We had dined here once previously and had a wonderful meal and experience out on the patio so when we decided to try and have a luncheon outside somewhere several days ago we decided to go here since it was on our way to Waltham. An added benefit was their express lunch menu. When we arrived we thought the place would be very busy as the parking lots were full, but there was lost no one in the restaurant. We were seated out on the patio and ordered and after 25 minutes I mentioned to my wife so much for an express menu! Perhaps it was just to get people into the restaurant after all! Our food finally came, and our server seemed a bit flustered only to find that my wife's sandwich was not prepared correctly. So she said it would be just five minutes to replace and I had asked for some mayonnaise, but she told me she didn't think the restaurant had any. Twelve minutes later she arrived after "searching the whole walk in refrigerator" to find mayonnaise, she brought me a little cup of it, but she had forgotten my wife's sandwich. She went back in and we never saw her again, but 10 minutes later her manager arrived with my wife's sandwich and apologized and he left. My wife took one bit of her vegetarian Caprese sandwich and immediately discovered that it had chicken in it, which she had expressly said no to when placing the original order. It was an option, but this was a vegetarian sandwich and was honestly the reason we came here in the first place. I got up and went in and got hold of the manager and heatedly told him how the sandwich had been prepared. For a restaurant which holds allergy issues so highly I cannot tell you what an EGREGIOUS error this was. He went out to the patio to retrieve the sandwich and by this time my burger and dime size caesar salad had long been eaten, so my wife refused to be served another so they prepared one to go and we left, 55 minutes later, four sandwich's prepared and one eaten (mine).
Rather than leave a YELP review immediately this was such a serious problem that I decided to communicate with management directly about it, and I got a response but in the end, their resolution was none and we are left as impressed with the restaurant group as we are the restaurant and its food itself. I wouldn't bother to attempt to get a meal at another of their locations since they are pretty much all in the same region.
We dined a few days later at their sister restaurant, the 110 Grill, where we have consistently had good meals at every locations we have dined. I decided to have a burger, and when it arrived I asked if it was indeed an 8 ounce burger, because it was literally double the size of the 8 ounce burger I had gotten at Eviva Trattoria a few days prior. I said chalk it up to yet another reason for us to never return.
