Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. The vibe is very warm and inviting. Loved the lobby/restaurant/bar area. Always had gentle appealing music playing and in the evening had candles burning creating such a great atmosphere. The food in the restaurant was really good. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The staff was all friendly and helpful. Maybe an 8 minute walk to the cute part of Reykjavik. Parking was free which is rare and was so nice. Fitness center only had one piece of cardio equipment, but other than that the hotel was pretty perfect. The view from our room was also wonderful. Will definitely stay there again when we go back to Iceland.

Such a wonderful experience staying at Eyja Guldsmeden Hotel for our Honeymoon in Iceland. Even from before we arrived, the customer service was exceptional and they helped us to arrive safely after a long journey. Staff on reception were helpful and accommodating to our requests and gave lots of useful advice about visiting Reykjavik. The rooms were clean and the location was perfect for travelling on tours or walking into town. Lovely view out of the window of the ocean - we actually saw the Northern Lights out the window on the second night! We appreciated their eco products. Thank you so much to the team for a fantastic stay, we look forward to coming back again in April! 😊🙏🏼

The Eyja is a solid 4 star hotel. The staff was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The room was nicely appointed and had a calming feel to it. There is parking on both sides of the hotel. But the back door is locked so you if park there you’ll end up walking around the building to the front. The location is further away from the main tourist areas by foot so you may end up walking more than expected. Overall, a really good hotel and I’d stay there again.

This hotel was even better than the photos and the view of the harbor and mountains we had (from our room on the 4th floor) was lovely!||We were also able to check in really early (before 10am) which was extremely helpful coming off a cruise ship. ||I loved the cute eclectic decor and the bed was so comfy! Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The hotel is warm and welcoming. My room (215) was quiet and clean...there is a free 24/7 coffee and tea station in the lobby which is a nice treat. Also the hotel will store your luggage if your room is not ready

Cosy hotel. The beds could have been a bit softer and we missed heat in the bathroom floor. Nice sink made from stone in the bathroom. Really romantic with canopy bed and cute lamps. Dragonfly theme on everything. 💕🤩 Breakfast was really nice. Recommended.

My son and I just returned from a 5 night stay. The rooms were very clean and mostly quiet. The breakfast buffet was outstanding (albeit pricey). We had dinner and drinks here once or twice. The beds were comfortable. Staff were very courteous. I love the 24/7 coffee availability. There is a market directly behind the hotel (Bonus market) with a good selection. Parking was free, which is amazing for Reykjavík.

Like staying with relatives- inviting, cozy, great location, and top tier breakfast||My partner and I flew in from America. We arrived in the early morning, with a reservation that night.|The hotel welcomed us, with open arms, early.|They had a delicious, decadent breakfast buffet. We ate to our hearts content and took a nap.|Our 1 night stay turned into 3 or 4. The hotel was very boutique. Everything was small and cozy with a wonderful lobby area. The staff was incredibly helpful- going out of their way to take care of us.
