Faarzi Nepal - Review - Elmhurst - New York - The Infatuation

"In Elmhurst, Faarzi is a Nepali restaurant. They’ve got things like momos and dal bhat, and buffalo meat in a fancy-looking space with lots of gold trim and dark wood fixtures. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Will Hartman

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had stepped into a warm, welcoming corner of the Himalayas. The vibe is cozy and inviting, with beautiful decor, soft lighting, and traditional Nepali touches that make the space feel super special. Huge shoutout to the bartender dai, seriously one of the best I’ve come across. The drinks were not only delicious but had so much personality. You can tell there’s real care and creativity behind every cocktail. What really stuck with me, though, was how comfortable and at home I felt here. It’s the kind of place you want to come back to not just for the food and drinks, but for the overall experience. Definitely a new favorite.

A charming, low-key restaurant tucked away in Elmhurst. I visited with a friend who remarked that the dishes were very reminiscent of home in Nepal—authentic, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care. The restaurant itself has a unique and heartfelt ambiance, showing great dedication to Nepalese culture. We were seated in the stage area, which offers traditional floor seating. While it adds to the homey feel, it can be a bit cramped and uncomfortable, especially for longer meals. I’d recommend reserving a table or opting for bar seating if you’re dining with a companion. There was also live music during our visit where we got free popcorn, which added a lively and welcoming touch. Overall, the experience was memorable and the food was excellent.

Went there for the first time and was really impressed with the interior design of the restaurant. Kinda excessive, tbh but it creates an interesting atmosphere. It is pretty obvious that much thought, work, and money was put into the presentation of the restaurant and food. No other Nepali restaurant like Faarzi, for sure. So definitely worth the visit for that reason. Service was pretty great. They had live singing performance (particular nights most likely). The jhol for the momo was so flavorful! It is served cool, so it’d be perfect if the momos were brought in piping hot. The buff chowmein was really good too (super spicy). The food is definitely on the super spicier side and pretty salty (kinda common for Nepali food). So let the waiter know if you need adjustments). The only thing I’d say is that some items on the menu had pricing that was, quite surprisingly, pretty high. With drinks, the bill will easily come out to min $50/pp) I think presentation of the meals is cool but they can’t lose focus on creating good-tasting, delicious food. The paani puri definitely needs extra work, please! Anyways, kudos 🙏 to the brothers for creating a Nepal outside of Nepal. Glad to have an establishment that we can enjoy and bring our friends and families to. 👏👏👏

Absolutely Stunning Restaurant! This place is truly a gem in the neighborhood I've called home for 18 years. I'm thrilled it's within walking distance! The food is incredible, but what stands out most for me is the beautiful presentation. Presentation is so important to me--it's even more exciting than the food itself! From the Buff Choila served in a smoky covered pot to the Chicken Momo, everything was perfection. We even got complimentary popcorn served in a charming Nepali Dalo, which added such a cute and authentic touch. The service was top-notch. A special shoutout to the warm and welcoming bartender, ~ Ishowr Gautam ~who made the experience even better with his professionalism and hospitality. Plus point is live Decent music after 8 pm is relaxing !! I can't wait to come back for more! Homey atmosphere.

What a hidden gem! On the recommendation of a lovely lady (where we get our nails done), we ended up here – and what a delightful surprise it was. I visited with my daughter and we had a truly different experience: a warm welcome, stunning Nepalese decor, and the feeling of being transported on a little trip right in the heart of New York. The food was absolutely delicious! We shared a starter, main, and dessert – all for under $64. Incredibly tasty and super affordable. A unique spot we’ll happily return to again and again. Highly recommended!

Stumbled upon this place looking for a late night bite. Immediately impressed with the welcoming wait staff and fun atmosphere. Food was amazing and there were plenty of vegan options. This spot definitely needs to be on your radar if you’re in Queens.

Google
Incredible food and superb service. Spicy and delicious dishes and you can tell the staff are happy and proud of their culture and preparations. We had a mix of mono , along with a noodle and rice dish. All well plated, filling and full of flavor. Definitely will return.

I visited Farzi recently and had a mixed experience. The momos were tasty, with a nice filling, but they were smaller than expected, leaving me wanting more. The buff chowmein was the highlight—flavorful and perfectly cooked, easily the best dish of the night. The panipuri had a great presentation, colorful and inviting, which added to the experience. However, the thali was a letdown; it came with just three tiny pieces of meat, which felt stingy for the price. The Masu jindabad platter was a hit. Service was friendly, but the waiter seemed distracted and could’ve been more attentive to our needs. On a high note, the live music was fantastic—10/10, it really brought the place to life. The cocktails were top-notch, well-crafted, and a definite standout. The decor was another win; it felt like stepping into Nepal with vibrant colors and authentic touches. Overall, it’s a place with great potential, but the food portions and service need some work. I’d give it a 3 out of 5.

Yelp
Stopped by Faarzi for drinks and was seriously impressed! I didn't try the food this time, but it looked amazing beautifully presented and definitely something I'll be back for soon. I had a glass of Merlot and Pinot Noir, and both were absolutely fantastic smooth, flavorful, and perfectly served. The atmosphere at Faarzi is stylish yet comfortable, making it a great spot to unwind. Service was great, and the overall vibe of the place was just right. Can't wait to return and dive into the food menu. A wonderful spot in Queens highly recommend for drinks and more!

Yelp
Similar to Kathamandap, Faarzi is one of the higher-end Nepalese establishments in Queens with a full bar menu. It's located on a very quiet Elmhurst intersection with decor somewhere between a nightclub and a mandir - it feels like the kind of mysterious place you might return to in the morning only to find out that it's never existed. The best thing on the menu is the homemade achaar. They served some sort of mooli achaar on the bara plate, which we could not get enough of. The bara itself was fairly neutral in flavor, and the aloo sabzi was paired with strong fermented beans that I haven't acquired the taste for yet. We tried both the plain steamed veg momos as well as the jhol momo. The dumpling filling was very good, but I found the jhol broth a little light - the dumplings also could have been served hotter.

Yelp
If you're craving authentic Nepali flavors, this restaurant is a hidden gem you need to experience! We tried momo, chowmein, chatpate, stick platter, and chicken wings. Each dish packed with bold Nepali spices and cooked to perfection. The flavors instantly took us back home, and the presentation was both vibrant and mouthwatering. On top of that, the cocktails were next-level creative and delicious! Chiya Bari Ma had the perfect chiya-infused twist, Lyase Paun brought that tangy punch, Bhagote Sadheko was a spicy surprise, and Aapey Margarita gave a fruity, refreshing Nepali spin to a classic. Each one was thoughtfully crafted and added to the unique vibe of the place. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was genuinely impressive, attentive, friendly, and full of heart. A big shoutout to Bipul Dai and team for creating a space that not only serves amazing food but also captures the true spirit of Nepal.

Yelp
Delicious high end Nepali cuisine at reasonable prices. We visited during happy hour, which offered some great deals on the menu. We tried the buffalo momo, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the biryani, my absolute favorite it was fragrant and had just the right amount of spice. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff who made our experience even better. They also had a lovely selection of beverages that complemented our meal perfectly. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and I will definitely be coming back for more.

Yelp
Amazing restaurant! Food and service were a 10/10. I came with a party of three and wanted to watch the Knicks game. The server was super friendly and accommodating, and they even changed the channel so we could watch it. Also, the mango lassi cocktail was sooo good; definitely a must-try!

Yelp
I chose this restaurant to mark my birthday and loved it. Their dishes are remarkably good and their service always pleases. The quality of service here stands out. The kitchen creates well, the designers planned well and the servers execute well. I rate this spot at maximum excellence.

Yelp
Very special and great place. The people are extremely friendly and well-mannered. They do not offer beef but buffalo, which is special. They are a restaurant and bar together, so they open early evening and until late night, so you can get late night dinner, which is great. The best food around this area in walking distance. Definitely try this place.

Yelp
Each item on the menu delivered on its promise. Their food selection is remarkably diverse. The cost structure is fair for good food. People that work here are super nice. I plan to make this a repeat destination, perhaps often.

Yelp
Find an opportunity to go here. The service people were reliable. Their servings are plentiful and incredibly delicious. I consider this place exceptionally good. To sum up, it was a wonderful dining experience.

Yelp
Food was really good. We had a lot of dishes to share it family style: jhol momo, regular momo, meat platter, wai wai sadheko, chowmein, bara. I think the bara was the highlight of the night. The staff were so great. The cocktails were also so strong, unique and amazing. It was my friend's birthday and the staff helped us celebrate with singing and created an amazing experience for us

Yelp
On Sundays they open a little later for lunch, but we didn't mind the wait. We walked in and welcomed into a cozy place with fun decor. Everywhere there is some unique detail. We came as a large family, and they seated us at a large table with low seats. Warning, do not sit there if you have difficulty getting up and sitting low. They have other seats available. However, for my sister's three year old, she felt like these seats were just the right size! Everything here tastes amazing and they also spice to taste. We got a chaat and it was too spicy for the toddler, so they made a small cupful just for her. We got the momo sampler, which is great if you want a little of each. It comes with 5 per flavor, and we had five adults, so perfect! The noodles came with soup in a kettle, and the soup is a rich broth that was worth drinking on its own. Luckily my brother in law added bhiryani after we ordered, because that was so tasty, and I'm glad we didn't miss out on that. Def would recommend as a nice date spot in the evening as well.
