Had no problems until the new company extra storage took over. Now it is nothing but problems and drama. I’ve never dealt with somebody disrespectful people in my life. Their phone etiquette is disturbing to say the least my last conversation with a woman who identified herself as Alice she had so many feelings about the situation and me it was Sad. She sounded unhinged I paid for my unit through January 2025. When I moved in, and then I moved to Texas. They’re refusing to credit me. They’re telling me that Public Storage didn’t give them all of the records. They’re saying it ought to me to provide the receipts. I have provided the receipts that’s the worst thing and then they keep telling me well I haven’t. I shouldn’t have to pay them a dime until February 1, 2025 1000 miles away and they’re holding my property hostage and speaking to me and my wife like we were in junior high school and she was a schoolyard bully it was sad and pathetic. I’ve asked to speak to upper management and I’ve had no success.

Edit: Extra Space are great, I plan to stay here. They got the gate access fixed much quicker than initially anticipated. I was never unable to access my things and only had to do so with office assistance for a couple days. Employees are super nice and helpful. How scummy is Public Storage to ask for reviews (that will be bad) that will go to the new owners (who are good) rather than them? Original 1-star: Why would I leave a good Public Storage review when you dumped our site and gutted the offices as you left so the new management company Extra Space (very nice people) couldn’t even get our access set back up until ANOTHER company came and replaced everything you took so the gates could be reprogrammed?

The transition has been almost completely transparent. No glitch in access and the gentleman “Bob” I think, that helped me was a real personable and helpful person. Very happy w/ the change. Thank you, Jim Herring

Hoping my review will save others going through what we’ve been through. We moved from our old storage unit to the storage unit because it was a lot closer to our house and it had really good reviews. We moved into the storage unit February 2023. We needed two units. One outdoor & one AC inside. I spoke to the lady that signed us up in great detail, because moving two storage units is a lot of work and my husband and I were doing it by ourselves. She said that the indoor unit she was giving us was air-conditioned. I told her the importance of the unit to be air-conditioned. The reason is my father passed away and a lot of the sentimental things (including his military stuff) are stored in that unit. I also asked how often they raise the prices on the units because I know it’s normal for storage units to do that. She said maybe once a year and not by very much. At Easter time, I went by the storage units and both exterior doors to the interior Climate controlled units were broken. Allowing hot air to go into the unit. The doors were not closing. When summer came around, I noticed the indoor unit was extremely hot. It was hotter than the outdoor unit. I mentioned this to them and they told me that it was a climate controlled unit not air-conditioned unit. I explained to them that when I signed up, I specifically asked for air-conditioning and they told me that it was an air-conditioned unit. They said they do not have any air-conditioning units. That’s not what I was told when I signed up. I put in a thermometer and the temperatures were getting up to 130° in the climate controlled unit. I immediately let them know that the unit was not climate controlled either because it is extremely hot in there. The lady that was working in there said she knows it’s been broken for a long time and to call corporate because they’re not fixing it. By the way, the doors did not get fixed for over half a year. So throughout the whole summer, the door did not get fixed as well as the climate controlled units were not getting cooled down because the swamp coolers were broken. I called corporate and let them know multiple times that the doors were broken and needed to get fixed and that the, coolers were not working. I was able to move some items out like photos, and was able to preserve those but some of my stuff was damaged by the heat. They have raised the prices multiple times since we’ve been there. When we first rented the units we were paying $470 for a 10 x 10 climate controlled unit and a 10 x 35 outdoor unit. It has doubled in the year we have been there. If I signed up today for the exact same units I would be paying $327. I understand that the price goes up occasionally, but within a little over a year it’s doubled in price which is ridiculous. Also having broken doors that were not secured in a climate controlled section and having the climate control broken during the summer months is just ridiculous. We’re really frustrated because we were lied to from the beginning. If you’re looking for an honest, good storage unit, I highly recommend dollar self storage off of the 303 and Indian school I believe. Their prices will increase but not ridiculously and the units are extremely clean and it’s very secure.

It's sad to see that as a new company taking over public storage, they would allow reviews to personally bash the previous company. That shows the integrity of the company, and the owners. Public Storage had a great property manager, and does not deserve that kind of treatment....especially from a new company stepping in.

I have had my unit for 6 months, and when I went into my unit to get my things EVERYTHING was covered with black and white specks. It left a very thick film that was difficult to clean. It looks like it came from the AC hallway, it was disgusting. The doors also don’t stay open when makes it difficult bringing things in and out.
