F1 Arcade Philadelphia - Review - Midtown Village - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"A  glowing bar, neon lights, and countless people pretending to be Lewis Hamilton. That’s what you can expect at F1 Arcade Bar inMidtown Village. The massive, sleek arcade has one game—racecar simulators for every skill level, plus drinks with names like Welcome to Miami and Victory Lap. There are multiple sections for group seating and tons of TVs, making it a useful place to celebrate a boozy birthday or bump your manager into last place while watching a game. Take a pit stop for the crispy crab fitters and sweet sausage flatbread, and relish in the fact that the PPA can’t ticket you here." - Candis R. McLean

Decent racing with good food and drinks. Simulator experience: Sessions are short at 8 mins each. 5 sessions is a perfect amount if you do them back to back. Tracks are randomized which is fine if you have track knowledge but combined with the short sessions, it can be hard to get into a good groove. The AI is too slow to be challenging in solo mode. Force feedback through the steering wheel feels weak but this is made up for by the motion and great pedal feel. Would definitely recommend bringing friends for a better racing experience as there is no matchmaking system offered to solo drivers. Food: This place could be a successful standalone restaurant with the quality of food they serve. Had the Italian Sausage flatbread and Wagyu burger and both items were good! Drinks: Lots of cocktail options with some offering a high level of showmanship while preparing.

Stephanie greeted us at the door and she helped us with getting situated with the arcade portion of our experience. Upon seating, we were seated for about 10 minutes before receiving service (there was a big party that came in before us) but Jay and Chanel were very helpful with getting us taken care of. Brandon was our server and he was very personable. We ordered the dynamite fried chicken and the old bay fries. Both were delicious! I do wish they had wings though. Amazing customer service all in all.

Google
Brigette was simply delightful. What a wonderful experience - so much due to Brigette’s friendliness and exceptional service. The racing was amazing. Food delicious - with perfect portions. Drinks were yummy.

The F1 Decor is on point, highly stylized to invigorate any F1 Fan new or old. The F1 Arcade is built for groups of 6-8 who want delicious cocktails, brews, and bites. My buddy and I wanted to we're there for all out simracing head-2-head and that's what we got. I suggest the 5 race package (45min) to get your money's worth. Absolutely a blast!

Google
This was my first time going to F1- arcade. I thought the food was pretty good considering it’s bar food. The drinks were good as well. I was shocked that there was a Happy Hour on a Saturday. So that was a plus! I’d say this place is really fun if you’re going with a group. We did a cousins night with about 7-8 people and it made it fun to compete. Parking was cool using Park mobile.

Google

Google
First time at the F1 Arcade in Philly and had an amazing experience, since the moment we arrived to the moment we left. Vibe is amazing, drinks spectacular and the food, even though we only had appetizers, were on another level. Bartenders Alejandro and Mike greeted us and treated us like family. Will definitely be back! 🌟

Edit: due to a computer glitch, which told us we could get in at 8 AM, we got to go arcade three hours early. They did not let us in until an hour before, But they were so hospitable and apologetic, they even upgraded our seats. Cheers to them. For doing the right thing. Customer service is fantastic. Thank you, Bethany for your help. I love the bar. The one in England was way better, though. They had their stuff together. I know this one was only open a few weeks before we got there. But they made you actually leave the building and get back in line to come back in.They need to work on their efficiency. Otherwise, the staff were fairly friendly.

Yelp
Wow! Absolutely love it here. I'm a huge F1 fan so it was great to find a place, not only to watch the race with other fans, but to actually drive the track on the simulators as well. The food was way better than you'd expect at an arcade and the cocktails were fancy. Like smoke machines and graphics on your drink fancy. Can't wait for the Las Vegas Grand Prix watch party!

Matthew S.

Yelp
Fun atmosphere and excellent service. Food was very good and the racing was so much fun!

Yelp
great staff, great food, and fun times for everyone! Highly recommend having events here, their briefing room is on point

Yelp
Simply put, the F1 Arcade is a state of the art establishment in Philadelphia. I was very impressed with my entire experience. Our party of 3 visited for the Monza race last Sunday with pre-purchased General Admission tickets for the Watch Party. At 8:00 AM, (for a 9 AM race) there were already other F1 fans lined up outside. General Admission does not guarantee you a seat but you have the option of sitting anywhere you'd like. It's not a secluded area by any means, so this is the cheaper option. When we first walked in, we were given free mini cannolis. One of the employees had a plastic ring around her waist serving the cannolis. It was nice of them to allow us to take however many we wanted. We selected a table towards the back and our waitress, Katie, came over to introduce herself. We didn't need to be tended to much, but I will agree with other reviewers that the service is a little on the slow side. It wasn't an issue for us as we were completely immersed in the race most of the morning. For my brunch entree, I ordered the Avocado Tostada. The avocado was flavorful and fresh and the tostada was crunchy. It was like eating a hard shell taco with just avocado inside. I ordered a flat white to drink and it was perfect. You're unable to reserve simulators but luckily there were plenty available. They have them on a specific gaming mode for the entirety of the Watch Party. Before the race started, the announcer, Lee, came around to ask everyone F1 trivia questions. It was fun, engaging and got everyone amped up. I won a free drink ticket that was redeemable for an Aperol Spritz. Aperol Spritz reps were there promoting their product and handing out FREE tanks, bandanas and cross body bags. It was giveaways galore! The arcade is walkable from public transportation. We got lucky and found parking right out front with the meters. Bathrooms were squeaky clean and gorgeous. The staff makes it feel as upscale as it would be if you were attending an actual F1 race. Stunning venue. I loved it and can't wait to return!

Yelp
Pros: This place is very modern and has a sleek racing theme throughout the interior. Very well curated and decorated to meet an "upscale" F1 theme. Definitely cool looking. Cannot comment on the food because we stopped here before having dinner somewhere else. However, all the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout the place. Cons: Booked our reservations in advance, then our friends wanted to join in and booked theirs too later on. Unfortunately, there was no way for the staff to combine our reservations and let us all play together. You book a group of races that are played back to back. You cannot select what team you drive for, nor can you select the track, which we did not like. You have to play each race immediately and consecutively, and we wished there was an option to take it slower and scan a card or something to prompt the next race at our own pace, like an arcade. On the last race, our screens continued to play the guidelines and looped for about 8 minutes while our friends raced next to us before we asked for help. They had to reset it and we ended up having to race a course we already did previously because there was no way for them to select the last one for us. Overall this was a disappointing experience due to the lack of technical accommodations the staff could make. It was cool-looking but outside of that was not worth the money to me.

Yelp
This place was definitely different! Went for a friend's husbands birthday so it was really cool that we were able to get a separate space for our group where we can just play games however much we'd like. The food was really tasty; they had these mini taco things that were delicious. Their servers were super attentive which I enjoyed. Rarely had a glass empty. The actual racing is fairly intense and definitely can pull competitiveness out of anyone Be warned - you can definitely get motion sickness from this!! What's tough is that it's very easy to get bored of the racing after about 30 minutes of hanging there. So definitely would say it's a good spot to check out with your pals for something silly but maybe not to have that be your whole afternoon or evening

Yelp
Really really enjoyed this. Atmosphere is nice and light, a true step above old time arcades
google avatar

Christine C.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time at this place! it was a good atmosphere, and great service. Just got drinks, so maybe next time we will try the food, as I heard it was good. It's a unique place and very aesthetic inside. Fun games, but mainly just a great place to hang out with friends and try something new in the city!
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
Went there for the soft opening, not gonna lie, it was a bit chaotic with the seating and gaming setup, so hopefully they iron that out. The interior's got that industrial vibe--exposed pipes, brick walls, concrete, minimalist furniture, neon lights......the whole aesthetic. The food and drink menu is pretty solid and more extensive than I expected. There's even a fancy drink that lights up which was a fun touch. Food quality was good, but definitely on the pricier side. The game itself was a little confusing at first, but we got the hang of it after the first round. We did the team racing mode (4 people+) and the screen basically walks you through everything with instructions. We managed to get in about 4 games each. Honestly, it was more fun than I expected, the chairs move and vibrate with your driving, which makes it super immersive. I'm not really an F1 fan, so I can't speak much to the details of the race car models, but if you are, you'll probably appreciate that even more.

Yelp
I am a fan of all things truck and auto, so this was on my list. Glad I checked it out- it is obviously a more high end version of an arcade. Very modern simulation stuff as advertised, which comes with a high price tag. Be careful coming into this, the cost is not like a quarter arcade! Their menu is good, the drink list is funny with a designated driver non alcoholic section (who polices simulated driving in the matrix?). I would say this is a repeat spot but the cost for the games takes it down a notch. Fun with a crowd for sure however.
google avatar

Reena D.

Yelp
Good time! Highly recommend! I'm giving this 4 stars because I didn't try the food, but it looks good, and they run through instructions quickly, so ask questions. The space is beautiful for a simulation arcade. Clean, classy, but casual. And the ladies room is clean and has several stalls with walls to the floor. The drinks were very good, including a "designated driver" section with non-alcoholic options. The bar will carry your tab over to your table when you're driving. Server was great. This is not a regular arcade. You should reserve your group & time. You register online so if you don't have a linked email profile pic you want to use or their default helmet avatar, have a pic ready. It doesn't look like I can see my performance rating on this site though. Don't like that. You can also collect some virtual coins for future use. We were a group of 5 so 2 teams. I haven't played a racing game in years. First round, I forgot to choose my level and started on whatever the default is, semi-pro i think. Came in last. Then I switched to Rookie and did much better. I used to love the racing games when I was younger, and by younger I mean 8-36, 36 being the last time I remember being in the arcade. By the 2nd round, when I wasn't struggling so much, it felt so good to race again :-D I had a really good time. Prices were reasonable for the city. This would be a great outing with friends!

Yelp
Went here for a bday party on a Saturday Evening. We had reservations. Checked in early and told us to hang out until the exact time. We were just hanging out in the front tables but they just happened to sit us there. The driving experience was fun. It was about 3 minutes each run and you can choose which difficulty level to drive (I recommend the middle difficulty or lower). The food was pretty good. Pizzas, burger, fries long hots and potatoes were on point. The drinks were good too. The only bad thing is that the service was slow even when it wasn't busy. Also the ceiling was leaking and dripping down on our section. It was hot af too as my whole party was sweating our ass off. I would go again during an early time. Prices on the food and drinks were reasonable.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Went on a weekday so had no wait time. Didnt get a chance to eat food, but I know there was table service. I don't think it's possible to eat and play or really drink and play. Playing is absolutely a 2 hand job. So my suggestion would be drink/eat before or after. Bartenders were pretty slow for them not being very busy, but I know first month of opening sometimes people are still in training. Very modern vibes will be back to try some food!

Greg P.

Yelp
Great time! Fun atmosphere and excellent service. Enjoyed the food and drinks, and we had a blast with the racing sims!
google avatar

Lucy L.

Yelp
They could have leaned into the theme a bit more in my opinion. The only f1 themed things other than the sims were a couple tracks painted on the walls. They have giant TVs and they were playing soccer. We were there the day of the Austrian GP. The GP started at 9am and we were there at 1pm. I get the race was over but they could have at least played an old F1 race. The food was ok the drinks were cute. The servers were nice. It was overall a mid experience.
google avatar

Angela D.

Yelp
Our group of 3 had to wait 1 hour even though there were tons of open seats on the simulators: I think it was a ploy to get us to order drinks and food. We did have a drink each and my margarita was actually kind of gross: I had a much better one next door at Barcade. My husband had a pretty good old fashioned drink. I was underwhelmed by the race experience and thought $40 for 45 minutes of game time was little steep. The two guys in the group really enjoyed themselves though; I would have been happier with a Mario Cart race, but that's not the whole F1 experience. It's a cool looking bar but I don't think I need to do it again. I would LOVE to buy one of the staff jackets though: they should have a gift shop for sure!
google avatar

Toni C.

Yelp
Drinks and food were much better than expected who knew an arcade could give such great food and beverage options. Our server was very attentive, always was present and even asked us our investment in the Sport. Great ambiance to watch F1 for the Grand Prix.

Noel B.

Yelp
Super fun! My wife and I had so much fun! We just wished it was longer! My wife and I contemplated on getting another reservation the same day. The food was OK as well. It was a bit of chaos as we went one of the first days of opening, but that's to be expected. If you're looking for a fun night out, this is the place. They have great drinks, food, and entertainment. We are definitely coming back again soon.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
We visited just for the arcade experience - no food or drink. It's cheaper to go earlier in the day and I'd very much suggest that bits pretty expensive for what it is. I will say I bought 3 races and they gave me 5 but still $$$. The game is fun and competitive but it's not that much different than going to any other arcade with a driving game. Fun once but we wouldn't do it again. This was a mom and 12year old kid date.
google avatar

Karlee B.

Yelp
We were able to get machines immediately as walk ins. The girls working the front desk were super helpful and took us back to the machines and showed us how they worked. The games worked great. No tech issues and they were super fun. I'm not into F1 at all and had a great time. Super impressed with the set up. We grabbed a couple drinks at the bar after and the drinks seemed over the top for the set up, but not necissarily a bad thing. Food menu looked like a great option too. Great spot for a first date!

Yelp
New location for good vibes in the heart of Center City. Great welcome staff and phenomenal waitress & race host. Strong recommend for a good time.

Yelp
Super cool environment and the racing simulators are so much fun. Food is great and Stephanie the manager is phenomenal

Yelp
Pulled brisket tacos are awesome, attentive staff. Racing really fun, would visit again.

Yelp
We booked 3 weeks in advanced for a party of 11. Paying for the Starting Lap Package which included a Menu of 7 different appetizers, along with water and fountain beverages. (Side note: we were there celebrating a birthday). Our booked times started at 7pm-9pm, for which we all begin to arrive between 6:45p-7:10pm. The package included a "private section" which meant we had 3 Racing Games and 2 tables that fit 6 people with the 2nd table was set up as a buffet to accommodate our food. As our Party was settling in we notice that it was only set up to fit 6 of us we had to request additional chairs, additional glasses for water (because they only had about 4 on the table with the water pitchers). The pitchers were really small so we ran out of water after pouring 3 glasses, was supposed to get pitchers for our fountain soda that came with our package but we were told they were out of pitchers. The Staff seemed all over the place, one Man who worked there came up to our table asking if the 3 games in our so called private section was ours even though we were sitting in the section. Moving on to the food, we all came fairly hungry because again this was something we booked weeks in advance when we settled in and got the drinks, chairs and table settings for everyone together the food begin to come out BUT it came out 1 at time. We added to our package 4 orders of french fries, their plain fries, sweet pot., truffle and o bay to share the fries literally came out within 5min but they came out 1 at a time as well. We were super shocked how small the order of fries were. So small we ended up order another round and as our fries came of course we were devouring them because nothing was coming out ok groups. We for guacamole with chips we ate them as soon as they were out, 10-15minutes later they brought chicken fingers, 10-15min later they brought salads and at this point it's after 8pm and we still have yet to receive the main appetizers/buffet set up we have to do get the Manager who offered a discount/refund and paid for the fries that we ordered that held us over for the food. He also went back to expedite the rest of our food by 8:20p is when they started bringing the food for the buffet which included pizzas, flat bread appetizers, and sliders. We never receive the tacos (it might been nacho's) but we've noticed they brought out extra pizzas which I guess they did that to replace an item they didn't have and never told us. It's now almost 9pm and a lot of us paid for 2hr parking most of the food still was touched we asked for takeout containers for which we were told we weren't allowed to take the food
google avatar

Yelp
Fun group activity. Appetizers were ok but not special. Good drinks but typical pricey downtown cost. I would say the sim driving is cool but doesn't really correlate to driver ability.

Rachael G.

Yelp
Drinks were very good. I loved the ambiance a lot! Margarita Flatbread was just ok. A lot of sauce and not nearly enough cheese at all. The races look professional and fun. Service was good but slow.
google avatar

Yelp
Staff is kind and games are fun and easy to understand. I'm giving this 4 stars because you can't customize controls as much as other games but if you're looking for a fun beginner type experience it's perfectly fine!
google avatar

Ally T.

Yelp
absolutely appalled at the service I received yesterday. after eating and drinking here, and spending a good chunk of money on that alone, my party decided to race. the racing was a minimum of three races, and I paid for three seats. it cost NINTY DOLLARS. for about 30 minutes of activity. that alone was disgusting, but when we sat down, one of the three races wouldn't work. the car wouldn't drive any direction except back wards no matter what buttons we pressed for all three races. when I asked for help the workers just shrugged and said it was user error and made no effort to refund me for the fact that it was unusable and I paid $30 to use it. do not recommend.
google avatar

Shawn C.

Yelp
won't accept 29 dollars worth of paid reservations. One honor TikTok discount code they said their system is not working, but why take the reservation if the intention of honoring it? They can easily stop taking reservations online and ask people to walk in. Sounds like Scam to me front desk also not helpful and has the resting b face. The manager was OK to explain but still not enough.

Janell R.

Yelp
I had a really disappointing and upsetting experience at F1 Arcade during a staff outing with my organization. Most of our team was doing the racing games, but my co-worker and I weren't playing--we were just sitting in a booth talking. Everyone had their belongings spread across the other booths on thrbdame row as us, and people were moving between standing and sitting. We had just finished having lunch elsewhere and did not want to order anything. The server approached us, and I asked if we needed to purchase something in order to sit there. He told me yes, with a sassy expression on his face; this turned out to be completely false. I later spoke with a manager and was told there's no such policy. So I was pressured into ordering something I didn't even want, based on a lie. To make matters worse, I had clearly told the server that I don't drink. I know he heard me because he even recommended their overpriced mocktails. I asked for a ginger beer--a common non-alcoholic option--and was served a drink with Bombay gin in it. I took one sip before realizing and immediately pushed it away. When I let the server know, he was rude and dismissive instead of apologetic. It got to the point that I hated to see him coming because no interaction with him was straightforward. Reece was more interested in being sassy thank direct and courteous This whole experience felt disrespectful, dishonest, and careless. If someone says they don't drink, serving them alcohol is not just a mistake--it's dangerous and malicious! I've been 29 months sober. I will absolutely not be returning, and I'd advise others to be cautious. When I made him aware he said "why would you pay 20 dollars for a ginger beer? I was appalled. As someone who had worked in the service industry for decades, I would never talk to someone like that. And duh, I obviously didn't know I was getting gin instead of ginger beer. I asked for a receipt to verify my refund and he brought me a receipt foe the ginger beer instead. I looked at it and realized he had given himself a more than 50% tip! This guy was being a complete weirdo. If you go there, avoid him! I finally reached peak frustration and went to talk to a manager. He helped sort the refund/receipt business and correct the exorbitant tip bit by that point the annoyance was deeply seated and the damage was done.

Julie S.

Yelp
Cool experience driving!! Wasn't the most welcoming. We got there 10 mins before our start time and they wouldn't check us in. No prob. We went to the bathroom and stood around looking at the menu but to get a drink was crazy expensive. The place was 75% empty. When we went back to the front we had to get in line and wait until about 10 mins after our reservation time. Then they placed us right with another group. I asked to be moved because I didn't want to be mixed with another group. That took another 10 mins despite the place still being so empty. Once we finally got in our seats we had a lot of fun! So if you can get past all the nonsense and get to drive it's a lot of fun!

Kyle M.

Yelp
They sign us up for a 4 person session. They don't say anything about it. Wait an hour to find out we can only race 2 at a time. Still had to pay the $120. Like come on

Julian M.

Yelp
Overall great experience, but the only thing that I noticed was the races are back to back with no breaks in between. Overall great time but just walked in and walked out after our races and was only greeted by one server once throughout the 45 minutes of being there.

Imoona G.

Yelp
Nice ambiance but the servers are not attentive and seem as though they actively ignore your call for assistance even after eye contact and a hand up. If it wasn't for the server Andrew, we'd have been unattended to. Good Job Andrew!

Kenneth G.

Yelp
The owners need to hire competent bar tenders. 15 minutes to make 2 cocktails isn't good service. Our cocktails were also measured incorrectly and our small glasses were only 2/3 full when served with ice. Fix the poor service behind the bar and I'll return.

Jeremy O.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying the staff was very nice and efficient. But, overall not a great experience. Each table smelled like piss and I thought maybe it was the wash rag. The staff explained that their cleaning products do stink. For 4 cocktails the total was around 80 dollars before tip. They didn't have pitchers that they claimed to have on the menu that could have saved me some money. No boxes to take home food and I was suggested to use a napkin to wrap tacos back home. The game it self glitched so they kindly moved us, but that machine's brakes did not work. Not worth the experience and I think they opened too soon before being prepared.

Sammy H.

Yelp
First off, I had so much fun playing the games however I want to warn people to not book pre-order food or drink options on the website when you reserve. It is not worth it in my opinion. When I booked my visit, I selected the option for Prosecco at arrival and paid $30 extra for this feature. When I arrived, they brought us to the seats and we didn't see the prosecco until the end of our 45 minute session. Most of my time was spent tracking down a server or hostess to ask about where my prosecco was. First I spoke to a hostess who told me a waiter would come over to me- 2 games go by no one comes over. Then I spoke to a manager (I assume) and she said she would send someone over- 2 more games go by before I track down a server and ask for someone to take our order. We are 30 minutes in at this point. When we finally get a server they tell me that they don't have visibility to what we book one the website. The manager very nicely gave us 2 more glasses of prosecco which was nice, but they arrived at the end of our session and we were already planning on leaving. I don't blame the server, other than neglecting us for 45 minutes, but it seems like there are no clear sections. I would say take all pre-ordered drink options off the website if you do not have the staff or capability to honor them.

Reginald S.

Yelp
My family and I showed up with a party of 14. Four of those us was elderly and we went into the place because our reservation was at 3pm. Once got in the building after everything was paid for they told us we had to wait outside and wouldn't allow my African American father to sit in until are time was ready. After the disrespect, we decided to leave and once we try to get a refund, they told us that our refund wouldn't be processed until 3-5 business days. This has been y worst Father's Day and restaurant experience thus far!

Amanda M.

Yelp
The line to get in was long and slow, even with a reservation. We couldn't hear the employee who led us to the simulator as she was giving us instructions because it was so loud in there. It was also uncomfortably warm inside. The races were short and the simulation was unimpressive. You could get the same experience at any other arcade. We sat down to eat (after confirming with an employee that we can just sit anywhere and a waiter would come to us) and waited at least 15 min for someone to come over to us. While we waited, we scanned the QR code that was on the table to order food, which did not work. When our waiter came over, we mentioned that we had a prepaid liquor package. Our waiter did not know what our package was or what it included. She walked away multiple times while taking our order because she couldn't answer our questions and each time it took 10-15+ min for someone to come over, either her or a manager. Then we found out that the package we had prepaid for only included drinks $13 and under (which was not specified on the website when the package was purchased) and none of the mixed drinks were under $13. Apparently they had had some drinks under $13 but they got rid of them yesterday. The bar manager came over and we explained this all to him, and the best he could offer was one mixed drink. Fine. We wait for another 15+ min and he brings us the wrong drink. Have to track him down to tell him he brought us the wrong one. This whole time, our server did not come back over to us, but she was helping tables very close to us and could see us. Finally while waiting for the correct drink, she comes back over and asks if we're waiting on something, we tell her a drink. She leaves and comes back and we have to explain that we ordered directly with the bar manager, so I guess it wasn't in the system. At last, we get the correct drink. We would've gotten food, but between no one asking us if we wanted anything and every interaction being 15+ min apart, we decided it wasn't worth it. We would've left much earlier had we not prepaid for the drinks. We definitely will not be back and will not recommend it to anyone.
