Ezell's Famous Chicken Review - Lynnwood - Seattle - The Infatuation

"When we say we want a half pound of tenders, we don’t really mean it. We mean a half pound of tenders, plus a few extra pieces that magically appear in there for good measure—and this Ezell's location in Lynnwood gets that. Whether it’s an oil-specked paper bag heavy with chicken or a take-out container of coleslaw so full it can barely close, these folks do portions well. Sit down inside the decently sized dining room among little league baseball teams and coworkers on their lunch break." - Kayla Sager-Riley

Google
Ezell’s is already a well-known and beloved chicken brand in WA. Their chicken is absolutely delicious and always hits the spot! However, the prices have been increasing lately, which is really unfortunate. It makes it harder to enjoy as often as I’d like. I hope they find a way to keep their amazing quality while staying affordable for loyal customers like me.

Google
Came in for a bite on our vacation. What an amazing place to enjoy homemade food! The chicken was crispy and well coated, the sides fresh and piping hot! The sweet potato pie, well, you have to come and try! Frank was absolutely great! Recommendations on point, courteous, and kind. Attentive and made great recommendations.

Google
Their chicken is just plain good. We ordered a large amount for a party. Unfortunately the fries are really cold. Other than that it was great. The staff could be a little friendlier. We left a nice tip despite the words “hello or thank you,” we’re not used. Greeting and thanking customer should be in normal interaction. The chicken so darn good. I just have to overlook it.

Google
Ezells spicy chicken is the best every time I have ordered for pick up it has been hot and fresh the spice is perfect the chicken is always crispy, juicy and tender. The atmosphere inside is always welcoming, pleasant, and clean. The customer service is always friendly if you order in house and have to wait a bit just know your getting fresh hot chicken.

Recently went to eat some Nice chicken. I move from downtown to Lyndwood not long ago. So I’ve been going to the Ezells that is in front of Garfield HS. Very reliable option. But here to my surprise seems like a new place I guess, very clean, staff is not super friendly but I get it they doing their job. But my biggest issue was that the chicken was a dry as the Sahara desert on a summer sunny day. I mean I can tolerate bad treatment, junkier place but dry chiken? For real ? Gotta work on that man. Putting good old Ezells name on the ground.

Google
We ordered two family size 24pc for our daughters 1st birthday party. All of our guests loved the chicken and sides. Our order was hot and ready to go when we arrived for pickup. My only regret was not getting spicy chicken strips for myself.

Google
Over rated Costco chicken, and they can never get an order right. Spent $100 dollars on food tonight, missing all my drinks and my extra rolls. Idk why i keep coming back besides its close and easy. Really need to find a better chicken place. Also, the kens honey mustard is 10000% better than their watery gross honey mustard

Google
Came here after a nice day trip from North Cascades National Park. We were hungry and needed a break from the traffic on I-5. The chicken was nice and crispy. The sides were good. Exactly what we needed to get back to the road to Seattle.

Yelp
Stopped in for some food. The manager Austin was very helpful in walking me through the menu. I got a few things to try it out, and it was DELICIOUS. I didn't get the potatoes salad when I found out it wasn't the "southern style" which includes egg.. but Austin went ahead and through it in my bag for me as I left and I'm glad he did cause it was very tasty.! Wish the peach cobbler was warm but it was still good.! The chicken is seasoned to perfection... no sauce is even needed.! Definitely will recommend

Yelp
So this is some nasty, flavorless and disgusting tasting chicken. I'm not even sure if I should be mad at myself for paying almost $40 for 8pcs of chicken with 2 jumbo sides or for listening to the Black guy who said it was good. Does Seattle not have Lawry's seasoning salt or any salt here? As a first time visitor (and consequently last), I'm pretty disturbed that this place is even in business. I mean if you're gonna sell fried chicken, make it taste like true fried chicken THAT HAS SALT ON IT!! First of all, what kinda watered down, season-less thick batter is this?? Secondly, how in the world can you claim being "famous" when you can't even taste any seasoning in the chicken itself. Thirdly, your "gravy" is a disgrace. It's watery, has no flavor or salt and tastes scorched. The mashed potatoes are hard and not creamy, more like boxed potatoes. The only edible things I enjoyed are the baked beans and yeast rolls. Bruh, y'all chicken is not famous...it's not even mediocre. If the locals love it, then they've never eaten true fried chicken that comes seasoned. Please change your slogan to "Ezell's Tryna Be Famous Chicken."

Tressa R.

Yelp
We just waited for over thirty minutes for a basic order. No one on the front head would explain why it was taking so long and they kept saying it would be 4 more minutes!

Sam A.

Yelp
1st time going to this location, when getting home and going through my food notes that I didn't receive All of my order calling them back and talking to the manager all he could say is come back and we'll get you what we forgot I told him I live 30 minutes away ok he said the next time you come in we will take care of you and took my name and number down so the next time I went in they had no idea who I was poor customer service !!
google avatar

Robert W.

Yelp
Chaotic but well runner. Phone ringing off the hook. Everyone seem to be enjoying their work and vibed well. Chick was hot but personally need a touch more flavour especially for the spicy. Mashed potatoes and gravy not good. Definitely a mix and not fresh on the flip side the coleslaw had a great flavor

Yelp
A newer location for the Ezells chicken franchise, this location provides the tried and true recipes of the original in downtown Seattle. Ordering is quick and easy, pretty simple menu that allows you a few options but makes it so you get your food quickly. Large and spacious seating allows for a quick bite in comfort.

Linda U.

Yelp
I'm basing my review on their Original chicken recipe. The chicken could not have been more tasteless. It was crispy which I appreciated, but tasteless. Not sure how Ezell's chicken could ever become famous at this rate. I've read reviews where the business owner acknowledged that other customers complained about this. But the recipe continues to be tasteless. Suggestion: At least add more salt if you are actually adding any at all. I actually spoke with the cook and she said she just follows the recipe. Everything was okay about the service, cleanliness, etc. EXCEPT for the Original chicken entree.

Yelp
Dry chicken. Very dark and hard breading. And they did not get my order right. Probably will never go back. If I did, it would have to be early like lunchtime. Maybe the food was mediocre because it was 1.5 hours before closing. On a good note, the cashier was friendly.

Mari C.

Yelp
I got the small spicy tender order with a side of fries. Crazy and annoying how it doesn't just automatically come with fries as most people offer that. The tenders were moist and loved the spice level. Fries were crispy and delicious as well as their side of bread. My friend ordered the gizzards so I got to try it but we were not fans of it so wouldn't recommend it. Food came out pretty quick and service was good. I'd stop by again if it's close to me as it wasn't anything too special but wouldn't drive to it. Food: 7/10 Service: 7/10

Jon Y.

Yelp
I have no idea why people think this chicken tastes good. Honestly, this is some of the blandest fried chicken I've ever tasted, and they don't offer a selection of sauces to help the taste better. Three times, and every time I didn't even want to finish the chicken. Why do so many people like bland, boring chicken?!
google avatar

Yelp
Super disappointed with the food and service. Will never come back here. Family friendly: yes Parking: yes, small lot Pet friendly: no FOOD: - 16 piece combo, family meal: ordered all dark meat, Mac and cheese, mash potato, and fries. We got mix (white and dark) and no fries at all - 2 lbs fried gizzard: we ordered 1 lb original and 1 lb spicy. They both weren't bad except there wasn't any heat. Both tasted the same even tho one had a darker color to it which would indicate the heat. - 1/2 lb fried liver: not a fan of fried liver but at least it was crispy. SERVICE: - The wait: we arrived early and decided to check if our order was ready since most places are generous with the wait time. They said the order was being worked on however come to find out they only had to load one more box. After 5 mins we saw two coworker arguing as the one finishing our order thought the other one gave our order once she was done. So our order was sitting... getting soggy. - The missing order: When we got home we realized we were missing fries. We called the restaurant hoping to see if we can get a partial refund. The person that picked up said we could return to their store even tho we told her it's a 30 mins drive. That was pretty much the end of the conversation. - The incorrect order: After the first two issue, we're pretty unhappy, but starving so we dug in. That's when we also realized they didn't provide us with all dark meat like we ordered. We didn't bother calling back since the interaction on the phone about the fries... it's really disappointing as we really like their Woodinville and mill creek location. If we ever go back it'll will be one of those but I'm definitely not rushing to eat from them any time soon.

Yelp
I visited this location last night and received the worst food I have ever purchased from a takeout chain. The chicken had been under the heat lamps for so long that it was dried and burned. Prior to that it has been cooked in bad oil and was seasoned with more salt than I had ever encountered in fried chicken. The potato salad had gone bad and the baked beans were more sauce than beans which were also way too sweet. The young lady at the counter was very kind and professional, but the food was absolutely not acceptable. I will not be going back to this location ever again.

Reanna P.

Yelp
i dined in & got the 1/2lb tenders & they were good, the cajun fries were crispy, mac n cheese was good & the roll was soft & sweet. it's a pretty good bang for your buck imo & hits the chicken tenders & fries craving for sure. staff was nice also.

Yelp
This restaurant serves amazing fried chicken. I ordered my chicken spicy, it was delicious and had tons of flavor and great texture. The sides I ordered were mac-n-cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. The mac-n-cheese was very good, but the mashed potatoes weren't very smooth, they were a bit firm. The chicken was delicious, as well as the dinner rolls. I will definitely order this chicken again.

Yelp
Always great chicken from Ezell's in Lynnwood! I got a half pound of Spicy Chicken Tenders with hot sauce and honey mustard on the side. If you're looking for some awesome chicken strips, I highly suggest Ezell's!
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
Can't get them to answer phone with new system. Doesn't allow any notes on any app. Pieces small

Johnny C.

Yelp
Please Be Aware... this place for Togo order needs to check every time... I ordered 8 piece chicken and I got 6 dried pieces of chicken so I called the store and the rep said I can go back and pick it up next day or so... omg... not going back to this location!!

Yelp
Our order was only 50% correct. Out of all the items they only got 50% right. Our order was missing three(!!) Items and they gave us something we didn't order and didn't want. The person on the phone didn't seem to understand why this was an issue and it took five minutes of taking before they finally agreed to give a refund for one of the missing items. They then didn't even ask for our order number or any information to confirm they would be refunding the correct people. We don't trust that they'll actually issue the refund and intend to file a chargeback with our credit card company to make sure we get a refund for all missing items. The cherry on top was that they didn't apologize.
google avatar

Ruth B.

Yelp
Updating our review because we had previously had so many missing items so many times without any way of contacting management. After leaving a review we received a response with contact info via google and were able to receive a refund for one order. We ordered again since then and recieved all of our items.

Yelp
Oh my goodness I actually love this chicken spot. The chicken is crispy but not greasy. It was very tasty and flavorful. Their sides are good and their rolls, my god their rolls are phenomenal. I absolutely love their dinner rolls. They are soft and also sweet. The crinkle cut fries were not seasoned, but they were good. I warmed them up in the air fryer later and they were still just as good. I really wish that their spicy chicken was actually spicy.
google avatar

Yelp
I sent an email to the email provided by Lewis, and got no reply. I don't know if the email provided was bogus or there are just alot of complaint emails to sort through. Either way, it's a bummer.

Yelp
Based on my last take out order, I cannot recommend their chicken. It's been many years since I've had Ezell's, and from what I remembers, their chicken was tasty, juicy, crunch, and big. Some friends of mine never had Ezell's, so I was excited to bring this over to their house. It was such a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. There was ZERO taste to the chicken. The batch they gave us must have forgotten all the seasoning somehow. However, the chicken was still juicy and tender, and had a really crunchy exterior. If there was any taste (like i remembered), it would have been probably been great. The rolls are still good, but not as good as I remembered them to be. They are however, nice and fluffy. So sad...but KFC had much better tasting chicken then Ezell's now. Not sure I'll ever be back here.
google avatar

Jesse M.

Yelp
Love this place. I always call ahead, or from the parking lot even because they have your order fast. The spicy chicken tenders are awesome and their sauces are really good as well. Highly recommend!

Patrick H.

Yelp
Asked for a two piece platter. Spicy, white with baked beans and potatoe salad. When it came the gave me a breast and the smallest wing I ever seen. Asked the attendant about it, and she said it was small cause of the other piece. Wtf This does not occur at other stores, attendant needs to be educated

Yelp
Came back after a long time and the guy working the cash register was SO NICE. Every customer that walked in was greeted with a "Hi, welcome in!" And that's rare for a "fast food" joint to take even 2 seconds to say that. There was also another girl with a blue shirt and long curly hair that brought food out to the tables, who was super fast and nice. I ordered large gizzards and small chicken tenders. I was told the gizzards are made fresh to order so it took about 10 minutes, but they were piping hot and so good. Either management has improved or they got new employees because the service and food have gotten so much better!

Yelp
So I've been going to Ezelle's forever but normally the location in the central district and anytime I don't go to that one I'm always thoroughly disappointed with the quality of food and the amount that of food you receive differs from each location. This one was specifically notable as I got the three chicken strip meal and the chicken strips were maybe the size of your pointer finger the coleslaw was bland and overall unsatisfying. This has really turned me off of wanting to go to these chain restaurants ever again.
google avatar

J. R.

Yelp
I tried it some time ago and remember it was good. But--wasn't there a business split-up where the original recipe went to another place (that I won't name)? Thanks.

Brett C.

Yelp
This place has gone so downhill over the past few years. The pieces of chicken are tiny now, and the prices are sky high. On top of that, half the time they are overcooked. I can't recommend them to anyone.

Yelp
In the midst of moving and waiting for my stuff to get here have been eating out a lot. The service at this location is outstanding. The nice team and the accommodating service was amazing. The food is honestly so so. The chicken: According to my friend (I do not eat meat): Tender, flavourful and juicy but the breading was gummy/chewy and too bready. The Sides: Mashes potatoes: Were way too chunky and soooo dry....and a little flavourless. Mac and Cheese: I am not sure what happened to this Mac and cheese but it wasn't like the little elbows you are used to-mine were all these little tiny pieces of elbow pasta? I couldn't really tell because they were so pulverized? maybe the 3 containers I received were from the bottom and the leftovers? It was also way too oily where the cheese and oil separated. The rolls are delicious....soft and warm and just plain good. If you have a need for fried chicken and some sides I may go here if there is nothing else available but I think I will stick to my regular go to....
google avatar

Josh G.

Yelp
I've never had a bad experience here, the tenders can be a little small but I get 1/2 a pound every time so I don't have to deal with portions. Besides the size of the tenders I have nothing but good things to say. Never had bad service or bad food.
google avatar

Conni M.

Yelp
Uh, this is supposed to be a golden brown spicy chicken breast. It was ordered around 4:30 pm. It actually didn't even resemble a breast as it was mostly ribs(!). Pretty disappointing to pay $5 for something like this. The Ezell's On 180th Bothell/Everett Highway is great. This location not so much.

Yelp
Catching up with belated Yelp posts, this is for a first time visit at the Lynnwood location of Ezell's Famous Chicken back on 3/24/18. The Homie and I accompanied his 10 year old cousin, it was her request to stop here. The suburban interior sure is clean with standard décor...even has Guy Fieri of Food Network Triple D fame. The counter person who took our order was a bit of a ditz, but hey someone has to earn a living. The Homie and I had the two dark piece with squishy rolls. The niece had the chicken strips - surprisingly she went to town on these. This was stop #1 of her belated birthday progressive outing. Best Ezell's is the original site in Seattle's Central District across the street from Garfield HS. That has the photo of Oprah. But then this was before the big legal brouhaha that resulted in these suburban Ezell cookie cutter sites and the much preferred Heaven Sent sites (run by the original Ezell Stephens!)

Yelp
So goooood! We got half & half chicken strips and a large order of cajun fries. It was enough to split for dinner, and cost only around $15 (minus tip, of course). The chicken was crispy, juicy and flavorful, and we really enjoyed the blue cheese sauce that we picked to come with. There wasn't a huge flavor difference between regular and spicy from what we could tell, but both were incredibly good anyway. Cajun fries were also great - they held up really well after 15 minutes in the car, too. The service was nice, impressively quick and professional. They had hand sanitizer available and clear signs designating how many folks should be in the lobby at once. Definitely didn't feel as stressful as some other covid-era restaurant experiences. It was our first time but we'll definitely be back soon. Support your local black-owned businesses :o)

Yelp
Picked up lunch from a local Ezell's in Lynnwood after hearing the hype around how this is a fried chicken legend in the PNW. Ordered the lunch special of 2 fried chicken (original or spicy) with a choice of side, one roll, and drink for around $10. I ordered the bone in chicken spicy, with mashed potatoes and gravy, and got a Sierra Mist. Sauce here is $.50 which is no biggie but I didn't realize it being my first time here and wanted bbq sauce and was asked to wait back in line to order any sauces. The staff at this location is rude. My coworkers and I were served so much attitude both ordering our food and picking up from the counter that it put a sour taste in our mouths even before we got to eat our chicken. Fried chicken is very mediocre as well as the tenders that my coworkers ordered. The fried chicken tasted very basic - it wasn't spicy, or seasoned to a point where it didn't need sauce and the chicken wasn't impressively juicy. I think due to it being around lunch time they batch made chicken in advance and let it become dry under the heating lamp. Only saving grace here are their sweet rolls that come complimentary to some dishes. Side dishes of both mashed potatoes, potato salad, and mac and cheese were just alright. I might stick to Popeyes next time.

Keith M.

Yelp
Really gone downhill, don't waste your time. It's really too expensive to be so bad. Used to be my favorite, now I won't go back. You can send messages on yelp
google avatar

Lisa J.

Yelp
The customer service at this location is great! I don't know if they forgot to flavor the original chicken tenders or what? The tenders had absolutely no taste. The mashed potatoes were Luke warm. :( Unfortunately, I won't waste my money again. if I'm craving chicken I will go to KFC or Chick-fil-A.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
I was hungry for some fried chicken, since it's one of those things I won't make at home, and since my appointment was right around the corner, I thought I would give Ezells a try. I ordered the 2piece lunch special with one side and an Orange Crush to wash it down with. I ordered a breast and a thigh, I got a breast and a hacked up partial breast and breaded bones. I was hoping for some tasty chicken- I got dry, overcooked tasteless chicken. I expected tasty mash potatoes- I got potatoes that tasted like the peel was still on, and unwashed, with flat, tasteless gravy. I expected butter and jam with my roll, got none. The best thing about that meal was the soda. Pathetic. Never going back, they have nothing on KFC. $13.62 wasted on an inedible meal, and I still had to find food to fill my stomach.

Yelp
Was in the mood for fried chicken and decided to stop at Ezells. Walking in there was a line of about 4 people in front of me. But the line moved extremely fast. The girl in the front was courteous and very well spoken. I ordered the 3 piece dinner I got mixed meat with both spicy and regular breading. I got the Mac and. Cheese with the potato salad. The chicken was crunchy and juicy. Both the white and the dark meat were cooked just right. The spicy breading has a lot more flavor than the regular which was not my favorite. The sides are a bit on the bland side. The Mac and cheese seemed like it was really old, it was creamy but not in a appetizing way more of a mushy consistency. The potato salad had little to no texture, but good flavor. The restaurant was clean and it is fast food so it's not supposed to be perfect. But why I have them 4 stars was due to service and the speed my order came out. I was in and out in about 8 minutes. So to me that's important. Either way if you see a Ezelles and want some fried chicken give it a try.
google avatar

Christine K.

Yelp
I ordered the 3 piece spicy chicken with a roll, mashed potatoes with gravy and the mac and cheese. Also ordered the peach cobbler. The mashed potatoes and gravy were lacking in flavor, no distinguishable taste and it was sorely in need of pepper or something in the gravy. The drumstick was nice and juicy and the spice was just right. But the white meat was dry, overcooked and devoid of any spices. Needless to say I didn't bother to eat the third piece. The macaroni and cheese had no distinguishable taste. I only ate three small bites before I gave up on it. The roll was great and the peach cobbler was divine but after paying well over twenty dollars for a meal I barely ate I will not be coming back to Ezell's again.

Yelp
***UPDATED 12/18 Been going a lot lately. I'm obviously hooked like a junkie even with high prices. The chicken hasn't been dry but I haven't ordered the bone in either. I'm definitely happier than in the past even tho they probably haven't changed shit, I'm just slightly bi-polar. I bumped em up to 5* because obviously I'm still paying the price because the crack isn't that wack. ***** Well I'm giving them a solid 4... well ok maybe more like 3.875. So far out of about 6 visits I have been impressed with the taste of the chicken 4 times. The bad times were pretty F'n bad tho. If it wasn't for having good past experience I would have asked for my money back. Last night in particular we came in 11-16-18 (only reason I'm mentioning the date was maybe it was the staff that night in particular) was bad. I posted a picture. It's hard for me to eat chicken anywhere anymore. I swear it just tastes like rubber. So when I found this place, My mouth actually watered for it the next few times. Somehow this place managed to get chicken that didn't mate with tires. When it's not dried out to dogfuckery that is!! Don't get the Breast bone-in, it's like what I imagine a carpet tasted like, if I ate carpet, which I don't so it would be nice if my daughter didn't have to in her kids mea Oh and better plan on spending a pretty penny for a couple slices of dried out over breaded chicken. I recommend the buffalo version, but damn that shit is spicy and they don't have a milder option. But they don't sell a meal with those so you can easily walk out spending over $20 on one person for what is actually fast food. They are clean and I appreciate that more than you know! Ooooooh and it's not greasy!! Thank you for that! The staff has always been friendly and helpful but there really isn't shit for options on the menus and everything is way over priced!! I'll be back I'm sure but if I have even one more encounter like the past couple, it will be a long time before I do. Lower your fucking prices, bitch please... you're not that finger lickin good!!
google avatar

Yelp
They have decent chicken, nothin spectacular. The reason why I give one star is because their customer service is horrible. They treat you like you are stealing the chicken and definitely like they don't want you to ever come back. They do not care! Now grant it i''m sure there are good employees, but I have not been helped by any of them. They never have sides. They are always saying we don't have this or that. Like you have to take whatever they have because you can not choose. People are extremely rude and I've tried at least 3 or 4 times and every time is more disappointing than the last one. Please, do not go to this place unless you want to be treated very poorly.

Yelp
I miss the old Ezelle's service and food. Maybe Covid is the reason?? Or just this location?

Yelp
This is the best Ezell's I have been to, I know, 5 stars for a fried chicken chain my look way too much, but they deserve it. Let's start with their awesome service, cleanness, delicious chicken, easy parking, neat bathroom, and more. A friend and I went to close by Silver Platters to buy a DVD of Incognito 35th Anniversary concert, and were too hungry to drive back to Seattle during peak traffic hours without getting something to eat first, looking on Yelp, we found Ezell's just a block away. I've been to other Ezell's locations and none have been worth stopping by, it was a very pleasant surprise when we got in, and out order was taken right away by a very friendly young lady that went out of her way to make sure we were taken care of, she help us find a nice table, food came out a couple of minutes later and was delivered to out table, the chicken was yummy, perfectly crispy on the outside, flavorful and moist on the inside, can't ask for more. I have eaten at high end restaurants that their chicken is not even half as good.

Yelp
I ordered 24 pieces half &half combo deal for my contractor and his team for lunch. Stopped by the Lynnwood store on my way to my house. It was around 11:00 still early. Put in my order and young lady took my order was very pleasant and right on it. She explain to me I will have to wait few mins longer in order to have 24 pieces which I understand. I didn't waited too long and my order was put together while she tended to other customers expertly and pleasant. The chicken was still hot and crispy when I got to my Edmonds house. All 5 workers throughly enjoyed the meal. Ezells rolls, mashed potatoes and gravy with fried chicken is the best combo I've ever had! The chicken pieces are bigger and so juicy and yet still crispy skin! It's so delicious and so fresh tasting. It is not overly salted. It's just perfect every morsel! Thank you

Yelp
Good food, efficient service, convenient location. Spicy tender is my go to. I like the bread that comes with the meal, and the sides you can add on. It can get busy at times, I always call to place my orders 10 mins in advance for a speedy pick up.

Yelp
I've been loving Ezell's fried chicken, gizzards, sides and basically everything that's on the menu. Today I decided to try the buffalo chicken tenders. We ordered online and picked it up right away within the estimated pickup time and despite the drive being ~5 minutes away, my buffalo chicken tenders were cold. I know food hardly ever looks like anything like the pictures on the websites, but the first impression I got when I opened the box was that it looked very unappetizing and soggy. There wasn't enough buffalo sauce that covered the tenders and they just looked like regular chicken tenders that were orange. When I got to taste it, it was cold and the batter was really soggy. It just tasted like they were sitting there soaking up all the sauce for a couple hours until they got packed into my order. I probably would not get the tenders again... Everything else was really good though.

Yelp
I get the occasional fried chicken craving and I immediately thought to stop by this location of Ezell's since it was close by! The place is kept pretty clean with a decent amount of seating. And they have a reasonable sized parking lot. The service is also very fast, and the people we worked with were super kind and helpful! As for the food, however, I was honestly slightly disappointed. For the hype of this place, I imagined it to be more flavorful and satisfying. I had the original fried chicken and my boyfriend (who LOVES their baked roll, which comes with the meal) had the spicy ones. We also had the mashed potato and potato salad sides because we ordered a combo meal. The potato salad was pretty sour and hard to eat, and the mashed potatoes were good but nothing special -same goes for the chicken. My mom also asked me to order some chicken livers (extra crispy), which my boyfriend and her enjoyed. Overall, it wasn't so bad of an experience. But I'm not sure if their food met up to my expectations, especially due to the hype and for the price.

Yelp
The only bad thing about Ezell's is the price for chicken. The spicy fried chicken is oh so good. When they do it right, the outside of the chicken has a really nice crunch, and the chicken inside is as juicy can be. I love their chicken, but it's so expensive is it really worth it? I can get 8 pieces of not as good fried chicken at Safeway for $5.50 on Mondays. You be the judge. The other thing that is really good is the bread they give you. It's like a sweet dinner roll that you can make little chicken sandwiches with. Or just slap some butter on it and dip it in honey. Or did what I just did last night; cut it in half and put some ice cream in the middle. The restaurant itself is like dining at a family owned business. The staff didn't smile or really do anything to stand out other than take my order and give me my food. I give Ezell's four stars really only because of the really really good and overpriced fried chicken.
