Google
I got some bagels from here not too long ago as a pick up order. While I can't comment on the service and atmosphere eating in the establishment, I can see that these bagels are fantastic. As someone who has lived in New York, I feel that I have a say on what good bagels are like. I feel that Boston in general does not have an established bagel presence that New York does. However, exodus feels close to the average New York bagel does.

My goodness, I have tasted bagels over many countries. These leave them all in the dust. I can't put my finger on what is different but I will say that they are delightful in taste, texture, chewiness, tenderness. The flavors of toppings and cream cheese are delicious as well, not too strong and not too subtle. What a great place!

Google
I don’t know if any bagel shop quite like Exodus Bagels. My GPS took me to what looked like empty storefronts, but I saw people with small white bags paper, suspiciously streaming from McGraw Street. Sure enough: bagels!!!! This place is popular, and for good reason! You never enter the store. Simply order at one window and wait for your order to be ready at the other. There are four graffitied be bucket chairs secured against the wall, but most people stood or squatted on the sidewalk instead. There are stairs from the T, but you can go one street up to avoid them. Super easy. I do NOT recommend turning onto McGraw. It is a dead end and people layer cars as they come in and out. Handicap parking is on the other streets so you won’t have far to roll. This Roast Beef with Horseradish, Dill cream cheese, and lightly tossed greens on Challah bread (only available Fridays and Saturdays) is deliciously different from any sandwich or bagel ever, and I hope you try it!!! They source iced coffee straight from West Roxbury’s Recreo, as well as hot coffee from Tandem Roasters in Portland, Maine. For my 🦓 friends, they have really good salt bagels!!!!

Google
Hour and a half for a sloppy, cold, overpriced bagel. I placed an order online and was told it would be an hour. I arrived 20 min early and was almost scolded for arriving early. Then when I came back in 20 min my order was still not ready. I have ordered once before at a non-busy time and it still took 20 min. The sandwich was ok. Enough for me to return again especially being very close to my house. But after this visit I will never be returning to Exodus Bagels. Ticket times seem very long for the amount of people in the kitchen. The bagels are ok but the operation is inefficient.

Google
Got 2 bacon & egg sandwiches. Absolutely awful. Got uncooked bacon and pieces of bacon that weren’t edible. Eggs were so greasy. Waste of money. Wish I could get my money back. It my 1st time and last time visiting this place.

Google
Best bagel sandwich I have ever had!! The salt bagel is perfectly flavorful, the horseradish and dill cream cheese was fantastic, and all the ingredients in the sandwich were fresh and well portioned! Service was quick and efficient. I'll definitely be back!

Google
Highly recommend, best Bagels and sandwiches in Boston! Amazing bacon and other ingredients. I get pick up anytime I am close to the shop.

Kim Schuster

Google
First time there and will definitely be back! Food was delicious! Had the G & G (lox) . One of the best I've ever had! Salmon was fresh and delicious, nice large beef steak tomatoes, generous cream cheese, bagel fresh, large capers. Flavors delightfully balanced! Also had the salted chocolate chunk cookie. Definitely worth the calories. Lol Great balance of chewy and crispy! Regarding the parking definitely park on the main street and take the short walk in to get your order or place your order.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! Exodus Bagels is tucked at the end of a dead end road and has the cutest little order and pickup window. They have a great menu with options ranging from breakfast sandwiches to lunch options to bagels by the dozen. Also - love the coffee from Tandem in Portland, ME :) I ordered a sausage egg and cheese on a sesame bagel - the bagel was light and crispy and the sausage was very tasty - lots of spiced flavor. My husband got the Monumental, which was very yummy as well - and messy! The service was friendly and they were able to get our order out without too much of a wait. Be aware that there are no restrooms or much of a seating area. There are a few outdoor chairs, but today was rainy so we just took the food to go. Also heads up that there is a 13% "admin fee" added to every order so they can pay their employees fair wages. I fully support fair wages...and I also support transparent pricing. There were numerous signs about this fee, so I was aware before paying. However, why not just charge more for menu items?? It's not very upfront and as a customer I'd rather just see transparent pricing so I know what I'm paying instead of trying to calculate the 13% in my head. In all, would definitely come back!

Yelp
The bagels are pretty good for Boston but compared to NJ/NY they aren't memorable. I really want to like this but unfortunately a few things are stopping this from being 5 stars. 1) it's about an hour wait from when you order, so always order online as that's how majority of their orders come in. 2) My sandwich order was wrong and missing 3 items I paid extra to have on there. It definitely needed salt and pepper, but that's just my preference as I do not like unseasoned eggs. 3) The pate was the most disappointing part and made me and my friend gag. It also had a hard texture and was crumbly instead of spreadable. I highly recommend not ordering it. There was something extremely off about it

Faye A.

Yelp
Great artisan bagels. A bit pricey and you have to order online, so requires a a bit of planning. But overall, would recommend. Glad this place is in Rozzie!

Stacey T.

Yelp
Exodus bagels is one of the only bagel shops in Boston that I actually, genuinely enjoy. It's always a "yes" as opposed to most other places where I debate if it's worth the subpar bagel experience and wasted calories. For anyone who's read my reviews of other bagel places, I'm pretty harsh and picky, so this means a lot haha No, they're not NY bagels, but they are soft, chewy and flavorful. They also have a nice assortment of bagel and cream cheese flavors, which they apply quite generously. Online ordering is also clutch to avoid waiting. Minus one star for: - hours (closed Monday/Tuesday and only open until 1pm other days) - it's not uncommon for them to run out of bagels well before 1pm, therefore kinda cutting their hours short. Bagels start running out usually by 10am, sometimes earlier - bagels aren't cut in half....why?

Ashley W.

Yelp
Let me just say... I have not visited the location personally, however a dear friend of mine works up that way & has known my passion for bagels. This kind man thoughtfully brought me 2 everywhere bagels & cream cheese from Exodus yesterday. At this very moment I can't find my socks because they were blown right off my body at such a rapid pace when I took my first bite!!! Unreal! In every way & form of bagel heaven, from a true worshiper...Thank you for making THE BEST bagels around!

Charmie C.

Yelp
Exodus is consistent. It's been more than 4 years since I last had a bagel from here and it delivers. The one thing this time: I asked for light on the cream cheese and I literally got enough cream cheese for three bagels. It's not a deal breaker but just be cautious and maybe ask for it on the side. I'll try that next time. Crispy, lighthearted bagels that are really just excellent!!

Michael M.

Yelp
The bagels are good but the wait is too long. Last time I went, I waited half an hour for my food just to discover after I left that they messed up my order and left out ingredients I paid extra for. It was frustrating enough that I'm unsure I'd go back despite the food being good when they get it right.

Graham P.

Yelp
Love exodus and their bagels are great, but had to take off a star because their online ordering system is so bad. Multiple times I have tried to place orders only to have my online bag emptied during ordering and told they are suddenly sold out. They need a better system to make sure once you are placing an order it can't be revoked.

pantea T.

Yelp
Servis is alright ambience is OK but the food is AMAZING! fresh with a variety of add-ons! Try it

Zaraid J.

Yelp
Flavors - 4.5/5 Textures - 4/5 Presentation - 3/5 Value for Money - 2/5 Would return? Yes Must-try: any bagel! I love these bagels. They have amazingly creative sandwich creations and they are all good. The chicken lover jalapeño jelly sounds weird but it was delicious!! You can't go wrong with the classic lox. I can't wait to go back and try others

Ken F.

Yelp
Love the breakfast sandwiches but what I always come back for is the sweet treats. Perfect for every occasion. These guys really know how to bake.

lee k.

Yelp
Great bagels. The 13% they add to the bill for staff is a bit of a ripoff. Not sure why they don't just charge more instead of making you pay their staff but my favorite bagels.

Dominique D.

Yelp
SO GOOD. Was looking to try a new bagel place and I'm so glad I found exodus. The bagels were super fresh and the cream cheese was amazing. There are so many options so there's a bagel for everyone. Just get there early because the favorites do sell out. The customer service was great and the online order process was very smooth and quick. There isn't any parking because it's on a dead end. You can either park on the side of the street or park further up and walk a bit. Can't wait to try more bagels!

Natalie Y.

Yelp
Came to Exodus Bagels because of a recommendation from a friend, and it did not disappoint! The bagel itself was crunchy on the outside with a soft, chewy interior, and all of the bagel sandwiches were creative and eye catching (I had a hard time choosing between delicious options as a pescatarian)! I chose the egg and cheese with garlic butter and added avocado mash, it was a delight! The seating is cute, but there is only outdoor seating, with a few tables that aren't covered, so make sure to come on a day with good weather if you want to eat there. Luckily we had decent weather (only light rain) when we came.

Kelly V.

Yelp
I have had bagels every morning for the past three days since I found exodus! Their everywhere bagel (everything seasoning but everywhere), toffee cookie and cornflake blueberry muffin are amazing! Just the best texture! Parking is easy to find and you can order ahead. They also have amazing service.

Paula M.

Yelp
Best bagels and spreads. Black and white cookies too. Order ahead. Friendly owners. Pick up window.

Alyanna T.

Yelp
I live for Exodus Bagels. They're one of my favorite Black-owned businesses, and my partner and I have tried almost all of their sandwiches! This is my 5th visit but first review. Today, we picked up the Hook on a garlic asiago bagel and G&G Classic on a jalapeño cheddar bagel. Today's rating averaged to a 4, but I'm bumping my overall rating up to a 5 because I truly love this place! TASTE: 5/5 - I was so pleasantly surprised by the freshness of the Hook, and the G&G Classic never disappoints TEXTURE: 5/5 - the pickled red onions and celery in the Hook were perfect (plus there were nice bits of jalapeño in the bagel), and the cream cheese, lox, and capers combo of the G&G Classic are a home run PRICE: 4/5 - the G&G Classic, with a full serving of lox, is one of the most expensive items on the menu SERVING SIZE: 5/5 - they put a lot of love into these portions. My brunch cravings are always satisfied ATMOSPHERE: 4/5 - only window service at their Roslindale kitchen location TAKEOUT: 4/5 - today seemed to be a slow Sunday, which worked in our favor. FYI: the majority of the time, the Everywhere and Everything bagels sell out extremely quick! PARKING: 4/5 - no parking available on McCraw St, but I'm usually able to find a spot nearby on Belgrade Ave

Gil S.

Yelp
They charge a 13% Administrative fee. Why am I paying more for that than taxes on the food? Stealing money doing that.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Roslindale runs on Exodus! Guilty brunch food with lots of different bagel sandwiches to try. Service was quick and easy-no dine in. I had pork sausage, egg, and cheese with Sriracha sauce on onion bagel. The flavors felt light and healthy-better than Dunkin.

Michelle K.

Yelp
Pretty good bagels. Decent add-ons. Chicken liver is good. They need to relook at how they're cutting and packaging. I had three wet bagels to bring to my staff on Friday. They were good but one was vegan and it turned into a semi not vegan mess. Good thing the vegan didn't see it. Maybe don't cut them thru the paper. A good old fashion deli paper would be fine. Good bagels but expect to make a mess. 4 food 2 take out

Lori C.

Yelp
The BEST bagels anywhere, even NYC. Very friendly staff. And the cream cheese is very good too. These bagels also freeze well. Highly recommended.

Paul W.

Yelp
One of the best bagels you'll ever have! Exodus holds it's own in the entire New York vs Montreal bagel battle. I've had all 3 and can easily say I prefer Exodus. I went for the G+G classic on everything but modified it by adding scallion cream cheese and removing the capers similar to all the other locations. Although I'm kind of partial to how much lox comes in a NYC H&H order, there is something about the Exodus dough that makes the bagel unique and outstanding. Not to mention the extra amount of everything flavoring. Ok, my mouth is watering... got to go.

R D.

Yelp
Went there today, the bagel was good and the service was fast. Granted it was a week day morning around 10. Kinda unique to order through the window and to not go inside. It's on a dead end and there are some chairs and tables outside. Would go again if its convenient.

Anna M.

Yelp
Was looking to explore a new bagel spot and was glad to have found this one! I got the monumental with onion bagel toasted, added avocado and bacon, and substituted the plain cream cheese with scallion cream cheese (high recommend!). This bagel sandwich west stuffed very well in all the flavors mixed so well together. Although it ended up being like a $12-$13 bagel sandwich, it was worth trying. The added ingredients were a bit pricey to me, especially for the price of adding bacon :(! Parking is on the street but wasn't too bad to find a spot. It helped that I ordered ahead of time so I can just arrive and pick it up and go. Their location is tucked in a side street and they have a window for pick up and order. I would definitely recommend if you'd like to splurge a bit on a breakfast sandwich! Oh also the staff here was very nice and welcoming!

Bridget C.

Yelp
This is the best new addition to the neighborhood in years! Came home from California for Christmas week to visit my parents and breakfast from Exodus has been the highlight of my eating adventures. Order early online. Get extra cream cheese. Fun little window location. Friendly staff. Delicious!!!!!

Kae J.

Yelp
Terrible customer service! I ordered hot coffee which was definitely not hot but cold...a simple request if it could be put in microwave and heated a little. I was met with a stern NO...very disappointing as far as service !!! I will not return!

Wm S.

Yelp
Best bagels in east coast hands down: this place is proof of Boston's utter superiority to NY.

Joseph S.

Yelp
This place is absolutely delicious but it is also by far the most expensive breakfast sandwich I've ever gotten in my life. I got a medium iced coffee and a bacon egg and cheese and it was $18. That's unheard of. But it's still great.

Aphtyn L.

Yelp
Best bagels we've found in the Boston area after living here for almost 3 years. So so good! And super friendly service. It's in a cute little back alley, parking can be limited, so plan ahead.

Savvy C.

Yelp
Twice the attitude, twice as expensive and half as good as Cafe Fresh Bagel in Dedham Square.

Sally O.

Yelp
I live in Rosi but have been traveling to NYC quite often lately for work. When I'm there I always get bagels and pizza. NYC has us beat on pizza, but I will say, I've yet to have a bagel anywhere in NYC that I find as crave worthy and completely perfect as exodus bagels. Their roasted veggie cream cheese is divine. I'm obsessed. The best of the best!

Candi R.

Yelp
Hands down the best best bagels that I have ever had. Their everywhere bagel is phenomenal as is their home made cream cheese (especially the veggie). I love bulk buying a dozen bagels, slicing them and freezing them to enjoy later. Their bagel sandwiches are also amazing and they have many vegan options.

Ingrid A.

Yelp
Pretty lacking in vegan or dairy-free options (most things are cooked in butter) but otherwise good! Also wish they had seating

Katie H.

Yelp
Probably the best bagels I've eaten. Perfect chewy insides with perfect crust. Great flavors and variety. Worth just getting the bagels...but the sandwiches are great as well. There is a reason so many people have dropped a 5 star review....this place is legit! This business recently moved and they only do service out of a window. Easy to order ahead and pick up, they do allow for walk up and wait-but order ahead or call for ease. The staff is lovely and helpful. (Sandwiches, cream cheese, drinks and cookies available as well.)

Ana C.

Yelp
The flavors are great! Service is fast the hours are tricky but they are all great! Ambiance outdoor ordering pretty cool!

Matt K.

Yelp
The hidden fees make the bagels taste like sh*t. If you can't pay your workers, raise your prices.

Pinkpeony L.

Yelp
These are the best bagels I've personally tried in the Greater Boston area. They are chewy, but also light. I get the salt ones. The first time I tried it with their cream cheese (horseradish I think) and it was very good. Since then I just get a 1/2 dozen to go. Parking is a little difficult. I'd avoid parking on the side street, park on Belgrade Avenue and walk a few steps. You order and pickup from a window on the street, so dress warmly in winter. I wish I lived closer!

Mary S. P.

Yelp
Real bagels. They proof the dough. They boil and bake, the proper and traditional way. I especially love the rye. If you are vegan, they have you. If you love everything bagels, get their "everywhere" bagels which have the seasoning all over, as the name suggests. I have not had any of their sandwiches but Many imaginative choices are offered. Note that they are quite pricey but worth the extra money in my opinion!

David K.

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing vegan bagels, had the everything bagel with a Schmeer a vegan cream cheese, and carrot lox. Also got the everything bagel with hummus, zaatar, avocado and veggie sausage. What an amazing place, a jewel in the rough

Kevin B.

Yelp
I don't buy into the hype. My sandwich tasted almost steamed because the bagel lacked structure. It was essentially a soft roll. The ingredients they use are good quality, except I thought the regular cream cheese was somewhat sour. If it's about the bagel and you like them chewy with a crunchy exterior, look elsewhere.

Erica F.

Yelp
My experience at Exodus was like a trip to bizarro world and I will never go there again. Please know I was totally friendly and polite until they refused to sell me a bagel! Then I would say I pushed back but wasn't unreasonable. Imagine this: you've had COVID for 2 weeks. You're finally getting your appetite back. It's a crummy rainy fall morning and you just dropped off your kid at school. Hey, why not stop at Exodus for a bagel on the way home before you start work? You stop and order a half dozen to go. "We can't do a half dozen." OK cool, you really only want breakfast. Can they do one? They can (you can see the bagels!) But they will not. They will not sell you a toasted buttered bagel. The sign says "limit of 6" but for YOU, it's limit of 0 because. . . I still don't know. They will not sell you a single bagel. Not one. They explain that if they sell you a bagel there won't be enough left for sandwiches. For other people I guess. Meanwhile other people are coming vy and picking up their orders. Honestly, on top of the attitude from the staff and the surreal nature of the interaction, it was humiliating.

Masha S.

Yelp
Bagel quality is equal to anything in Boston, and the bagel presentation (wrapping, toasting, etc) was on point! Recommend coming early or ordering ahead tho as the line picks up shortly after opening. Lastly their Everywhere bagel (everything seasoning on both sides) should be a new bagel standard For a more in-depth bagel review watch this: https://youtu.be/pIosOOT8EBM

Natalie S.

Yelp
Great bagel (slightly crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside the way I like it), but there were morsels that were extremely salty (unsure if it was the bagel or the scallion cream cheese). Ordered a plain bagel with cucumber, greens, red onions, scallion cream cheese, 1/2 lox (which I think i should've ordered the 7 oz lox). Ultimately I will say that the bagel is the best bagel I've had in the Boston area, hands down. There's no public restroom and really no place to sit and eat - it's an order-and-pickup at the window establishment. I would definitely come here again but only if I had a car. The neighborhood, Roslindale, is definitely worth checking out. About a 5-min bus ride from this establishment there was a very cute open market in the square.

The B.

Yelp
By far the best bagel spot in Boston. They make their bagels fresh every day. They also make their own brisket that's killer. Also, their iced coffee is superb!!

Katie M.

Yelp
The best bagels and breakfast sandwiches in Boston!! The are a local small business that has worked hard to get their own space and be successful! Its a must try in Boston! The stroller bagel sandwich and everything bagels are my favorite!! Highly recommend!

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Love love love this place!!!! My first job was actually selling bagels at Eagermans in Natick( long gone) after that I was a long time Kupels fan. Absolutely nothing against Kupels but OMG not only are the bagels great here so is the scallion cream cheese, sriracha cream cheese, hummus and don't get me started on the chopped chicken liver, challah and the salted chocolate chip cookies!!!!! Is there a Exodus anonymous meeting, I need to join because I am embarrassed to say I have eaten 3 in one day-starting with one in the car on the way home. My favorite is the everywhere( everything on the top and bottom) but also really like the sesame, asagio cheese and cheddar jalapeño. For a big plus just order on line and pick up there where they have a separate window. The staff also are exceptionally nice

L M.

Yelp
First time visiting exodus this morning. Coffee great! Bagels amazing! Chenise, the girl at the window, was welcoming, kind, and informative- Excellent employee! Cool vibe waiting outside for my order!

Eileen B.

Yelp
I know bagels, and these are some mighty fine bagels. Perfect texture and taste. Just delicious, favorable. They offer delicious, generous sandwiches before COVID19. I believe you can order those again and pick them up. Hands down, they make the best bagels anywhere. (I am an ex-New Yorker)

Alexandra M.

Yelp
I've been to the JP location numerous times and Covid has driven me to drive to the Rozzy location to get my fix. I brought a New Yorker and he (thankfully) enjoyed the sandwiches we got (3 for the 2 of us because we can't stop with 1 sandwich). The order was ready early and the staff open the door for you with a pully system so you dont have to touch a single thing when you go in.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
The best bagels hands down. Super friendly staff, delicious food, and good people. I love having them in the neighborhood!
