This was the perfect luau. The intimacy allows everyone (we had around 40 at our luau) to mingle and the staff are so welcoming. By the end of the night we truly felt like we were family that had a fabulous time at a backyard party. The grounds and views are gorgeous. The food was so good and plentiful. The games, activities and entertainment were a lot of fun and allowed everyone to participate. This was a great choice and I highly recommend Experience Nutridge.

My husband and I had such a wonderful time! They really make you do feel like Ohana and a part of something very special. There was only about seven people putting on the whole luau and performance, it was incredible! The location was one of the most beautiful spots I have ever been on top of The mountain and in the woods. The bartenders and drinks were fantastic and we learned a lot about the culture and local area. I would very much highly recommend this luau, it was intimate and very fun and relaxing. The performers were so talented. They did an amazing job!!

We came here, while visiting Oahu, on my boyfriend’s 40th birthday. We did a lot of research on different luaus and this one seemed like the best one. We were not disappointed! It was such an amazing experience. They have so much hospitality! They were so kind, welcoming, entertaining, and funny. We had a wonderful time in this truly intimate setting. We enjoyed that it is only done in small groups it made it much more enjoyable and personal. The food was terrific and the view was breathtaking! The whole night was so entertaining! They are genuinely kind people. I definitely would recommend this luau!

Google
I could not imagine a better luau experience! The small intimate setting was perfect. We really appreciated the time the hosts took to teach us about the land, culture, and celebrations. This was a trip highlight for us. The slowness of the entire evening was what we needed. The food was also so good!

Google
This is a fantastic luau experience. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. It is a much more personal experience than you would get with the larger luaus. The cultural demonstrations and dances were very interesting and hands on. It was nice to do things in different areas of the property rather than just sitting in one spot. The food and drinks are great and they source many of the foods from local farmers.

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our luau at the Nutridge farm! It was an awesome experience and wonderful food! The view here was spectacular too! After researching a ton of luau's offered on Oahu we chose this one, and it did not disappoint! We are now Nutridge ohana for life! Mahalo (thank you).

Google
Absolutely amazing. The best luau I have been to so far. I love how intimate it was and from the beginning to the end, was magical for my little girl. The host was so funny and kept the mood light and fun. They offer a shuttle pick up if you didn’t end up driving. My group ended up driving and they had people guiding where you should park. The drive up the hillside was so scenic, turns out there’s a lookout point on the way up. You should take time out before or after your drive to stop. There were performances and games before dinner. Everything was catered for all ages. The food was spot on! Lau Lau was always my favorite and it was one of the reasons why I chose those luau. And it did not disappoint. We got to watch the sunset as we ate dinner and performances during dinner as well. Post dinner was interactive and so much fun. A must do experience. Completely worthwhile.

Google
We’ve gone on many tours while in Hawaii and Nutridge has got to be one of my favourite ones while on the islands. It felt so familiar and carefully crafted. Learnt a ton, laughed a lot, ate even more. Such a fantastic atmosphere and really felt at home. This really was an absolute must do. We spent a lot of time researching which luau to go to and we are so glad we chose Nutridge. The pick up from the hotel was amazing, too, as we don’t drive. Just excellent 🤙

Yelp
So much fun and wonderful people. More than just a luau. It was a full on performance from start to finish. Thanks to everyone for making our trip!!

Kathy C.

Yelp
Excellent experience from start to finish! So different from other luau. Small, personal, beautiful setting. Food was great! The entire staff was so personable! We ,indeed, felt like family. This was my second time and i would definitely do it again!

Yelp
Simply amazing... The best luau I've been to from beginning to end. Most other luaus feel like a Vegas show or shuffle you around like you're at Disneyland. Experience Nutridge make you feel like ohana (family) and really immerse you into the moment. The experience began with a ceremony that welcomed guests into the venue. It was an empowering and moving way of starting off the night. It was then followed by a welcome drink and lei. Presentations, demonstrations, and dances that shared the Hawaiian/Polynesian culture soon followed. The MC, Liki, was very entertaining and kept the guests engaged. The performers were fantastic. The food was yummy and the view was breathtaking. Because there were only 50-75 guests in attendance, it added to the intimate feel of the experience. By the end, it felt like one big ohana (family). We utilized the shuttle service and the driver Kirk was friendly and gave some food recommendations. 5 stars, A+++, highly recommend to everyone!

Yelp
From start to finish this is the best luau. It's a more intimate experience and doesn't lack any detail. It includes great history, dancing, demonstrations, activities, dinner, drinks, and my favorite...fire knife dancing!!! Take all of your friends and family to experience this spectacular Hawaiian adventure.

Yelp
Best Luau we've been to. Authentic, inclusive, engaging and you will not be bored. Different shows in different spots on the property, followed by games in the lawn, dinner with dancing as the sun sets! You will not be disappointed. Highly recommend using their transportation as its not a big bus. Jeff our driver was amazing and extremely knowledgeable.
google avatar

Hamilton A.

Yelp
We loved the witty, entertaining, and friendly staff while the food was delicious. This smaller size luau was definitely more enjoyable than the huge bus tour group kind. The place was beautiful and serene. Very relaxing and charming. We had a great time.

Yelp
All the positive reviews are warranted by the intimacy of the experience! The small group size and emphasis on getting to know your hosts and cultural education really set Experience Nutridge apart from a lot of other luaus. It's a beautiful property and they put a strong emphasis on education and really try to make you feel like you're part of their family throughout the whole experience. The performers were also our servers and we got to get to know them pretty well by the end of it all. They make you feel really well taken care of. The entertainment and food was great too. We also took their shuttle service and our driver was very friendly and educational on the whole drive.

Yelp
Nutridge was an amazing experience! The lush property, phenomenal views, talented and personable staff and great food were impeccable!

Yelp
What an amazing experience for our family reunion! This small and intimate luau was the cherry on top of our week long vacation in Oahu. From the shuttle driver, to the host and entertainers, everything was top notch. And the food was amazing! Things about this luau to be aware of: Due to the spectacular location, on the side of a mountain with stone and grass covered pathways, I would not recommend this luau for anyone who is physically limited (walker or wheelchair). Also, for restrooms, they have several port-a-potties (clean, but they are still port-a-potties). They had a nicer restroom in a portable trailer, but the line to use that one was always long.

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMEND: If you are trying to decide which lū'au to do while on the island THIS IS IT!!!! This was such an Amazing Experience: from the arrival, to the welcome drinks, the HISTORY lessons, the intimate group setting, the games, the food, the singing and dancing, and THE BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!!! Absolutely speechless by the end of the night! And really loved the fact that there were just about 60 of us and not HUNDREDS! THANK YOU NUTRIDGE!

Yelp
We had so much fun at the Experience Nutridge Luau September 20, 2024. The setting can't be beat - it's tropical and gorgeous and I liked that the information was presented in different spots on the property. The entertainment is SO GOOD!! You can tell that everyone working there really loves what they do and have a true desire to share their culture with visitors. I enjoyed sitting family style with other guests, too. What a fun night! Pro tip: pay for the transportation from Waikiki, rather than ride-sharing or trying to drive up (and back down!) the big hill.

D M.

Yelp
Best luau on the island!!! Had a blast! Learned so much about the culture, and the food and drinks were delicious! Thank you to Primo Reno and everyone at Nutridge for opening the doors to your home and being so welcoming! Mahalo!

Yelp
Had a great time at this luau. Most authentic one in Oahu. We had less than 40 people at the luau so it was very personable. Moved around the property to do various activities. The people working were amazing and welcoming. Definitely felt like I was a part of the family. You get 1 free drink and dinner with the ticket. You also get to play games, make bracelets, and get little stamp tattoos.

Yelp
My husband and I had an absolutely amazing time celebrating Valentine's Day at the Luau. I'm born and raised here and have never been to a commercial luau. After lots of searching online I thought nutridge was the best option because of the beautiful location, small intimate gathering and the food. It's the only luau I found that offered lau lau. And the food was very good and authentic! We even got seconds. Everyone here from the host to the dancers to the bartenders seriously went above and beyond. I really admire their hard work, playful energy and that they enjoy what they do. I really felt like I was at a family party! From now on when someone is visiting I will highly recommend the nutridge Luau. It's one of the islands best kept secrets.

Yelp
As part of a promotion package we opted in to this luau and are so glad we did. As others have said, it's a small group so interacting with the staff is very easy. The team is very engaged and put on a good show. Amazing that they do it all including serving the buffet and cleaning. We were picked up from the Hilton Grand Islander and we're in the van with Kaia(?). She was lovely and engaging. She even made a stop in the park where scenes from Blue Hawaii were filmed. Upon arrival we are moved around to various stations for cultural enrichment experiences such as dances and learning about cooking with an imu. Once it was dinner time, we received more entertainment and ended the evening learning a hula dance and doing the electric slide. Open bar included! Definitely attend this luau if you are able. If you have mobility challenges, this might be tough to experience. What a hidden gem!

Yelp
Now if you are expecting to receive a luau experience like the movies, this is not it. Instead you will receive an intimate setting filled with laughter, good company, stories of traditions, traditional dancing, games, a spectacular view, and AMAZING food. My family and I loved everything about experience nutridge, and based on the pictures it so easy to see why. The entire staff is simply wonderful. You arrive to a drink, then are showed how food is cooked, you get to see some dances, including fire, then you get to partake in some tradition games. If you win the games you get raffle tickets to win prizes. Afterward you get to sit and take pictures in the beautiful location. The food is amazing, traditional Hawaiian food that you would have a luau. The meat is tender and cooked perfectly; you can have chicken, pork, or both. The salad has great dressings. While you are eating, the staff does traditional dancing and you are also showed some traditional moves. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that if I return to Hawaii, I will for sure do again.

Yelp
After going to the popular big named luaus, I decided I wanted to take my family to experience a more intimate luau. Overall it was a decent experience. I liked that it wasn't too far from our hotel. The staff there are extremely friendly and take the time to talk to and get to know the visitors during the evening. Not only are they interacting with you during the games, they are the performers, and also don gloves to serve you dinner at the buffet line. The food was yummy and you can go back for more if you are still hungry. The property is a beautiful macadamia nut farm, and there are great views of the city from the top of the hill where house and swing are. Technically it is wheelchair accessible, but going down to the area where they do some dancing and fire dancing is kind of steep, so take your time heading over there. The performances are fine, but not really any wow factor to it. The major gripe I have is their porta potties. I was fully aware that they only have porta potties, but what I wasn't expecting was that they aren't maintained. The first one I went into was filled to the brim with paper and waste! So gross! I told the employee outside and all he told me was that they hadn't had someone come out for a couple of days to clean them. OMG, I couldn't get over it, I can't believe I paid a small fortune to attend this and find that they can't even maintain their facilities.

Yelp
When you search for Luaus in O'ahu you get a variety of options, but most of them are large commercial outfits and it wasn't what we were looking for; we wanted something more authentic and akin to a family affair. We 100% found that with Experience Nutridge. This was an amazing experience from start to finish and it was one of our favorite things we've ever done on vacation. The tour bus picks you up from a variety of spots in Waikiki and then takes to to the property, which is a few miles outside of town. Along the way, the bus stops at a beautiful overlook and you can see all the way from Diamond Head to Honolulu and it's really a wonderful view. Once you're at the property you're greeted like family and welcomed into the beautiful grounds with a welcome drink. It was so nice to see the traditional dancing and songs and the staff are excellent dancers and singers. We also loved being able to play some lawn games and wander around the grounds before dinner; it's so peaceful here and it was a macadamia nut farm, which is really interesting. Dinner was absolutely fantastic and we ate every last bit of it; it's seriously excellent and the drinks are great too. There's more dancing with dinner and they put on a great show overall. All of the staff are just the nicest people as well and they really made us feel at home. We 100% recommend Experience Nutridge over anyone else for a Luau when you're visiting O'ahu!

Yelp
The best luau I've been to so far. I love how intimate the experience and the food was amazing. I had to get seconds of my favorite lau lau. There was even a vegan option which we tried and it was tasty! The team brought in the group of 80ish to the estate with a majestic welcome. Our guide was hilarious and kept the mood fun and light. There is a moderate amount of walking on rocks, small hills, and some unlevel stones. The performers were all amazing and professional. My group had several babies and they were in awe of the performance. There was space for us to move to the back with the babies when they got a little restless. It was so picturesque and we got to watch the sun set during dinner. Note, you get some performances and option to participate in some games before dinner is served. A friend thought we got dinner right away and sat down the entire time. We got to move around part of the estate to learn some history before dinner is served. There were performances during and after dinner as well. A must do when in Oahu!

Yelp
After hearing great things about Nutridge, we decided to experience it for ourselves. We had only been to one luau before so we had some expectations. Those expectations were blown out of the water after our evening with Nutridge. It is a lot more intimate than other luaus. Where some luaus may have more than 200 or 300 people, Nutridge had less than 90. It's located in the Tantalus area of the island so it benefits from having a large property and spectacular views which they fully take advantage of. Starting off the experience is a lot of informative sessions about the property and traditional Hawaiian culture accompanied by a welcome drink and kukui nut necklace. They also performed traditional dances before letting us hang out for a bit to do activities such as braiding banana leaf bracelets, spear throwing, and fake tattooing. All of these take place in different parts of their estate which is nice to change the scenery and make it feel like a small adventure. Dinner was absolutely wonderful. The last luau we went to didn't have the best food but the food here was so good we needed to get seconds. Their pulled pork, chicken, and lau lau were the MVP's in my opinion. The entertainment during the dinner was also really fun. What I especially respect is the small team that ensures the luau runs successfully. The same individuals that are performing are the same ones that serve the food and welcome you to the estate when you first get there. It's a small production and you can tell everyone really loves what they do here. If you're looking for the best luau experience, I can't recommend Nutridge enough. You will have a great time!

Janet P.

Yelp
I can't express how INCREDIBLE our experience was!! From the second we go there we felt absolutely welcome! Food, entertainment, drinks, the staff, the grounds and the incredible views! I loved the fact it was a small group, so everyone had a front row seat to everything. Dinner had a very intimate seating and we were all able to chat, laugh and get to know each other! Whether you've never been to a luau or you're looking for one to try, you MUST DO THIS ONE! You won't regret it! Mahalo Ohana, from the bottom of my heart!

James B.

Yelp
It's was such an awesome experience. If you're looking for a full blown cruise ship or casino style performance, this is not it. If you want an amazing laid back authentic Ohana experience this is the one. Entertainers are awesome, food is great, location is spectacular. Please don't hesitate to book this one over the others!

Kevin Z.

Yelp
I did have an amazing time, yet I have some constructive criticism that I intuit other people may agree on. I did enjoy the intimate and non-commercialized feel of the luau, the provided transportation (which is only an extra $22 on top of your ticket price), and the breathtaking views at this park. Our shuttle driver even took us to the nearby lookout point before the luau, so that we could all snap some photos. The history lesson stuff was presented in a clumsy fashion, which was not really a big deal and didn't turn me off. You're here for the performances. The fire throwing from the men was well choreographed, intense, and visually exciting. And of course, the women (quite beautiful I may add) were graceful as they sang and danced. When it came to the meal, the pulled pork perhaps was the best component. But that's not a ringing endorsement. Overall the food resembles what you might get at a summer camp or school cafeteria. For cost conscious people, you might be turned off by the rates. I didn't mind splurging for this since this was my last major activity in Oahu and the reviews were overwhelmingly positive, but there's room to have some additional service or value. A $40 differential between an adult ticket and the "youth" (age 13 and 20 ticket) is baffling. Especially since you get no drink tickets during dinner. There's a cash bar where even a can of soda is for sale. I would have figured 2 tickets for drinks - whether alcoholic or not - should be bundled into the price we paid. So overall, it could have been a bit more immersive and organized. But since I was entertained and left the event with a smile on my face, I have to encourage tourists to book it.
google avatar

Angela M.

Yelp
This was an awesome luau. My family and I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and we had the opportunity to get seconds.
google avatar

Ashley B.

Yelp
So much fun with all of the activities, dancing, and cultural education. My family had a great time! The food was great and is served "Panda Express" style. The scenery is amazing and watching the sun set over Honolulu was a view we'll never forget.

Dafina M.

Yelp
From the moment we signed up to the final farewell, this experience was nothing short of exceptional. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, and the level of hospitality was unmatched. The staff were friendly, genuinely warm, hilarious, and welcoming--making us feel like family from the start. The performances were absolutely stunning--rich in culture, beautifully executed, and deeply moving. Set against the backdrop of a breathtaking estate with gorgeous sunset views, the entire evening felt magical. And the food? Incredible--one of the best meals I've had on Oahu. What sets this luau apart is the intimacy of the experience. With only about 50 guests, it feels personal and immersive (nothing like the overly touristy luaus with 600+ people). You get to truly soak in the moment, connect with the performers and hosts, and savor the entire evening. Take it from someone who's attended multiple luaus--this one stands out by far. Stop searching, book it, and prepare for one of the best nights of your life. I know I'll be back.

Yelp
This is a very well run and fun Luau. The Nutridge estate is on a lookout area over Honolulu so the views themselves are priceless. The group welcomes about 100 guests for the show and dinner. The food was delicious and the participants gave their all as they performed traditional dances and brought the audience in for games during the evening. We used their transport from the cruise pier and it worked seamlessly. If you want a well sized and fun luau check it out while in Honolulu.
google avatar

Whitney K.

Yelp
Nice luau- and beautiful view of Honolulu! Small size is great- there were only ~60 people here when we went.
google avatar

Jo W.

Yelp
Beautiful and fantastic experience! A friend recommended this luau to me and my boyfriend since it's less touristy and more intimate than a lot of other luaus. This was my first luau EVER and my first time to Hawaii, so this was the perfect choice for my first luau. We got picked up in front of Ilikai Hotel, and our driver, Kirk/Kaipo, was super friendly and funny and kept us all entertained with touristy fun facts and must-visit recommendations, like Leonard's Bakery and Liliha Bakery. Got to choose between MaiTai or Sunrise for a drink on the drive over to Nutridge Estate. The staff and perfomers were very passionate with sharing their culture, with lots of rich history and entertaining performances, including lots of fire and dancing! We also played games for raffle tickets, like throwing spears at haybales, "bowling" with a round stone, and weaving grass bracelets. Food was AMAZING. There was Hawaiian Sweet Bread, Uala (Sweet potato), Laiki (sticky rice), Kalua Pua'a (shredded pork), Lalau (sweet potato and pork wrapped in taro leaves), and a few sweets, like a coconut cake, a pineapple slice, and chocolate cake. There was lots of dancing and singing during dinner, and the performers got the guests to join in. The view was absolutely gorgeous! We also enjoyed a gorgeous sunset and evening view. Fantastic luau, and the perfect way to end our last night in Hawaii.

Sharon C.

Yelp
Prefect experience! It was Father's day as well as my son's 30th birthday. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Gina D.

Yelp
I knew we made the right choice as we drove up the hill towards the estate. You get stunning views of the city and the estate itself was gorgeous during sunset. We wanted to support a locally-run luau, and we're so glad we did. The host and all the staff were welcoming and personable. They packed A LOT of history, dance, humor, and delicious food into the few hours we were there. We wish we had more time to participate in the games and activities, but that was on us - we got absorbed into taking photos during golden hour against the beautiful tropical trees.
google avatar

Anna N.

Yelp
An amazing experience from the gorgeous place, amazing people, great performances, delicious food and drinks, and even when it rained, it was no problem! It was a very intimate and small group and we both loved learning about Hawaii! I would recommend this to everyone!
google avatar

Rachel H.

Yelp
I had never heard of this luau before. I only found out about it through Yelp, and I honestly booked it because I saw they had lau lau. No other luau has this! But the experience was really amazing! You really feel like ohana here, and the people who work here are the friendliest! The dancing was great, and I really appreciated that they highlighted all of Polynesia, not just Hawai'i. The food was really delicious and so plentiful! The view at dinner was amazing, too!! And I will note that the bathrooms aren't that bad. They have portable toilets, but they also have those mobile toilets that are in structures with sinks inside, too. I would highly suggest going to this luau for an intimate experience.

Lyndsay W.

Yelp
My family had the best experience at this luau last evening. From start to finish, this is the perfectly intimate way to celebrate Polynesian culture while getting to know the staff and your fellow patrons. The food is tremendous, the estate is gorgeous, the dancing is beautiful, the activities are fun! I love when everyone around joins in and has a smile on their face. (and again about the food- my husband and stepson had two helpings!!! this isn't the usual bland/serving 200-500 people luau cuisine I have experienced in the past). Would recommend to all!

Yelp
I booked Experience Nutridge for my "reception" after my wedding on the beach. This is my first luau experience, but I thought it was very cool! Experience Nutridge Luau is a small operation and even the locals don't even know much about it. It is definitely a "hidden gem" luau for tourists who like to venture outside of Waikiki. Here are the pros, cons, tips, and suggestion: Pros: - Very intimate setting, the luau is about 100 people are less - Beautiful estate and views - Staff are very funny and personable - Great shows, dances, activities and Hawaiian histories. Cons: - Their restroom area is currently under construction so you do have to walk all the way back to the entrance. and it's a portal potty, but an actual restroom. - Pretty far from Waikiki, it is located at the Nutridge Estate in Tantalus Mountains which is about 30 minutes away. - The luau is indeed a lot more pricey than other luaus in Oahu ($160 per person) not including transportations, additional drinks, tips. - I am not really sure about other luaus, I wish there were more food as I thought the luau was all you can eat. They just serve us with 1 plate and 1 round of food. Tips: - If you do decide to go with Experience Nutridge for your luau, I suggest you book transportation with them because you can Uber/Lyft to the location, but it is hard to find a Uber/Lyft on the way back. - If you're prone to be bitten by mosquitoes like me, just ask the staffs for bug sprays Suggestion: - It would be cool to actually see the cooking process of how they roast the pig. At this luau, they just showed a demonstration with the pit and banana leaves. Overall: I think it's a good experience if you prefer more of an intimate luau with amazing views.

Lindy S.

Yelp
Overall amazing experience, really one of a kind. Compared to the larger corporate luaus this one is more intimate. One can compare the experience to staying at a large conglomerate hotel vs enjoying a unique boutique hotel. This luau is the latter- a boutique, charming, quaint experience. You can feel the labor of love put into it. If you've been to a larger corporate luau before and want to experience something different, choose this one. The natural views on top of the mountain are unbeatable. It was raining during our visit but somehow it made it even more cozy and beautiful. The staff worked around the rain seamlessly. Something to keep in mind, if it matters to you, is that the fire knife dancing is well done however they are not the most advanced in this art compared to other luau fire dancers. I think they are still young and learning. The bathroom situation was alright, they have the restroom trailers which are a step up from port a potties. I would recommend going to the restroom trailers while they are renovating on the bathrooms. They were clean, no complaints.

Dillan G.

Yelp
I thoroughly recommend this place. Intimate experience with incredibly friendly staff, gorgeous views, and great food. If you're looking for a lovely experience - I couldn't recommend Experience Nutridge enough. Also the shuttle driver was so kind. If you were debating an Uber or the shuttle driver from Wakiki do the shuttle

Yelp
This was our first luau, and it definitely exceeded our expectations! We were looking for some thing that was not so commercialized, and had hundreds of people attending. We were pleasantly surprised that Nutridge Luau at Nutridge Estate holds less than 100 people total. The luau was 4 hours long with lots of cultural and interactive dancing and games in an intimate setting. The views were spectacular! The food was authentic and the whole experience was truly amazing! Mahalo to everyone who participated and making our experience unforgettable.

Darren K.

Yelp
Disclosure - This is the only luau I have been to, but I have seen others (like at a hotel) as I walked past. My impression is that this was more authentic than most (they claim to be one of the few who offer LauLau as part of their buffet), which seems true. It is also smaller (and therefore more intimate) than the big production at other places. They also offer a ride service to pick you up and drop you off later, which saved the price of an Uber ride. Speaking of which, the driver was entertaining and educational - a significant part of my total satisfaction with the experience. The cons. The "crew" was only about 12 people, and they do everything from greeting to serving you food to doing the fire dance. They mostly looked like grad students for Hawaiian studies. If what you want is lots of pretty dancing girls and fierce warriors, look elsewhere. That being said, their fire dance was far from amateur, but it's obvious these folks are "jack of all trades, and master of none." If you are looking to gorge yourself on Hawaiian food, you may be disappointed. If you want LauLau without the Luau, try Ono's on the other side of the canal from Waikiki.

Yelp
So much fun! Educated, fed and entertained with a great view. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is wanting to have a cozy luau experience.

Yelp
Everything about this experience was incredible. When my wife and I travel, our goal is to immerse ourselves in a given culture and learn as much as possible. Honeymooning in Honolulu, we aimed to do just that. Experience Nutridge Luau gave us the opportunity to do just that. Everyone was so friendly and proud of their heritage, going the extra mile to be kind while also educating us along the way. Phenomenal experience probably the best thing we did while here.

Yelp
Love love love! We did this luau to start our trip and It really set the tone. We looked for a more intimate luau as everything else we were seeing was so large scale. Our trip was also shorter so we did not want to spend our time driving to the other side of the island from Waikiki. This was a 30 min drive with a beautiful drive to the estate. Drinks were delicious. The games and entertainment were also so fun and staff had a great sense of humor. The view is also to die for. Food was delicious, so be aware It is catered, they do not cook on site. And finally my tip would be to use bug spray!! I am prone to bites and was eaten alive. Other than that 10\10!

Yelp
A Disappointing and Overpriced Luau Experience I booked the Experience Nutridge Luau in Honolulu because it was advertised as a smaller, more authentic alternative to the large, flashy productions that feel like a Disney show. It was also conveniently located near Waikiki Beach and promised good food. Unfortunately, this experience was a complete letdown. The claim of a "small production" is misleading--it's not intimate or authentic, it's simply lacking ANY production value at all. The show felt like a poorly rehearsed effort by a group of 6 college friends who acted as though they were too cool to be there. They frequently forgot their lines, dropped the fire during dances, and seemed awkward throughout, constantly begging the audience to clap or laugh at awkward, predictable and lazy jokes. The entire performance felt forced and unprofessional. The activities were another disappointment. They took zero effort from the team and were rudimentary at best--throwing a stick or tossing a ball between two sticks. It was uninspired and left us wondering why we were paying a premium for such minimal effort. These activities allowed you to get a raffle ticket later to find out that you could with a can of SPAM, a can of macadamia nuts or a cup. The drinks were overly sugary, and the food was extremely average. Vegetarians were offered a small veggie patty and a sad leafy salad with about ten leaves. Everyone left hungry and disappointed with the dinner. To top it off, the event dragged on for four hours, far longer than necessary. By the first hour, I was already ready to leave, feeling trapped in a subpar experience that didn't come close to justifying its cost. The only positive was the view but honestly you are in Hawaii, every corner has a stunning view. You can find the same or better and for free from any view point on the road. I'm extremely confused and let down by all the positive reviews - they simply can't be real or people have absolutely zero standards when coming to Hawaii and expect to be ripped off for being tourists. If you're considering this luau, save your money and time. This was not worth it in any way.

Yelp
Such an amazing and very intimate experience. My girlfriend and I learned so much about hawaiian/polynesian culture and cuisine. They really made us feel like family! 10/10 would recommend

Yelp
It was my family's first time visiting Hawaii in October 2023 and we wanted a luau experience. I understood that most luaus are a "touristy" activity, but I wanted to find something that wasn't super commercialized. Thankfully Yelp and Reddit led me to Experience Nutridge! We wanted something fun, entertaining, intimate, and within a reasonable distance from our hotel in Waikiki. Experience Nutridge hit all those boxes! My favorite parts of this luau experience: *Roaming around the estate itself! We got an educational tour about the estate and its history. It was really interesting to learn about some Hawaiian history and culture, including how Nutridge was Oahu's first macadamia nut farm and how food was traditionally prepared for a luau. *The gorgeous views -- from both the estate and the drive up. We caught the beautiful sunset over the mountains. *The intimate feel of our group. I think we had about 80 people and it felt like we were at a really fun outdoor wedding reception. All the staff were really approachable and friendly, and we struck up conversations with other visitors as well. *Lots of activities outside of just sitting down and eating -- we had the estate tour as mentioned above, lawn games and cultural activities, and multiple performances at different parts of the estate. *Being up close and personal watching the performances -- there wasn't a bad seat in the house! Food & drinks: *Besides the highlights listed above, the food was also amazing! Sometimes I'm wary of the food at buffets or shows since the taste may be a lower priority. However, that's not the case here. Even though the food is catered and cooked off-site, everything was fresh and delicious. My favorite was the lau lau and taro loco moco. The meat was very tender and the taro had a nice, chewy texture. The pineapple dressing for the salad was also delicious. *There was plenty of food and everyone who wanted seconds (or thirds!) were able to get some. *We all got one complimentary cocktail and they also had a cash bar for additional drinks. Mai-tai and pina coladas were delicious and strong! You also don't have to pay Bay Area pricing (high teens) for a drink. It was only ~20-30 drive from Waikiki (including traffic) vs. 1+ hour to the other luaus on the other side of the island. If you have any food allergies, they can accommodate you. Just remember to make a note of it during your reservation or you can call them later. We had one person with an nut allergy and there weren't any issues -- he just couldn't eat the lilikoi bar that was one of the dessert options. Highly recommend this luau if you're visiting Oahu and staying in the Waikiki area!

Yelp
What a memorable ohana experience, we feel like our family has grown. My keiki enjoyed the show and food and warm hospitality. When they got in line for the spear throwing we watched them make a keiki sized spear on the spot just for them, truly mind blowing. Thank you for a wonderful night. -Christopher and Family

Yelp
Such a fun, intimate experience, highly recommend this luau. The first time we came to Hawaii we went to the luau at Polynesian Cultural Center, which is also great but a completely different experience. At Experience Nutridge, it was a smaller group and more interactive amongst the crowd. There's a lot of cultural learning activities that you get to participate in, which was super fun! We got to do temp tattoos, bracelet making, Hawaiian bowling and spear throwing. You get welcome drinks on your way in - choice of alcoholic or non alcoholic and one drink voucher. Any other drinks will need to be purchased after those two. The food is buffet style and it was delicious! Tried a lot of new foods that we didn't get to try before. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable in their culture. Our group absolutely loved this experience.
