Ok. I love this place. I’m so glad it’s here. But I’ve got some notes: My wife and I are currently drinking in the courtyard. The weather is lovely and we can see the crows, which is always worth commenting on. The music is problematic tonight. White boy reggae covers. I said I feel like I’m at a crappy frat party. My wife said she feels like she’s at a crappy resort. And in the past our drinks at the Corrales have been served in glass. Tonight they are plastic cups. Back at the crappy frat party or crappy resort. Wait…. Are they playing a white guy reggae version of wicked game AGAIN!?! No, just a song that sounds like it. Despite the Sandia view, yummy beer, cool outdoor spaces, blooming forsythia, we are considering Friday night at Lowe’s. Wonder what they’ve got on rotation. Update: the music keeps going and my wife and I are swaying to it. We’ve gotta get outta here. It’s infiltrating. Update: I think they’re on to something. The groove is real

Favorite brewery… maybe ever. Their house beers as well as seasonals are incredible. Seems like an effective blend of tradition and innovation going on. IPAs are excellent. Highly recommend.

My partner and I have always been fans of Ex Novo! My only gripe, in the past, has been the inconsistent service. However, the last few times we have been it has felt cleaner, and like they know what they’re doing and talking about. Josh, in particular, has been stellar! Some of the best customer service I have ever received anywhere, is when he’s behind the bar. He is Knowledgeable, genuine and great energy. While at the bar top and very busy, he never waivered offering the same treatment to every guest, for HOURS. You got a good one, guys! Oh and please bring back Cactus Won the Lottery! Can’t recommend this place enough

Google
We had a private event of about 60 people at the Tap Room. The whole team went above and beyond in ensuring our event was a success. Sarah, Stevo, and the bar staff were all lovely and super helpful. Thank you all so much! I'm so happy we chose Ex Novo for our event.

My running group AlbH3 needed a start point on a Saturday morning during the Balloon Festa. About 20 cars parking is hard to find in a small town. This place was perfect. After the run we ended here. There are large seating areas to enjoy some great brew. Food trucks were out front allowing us to have a meal while relaxing. I buy this company’s beer in our local stores, but had never gotten the chance to visit the brewery. Staff were very accommodating & informative. There were even a couple families relaxing on the grassy areas. As you can see in the photos it has a very relaxing area to drink. Now to the beer. The Massive Ascension was my 1st beer because of the Balloon Festa of course. Great taste, not heavy, pine and citrus taste. My favorite is the Perle Haggard it is German style Pilsner. I have this beer in my refrigerator right now. (Description Taken from their website) Sweet bready malt, straw, notes of honey, floral, earthy, noble hoppy crisp finish, refreshing. This is now my favorite place in Corrales NM

My boyfriend Frejdyn introduce me to this awesome gem of a place. I fell in love with this place due to you can bring the kids the dogs the whole family has outside entertainment it's not just a brewery! This place dose not serve food but .... they instead always have the coolest food trucks which just adds to the whole outside experience. Plus they have music and games for adults and children like corn hole ect.... and the view is always amazing we love hopping on the motorcycle 🏍 the scenery is always epic. Good beer ,good food ,good atmosphere equals a wonderful time with family, dogs and friends. I don't know about you but I'm all about that life☺️😊 8/11/23 just went here yesterday and the weather was perfect for music and games and drinks and food outside. I love this place so much the atmosphere and the outside setting is almost magical. My boyfriend Frejdyn likes to take the motorcycle up there with a blanket and lay it out on the lush green grass and we just have a romantic fun time there due to the atmosphere. If your looking for fun outside doors for you two or family or even with the dogs come here I promise you that you will not be disappointed!

Google
Super cool brewery in the heart of Corrales. 🍺 They have a great selection of beers! We tried the bourbon barrel imperial stout flight (which we highly recommend) and the DIPA and a juicy IPA. The staff are so nice. Indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating has heaters. We highly recommend this quaint little brewery! 🍻 🍷

Google
Atmosphere is inviting, buzzing, with great vibes. The beer selection is outstanding—each brew, from the crisp Perle Haggard Pilsner to the bold Mass Ascension IPA, are crafted with such flavor that it’s clear they’re passionate about their craft. My personal favorite (Taste the rain, bro?). The staff is terrific, however Josh’s phenomenal customer service couldn’t go unnoticed. He went above and beyond for me. So exhilarated I found one of the best brewing companies in the United States.

Yelp
Pineapple Ginger Sour: Pretty light on the fruit and ginger, could've done with more of those flavors Kolsch: Is a good kolsch Penguin Tuxedo Stout: A rare good stout with a good name! Usually only IPAs get the fun names. Great beer! It's A Dry Heat: A Mexican Lager heavy on the lime juice, hands down the winner. Nice and light on the ABV and absolutely delicious, I'd order this again

Yelp
Stopped in for a few brews and a Sami from Cibo Italian food truck. The home lavender wheat, golden ale, and Pearl Haggard went down too easy! The tunes made the vibe delicious and the service was top notch as always!

Yelp
We enjoyed the beers that we had. It has a very nice atmosphere, nothing fancy but very comfortable. They did have a very pretty area across the parking lot which was beautiful. We didn't realize it was there until after we sat down in the main building area. You do have to get your own beers so you are not waited on. They had a food truck which we did not try so can't comment on the food.

Yelp
Friendly service , and cold fresh and crisp beer. I tried a flight and another beer and all were excellent. Very modern and clean.

Yelp
I really enjoy going to Ex Novo in Corrales to hang out with my family. The relaxed vibe is perfect for a chill day, and the food truck selection nearby always has something delicious to try. Great beers, friendly atmosphere, and a spot where everyone feels welcome!
google avatar

Heidi A.

Yelp
Beautiful location. It was a nice day so we definitely enjoyed the outdoor seating. I don't drink that much so I was happy to see some non alcoholic drink options on the menu, it was very cheap as well. The service was quick and friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Good beer, but a little disappointed that the beer selection was so limited for being at the brewery.

Yelp
A great place in a beautiful area! Absolutely love this place and how they have everyone order at the register to keep it organized! Then they came around to check on us. They have their own food truck, i didn't try it but it smelled and looked absolutely amazing and I want to try it on my next trip because I will absolutely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Food Truck. Green chili Bloody Mary. Balloon Fiesta morning open. Great venue. Contrary to other untrue crappy reviews you may read - friendly staff, people of all backgrounds. Excellent place to share time with others.
google avatar

Vanessa B.

Yelp
Ex Novo is so fun to be at. I have enjoyed going with friends and the ability to have our children around is great. One thing that is hard is that you cannot cross the parking lot with your drinks which makes it harder when you have people wanting to hang out at the side with corn hole, grass, and games. Overall, the drinks are great, atmosphere is wonderful, and there is almost always food there. Service has always been great when I have gone.

Yelp
Located in Corrales, Ex Novo is a must visit regarding the Albuquerque area brewery scene. They've expanded a lot in recent years and the space is awesome. I went for a special event with one of the young professionals groups I am a member of and we had the the original area blocked off for the event. It's super cute but they now have a much larger area right next to it. We were there on a Thursday and they had a food truck there, parking was a little limited because there were so many people around. I got the frozen pineapple margarita and it was delicious. Super refreshing but also a good amount of alcohol in it still without tasting too strong. One drink was plenty. Friendly reminder that Corrales is basically one way in and one way out but its worth checking out. There appeared to be a lot going on in the area.

Yelp
Ex Novo Brewing is a brewery that simply never disappoints. My most recent experience with them was no exception as I had their Dripping Sun Farmhouse Saison. Saisons as of late I feel like I haven't seen or had very much of so it was great to have Dripping Sun because it had all the flavor traits I hope to see with a saison with it's yeasty tartness and light demeanor this beer continues to release my praise for this brewery and their many beer options!

Yelp
Came out for drinks at 7 PM On 10/28. First time here. No greeting or welcome from staff. Sat down at a table and after 10 minutes of waiting I was surprised to learn that you have to go to the bar for service when there were only four tables and two bartenders working. Bartender with the short black hair was abhorrent from the get-go. She was so incredibly rude and obviously did not want to be at work. Her entire demeanor was hostile & so awkward. She did last call at 8 PM even though the establishment closes at 9. We ordered two margaritas and she gave them to us with no salt or garnish. Just a glass of pale yellow. Humorous and pathetic. Wasted my money at a place where employees in basic positions can't even do the bare minimum when it comes to customer service. Also, your batched margaritas taste like lemonade and the recipe should be reworked by a professional. For the love of God please do better.

Yelp
I've never been to Corrales before so I wasn't sure what to expect on the drive there, but it was surprisingly very scenic. The brewery itself has an expansive beer garden area with heated lamps and some shade, but I opted to sit inside to escape the wind. There were so many beer options and I liked that I was able to sample one I was curious about before committing. I went with the Sun Sinks in the Wes which is a sour variety that I absolutely loved. It's described as a smoothie style sour with mango, passion fruit and pineapple and is probably my new favorite! It was so easy to drink and reminded me of a hot summer day.

Yelp
After trying several samples of beers we went the Mountains & Mountains. It was reallllly delicious! Our beertender Ashley was friendly and knowledgeable. We got the braut with fries from Sandos & Sandias. So yummy. And the secret fry sauce was amazing. This was our first time here and we will be back. Nice sized indoor seating and when the weather warms up they have a patio area.
google avatar

Yelp
Great brewery out in Corrales, a bit far from abq but awesome spot with outdoor area, can bring pups (best part), excellent beer. Their "most interesting lager" is delicious, easy to drink. They do have a small indoor area across the parking lot which is interesting. The outdoor bar is small and forming a line is awkward but whatever. They also have a small area with cornhole that happen to be taken up by a very small wedding. They have food trucks, happen to have Stuffed Lust which is delicious! Their beers are delicious, just wish they were closer to Abq! Give it a try!
google avatar

Mia M.

Yelp
I have wasted 2 years of my life not utilizing my close proximity to this fantastic brewery. This isn't a brewery that just has 8 IPAs on the menu, which I love off the rip. They have cocktails, amazing food truck choices, and a mean Pilsner on top of other great tap choices. Besides that, the location is top tier. Sitting outside peering at the mountain under the greenery makes for a fantastic afternoon. Parking is easy and abundant. I loooove you ex novo

Channing B.

Yelp
The is fantastic and the BBQ food truck burger was delicious! Outdoor seating was a bit chilly but they had propane heaters
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Ex Novo is one of the best spots in New Mexico to get delicious beer that we have found. This tiny little taproom is serving up some of the most flavorful beers in/around ABQ. Their sours are always tart and tangy but super smooth. They also have one of our favorite Pilsners in town. It's mellow and light and so smooth. They've upgraded their space since we first found them to include "the corral" which is an open outdoor space so kids can run around and play while parents enjoy their drinks and grab food from one of the delicious food trucks they always have around. It's also just a great spot if you prefer to sit outdoors. The corral is just across the parking lot from the tap room and has its own bar. If you prefer a large outdoor space, just verify the corral is open before heading out otherwise the taproom has its own little patio too which is nice it just gets crowded.
google avatar

Randy G.

Yelp
EX NOVO is a very nice place to go to in Corrales, the people are very nice, also can't wait till the downtown taproom opens up
google avatar

Taylor O.

Yelp
I wish I could give this brewery 6 stars, but I guess 5 will have to do. While visiting my parents, they wanted to take me to Ex Novo because they come here every Tuesday for taco Tuesday where they have a family-run taco truck in the parking lot. Let me tell you, you MUST order the crispy quesadilla.. I still have daydreams about it. Anyway, back to the brewery. The entire taproom is very aesthetically pleasing with plenty of outdoor seating. We sat inside because it was raining but the inside had large garage doors that were open so there was a lot of air flow. The beers were outstanding and they had so many great options for every type of beer lover! I can't wait to come back here for another taco Tuesday when I visit again!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
A very nice and welcoming brewery. The beers are great but the layout and patio are very cool. A perfect place to sit outside and have a beer with friends. The servers and bartender were great and super nice. I haven't found a nicer brewery in ABQ.
google avatar

Dee Dee P.

Yelp
We enjoyed a beautiful Sunny ABQ afternoon on the patio at Ex Novo. We were too full from lunch to partake of the offerings from the food truck of the day, but they were tempting - stuffed sopapillas. We did enjoy the comfortable, inviting patio with gorgeous views of the Sandias. We sampled a lager, a smart IPA (capybara quinciniera), and one of the best mules I've ever tasted. They make the mule with your choice of vodka, and I took the suggested berry infused vodka - delicious! Ex Novo has a rotating round of various food trucks, each one on a different day. Ex Novo also has indoor seating of the weather doesn't cooperate for patio dining.

Yelp
I love this place. The location, the atmosphere and the beer! Always a nice drive out to Corrales. It has this peaceful vibe about it. We have been here a few times but the most recent had me thinking it was time to write my review. We arrived and noticed the line. The service people were so quick to acknowledge us and were very honest about the wait time. The place is very clean and they have strict COVID -19 guidelines. We were seated at a large table and again immediately taken care of. I love their Mexican Lager! We sat and and enjoyed a few. Nice place and if you get a little hungry, you can always order from the designated food truck.

Jane B.

Yelp
Great service and awesome atmosphere. Good for families or a date/hangout with friends. The beer list was varied and good. Food from the truck outside was delicious, and the outdoor seating area was unique. Definitely a memorable spot that I would visit again.

Yelp
It was my first time here and WOW it was such a great place! Located in Corrales. Ample amounts of parking. Got there around dinner time. Just in time to enjoy some delicious bbq from Might Mike's Meats. Great atmosphere, plenty of seats indoor and outdoors. Beer Menu is elaborate and staff is super friendly. The courtyard was beautiful especially with the string of lights. Loved it! Thank you we'll be back again!!

Robert P.

Yelp
Food service was mixed. Ordered with QR code on table. Order was supposedly never received but our card was charged for it. Took awhile to straighten out the billing We had a couple of kids with us and we were told by one person it was ok to play in the corral. A couple of minutes later a lady from the bar came and told us we were not allowed in there. Not very kid friendly but seems to be dog friendly. Good thing Casa Vieja is a very nice option
google avatar

Scott J.

Yelp
ExNovo never disappoints. Relaxing patio and the best beers in town hands down. Highly recommend
google avatar

Iain C.

Yelp
Great outdoor spot when the weather is permitting. If you're looking for a spot to bring the pup or read a book you can enjoy this area with company or peacefully. Beer options and merch are incredible too.

Heather G.

Yelp
My wife, our dog and I just had a great time at Ex Novo. The Mexican Lagers were awesome, Caitlyn provided great service, and the cheese steak and fries from the food truck was awesome. Middle of the day, is the best - no crowd, all shade - try it!
google avatar

Laura B.

Yelp
I love the new outside beer garden. There are overhead heaters. Please remember to turn them on for the customers. There is an open area for little ones to run around during the day. There are food trucks, or you can run across the street to get a pizza. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about their beers. Just remember to turn on the heaters when people start showing up.

Yelp
We don't make our way out to Corrales for a lot of reasons but we happened to be in the area for an event and decided to stop by Ex Novo. I had heard good things about it and we were able to visit the original in Portland before the Corrales one was open and it was impressive. I love how the brewery/taproom looks like a casita and it fits in perfectly with the general vibe and feel of Corrales. Not many people were outside because it was hot AF outside so inside was pretty crowded but we lucked out and got a couple seats at the bar. Service was excellent and they were generous with the tasters. We weren't familiar with any of their beers as they were all completely different from what we had in Portland but every one of them that I tried was excellent in its own way. The mexican lager (The Most Interesting Beer in the World) was great along with Pearl Haggard (pilsner), Cactus Blossom (sour-ish berliner weiss), a couple IPAs, etc. It was really hot inside too since they opened up the doors to overlook the very neat modern desert chic patios but the breeze made it bearable. Overall, I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area. And you better go the speed limit going/coming!
google avatar

Hector B.

Yelp
I never made it to the home location in Portland, even though I was there last month...ugh! This is my sister's favorite place to come. I will say that it's ALWAYS BUSY and hard to get a decent seat and parking a pain in the arse. I know they opened up another sitting area, but I've been there when it's been open. I'm sure I will...and I'm sure it will be awesome to sit down! Now how to fix their line to get a beer???? All that being said, this is a great beer location in Albuquerque...not the physical location, but the "place to get a beer location" (make sense?). Beers are solid. I like most all of them. Their seasonal selections are pretty fun and service seems to be good. I said "seems"...hard to tell when they are just pouring beer behind the counter?! Too busy to make the place more special....
google avatar

Emma H.

Yelp
Favorite brewery in NM when I was living in rio rancho on a travel assignment. Good selection of beers. Great outdoor area. Would recommend!
google avatar

Kiva C.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a beer as every time I drove past it was always busy and I was not disappointed. As a bonus they had Rio Tacos out front which were awesome. It was midday on a Tuesday so it wasn't very crowded the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Love that they have beer, wine, cider, liquor, and non-alcoholic options such as sudden death. They have water stations throughout and recently opened up with corral which extends their outdoor seating. They have some awesome merch as well. Their branding is very simple and clean. The decor is earthy and modern. A great place to hang out for a few hours.
google avatar

Todd R.

Yelp
New place in Corrales, NM. So the place looks great. Plenty of seating outside and inside. There is an area near the road and in the back. Seems designed for big future plans. Don't know if they come ask you for what you want to drink or you go to the counter. There are two workers and neither have asked what we would like to drink. So yes it is counter only service here. They do not come to your table. I like that there are not a bunch of crazy's running around and you can just sit and have beer
google avatar

Anthony E.

Yelp
I Miss Ashley! It was pretty hot in there. Making mixed drinks takes up too much time. Everybody is so nice there. This is still my favorite place to go to chill.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Ex Novo is turning out to be a big hit in Corrales! Seating is at a premium with a greAt selection of beers. They have food trucks every night if the week! Outstanding selections to! The staff is friendly and the ambiance is great! I recommend if you're in Corrales stop in in! It is pet friendly to!
google avatar

Rebecca W.

Yelp
I love Corrales, and now I love it even more! This brewery has great atmosphere, excellent beer, and friendly bartenders.

Chris F.

Yelp
What a great place for a beer. The outdoor ambiance is perfect especially on a spring or summer day. The beer is hands down the best in town. They have a great variety of staples and there are always good seasonals that will leave you wanting to come back time and time again. The service here is also great. They recently went to table service and they do a good job of checking on you fast and getting the order in quickly. The guy in the tie dyed shirt named Ian is also pretty cool and super friendly. He made us feel welcome and did a great job serving. Shout out to those pouring as well! Cheers!

Tristen H.

Yelp
Bad service. Got in line to get our drink. But was told to be seated & wait for a server. Our tie died server didn't come to us for over 40 mins after he gave us the menu. In total, I waited an hour before I just got up & left. I recommend not to come here.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
I came to meet up with some friends, and from the beginning the staff was rude and unprofessional. It felt like they did not want any business to be there. That having an impromptu group threw them for a loop and they couldn't handle having people at the brewery. We wanted to spend money and buy merchandise and the staff made it clear they were not interested in making money on Saturday. I'll never return. There are too many other choices with better drinks and a more professional staff to choose from. If I could give no stars I would. I'll be sure to let everyone I know the unpleasant experience we had at Ex Novo.
google avatar

Maya O.

Yelp
Beautiful spot, sweet area, amazing drinks, even locally made liquors, and food trucks!! But the beer is the highlight! Go here.

George B.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this place for sometime and finally did. Had several of their Imperial Stouts- all were some of the best beers I've had in some time. The German Chocolate Cake was especially tasty. Had great pizza from a food truck the first time. Went a second time on a Sunday and food trucks were gone by 5 pm.
google avatar

Dorothy C.

Yelp
Stopped in after a motorcycle ride .. Staff is friendly and helpful. Loved the Porter.nice space to hangout and can play games across the street at The Corral.
google avatar

Jillian R.

Yelp
Large patio with fire pits and heaters make this the best covid spot to have a cold one. If you get a sit on the front patio you'll be in for a great view of our beautiful Sandia Mountains. The beer is delicious. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Alyssa K.

Yelp
Great outdoor seating area. It's nice to have a brewery with great cocktails too. Kid and dog friendly!

Yelp
Our first try coming here failed dismally and we ended up at Boxing Bear. Apparently the sign was down for some reason and we never found it. Yesterday, a Sunday, 8/11/19, my wife and I visited an old friend here named Jim. We found nirvana. A perfect evening, just after a summer thunderstorm, with a double rainbow over the Sandias to boot. This place was packed. The crowd had a laid back, relaxed, Corrales vibe. We sat at a table outside, in back, and there were tables inside and in front as well. The female bartender, Heather, smiled and served us up a flight. We tried the Mexican Lager (The Most Interesting Lager in the World), Pineapple Wheat (Pina Corrales), Prickly Pear Berliner Weisse (Cactus Wins the Lottery), and the German Pilsner (Perle Haggard). My wife favored the Mexican Lager and I loved the German Pilsner, since it had a smooth, crisp finish. We both picked the Pina Corrales second in our flight. We both ordered pints of our favorites. I selected a $1 Ex Novo bumper sticker to add to my growing collection of microbrewery stickers on the back of my Jeep. They had a selection of four or five pretty cool stickers by the register. About an hour into our visit the crowd died off. Luckily, my wife was driving, so I guzzled down two more delicious pints. I tried the Bohemian Pilsner (Easy Come, Easy Go), which was a bit more malt forward than the German Pilsner, but still easily drinkable. Of the two, I preferred the German more. I ended the night with a pint of the hazy pale ale (Really Tied the Room Together). This hazy ale was super juicy and contained just right amount of hops. I tasted a slight fruity flavor which really complemented the hops. I could seriously drink this all summer long. Super refreshing. I'd say the hazy pale ale was my favorite for the night. My wife loved the Mexican Lager so much we picked up a sixer. Heather told me they are distributing cans of Ex Novo beer to Total Wine. The entire crew here helped us over the course of the night. A shout out to Heather, Josh and Vanessa for their fast service and helpful suggestions.
