If you want to experience traditional Nepali decor, this place is a must visit, they’ve absolutely nailed the aesthetics. While it isn’t the most spacious restaurant, it’s comfortable enough. Weekends can get quite busy, so a reservation is recommended. I really enjoyed the overall vibe, immaculate interiors, friendly service, and live music that adds to the atmosphere. But as a foodie, I felt the food could’ve been better. The presentation doesn’t quite make up for the lack of depth in flavor, just my personal take. That said their cocktails are excellent and definitely worth trying. Overall, a good experience.

Nice atmosphere with good live music, which made the experience enjoyable. The momo and chowmein were tasty and definitely recommended. Unfortunately, the “Masu Jindabaad” platter was a big letdown. Although it looks good in the picture attached, the portion size was way too small for a $50 platter and not worth for the price. I would not recommend ordering this platter. Overall, good place for ambiance and select dishes, but skip the Masu Jindabaad platter.

I was very excited to see a Himalayan spot opening up on this side of Elmhurst because I felt there was a need for more diverse food anyways. The exterior is very eye-catching especially with all of the decorations and colors the owners put effort into. The interior is just wow, different colors - lots of greens, purple & brown. The seating and tables are very pretty and the lighting is perfect. I haven’t tried too much food here, but so far I have had the: Buff chow mein, Chatamari Set (Nepalese style folded pizza with spiced meats and vegetables), Kathmandu Ko Faarzi Jhoi Momo Cha (Nepalese style dumplings with flavorful fillings served with special tangy sauce) and Baudha Ko Faarzi Cheu Momo (steamed momo with flavorful juicy buttery fillings served with 2 different sauces). There’s a lot of interesting aromatics in the food and their momo’s are delicious! I can’t eat much spicy foods, so I chose the ones that were mild or not spicy. The bar menu had an assortment of drinks and cocktails. I’ve tried a few of the cocktails at Faarzi and they are on point. Overall, a pleasant experience if you’re looking for a different type of cuisine and atmosphere. The staff here are very nice & welcoming. The music is also very relaxing and when you’re here, you forget you’re even in NYC.

The food was good overall, although I’m not a huge fan of spicy food and a lot of the menu had a bit of a kick. That’s just personal taste though. We went during the NYC snowstorm and the staff were really friendly and welcoming, clearly putting in a lot of effort even when many other places were closed.

Walking into this restaurant feels like stepping into a little corner of Nepal. Sadly, the food did not match the charm of the setting. The flavors were underwhelming, and for the high prices charged, the quality felt disappointing. It left me wishing the dishes carried the same authenticity and warmth as the ambiance. Overall, the restaurant is a lovely, cozy place that captures the spirit of Nepal in its atmosphere. But if you’re seeking truly satisfying food at a fair price, the experience may fall short.

The food was really good. The live music was fun and the place looked nice, all positives there. But I had to give 1 star because they automatically added 18% gratuity for just three of us. Not sure if that’s a NYC thing, but I haven’t seen it anywhere else.

Such a great place for Nepali food. The ambience is beautiful , the drinks are amazing, and everything is presented so well. Definitely worth a visit. Ishwor dai’s drinks are honestly amazing the best I’ve had in New York City and anywhere else.

I've walked past this place a few times and was intrigued so I decided to give it a try. It has a beautiful, well decorated interior and was kept warm and cozy on a snowy day. They provide complimentary popcorn, which is well seasoned and rich with ghee. I was seated in a chair that was very low to the ground. While outfitted with comfy cushions, I was not sure what the proper was to sit on this chair was and I was too embarrassed to ask. My best guess is that it's meant to be a criss cross applesauce type situation, but I had on wet snow boots and didn't particularly want to do that. This isn't a complaint, but just something to consider for anyone with mobility concerns who might be considering visiting. There are some normal style chairs in the front of the restaurant that I'm sure I would have been switched to had I requested as such. Anyway, onto the food. I ordered the "Lahana Ko Faarzi Bhoj" which arrived on a large round platter with a variety of different dishes. I am very new to this type of food, and most of it was completely unfamiliar to me, which was very exciting. The grain at the center of this platter is "chiura," a rice product which has been pounded flat and dried. It has a light and crunchy texture, and pairs well with the thinner, wet curries it was served with as it really soaks up the liquid and expands in size. I've never had this before and it was very interesting to try. The platter comes with two bowls of warm curry, one with black eyed peas and maybe some potato and the other was darker with meat which I preferred. Both were rich and deep in flavor, but the darker one (pictured on the right) was so savory and well balanced- definitely my favorite part of the meal. They both have some heat to them, the kind that builds at the back of the palette throughout the meal, but none of this food was excessively spicy. The main plate has a ring of various cold dishes around the edge, all of which were unfamiliar to me so I can't necessarily identify them. My favorites were the pieces of well seasoned dark meat chicken and the deep fried egg in the center, but it also included some pickled elements, some ground meat and a small skewer, which I found to be quite tough. I really enjoyed trying new, interesting food in such a beautiful space. The servers were kind and there are many other items on the menu that I'm interested to try. I feel lucky to have this place nearby.

Come for happy hour and vibes: the drinks and atmosphere at Faarzi are unusual in the neighborhood, where few restaurants of its ilk have a full cocktail program. This is such a fun spot; don't be deterred by the Irish-pub-resembling exterior, the interior is delightful decorated with Himalayan touches, with bar or table seating. I've happened to come by a few nights when there's live music playing, and the crowd has clearly been there for the performance, but if you want to talk to your tablemates, you might want to come a bit earlier in the evening. I appreciated the creativity and the cuisine-specificity of the cocktails, and the bartenders are super friendly. The food is there as a nice accompaniment to the drinks, but if you're looking for a Himalayan meal experience and no drinks, I'd probably point you elsewhere in the Jackson Heights neighborhood up Broadway. I prefer Faarzi to Kasthamandap or UpTop in Jackson Heights/Elmhurst, but all three can provide similar live music/fun vibes/cocktail experiences.

Beautiful interior and attention to detail. Pleasant service and hot bartender. Corner location and parking availability. Notice I have not gotten to the food yet? That is because despite our server's recommendations, everything, in terms of food, was underwhelming. We had the pani puri, which was average. I had a soybean appetizer that was heavy on the horseradish, inedible until I added the tamarind chutney from the pani puri to temper the overwhelming wasabi flavor. My friends had cocktails and they said they were good. The jhol momos were perhaps the highlight of the evening. But I am not sure if they were worth a return trip here. The biryani felt box-mix-ish. The vegetarian chow mein was bland while the masala chowmein was too intense. My friends ordered the fried chicken and it was such a let-down. We really wanted to love this place. But the fooday not be worth the prices.

Similar to Kathamandap, Faarzi is one of the higher-end Nepalese establishments in Queens with a full bar menu. It's located on a very quiet Elmhurst intersection with decor somewhere between a nightclub and a mandir - it feels like the kind of mysterious place you might return to in the morning only to find out that it's never existed. The best thing on the menu is the homemade achaar. They served some sort of mooli achaar on the bara plate, which we could not get enough of. The bara itself was fairly neutral in flavor, and the aloo sabzi was paired with strong fermented beans that I haven't acquired the taste for yet. We tried both the plain steamed veg momos as well as the jhol momo. The dumpling filling was very good, but I found the jhol broth a little light - the dumplings also could have been served hotter.

This is such a hidden gem! It is so cute inside and the staff was very friendly. Some of the food on the menu were a little out of my comfort zone, but I did try everything. The cocktails were delicious and I loved the Himalayan twist to them. Will definitely come back.

If you're craving authentic Nepali flavors, this restaurant is a hidden gem you need to experience! We tried momo, chowmein, chatpate, stick platter, and chicken wings. Each dish packed with bold Nepali spices and cooked to perfection. The flavors instantly took us back home, and the presentation was both vibrant and mouthwatering. On top of that, the cocktails were next-level creative and delicious! Chiya Bari Ma had the perfect chiya-infused twist, Lyase Paun brought that tangy punch, Bhagote Sadheko was a spicy surprise, and Aapey Margarita gave a fruity, refreshing Nepali spin to a classic. Each one was thoughtfully crafted and added to the unique vibe of the place. The ambiance was warm and welcoming, and the service was genuinely impressive, attentive, friendly, and full of heart. A big shoutout to Bipul Dai and team for creating a space that not only serves amazing food but also captures the true spirit of Nepal.

Stopped by Faarzi for drinks and was seriously impressed! I didn't try the food this time, but it looked amazing beautifully presented and definitely something I'll be back for soon. I had a glass of Merlot and Pinot Noir, and both were absolutely fantastic smooth, flavorful, and perfectly served. The atmosphere at Faarzi is stylish yet comfortable, making it a great spot to unwind. Service was great, and the overall vibe of the place was just right. Can't wait to return and dive into the food menu. A wonderful spot in Queens highly recommend for drinks and more!

Delicious high end Nepali cuisine at reasonable prices. We visited during happy hour, which offered some great deals on the menu. We tried the buffalo momo, which was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the biryani, my absolute favorite it was fragrant and had just the right amount of spice. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff who made our experience even better. They also had a lovely selection of beverages that complemented our meal perfectly. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and I will definitely be coming back for more.

Food was okay. I had way better Nepali food than what I had from this restaurant. Also service is okay and takes a while to get what we asked for. The restaurant itself is a cozy spot to go, but not the food. We had vegetarian Jhol Momo and the skin was hard and didn't taste like it fresh.

Hidden gem! Incredible Nepali food, friendly staff, and an ambience that nails cozy and classy at the same time. The grilled meat platter, momos, and any thali are absolute standouts, but the star of the night was the tea-inspired Nepali cocktail, Chia Bari Ma -- creative, refreshing, and unforgettable. Very special and great place. The people are extremely friendly and well-mannered. They do not offer beef but buffalo, which is special. They are a restaurant and bar together, so they open early evening and until late night, so you can get late night dinner, which is great. The best food around this area in walking distance. Definitely try this place.

Absolutely Stunning Restaurant! This place is truly a gem in the neighborhood I've called home for 18 years. I'm thrilled it's within walking distance! The food is incredible, but what stands out most for me is the beautiful presentation. Presentation is so important to me--it's even more exciting than the food itself! From the Buff Choila served in a smoky covered pot to the Chicken Momo, everything was perfection. We even got complimentary popcorn served in a charming Nepali Dalo, which added such a cute and authentic touch. The service was top-notch. A special shoutout to the warm and welcoming bartender, ~ Ishowr Gautam ~who made the experience even better with his professionalism and hospitality. I can't wait to come back for more!

Amazing restaurant! Food and service were a 10/10. I came with a party of three and wanted to watch the Knicks game. The server was super friendly and accommodating, and they even changed the channel so we could watch it. Also, the mango lassi cocktail was sooo good; definitely a must-try!

Each item on the menu delivered on its promise. Their food selection is remarkably diverse. The cost structure is fair for good food. People that work here are super nice. I plan to make this a repeat destination, perhaps often.

I chose this restaurant to mark my birthday and loved it. Their dishes are remarkably good and their service always pleases. The quality of service here stands out. The kitchen creates well, the designers planned well and the servers execute well. I rate this spot at maximum excellence.

From menu to d?cor, everything here feels just right. You can taste the care in fresh preparation. The kitchen produces great food in beautiful surroundings. Their workers gave me the most attentive service I've received. If only I could justify more visits here!

On Sundays they open a little later for lunch, but we didn't mind the wait. We walked in and welcomed into a cozy place with fun decor. Everywhere there is some unique detail. We came as a large family, and they seated us at a large table with low seats. Warning, do not sit there if you have difficulty getting up and sitting low. They have other seats available. However, for my sister's three year old, she felt like these seats were just the right size! Everything here tastes amazing and they also spice to taste. We got a chaat and it was too spicy for the toddler, so they made a small cupful just for her. We got the momo sampler, which is great if you want a little of each. It comes with 5 per flavor, and we had five adults, so perfect! The noodles came with soup in a kettle, and the soup is a rich broth that was worth drinking on its own. Luckily my brother in law added bhiryani after we ordered, because that was so tasty, and I'm glad we didn't miss out on that. Def would recommend as a nice date spot in the evening as well.
