Tasty jerk chicken, depending on who cutting your jerk chicken nd who is packing they will give you more. We usually get only jerk chicken and either half or a whole. Their salad is tasty bc the veggies are crunchy nd not overcooked.

This by far was the best oxtail with rice and peas & plantains i’ve ever had!! I got the full size plate for $20. It was delicious!

You got to give it to them! They know how to do grill chicken, either BBQ or Jerk. It's a tight squeeze, when it's busy. Upon entering, it's hard to tell whose picking up their order verses whose paying. The food is great but they need a cleaning team in there overnight, because you can seen dust on the HVAC vents. The staff try to move as fast as possible but the space behind the counter is limited so you have to be patient with them.

First time going there. Really enjoyed the food. Portions were great. Only one concern..."fix your face", people are spending money there!

Very ridiculous attitude. I wish I could give a zero star. I live in a different Borough but knew the spot like 7 years ago (They had nice workers then) and since I have a new job in Brooklyn, I decided to drive 4 miles to get food there. I ordered rice with Oxtail and small jerk chicken. Oxtail was $18 and jerk chicken was $7.50  which totalled $25.50 and I had $25.37,so I gave him $40 (2 $20 notes). He had some kind of attitude, so I said,dont worry about the jerk chicken,I will buy the oxtail alone. He then gave me a $10 note, a $5 note, 6 pieces of $1 note and 3 quarters. I politely asked him to give me the $20 note that he was holding and he refused,saying he has refunded the jerk chicken money. I tried explaining to him,instead he returned my money and said he wasnt selling food to me. A guy came out,they spoke and he told me that I can not expect my money not to be broken into pieces but he didnt bother to ask me what the problem was and they started attending to others.

I have eaten at exquisite in the past and the jerk chicken was excellent, but it seems that the flavor has changed and it’s not the same as it used to be. Unfortunately, I will not be making a trip back to this restaurant.

Good food, just a 15 minute or more wait sometimes. But as of late seems like they're falling off. Like 3 people in there excluding me and still was inefficient. Meat portions getting smaller. Got this small ox tail /14 bucks and 5 bony, chewy, fatty pieces. Time to change up !

Looks like it took me a while to come back to the area. I'm back in the area now and I had to stop by $15 for the jerk chicken and $20 for the oxtail. I guess the prices stayed the same but the portions got smaller? Regardless to say, even after all these years, the jerk chicken and still delicious and moist Oxtail was fall off the bone and so tender Delicious filling meal Get it with the rice and peas and get that jerk sauce

Amazing, filling and delicious! Both chicken and oxtail dishes were super flavorful. Chicken was juicy & the sauce from the oxtail was so good with the rice. Definitely a go to meal when I'm in the area

I came in 20 minutes before closing was able to a great meal and they were very friendly. I appreciate the ambience and the Customer Service will be coming back again.

They're deceptive. I ordered several large oxtail dinners from here. They put a tiny amount of oxtail in them and spread it over a large amount of rice to make it look like they gave you more oxtail. Additionally, they initially misheard my order and became surly when I corrected the order. They act as if they're doing you a favor by selling you food. The quality of their rice and peas is poor, and their oxtail is mostly bones. Total failure and will not be going back.

The food is good. I got a small (it is not small, it's 2 meals worth) jerk chicken plate which veg and pasta (instead of rice, so extra charge). I really liked it! Genuinely no complaints about the food. I do think the ordering process/layout of the restaurant is a little confusing and chaotic. Hopefully that can be improved upon. Otherwise, solid place. Will be returning!

Good jerk chicken. Pricy for the plate but good crispy chicken and i love the vegetables, they're actually crunchy flavored and not soggy. I love a good bite! A bit salty on the chicken but its cool you can actually only get chicken w no rice or sides for I remember it to be $8. But this plate in picture was like $15?(It was a while ago back in march). I always pass by nd smelled grilled chicken nd its right off the train station so I'm glad I finally got to try! Small place interior nd they do take card if you manage to catch the man who will swipe it for you.

The food is GOOD GOOD! Probably the best Jamaican food I've had (outside of Jamaica). Definitely authentic-I got the jerk chicken plate and it wasn't overly spicy to the point it obliterated your palate... but it still has a good kick to it. Cash only and super quick service!

The jerk is probably the best in the city, everything else is bad including the service but just get the jerk and you'll be happy

I've literally been buying jerk chicken from this spot for at least 18 years! As a Brooklyn girl with a strong connection to East Flatbush, I can say that outside of the Caribbean, the area has THE best West Indian food! And THIS particular spot has the best jerk chicken. And it's always fresh off the grill, cooked right in front of you. They also have the usual rice and peas, ox tails, macaroni pie (baked mac and cheese), fish, vegetables, etc. I've had several other items on the menu and they're all good, but most times I'm satisfied with chicken. Be warned, the place is small and in the winter, it can get a little steamy inside. The process is to place your order with one person who gives you a number (on your receipt) and then wait til your number is called. At that point, they give you an opportunity to put any sauces on your food (self serve) before they close it up. Note that only cash us accepted. Again, after two decades, I'm still sold on their jerk chicken!

I echo the great sentiments of these four and five star reviews! I tried the jerk chicken, it came with sliced hard-dough (Jamaican bread). It was wonderful! Feel free to get the sauce on the side if like me yuh ain't "saucy". Their crispy chicken skin, YES I SAID SKIN....for the win!!! The staff here is wonderful too, talks to patrons they haven't seen for a while with the Caribbean love of "what's up man, ah eh see yuh fuh ah long time, yuh gud?". There are other mains like salmon and oxtail. There was a white lady ahead of me getting her oxtail. She said "I love that thing man" hahaha). Good vibes all 'round! I love this little jerk-house! This is probably the only Caribbean restaurant in Brooklyn that I can swear by. The food is always good. I recently became a vegetarian and I came here after a long day at the salon. It took about 20 minutes for my number to call for them and then they dished out my food. Overall, I deducted one star because of the wait. There has to be a faster system. Also, I asked for a small container to pour out sauce. They charge extra for that.

I'm a fan of jerk chicken and have had this place highly recommended to me forever. I've never stopped in until now, mostly because there's no place to eat and the park is several blocks away. Ironically, I chose a chilly, cloudy day to stop in and bring my meal to the park, where it began to drizzle. I ordered the large jerk chicken lunch/dinner ($14 even.) It came with rice and peas, stewed cabbage and veggies, and plantain. You can pick your choice of rice (I also saw white and yellow vegetable rice.) I received quite a bit of food in one container- It weighed probably two pounds. In any case, it was enough to feed both my husband and I. I like that I got both cabbage and plantain, as a lot of places just give the cabbage. That was a pleasant surprise, as they were fried just right. The chicken wasn't spicy as in hot, but did have a pleasant smoky and vinegary taste. I think I got about 6 pieces (I didn't take a photo as I was so hungry!) Overall, I would definitely buy from Exquisite again. It's convenient right next to the Church Ave. station on the 2/5 train just off Nostrand- check them out.

I ordered here a few times and the food here is solid. The jerk chicken with rice one side and plantains is around $13. The jerk chicken is so delicious and has the right amount of seasoning and you can add some more jerk sauce and they also have this sauce that taste like pineapple. If you want sauce to the side it cost extra 50 cents. The ox tail with the plantains and side is around $15 and it is good. I prefer the jerk chicken more though. Service is okay. They been courteous to me so far. It is a take out spot and can get very busy. You can also see the chicken on the grill. Each time I been here the food has been fresh. It's also right by church avenue train station 2,5 train.

I have been living in east Flatbush for three years and I can't believe I am only just now discovering exquisite delight. This place has the best jerk chicken I've had to date and it comes at the best value. You get so much chicken and I get it with a heaping side of rice and veggies. Unlike most other Jerk chicken places in the area, the veggies not only contain cabbage but also contain green beans, carrots, etc. You can also choose from sides including macaroni and plantains. But let's get to the star of the dish; the jerk chicken. It is moist and falls off the bone. The skin is nice and crisp and exquisitely (pun intended) seasoned. I don't usually like chicken skin but i love how they prepare it at exquisite. Another trick I've seen people do is get the oxtail gravy poured over their chicken and rice (at no extra charge). Seems like one of the best kept secrets and I'll be sure to try it the next time I head over, which will certainly be sometime soon. And if you're not big on jerk chicken and looking for something else, they also serve delicious-looking salmon, baked fish, and oxtail as mains. This place really has something tasty for everyone. A must stop for all those visiting/living in Flatbush.

The food is great, my only complaint is the wire scrub they use to clean the grill in hey cooking sometimes leave pieces on the chicken, I found it twice. I've never had a problem with the customer service here.

We were hankering for a lunch place and found this joint cause we were intrigued by their menu offerings. We ended up ordering a $20 large combo plate of lamb curry and oxtail for takeout; it also came with vegetables and rice. When we got home, we found that the bowl was PACKED to the brim and more than enough to feed two people. The meal felt very much like soul food or comfort food to me, even though I'm Vietnamese HAHA -- the rice was delicious and had beans in it, the vegetables were yummy and a great change in texture, and the meat itself was marinated in just the BEST sauce and super tender. The rice mixed with the oxtail sauce in particular was SO good, and we were scraping the tin clean for it. Glad to know there's such a great food joint near me!

The food is good! Not the best curry chicken that I've ever had, but it was pretty good. The portions were large, and it made for 2 meals. The plantain were made perfectly, I'd go back just for them!

It had been well over a decade since I was last in this area of Brooklyn near Brooklyn College. I remembered the area mostly being smaller shops with some chain restaurants. This still holds true for the most part (though now there's Target and Starbucks). When time came for lunch, I knew I didn't want McDonalds or something I could get anywhere. I wanted something local. After using the handy dandy Yelp app, "Exquisite Delight" popped up as a choice place to eat in the area. As soon as I saw the storefront, I knew this was going to be the culinary experience I had hoped for. Was it fancy? Absolutely not. The storefront has seen better days and the interior has a worn, but well kept appearance. You see, this place doesn't focus on having a fancy interior. Instead it focuses on having amazing food. Here's what I tried: BAKED CHICKEN A simple, seasoned, baked chicken - yet absolutely delicious. It was seasoned very well, but not overly salty. The meat was cooked perfectly, tender and juicy with no pink showing. CHICKEN STEW I was surprised that a chicken stew had moist chicken. That sounds contradictory, but generally when chicken sits in liquids long enough it takes on a particular texture I'm not too fond of. No such worries here. The chicken also had a wonderful kick to it that the hot sauce lover in me really enjoyed. JERK CHICKEN I had this to go and reheated it later for dinner and it was some of the best jerk chicken I've ever had. Sometimes jerk chicken can suffer from an imbalance of seasonings or simply be overwhelming. No such worries here, and even after a reheating the meat was still nice and tender. LO MEIN The stir fry of egg noodles and vegetables was simple, yet tasty. When you order a side like this, they offer to put a sauce on top (I just used the sauce from my chicken stew). And can we talk about price? Because it was insane. Not that this is an expensive area, but for less than what a midtown Manhattan lunch costs you can stuff yourself silly and literally still be full hours later. The portions were more than generous and I was very happy with how much food was given. The staff was really cool and friendly. They took their time with each customer, making sure you got what you wanted as you ordered and they didn't skimp on well, anything (meat, sauce, sides etc.). I'd go back to Exquisite Delight any day for lunch or dinner. Definitely check it out if you're in the area!

I don't even like jerk chicken and I came here for oxtail - but I ended up leaving with a large jerk chicken meal. This is a hole in the wall no frills place as its CASH ONLY but there is an atm in the store. I ordered in the front, was given a receipt and waited for my number to be called. I chose my rice, veggies, gravy for rice, and complimentary plantains. I had to add the mac and cheese for an additional $1.50. The chicken is cut on the cutting board in front of you. Then, the worker placed it on the counter so I could add sauces. There are four sauces in squeezy bottles - jerk, bbq, hot, pineapple sauces. Then, the worker capped my meal and it was super difficult to close since its literally bursting with food. I was disappointed I couldn't eat there because there are only three seats by the window. The chicken was phenomenal as it was super juicy and moist. Rice and peas with the gravy was great - wish I had more gravy. Not your typical veggies (found cauliflower in there) as it was sour and rounded out the heavy dish. Mac and cheese was totally worth the extra $1.50. I wish that I could have added more sauce though. Overall, great no frills place to grab jerk chicken that serves large portions. The meal can definitely feed at least two people.

By far the best jerk chicken I have ever had in my life. I have had a number of jerk chicken places in nyc and this tiny place is the best by a mile. It can be a bit of a hike to Flatbush in Brooklyn to try this for a lot of people, but it is worth the trip in my experience. There was a small counter with 3 seats I laid claim to, and then when my chicken was ready I ate it intermittently with the sauce options there and washed it down with a fiery Jamaican ginger beer. I definitely will come back sometime soon.

This's the best Jerk Chicken I've eaten thus it's very flavorful & extremely tasted and it's consistently good a must try.

Best jerk chicken in Brooklyn hands down. I remember when I was a kid and my mom and dad would leave the 90's and come all the way to exquisite to get jerk chicken on the weekends. Years later I live around the corner from them...my friends only come visit me so they could go there. I have had their breakfast....lunch and dinner....and have yet to eat something from them that I dislike. I live for their fry bake...escovitch fish....oxtail....macaroni pie and jerk chicken. If your coming here on the weekends the wait is long but it is definitely worth it.

I'm always in search of good Caribbean food and with 4.5/5 stars on Yelp I couldn't help but to check this place out. When I arrived it felt like a mad house!! The restaurant was crowded but it was well organized. You place your order with the cashier and wait for your number to be called. Once called the lady will let you add any sauces to your dish. Whether it be jerk seasoning, pineapple mango, bbq or hot sauce. When you're done adding, she will then pack it up and your order is good to go. I ended up ordering their oxtail plate ($11 for small and $13 for large) that came with rice and beans and a side of cabbage. The dish was good, I hate to say that I had better before. The seasoning was good but it just didn't hit the spot for me and I also didn't know how much sodium was added to the oxtail. I also ordered their jerk chicken and although it was good, it didn't taste like it had enough jerk flavoring. I do like the fact that the chicken was grilled and how juicy the meat was but somehow it lacked that punch that I was looking for. If I was around this area and someone suggested to eat here, I would say, "sure why not". However if you ask me would I want to travel back here, the answer is probably not.

Biddy Biddy Bung Bung. This place is worth the wait. However, getting served in a caribbean restaurant is like traveling in space and by the time you get back to earth you've lost many of years. Your family is much older if not dead, a guy named Trump has become president and sneakers lace themselves. But getting that $6.00 jerk chicken with a side of cabbage and Mac n Cheese will send you back to that '92 Carnival cruise ship singing "Feeling Hot Hot Hot!"

Best Jerk chicken hands down. This place is cash only, but they do have an ATM inside the place. They have other good foods, but that Jerk chicken is the best in town.

Once inside they kinda rush you to order lol but I understand; there's a line outside the door!!! :) So you already know the food definitely lives up to it's name! We got curry chicken, oxtails with cabbage and rice and beans. I didn't take a picture of the food we got but please know it was an exquisite delight!! My palate was very satisfied! One thing for certain, I'll be back when I'm back in town!

Best chicken I've ever eaten ! Noodles were great too ! It's worth the detour even if it's out of your way. The chicken is so juicy and tasty , it falls off the bone the minute you touch it.

Has always been a favorite but I see that genuine customer service and respect towards women especially after YEARS of service and devotion to even travel boroughs to show love. This place has the best beef soup on Saturdays. Feel like I'm at my grandma house back in Jamaica omg so good. I know most people start their reviews about the jerk chicken which it is one of the best in Flatbush if not Brooklyn but also try their salmon which is also very popular and very tasty and their fried fish. I been here so many times and didn't write a review but it's cuz the food is so good I just grab it and run home and eat it lol.

Came here to try their chicken and oxtail. You order at the far end where the cashier is. They call your number when your order is being prepared. Before they pack everything up they leave the uncovered trays of food on the counter so you can add your own sauces on top. Sauce choices: BBQ - standard BBQ sauce Jerk - tangy, spicy with a hint of sweet Hot - tangy and hot - ~6.5/10 in heat Ketchup Jerk chicken (9$ for small) - tender, moist, good charcoal flavor BBQ chicken (9$ for small) - really tender and fall off the bone Ox tail (10$ for small) - comes with rice and beans, approx 8 pieces of oxtail. flavor was good but it wasn't as tender as other places I've tried Selection of Caribbean beverages in the fridge Overall you get a lot of chicken the price. The oxtail platter however had way too much rice and barely any oxtail for 10$

Honestly, Exquisite is good. I like the jerk chicken dinner. I did not like the barbecue chicken dinner. The escovitch fish was just okay; a bit overcooked for my liking. The three stars are simply because service is extremely slow and all the staff have bad attitudes. They act like there aren't hundreds of other jerk chicken spots in nyc let alone brooklyn. They also can use an upgrade of the place when they get the chance.

I LOVEEEE their jerk chicken and its the best I've tasted in a while. The spot gets crowded a lot and they can be a bit slow with moving the lines. However, the wait is definitely worth it. I usually order the rice and peas with a lil veggie for $9. You definitely can make two meals out of the plate.

This place USUALLY has the oxtail in the Brooklyn and we drive across from bedstuy since they closed the Crown Heights location a few years ago. The steamed veggies are always flavorful and crisp. But be prepared to wait. The process is as follows: walk to the register, place your order, pay, get your receipt with the number, and wait to get called (which can take a while). After going through this process and waiting 30 minutes, I was served my 2 orders of oxtail. I got home, opened the container to see I was given a bag of fatty bones, with spice and zero flavor. The gravy was oily and lacking the signature seasoning they are known for, pooling at the bottom of the pan, drowning my rice and veggies. I have never, in 17 years of eating at any of their locations been so disappointed. I gave them 3 stars because usually better, if this was my first time, it would have been 1 star. I wasted $15 plus a tip to the lady who made the plate.

If you are like most Yelper foodies, when you are in a new place that you have never been before you start Yelping for good places to eat. In this case it's the Flatbush section of Brooklyn NY, more specifically Church Ave and Nostrand Ave. We asked our B&B host for a recommendation of where to eat. I Yelped their recommendation and came up with four starts!!! But the place only received 5 reviews total with four 5 Star and one 1 star review. No"elite" reviewers so I can't take those four star reviews too seriously. By happenstance while waiting for a bus at this intersection I click on the nearby restaurants function of the Yelp app and up pops Exquisite Delight, BBQ and Jerk chicken, ox tails and other Caribbean specialties, this sounds promising. Several hundred reviews, most of them very positive, now I have to try it out for myself. This place only has a few seats inside, cash only and 99% of the people take their food to go. The food? It's called "Exquisite Delight" and it lives up to it's name. Ox tails are tender and seasoned deftly. The BBQ chicken is well made with moist meat and flavorful skin. The jerk chicken is praised as one of the best if not the best in the area. Although often labled a jerk I'm not an expert in the chicken of my namesake, all I can say is the chicken is great tasting and juicy. These combo items come with brown or yellow rice, vegetables and plantains as an accompaniment. These are not merely items to fill out your large or medium foil container but genuine complements that improve the experience. Do you often hear about people praising the vegetables at a meatcentric place? Well I will, they are well seasoned and not mushy or overcooked. You place your order, pay and then wait for them to call you to the counter where they will ask you your preferred sides options. Before sealing your choices under a plastic dome you will be given the opportunity to quickly further directly season your meal with a half-dozen side sauces if you please. If you are one of those people like me who partially judge your takeout meal by it's weight, you will be pleased. Carrying several of these meals any distance will help to pre-load your appetite as will the heavenly smells and envious stares from passerbys. Even those who do not judge their meal by mass will be pleasantly surprised. If you are nearby or living in the area, seek this place out for an old fashioned coma inducing meal or three.

Exquisite Delight is just that! The best fire grilled jerk chicken in the Flatbush. Get the Large Jerk Chicken, Chicken Only, Extra Hot with some sliced hard dough bread and you're set! Cash only, takeout only, masks required, hand sanitizer available at the door. The best deal in the neighborhood is for the best jerk chicken in the neighborhood too, so expect to wait outside: Worth the wait.

The most amazing jerk chicken in all of Brooklyn. My friend did a take out order of jerk chicken and bought it to a picnic we were having. It was completely devoured and there was so much left over of all the other food. The spices they just get right and each taste you're wanting more like I'm pretty sure I ate half of what she bought haha! While she was waiting for the order too, she met another customer who was waiting for the order and he didn't even live in the neighborhood but he claimed this was the best spot for jerk chicken. Seriously no disappointments here!

A Brooklyn staple, Exquisite never dissapoints with authentic carribean cuisine. Known for their whole jerked and roasted chicken, their meat falls off the bone. With fast and courteous service, i wish they had more of a dine in option. This is a must visit on every visit to BK!

Hands down good jerk chicken. The wait surprisingly wasn't long. This is def a neighborhood spot and I personally wouldn't travel far for it. This area hasn't been gentrified yet so definitely watch your back. It is cash only and as of 01/01/19 the prices have increased. A large Jerk with tax cost $14 while you can get a whole Jerk for $15( these are not the updated prices). Overall, it Satisfy my cravings for roughly 2 meals. I like the fact that they do have a sauces on the side so that you can basically drench your food in there before they close it up and pack it away for you. Nothing is really special. When asked why I came here I said because it was close and the portions were worth the money. Easy peasy!

Excuse my French but the food is fucking NASTY. As a Jamaican I can say this is NOT Jamaican food or anything close to it ! I bought a large jerk chicken with rice and peas with curry goat gravy and a large curry goat with rice and peas last night. FLAVORLESS AND DISGUSTING DISGUSTING DISGUSTING! I don't know what the hell I ate because every inch of the two meals were unappetizing. All of these people giving high reviews must've never had actual Jamaican food in their life because what I had last night... CHA! GARBAGE. And to have the audacity to charge $15 for a single plate of THAT food Never again !!!!

This place is the spot! Always hits the spot when you don't want to cook but don't want to spend a lot. It's cash only, but it's worth it. There's always a line so that means something. I had their fish too but I prefer their jerk chicken.

Honestly, we've tried a bunch of places for jerk. A lot of places really. And we've gotten jerk that ranged from meh to pretty good. And then one day I was driving by this place and saw the line outside, so, of course, we had to add this place as a try. So glad we did! The wait was long. Ridiculously long. It takes a few minutes to even get your order in. Then once it's in, expect to wait another 20 minutes for your meal. It will basically take you 30 minutes each and every time, so don't go in hangry. Also, this place is a takeout place so don't expect any ambiance whatsoever. Instead, expect chicken that's skillfully cooked over a fire, along with a complementary sauce that will blow your mind. The best jerk chicken in NYC, IMO. Pile on any of the sides. You won't regret it. The rice and accompanying cabbage are really good. So is their veggie pattie. Probably my favorite pattie ever. Bottom line? If you're looking for amazing jerk chicken and aren't waiting until your hunger will make you explode, this is the place.

this particular restaurant only looks good as far as our eyes allows us to see. i went there roughly about 3 weeks ago to purchase some jerk chicken. mind you it use to taste pretty delicious before. while standing waiting on my order. there was 3 cockroaches crawling from right under the hot tray where all the food are store. this frick me out. not 1 3 cockroaches. so this will be my last time in the restaurant. obviously there are not doing something right in this store. .the attitudes of the employees are very rude ,disrespectful and has no common sense..

We bought 2 x small jerk chicken plates and 1 veggie platter at Exquisite Delight. It was so much food!!! I was very impressed with the whole dish and want to try their breakfast soon, as other people have been raving about that, too.

Excellent jerk chicken and escovitch fish. This place is one of my favorite go to spots for some good food.
