Loved the vibe and Jamie was amazing. AMI jukebox and just a lot of very kind people. Drinks were good and the energy for a Monday night was stellar.

Don’t bother going to this place if you’re looking to get out & socialize: it’s against their rules. A group of twenty-somethings actually invited me to play pool & I was told that the owner was watching on the cameras & said no to having too much fun. Absurd! It’s a bar. Learn your business.

Atmosphere is usually really good. There is generally good conversation to be had with everyone including two of the bartenders. Judd and Jamie are rock stars and they make your experience welcoming and great. When they are behind the bar there is fun to be had by all. Unfortunately when DEB is there, her pour attitude and crummy service makes it less pleasant place to be. Also the fact that she is completely incapable of keeping your tab straight, it a must that you pay cash for each round. Today she saw me standing at the bar when I arrived and didn't bother to come down to serve me. About 5 minutes later she served 2 other people that walked in the door well after I did. After I made a comment she finally decided to get me a drink. She then decided to get upset when I wanted to pay cash for my drink then refusing to accept a tip. When I ordered 3 shots after that and paid for them, I tried to tip her again along with the first tip and another on and she walked away. This is a great place to hang out at but a piece of advice, if you walk in and Deb is working behind the bar, turn around and go up the street. She is the reason why I can't give Excalibur a higher rating.

Great place with lots of character and several pool tables and shuffle board and pinball and darts and outside deck and...... like I said, Great place!😉😆

If your looking for a bar that isn't too fancy or too run down, this is a perfect spot. It is actually very nice and they have nice pool tables and basketball hoops out back. Usually theirs a young crowd but that still suites me being 30 years of age. Perfect spot for a chill night.

Went there this weekend with 2 friends. Ordered a pitcher, and while pouring the drunk bartender out of no where unprovoked in any way begins saying things to us hope "I sure hope you aren't a Biden supporter". Thinking maybe he has a weird sense of humor we engage a little bit and telling him that we are, and he begins straight up making fun of us, and gave us a half pitcher of foam. while we were there the same bartender was arguing loudly with another patron. I spoke to another worker there and he said this is pretty normal and that he would kick him out, but never did. Very weird time and likely will avoid going back.

A couple of lazy bartenders. The place is dirty. Mostly younger crowd at night. Maybe that's why they think they could be lazy. I don't care what your age is you deserve better than this place. Will never give them another dime of my money. There's enough bars in the area that appreciate customer!

Would give it 0 Stars, but sadly Google won't let me. An elderly woman was serving my friend and refused to serve him drinks because she said that his ID was clearly not him. Yes he has gained a few pounds since he last took his picture for a new ID, but it is clearly him, just 4 years younger and 40-50 lbs heavier. He already has been fighting a hard fought battle with depression ever since his significant other walked out on him last year after 5 years. So you can clearly see how this is going to set him back in his recovery. And what's most frustrating about this is the fact that he had just started to accept himself again and feel some self worth. And now, after being reminded of his wait gain in a public setting like this getting everyone around him involved in his embarrassment, you know that he is hurting deep inside. This is absolutely unacceptable and your restaurant should be ashamed of itself. I don't know if she had lost her reading glasses, or if she was just having a bad day and gets off on public humiliation and fat-shaming, but the discrimination is unacceptable and if he had any self confidence right now he really should sue for compensation for the mental damages and strain that he's now surely going through. Also PS - the lady made the burger with no gloves, touching all of the toppings with her bare hands right after clearing plates. That's disgusting and shouldn't be tolerated. My word of advice would be a hard pass on this place.

The bar tender Jamie was rude and impatient. She appeared to be very irritable every time folks went to the bar. She told me that she usually closes the bar around 12:30 or a little closer to 1am during weekdays. She did a "last call" at 1am tonight and got upset when I ordered a tequila sunrise just briefly after. She said that last call wasn't for mixed drinks. I used to love coming here back when the male bar tender worked here about 8months ago. Now, my buddy's and I will not return. Not very welcoming or homey these days. Lol, I'll be glad to spend my money elsewhere.

Good dive bar, clean descent service. Price was reasonable. Plus they have Rummikub to play.

This place seems like it has seen better days, but has a ton of potential. I enjoyed the pool tables. Also, there's a great space outdoors. Huge patio and basketball hoops too. However, the bartender seemed extremely intoxicated, slurring words, and acting like he had a few too many. Also I was standing at the bar to order, bartender and I eye contact, and then he watched someone walk up next to me and quickly went to serve them instead. Overall, I'd go back especially in the summer time to enjoy the patio.

I have been going here since my young 20's. I was recently in town back in November with all my sibling's and our spouses to celebrate my sister's 30th birthday. Our husband's all arrived first and were hanging out. When my sister and I arrived we were Id'd and both had out of state ID's. I am 34 and she is 30. The bartender was extremely rude saying she can't accept out of state ID's. We both had a wedding ring on and a full wallet of other cards to show our names but yet were denied being served. I will never go back.

Pfft. Dump. With Ye Olde Tap Room, O'Flaherty's, Howlers & Growlers and Marge's nearby, there's absolutely no reason to come here. Took forever to get waited on at the bar & they acted like we were intruding, which I guess we were, since the bartender & waitress were literally all over each other. I guess long time regulars must keep this place open.

Out on a Sunday at 6pm with the wife looking for a place to grab a burger and a beer. Let's give this place a try we said, we never been. Sat down at the bar, ordered some beers, then went to place a order for some food and was told the grill was shut down for the evening. I don't know if this is standard procedure for Sundays for what's listed as a bar and GRILL, or if the bar maid didn't want to get the grill dirty. Either way it's Sunday at 6pm and your grill is closed, yet your facility is equal in size to that of a family dinner. Needless to say when the wife and I left and the waitress said "sorry", we said "we'll never be back again."

My husband and I ride our bikes here often. This place definitely has potential, but it's lacking its luster. They have several pool tables and bar games. There is an outdoor bar with a patio that is quite roomy. There's corn hole and basketball hoops on the outdoor patio too. My only complaint is that the drink prices are rather steep. My husband and I ordered two vodka/cranberry drinks and they were $15 for both. They were served in small, plastic cups. Other than the drink prices, this place is fun. I definitely suggest going with your spouse or with a group of people.

With my recent breakup still looming over me this was a great place for me and 2 of my fav girls to drink several icy cold cocktails and talk it out girlfriend style. What a comfy little place and the hidden gem out back. What a HUGE patio/deck! Love that!! Pool tables, juke box, bar food, decent priced cocktails and always interesting folks to strike up a conversation with! All things needed when it comes to a great local water hole. I like it! I'll be back!

This place is a dump. Seems dirty so I would not recommend getting food. I think the majority of their clientele is 18-22 years old. ... And who serves drinks in a tiny plastic cup??

We make it to this bar every time we are in MI without fail. And why wouldn't we when it has a little bit of everything. Latest and greatest version of Big Buck Hunter? Check. Pool tables? Check. Huge patio? Check. Outside basketball courts? Check. Cheap drinks? Check. The only thing this place is lacking is a cab when you are all said and done for the night. But since they don't seem to come within a 10 mile radius of this bar or neighborhood... you can't hold it against the place. They will at least gladly call one for you.

I would be lying if I said this isn't my second home :) this place has thee BEST mozz sticks. I mean have you ever bit into something so crunchy with oozing cheese melting right into your mouth while tastebuds just dance within your mouth!? Such a beautiful moment. Anyways, I would vote Excalibur Park top 5 bars in Grosse Pointe. You cannot go wrong if you choose to come here for good laughs, great bar games, and just a good ole fashion time.

When we first started dating, my now husband and I would show up early Saturday nights, order a pitcher, and commence to play game(s) of pool (coin operated!) It got so that Neil, the Saturday evening bartender would pour a pitcher of Labatt when he would notice us walking in. Over the span of years (yes years) we were regulars there and we loved it. Once in a while, we'd bring along our friends and family and shoot baskets in the back. Everyone always had a good time. We still go back from time to time when we're in the neighborhood. I'm not a "sports bar" kind of person - and sports TV is all over - but I love this place.

I love this bar! Cheap drinks, great burgers, what more can you ask for? One great thing about this bar is the hours they keep - open around 8am, you can go in anytime for a meal. The daytime bartender, Hazel, is especially fantastic, and so sweet. She's worked there for forty years, and is one of the nicest bartenders you'll ever meet! Great for the chill atmosphere, game tables (pool, etc.), and affordable drinks... One of the best quasi-dive bars in the area!

I think I have been here only once. I was unimpressed to say the least. The outside was essentially a giant ashtray and the inside was like a fraternity house. The lack of cleanliness is appalling for somewhere that serves any type of food or drink. If I recall correctly, the drinks were served in plastic cups and the whole place had a cheap vibe. It's got probably all drunks and college people trying to get wasted as its main clientele. I don't plan on returning in the future.

The outdoor pool table is awesome, and any bar that lets you play basketball for free gets a +1 star out of me. :-) Great fun atmosphere. Drinks are kind of pricy, but don't be surprised if by your 3rd drink you're not charged every time you order, or not charged for everything you order. Their food is good, their portions are huge, and their prices are more than fair for food. They only take cash so stop at the ATM before you arrive, but it's a good bar.

First things first I love the plastic cups!!!!!!!! The games are amazing, who doesn't love cornhole? Classic darts, shuffle board, and three pool tables inside. Let's not forget the two basketball nets and wonderful bartenders. Order the mozz sticks!

unfortunately, least favorite bar in grosse pointe. favorites: outside set up -- massive patio, basketball courts, cheap drinks, pool table, good for large groups, best in summer! meh: seems like a grosse pointe high school reunion, jukebox is kinda lame, not the best atmosphere worth checking out if you're in the grosse pointe area and you don't want to travel too far. fulfills all necessary qualities of a bar, nothing spectacular.

This is a very good sports bar that is hidden away in GPP. Since my alma mater is in the Pac 10, it's very difficult to see their football games. This place will forever have my loyalty for having a west coast feed of FSN so that I could watch the Big Game! My point is, if they can pick up a low-profile matchup like that, they'll have just about any game.

The bartender couldn't remember my order, and charged my friend for my drink assuming that he was my boyfriend (he's not) or something. Overall, I was 100% unimpressed. On the positive side it was cheap and roomy, which counts for something, I guess.

Pool table yes! Drinks are on the pricy side though fun crowd on fri & sat nights. They also server food which is a bonus in this area.

Fair prices and a heavy pour. The deck outside is large with two basketball hoops and corn hole. There's a shuffleboard table inside along with pool tables and dartboards and too many TVs to count. Friendly atmosphere with that dive bar feel.

Let's start with the cool things , this place has a room with a pool table and it's private In the back. My wife and I like going here to play pool by ourselves . The outside has basketball hoops and corn hole. The issue is if u are not a smoker which we are not it smells horribly and it sucks to play. The drink suck, they are over priced and come in a small plastic cup. We ordered two vodka and cranberry's (Tito's vodka) and it was 15 bucks. I was blown away . The decor looks like it has never been updated and it is definitely in need of a deep cleaning . This bar has so much potential , it's big, has a huge out door space and is in a great location. I hope someone takes this over and really puts some love into it . Go during the week during the day to avoid all the smokers and smell. Also it only takes cash . Never had the food, was too scared to try.

I literally stay close enough to use their WiFi which is named "gloryhole." Strike 1! So every weekend since I've been living close by this place,it is almost always crowded. They have a deck and you can see the smoke clouds for blocks from the cigarette smoke. That's OK so I finally get the courage to stop in 1 night despite all the previous reviews I've read I figured they were all 3 years old I'd give it a shot for myself. I walk in and the bar wasn't crowded at all. No greeting from the bartender or waitress. Seated myself at the bar and me being a beer drinker I look for the taps. Almost none existing. So I said to myself "1 shot and I'm leaving." Bar tender just looked at me said what can I getcha? A shot of fire ball. It came to me in a plastic cup and looked like 3-5 drops and he says $5. For a plastic cup of fire ball? I paid and thought that's that. Looked around and seen some video games in the back. As I made my way through the old decor( in need of a good cleaning just like every other yelp review) I noticed all kinds of empty cups and bottles everywhere. It reminded of a college frat house with no den mother. I get to the games that was so out dated I couldn't even remember playing these games as a kid and I'm 43. Needless to say after I realized I had been in awe over this ancient game,I slammed my few eye drops and left. When I walked out I noticed I had been there 48 minutes and not one waitress asked if I was ok. Hope your luck is better.

Worst trash bar in GP. Terrible service unless you're an underage female. Always an attitude and wait for drinks. This place is a dive that thinks its not a dive...

My wife and I were here for a birthday party this past weekend and had not been here in a while. We were amazed at how this place that we frequented a few years back has gotten so run-down. With the exception of some newer looking TVs everything else is old, worn out and looks filthy. The dingy carpet, dust clumps and stains on the ceiling, the nicotine film stained walls, the worn out and banged up furniture, the shabby looking bar, the cigarette butt covered patio. The server behind the bar did a great job however. She was very busy keeping up with our large party as well as the customers at the bar. But Excalibur you could do so much better. Appearance matters.
