - and would get them again! YUM!

Yelp
After many visits to the sister restaurant Za, I've finally had the opportunity to get a full meal at EVOO last week on a beautiful, sunny evening. We were seated on their terrace and had a three course meal based on their restaurant menu. After sitting, a basket of bread and olive oil arrived as we glanced at the menus and placed our orders. To start off, I had pork pâté which came served with bread, whole grain mustard and a smal side of fiddleheads. The pâté was pretty good but it would have a been nice to see a couple of corniches on there - the fiddleheads were a pretty interesting twist and surprisingly tasty though - I had never eaten any until then but was happy to have the opportunity. For my entree, I was in the mood for lamb and was able to get my fix with an interesting slant on the Mexican-inspired dish of poblano relleno. This version had some beautiful, big relleno chiles that were stuffed with the lamb, corn, basil custard, tomatoes, zucchinis and some cilantro. The portion was quite generous and quite spicy as well. It was beautifully plated and the chiles were golden brown - impressive work. The spiciness came through after a while though and made finishing a bit difficult. My scouting work on Yelp had me see that their chocolate truffle cake with marshmallow cream was the desert to try there and I settled with that. The presentation was absolutely phenomenal, and I had never see marshmallows like that. The cake was extremely rich though and I could barely eat half. It's definitely something that you'd want to share. The truffle on top of the cake was also very tasty. Despite some wonderful food, the service, on the other hand was quite spotty. It took a long time for our dishes to come out and they also screwed up our alcohol order - it was later comped though which was nice on their part. One of the waiters also accidentally hit my friend while dashing by and never even blinked an eye; hello, rude much? Overall the meal was pretty good, the restaurant had a good vibe and the service was decent. The prices seemed pretty good but my only issue with the place is that I was expecting food that matched their name more. I mean they are called EVOO and you'd think that they'd had more extra virgin olive oil in their menu but the only time I had some was with the bread basket. And even then, it didn't even taste all that great. I'd definitely go back though.

Allie S.

Yelp
This place is alright, not my usual type of food. They have unique dishes and the menu frequently changes. I came here for a work lunch and had the burger. Their current burger is composed of a slaw, soy-based sauce, and mashed sweet potatoes. As someone who prefers a plain juicy cheeseburger, the burger was definitely original and tasted okay but had too much going on and the meat itself was not impressive.

Whitney S.

Yelp
I came here on a Saturday night with a date around 8pm. It has a very inviting atmosphere which changes as you move throughout the restaurant. The area near the kitchen is very well lighted and I really enjoyed sitting in the booth seating adjacent to the open kitchen. I had the tenderloin...which was great...and my date had the pre fix which he chose as the squash soup (which he said was thick and creamy with a hint of spice), followed by the juicy chicken breast and then the flourless chocolate cake. He claims that it's decadent. Reasonable prices and cool vibes. Check it out!

Bertrand L.

Yelp
Our small party was focused on finding a venue close to Sloan after a day of meetings and we weren't disappointed with EVOO and lucky we were able to get in although it was the middle of the week. The table was able to sample the duck, haddock and burgers all of which were excellent and done to some interesting tastes. The adult type beverage fare was fairly standard- nothing really outstanding, but a reasonable offering nonetheless. However, while no one had enough of an appetite left from dinner a suggested port did a nice job as an after dinner aperitif. Service was excellent.

Tara T.

Yelp
EVOO is alright. I have come here a few times, mostly for business meetings during work days. This past time, we were seated right away at 12:45 despite being a tad late for our 12:30 reservation. I ordered the sweet potato and cheddar croquettes, and it was good -- a little undersalted and there were slightly too many sweet elements on the plate for a lunch main (sweet potato, baked beans were slightly sweet, slaw), but the croquette itself was well-fried with good kosher salt and pepper on the crust, and the slaw was not overdressed. Entree cost $17 which is steep for lunch, but if you need to have a sit-down, quiet sort of ambiance, this place isn't a bad option.

Jonny S.

Yelp
First rate! First rate food, first rate service, first rate business practices and sustainable mindset. As a constant traveler, finding a healthy planet-oriented restaurant is always a challenge in a new city. To come across one that has the organic and sustainable farming bases covered is a blessing. To find one that not only has the bases covered, but serves up exquisite, delicious fare is simply remarkable. Such was my experience this evening. From kind, attentive, friendly staff, to an organic scrumptious meal, to a Leed certified building with their own vegetable garden on the roof, EVOO is a rare gem indeed, setting the bar of how sustainable restauranting is done right.

Lisa Y.

Yelp
Great Beef Tenderloin! The carrot cake was incredible and fresh. Great vibe but service was alittle slow to large parties.

X M.

Yelp
EVOO offers a diverse menu with great food presentation. The service was very good. I was curious to try Chinese box shrimp. It was carried out of kitchen in a Chinese takeout box. The dish was served upside down from the takeout box. This dish alone contains a variety of food, shrimp, cole slaw, rice, pulled port BBQ, etc. It was a very interesting concept. However, all of these ingredients were cooked differently. Putting them together in one little takeout box made the flavors all blended together, and made it taste not flattering. I would have to say I am not a fan. I will probably come back again and give other dishes a try.

Amy G.

Yelp
I've never eaten at EVOO but have hosted many corporate events (50+ attendees) and highly recommend it as it's my go-to venue in Boston. Here's why: + Heavy passed app selection is delicious and events are well staffed with excellent service + The managers Hannah and Kristen are simply amazing and so accommodating. One of our events got snowed in due to a massive nor'easter but the staff were super accommodating and moved it two days later with no problem or surcharges + The space is nice and well known amongst Bostonians as a great venue + Online booking and wine/food selection is super seamless + You pay a very affordable fixed fee that goes on until they close

Adrienne Z.

Yelp
The food here is incredible. The setting is a little weird, but I'm always pleased by the food. Inside the restaurant, it's not particularly cozy, though there's a lot of space between the tables which is nice. There are some things consistently on the menu - duck confit salad, Chinese box that are very good. They also do a great job with local and seasonal options. I'm always pleased with my experiences when I come here.

Steve M.

Yelp
1 of the finest lunch and dining experiences in the USA is EVOO. In the Top 10 restaurants in the USA, up there with Daniel in my opinion, is EVOO. How anyone can review them at less than 5 stars is beyond me. Localvore, farm to table, slow food, non-GMO and similar - they have it all perfectly prepared and served. Also, it is not too expensive.

Jen W.

Yelp
This place is not for everyone, so don't bring a group here thinking the menu can please just about anyone. Of the dishes ordered at my table of seven people, only two seemed enjoyable (duck and haddock). The wings were so spicy that both people who ordered them left them behind (and each left hungry... also, pickled opinion rings... why? why though?). I ordered the haddock, it was fine. Wouldn't do it again, not because I didn't like it, just because I doubt I'll ever crave it again. Two burgers at the table were also mostly left behind. Think the flavors were off (and maybe the fat of a melty cheese was missing, even despite the other eclectic toppings). If I HAD to come back here again, I'd hang at the bar and get apps v giving the entrees another whirl. It's worth noting that the service was excellent and we didn't flag any of these issues to our server. Nothing was glaringly "wrong" with the food, we just didn't enjoy it and won't return. Update - The two people who ordered the wings got sick later that night. Don't think they were undercooked, think the spiciness was so severe that their bodies actually rejected it.

Jeb B.

Yelp
Had a great dinner here on an early weekend night. It was summer so we ordered the fish special and seasonal salad. Ingredients were fresh and the space was nice. We sat outside on the patio during the summer and enjoyed a nice meal after kayaking around the Charles. Visited another time for a quick bite and had an unusual burger, but, tasted great nevertheless. Would recommend if in the area.

Charlene C.

Yelp
Came here with a coworker for lunch on a Wednesday noon. We had made reservations, which we came to find was unnecessary as the place was surprisingly empty at lunch hour. My coworker ordered a burger that came with a side of fries. I ordered the fettuccine. Honestly one of the best fettuccine I've had. The restaurant is farm-to-table and the menu shows all the local farms that the restaurant buys each ingredient from. I was hesitant on ordering pasta because it might be a bit heavy for lunch, but it was perfect. The fettuccine was creamy yet light with a splash of tangy. It had small pieces of asparagus scattered in the dish. Great balance. 5/5 would definitely come again.

Caroline H.

Yelp
Just wow! We went here for restaurant week. One adult beverage, 3 course meal for $60, all in. Chicken was moist and parsnips were great too. Lettuce salad was good but I wish the beets were on top of the salad. Flourless chocolate cake was amazing! Just wow! I will be back.

Chris P.

Yelp
Good food but very overpriced. Came here with some coworkers for lunch. I got the Sweet Soy Glazed Seared Sockeye Salmon Fillet with Kimchi, Korean Rice Cakes, Carrot - Radish Salad, Tempura Crunch and Mushroom Mayonnaise. Sounds like a lot doesn't it? For $20 it was actually surprisingly small. It tasted great, but again I didn't think it was worth $20. I also got a drink called Free the Bees ($5) which was lemonade with honey and lavender. I actually liked the drink a lot but I get more for $5 at Starbucks than I did with that drink. The restaurant itself is clean and the service was friendly. It wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't great either. I can't really imagine myself coming back though....

Amanda G.

Yelp
Went here for Restaurant Week and first off, the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was sweet, smart and gave solid recommendations on what to eat. I love that the new EVOO is now attached to Za, and you have the option to sit at the bar in between both restaurants, and order off both menus, in addition to a funky bar menu on the blackboard overhead. Note to self - going back to sit at the bar. My boyfriend loved every bit of his meal - I wanted to but frankly was not as in love with my choices. I had the arctic char sashimi, followed by the chicken. Both were OK, very funky as is typical of EVOO, but neither wowed me. The saving grace was my dessert, a warm molten chocolate cake with a ring of marshmallow cream around it (really Fluff that's been torched). It was TO DIE FOR. The rest of the meal eviscerated from my mind, I wanted to live inside this molten cake. So, I encourage people to try EVOO, they have a very interesting, diverse menu of options, including lots of creative uses of red meat (which I don't eat so can't speak to) and they have a year-round 3-course $38 prix fixe which is fun. I'm definitely going back to the bar, ordering pizza from Za, dessert from EVOO and bar bites from all. As for ambiance, pretty casual for a fine dining restaurant, open and light, so don't stress about dressing up if it's not your thing.

Yelp
You know what this place gets points for? Quirkiness. Quirky server Quirky decor (lots of mid-tone, orange-y shades) Quirky menu Quirky flavors Let's start with our server: she was like everyone's slightly eccentric grandma. A little absent-minded ("Oh, did you want bread while you were waiting 25 min for rest of your party?") and a little sassy ("You look like you wouldn't like things that are too sweet"). Tres fun. The decor: I just remember orange. Not a bad thing. But lots of orange tones. Then again, maybe I'm color-blind and no one else saw this. Or maybe I have horrible color memory. The menu: they want you to do the 3-course prix fixe option. There's only about 5 things not in the prix fixe. Why? As quirky grandma explained, that's how the chef likes the flavors to unroll. Yes, unroll. So behold, options like: lamb's head soup (gar?), string oats-y soup thing (forget the name but it was very unusual) and the most interesting combination of greens, nuts and meats around. The flavors: My boyfriend had the oat-y soup, which was delicious, served with roasted chestnuts. My friend's salad was arugula heaven (I love me some Obama salad) and I totally forget my own app but remember loving the potatoes it came with. Entrees: chicken all around. Friend and I had the same chicken (first item on the list) and boyfriend had the chicken + chicken sausage. So much chicken! We were all cawing by the end, haha. Seriously, though, it was all very well done and the flavors were very unusual. Orrrr....quirky, you might say. Salty with sweet, spice-laden with...sweet, tender with somewhat dry (parts of the chicken), savory with spice. Okay, I am repeating myself but that is because the flavors didn't always contrast, just vary. Finally, dessert. Get the prune cake thing. Interesting ice-cream. Get the cardamon thing. Don't get the one with toasted marshmallow unless you have room for it. The boyfriend thought he did and was very, very wrong. Ten minutes later, we were all groaning in pain trying to help him finish it. Overall, come here with a sense of humor and a wide palate and you're definitely in for an experience.

Yelp
I was incredibly impressed with this place and feel guilty I haven't come here earlier! Kendall is becoming a hot spot in general and this place seems to be one of the leaders. - Bread and breadsticks -- these just come out with the meal but wanted to note that they seemed a bit too salty, although I was excited to have more than just bread. - Seared foie gras - delicious and the accompaniments matched it well. The foie gras was extremely fresh and sweet, and had a smooth, consistent texture. You're gonna need more bread for this! - Salmon tartar - this was good, but the dill and crunchy bits took away from the original salmon's flavor and texture, rather than complement it. - Rabbit ravioli - amazing!! I had a dream about this the following day. The texture and flavors were so great -- even the texture of the ravioli pasta was dreamy. My date had never had rabbit, but he still enjoyed it. - Pork belly sliders - these were good, though a little bit uninspired. (While I love pork belly, I feel like it's also the safe way to be tasty these days). Basically, pretty standard yummy pork belly with some lettuce and sauce. Overall, a very solid set of great dishes with complex flavors and exciting ingredients. It'll definitely be on my list of top 5 in Kendall and you should try this place out.

Yelp
It was spectacular!!! We had a weekend trip to Boston with friends and did lots of research to find the right spot for dinner, within walking distance to our Airbnb. The open kitchen, farm to table menu, fantastic service, and perfectly prepared food made our night!!! We will be back!

Yelp
I wish I could give EVOO 3.5 stars. In a nutshell, I thought the atmosphere was really nice, with modern and clean looking decor and an open kitchen. The food was so-so, and a bit pricey. The restaurant itself is well lit and decorated with warm shades of red and orange. They have the most unique collection of ceilings lamps (see photo) which makes for something interesting to look at. We sat right next to the open kitchen so we could see the chefs making everything and get a preview of what different dishes looked like, which is a cool experience. I found the food to be a little expensive for what it was. I ordered/shared the lamb's head soup, lamb belly tamale and sirloin steak, and they all tasted sort of similar. EVOO used some sort of brown sauce that had a bit of a kick to it, tasted a bit of soy or fish sauce, and at least to me it tasted like they used copious amounts in all 3 dishes I happened to order. While it tasted ok, I'd rather not have the same thing 3 times in a row. Also, the entrees are a bit pricey, at $26 per entree and $11 per starter. You can also just eat two starters and that would be enough food. Dessert was some sort of gooey chocolate cake - yummy (and frankly hard to mess up) but not particularly differentiated. The service was definitely great though and parking is convenient. You can park in a garage next door and with validated parking it's only $1-3 dollars depending on how long you spend eating.

Yelp
Came for some dinner at prime time on Saturday night and the place was most lively. I immediately noticed the Autumn colors everywhere - a very welcome touch that really warmed the ambiance up. My friend opted to go for a mix of apps for her meal including the smoked rabbit confit salad and country pate. The salad was very tasty with its sweetness and acidity balanced by the saltiness of the confit. Not much to say about the others though...pretty forgettable. I enjoyed my arctic char that matched nicely with the apple-celery root slaw on top, but the parsnip puree was bland and washed out the flavors of the scraps of risotto. On the sweet end, we wrapped up with the apple crisp and salted caramel ice cream. Pretty good although I wish there was more of the yummy ice cream. Our server did a generally good job throughout the meal, but his demeanor was a little off here and there, eg. we were given two of the apple crisps only to have him come by and snatch one up rather abruptly with few words and no apology...can you say awkward? 3 stars for a fairly good meal that wasn't too pricey ($11 for apps and $42 for the three course pre-fixe), but the food on the whole wasn't very memorable and I probably wouldn't consider returning unless someone else wanted to have an event here.

Yelp
The food is fine, but no better than you'd expect for the price. The view is normally pretty boring (just a couple of buildings), but it's amazing during the 4th; you can watch the fireworks from inside, with decent food, A/C, and drinks. The server was kind enough to seat us near a window with a good view of the fireworks, without us even having to ask.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and a couple of his family friends. The menu is very small, which usually means it's very specialized. There are a few staples on the menu, everything else changes daily. The place is located right underneath the Watermark, near Kendall Square. It has a very nice ambience and I love the restaurant decor, very modern and chic. There is nothing to critique about the service, it was just perfect. My boyfriend and I tried the Three Different Spring Rolls. When he ordered it, I didn't even realize they were all different. I really enjoyed it because it wasn't too oily or heavy. Apparently, the way you eat it is you take the leafy greens that they give you, wrap it around the spring roll, dip it in one of the two sauces and voila! It is now ready for your enjoyment. For my main course, I got an entree that's a constant on the menu: Duck Duck Goose. It is Duck Confit, topped with Duck Foie Gras (yummy!), surrounded by Goose breast. It was delicious. I don't think I cared too much for the duck. It was a bit dry considering it was dark meat. I did, however, love the slices of goose breast. My boyfriend ordered the Turf n' Surf, fried chicken sausage and crab, which was delicious as well. It's a bit on the heavier side for me, but he thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not something you can order all the time though. We went on to share an Apple Rhubarb Crisp with Toasted Oat, topped with pecan and a scoop of sage ice cream. So good! I'm a sucker for warm desserts served with ice cream. I especially enjoyed the sage flavor. I was a bit hesitant at first since I've had other herb ice creams before and was turned off by it. The sage taste was very subtle though and it wasn't too sweet at all. I couldn't get enough. Overall, dining experience was wonderful and food was delicious. If the duck, the supposed star of my entree, wasn't dry, I would definitely have given Evoo 5-stars!

Yelp
Restaurant week means mass emails with friends, a scurry of Open Table Reservations, and countless hours gazing at menus and reviews. Restaurant week means empty wallets and the constant feeling of guilt. Restaurant week is my glimpse into the wonders of the food world: a glimpse at the constant innovation and creativity; a glimpse at the passion of chefs and staff alike. EVOO was the perfect opportunity to experience the food world. My entree was the Seared Arctic Char Fillet with Smoked Pig's Skin Risotto, Parsnip Purée and Creamy Apple-Celery Root Salad. This proved to taste as beautiful and exotic as the sound, with the tartness of the root salad blend in perfectly with the crispiness of the fillet skin and the creamy (and slightly chewy) risotto. The portion was of perfect size, as upon finishing the dish, I felt it needed no more, no less. The Chinese Box which my friend ordered, however, fell short of expectations as I was reminded of a better version of the classic Chinese take-out restaurant. But props to EVOO for trying - it's difficult to create legitimate Chinese food, and this one was delicious, though perhaps not worth the price. Dessert was a heavenly ending to the meal. Taking advantage of "family style", we ordered every dessert on the menu that day and shared. Besides the Buttermilk Panna Cotta with Rhubarb Compote, which was refreshing, light, tangy, and crispy, the other desserts failed to impress. The Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake with Toasted Marshmallow Cream was heavy no one could handle the dessert after a few bites of the artery-clogging masterpiece. The Carrot-Pecan Cake with Rum-Raisin Toffee Sauce and Cream Cheese Ice Cream was creative to say the least, but again, it proved too heavy to truly enjoy after the first few bites of goodness. To me, wrecking the beautiful plated dessert with just a few spoonfuls and then having to waste the rest does not equal sustainability. At least those were a few delectable bites.

Yelp
Went for a business meeting at lunch and had a reservation booked ahead of time for two through Open Table. Sat inside at a nice table in the middle of the room. Had the Chermoula Marinated Atlantic Blue Cod Fillet with Chickpeas, Braised Greens, Charred Little Tomatoes, Cilantro and Strained Yogurt. It was very fresh tasting, flavorful, and the right amount for a fancy lunch. Normally, I wouldn't eat that much at lunch, but it was very good for a business meeting. The bread for the table along with the EVOO dipping oil was very tasty. My colleague had the Chinese box which she said was very good as well. We finished up with cappaccinos, which were also very good. It's at a convenient location in Kendall Square. I'll go back.

Yelp
EVOO is one of the better restaurants in Kendall Square. The ambiance is nice, the service is okay and the food is above average. For those of you who did not know, EVOO stands for Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I dined at EVOO for a business lunch with a party of 6. The service was slower than we would have liked but this may have been because our group was larger than usual during the very busy hours of lunch. I started my meal off with strawberry gazpacho and toasted almonds. This was light and refreshing...perfect for the summer time. For my main course I ordered the spaghetti with stracciatella, little tomatoes, roasted figs and arugula pesto. This pasta was tasty, but the portion size was extremely small. Value: Although the food at EVOO is pretty good, the prices are a bit unreasonable. $9 for soup is a bit too much. The portion sizes are not generous at all either. I understand the restaurant and chef are probably going for gourmet style cooking, but they need to change something to stimulate business flow. Option 1: Increase the portion sizes or Option 2: Decrease the prices on the menu. Overall, I did enjoy my meal at EVOO and will probably return primarily because of the convenient proximity to work.

Yelp
So, we went here solely based on the zagat rating. I'm not sure what has happened since their good food rating with zagat but I know good food and this was not it. I usually only feel compelled to write reviews when the food is particularly bad because people should know before spending a lot of money on dinner what they can expect. We ordered drinks. I guess they were fine but not great. The Catcher In The Rye and French Kiss are the drinks and I'm pretty sure the first drink wasn't made with rye as advertised and the second was ok but really sweet. We then ordered the fish dip with potato chips. The chips were oily, not crunchy. The dip wasn't good. For dinner I had the Chinese Box and my husband ordered the crepe. Oh dear. The crepe was deep fried? Which was strange and unappetizing. The Chinese Box may have been better but blah. I don't know. This restaurant was baffling and depressing. We didn't get food poisoning, so that's good. Empty on a Saturday night is always a good clue. We won't be back and I wouldn't spend money for food here if I were you.

Yelp
The place is nice with warm colors. They have outside seating, always a plus. The food is definitely fresh and prepared when ordered. You can tell the ingredients were well selected. This is a good casual place and good for a first date. Not really romantic, but share a delicious dessert and your are good to go.

Yelp
The best! Discovered this restaurant on the Off The Beaten Path Food Tours Kendall Square Food Innovation Tour, and it was so incredible there. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and you could tell they really care about local seasonality and fresh, quality food. The menu shows which farms the food is from, so you can make quality choices. Definitely run here soon! Kendall is lucky to have this place.

Yelp
The cocktail menu is a huge disappointment. Nothing seemed inspired. I ordered an old fashioned and it came with the cherry & orange slice muddled in the drink. The drink was pink and not tasty. My date had the jalapeño margarita. It was better but still not well made (the jalapeño was pickled). Also, the $6 popcorn was over cooked (black kernels), not buttery and a big flop. We stopped here because there was a live band playing outside on a beautiful day. Won't be coming back since the drinks are not delicious nor inspiring.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my meal here. Nice to find a restaurant with good vegetables in their dishes. Locally sourced too! Food came fast. Great atmosphere.

Yelp
I'm a huge fan of this place. I prefer it for dinner over lunch, as their food is served in small portions meant to share and eat over a long meal. The space is so beautiful and looks great for work events. For being in such a busy area, reservations are pretty easy to make. I love that its a farm to table concept restaurant. The servers were incredible nice and friendly! A little pricier than you would expect but I would highly recommend.
