"A veritable Who’s Who of Vienna! The Italian cuisine served in this fashionable city restaurant is just as modern and minimalist as the interior design – two equally good reasons to give it a try! The bar also serves a range of snacks." - Michelin Inspector

One of the best restaurants in Vienna center. Great food and service. Make sure you dress properly (no shorts, etc.) as the manager may refuse you seating. Amazing place! Great vibe!

The ambiance is both pleasant and upscale, with part of the appeal being the high-caliber clientele it attracts. The food was delicious, but I’m not sure it justifies the value for money. The service, however, was disappointing – despite having a reservation, we were left waiting at the bar for a long time before being seated, and throughout the evening, we had to constantly seek out the waitstaff and wave them over, as they seemed to overlook us otherwise. All in all, while the restaurant has its merits, I’m unlikely to return.

Very fresh food recommended by the friendly staff marks my first impression towards Vienna, the food was a savory delight, combining the salty, delicate flavors of cured prosciutto. It's very good also to match with the chocolate. I was sitting on the street side so allowed me to enjoy the view plus the food.

1. Service was not fantastic, felt abit cold and aloof. However I got everything I needed during the meal. 2. The food was fantastic! The Calamari Fritti was light and crispy. It was well seasoned and tasted yummy! 3. The Pici pasta was al dente and has a chew/bite to it. Totally enjoyed this dish. Slight tad over salted but other than that, quite perfect 4. Grilled vegetables were done perfectly and enjoyed the small portion. All in all, all the food finished! 5. Finally when I was going to pay, I felt pressured to leave a tip. There is already service charges and I declined the tip. I felt it was not necessary to pressure diners for tip.

Google
What a shame! High expectations before visiting Fabios after my Viennese friend recommendation to go. Food was alright and tasty but nothing spectacular. The Tuscan Pici was real and tasty - hats off to the chef. The starter of beef tartar was decent but not worthy of almost double the price of my pasta! Now, here was the weakness of this evening experience: service was all over the place and lacked coordination. Professional waiters came and went but once the meals were served, they vanished! Our wine and water glasses were dry and, before going, I had to ask a passing member of staff for the dessert menu. Nothing exciting there so we just asked for the bill. This restaurant missed an opportunity to make at least €100 more out of us (dessert, sweet wine, coffees,…) just because nobody was paying attention. When they did, it was too late. Paid €273 for two including some €20 crazy charge for the table??? Not a place to return. Value for money is poor.

This is the softest octopus I’ve ever eaten! The prices are too high. But the taste, service and atmosphere is great! Very delicious ;)

Yelp
Don't get caught without a reservation to this swanky bourgeois local. Luckily we made them and glad we did. Sadly, we were not very hungry but even with 2 small plates of spaghetti and a single glass of red was $260.00. The location is amazing. Seriously in the middle of it all right in the city center. Surrounded by loads of goombahs dining with extended families and more goombah freinds than you can count, its a voyeurs' delight. The food is okay - sorry I have had better but the service is straight out of a movie with someone to catch your crumbs, if you like that sort of thing. Its good for "went there, did that" but it will crush your wallet like a hippo at dinner time if you make this your haunt. Its was worth the visit.

Yelp
We were out shopping in Vienna's city center and caught sight of Fabios. It ended up being one of our most memorable meals in Vienna. We were seated at the patio, great for people watching. Doting server. Great cocktails. Outstanding food. Best tiramisu we have had. We are back home still thinking about that meal.

Yelp
Fabios is an upscale fine dining Italian restaurant in Vienna, Austria's city centre. It is a favorite among celebrities, dignitaries, and the jet set crowd; for good reason. The ambience is a vibrant yet quiet elegance, the service excellent and the food is delicious. The menu has a wide range of entries. Valentino was our server, he was well trained with a good personality. We shared prosciutto as a starter; Calamari Fritti and Paccheri Pasta, followed by Sole and Branzino which we paired with a bottle of crisp delicious Gaya Alteni Sauvignon Blanc. The cheese plate was also delicious. Highly recommended. Reservations required.

Yelp
Fabios is one of the best restaurants that I ate at while staying in Vienna. I was a little worried because I read some bad reviews on Google, but I personally had no problems or complaints. The service was wonderful and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. This Michelin restaurant has beautiful interior and exterior and is situated right in the heart of town. Do yourself a favor and order one of their Bellini's. They are delicious, but be careful because they are addicting. The sea-bass was perfectly cooked and flakey; it was accompanied by fresh and flavorful vegetables. My favorite part of the meal was the chocolate soufflé. It was one of the best I have ever had. This restaurant is a definite must if you are in Vienna!

Yelp
The food was absolute fabulous! We started with the Cesar salad, the white asparagus, the bread salad, the carpaccio and calamari. We had the dish of the day which was some sort of fish with saffron sauce, the veal with truffle, and gnocchi with asparagus for mains. They were all outstanding! The service was amazing! We had a bottle of Merlot and a bottle of Chianti Reserva which were both amazing. The ambiance was great. It was a very pleasant experience overall.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. Great location if you plan a trip for shopping. Also the place itself looks nice and has good view to the street.

Yelp
Fabios was fantastic. We were seeking a high-quality restuarant prior to an opera performance and Fabios was perfect!. We had a reservation on 30 June 2022 at 4:00pm/16:00hrs prior to a 7:00pm/19:00hrs opera performance and had plenty of time to enjoy our meal. It was a rather warm afternoon/evening in Vienna so we opted for indoors...however, there was no air-conditioning indoors so we were still very warm. Outside on the patio may have been better as long as you are in the shade. We are a family of 6 including children ages 13-20 and are all very adventurous eaters. The cuisine of Fabios was phenomenal, unique and delicious. The wait staff was top-notch and very attentive. While somewhat pricey you will get what you pay for. I would recommend Fabios to you for any special occasion. Please consider visiting Fabios when you are in Vienna.

Yelp
Can't begin to explain how DELICIOUS everything was at this restaurant. We didn't have reservations but they accommodated us. When we sat down, we noticed we were at an Italian restaurant. At first thought it was weird to be eating at a Italian restaurant in Vienna but decided to stay anyways. We started with aperitifs, followed by appetizers and main course, and then desert (was so good just wanted to keep eating! ). Everything was absolutely superb! Service was ok but I think the language barrier added to the dryness of the waiter. They charged 3.50 Euros cover charge per person which I thought was strange but didn't really question it. Highly recommend going there when in Vienna!

Jeannie C.

Yelp
The meal and ambiance was excellent. They DO charge a "cover charge" and it's not cheap but one of the best meals we've had.

Sean G.

Yelp
In 20 years I can only remember one other occasion that the bill was inaccurate. We ordered glasses of wine from the main wine menu but what was reflected on the bill was approximately 3 - 4 times more expensive. What is even more bizarre is the wine we were charged was not even on that menu and to even further complicate matters the bill reflected 1 glass of the correct wine and then the remaining were wrong. The whole thing was a farce, the waiter accepted his mistake after spending 10 min proofing the point. At this point I left the 20e tip which I regret and paid the semi corrected bill as there was still an error. It wasn't worth our time to waste. What transpired was not a genuine mistake in my opinion and the way it was handled was abhorrent. When you are charged a cover charge I should have given this place a miss. How they have a bib from Michelin is beyond me. My advise is to give this place a miss, walk on bye and leave the cover charge, poor service, mediocre food, poor lighting behind.

Yelp
Having been to tabio's before I was very disappointed with my last visit and will never return period! After waiting patiently for seat at the bar Chama the bartender instructed me and my girlfriend were 2 places were free and we could sit comfortably. After ordering a very expensive bottle of pink champagne we had only finished one glass, and my girlfriend went out to smoke a cigarette. Within 2 minutes I" so called bar manager" came up and started making a big problem and we did not understand what the problem was.!(?) I explained if we could wait just 2 minutes for my friend to return as I did not have enough hands for the bottle was 2 glasses plus 2 handbags plus 1 small shopping bag. He offered no help, and could have cared less that I was unable to carry everything by myself. He guided me back to a table in the very back of the bar that was filled with dirty dishes pointed and said this is your new place Tex clamation point they did not even have the courtesy to 1st clean the table and they did not care to. When I questioned him about this he rudely looked at me and said if you don't like it then pay and get out! A nearby male customer saw this and was outraged and said he knew this so called craft bar manager and went to speak with him. The bar manager was in no mood to discuss anything and said if your friends are not happy then they should pay and get out!!! After speaking to about a dozen different people who were locals I have come to understand that this is typical treatment that they enjoy handing out.! I have never seen 2 beautiful ladies handled so poorly and it was made very clear they don't care! I repeat they don't care they seem to get off on this type of rude handling of ladies. I wouldn't visit this place unless you Enjoy being treated like Garbage.!

Dijana U.

Yelp
Came in a bit before midnight (they close at 1:00) and never seen a man so rude to me and my friend. I didn't understand German, but my friend new and she said he wouldn't let us in cause it was full. Note it wasn't full. Somehow we got seated. The man that seemed to be the manager was the worst person when it came to customer service that I've ever seen. That man needs to change careers cause hospitality is not for him.

Yelp
Fabios is a classy, upscale Italian restaurant in the heart of Vienna's first district, serving exquisite Italian cuisine. As most of the restaurants I rate, the rating is based on taste of the food only and should be compared only with other local restaurants in Vienna (not New York City, as it would rate differently). Here we go: - Agnolotti verdi ripeni - homemade green agnolotti filled with mascarpone. Very delicate and subtle dish. The agnolotti were cooked perfectly and are served is emulsified butter-sage sauce with roasted hazelnuts. It's one of these dishes that you can have either as an appetizer or as a main course. - Burrata with tomatoes and basil (kind of a very fancy caprese). Excellent. Tomatoes are tossed with lemon which brightens up the flavor and and balances the mild flavor of the burrata. - Homemade Tagliatelle with salsiccia (Italian sausage) in a white wine and butter sauce. A rustic dish that bursts with flavor. Worth going there for this dish alone. - Homemade eggplant gnocchi with tomato rucola sauce. Gnocchi melt in your mouth. A great combination of flavors making a very elegant and well composed dish. The service is probably one of the best in the entire city. So far, one of my top 3 Italian restaurants in Vienna.

Yelp
I had a really nice dinner here alone. I have been traveling in Vienna by myself and read about Fabio's through Travel & Leisure and of course, my usual visit to Yelp and ok...this time Trip Advisor (generally has more reviews right now than Yelp in German languages does). It was nice. I sat next to some people traveling from overseas and they chatted me up and were quite funny and nice. There were more German speakers there than anything else though, which is a good sign in my book when dining out on vacation. The service was extremely attentive and very friendly. They spoke English and German, and had both language menus. I had a panzanilla salad for a starter and the arrabbiata for dinner. I had two glasses of wine - one was an Italian Primotivo and the other was an Austrian Cuvee. Both delicious. They also let me try a few wines to make sure I received what I wanted. I decided against dessert, so I could opt for going to Cafe Central by my hotel. The decor is lovely - very contemporary and the bar is more ultra lounge. I love the bathrooms, though it's a bit weird to stare at yourself while you're using the toilet. I do like the black toilets though, very....pisser chic! Overall, Fabio was a delightful want to end a late arrival due to flood waters and a rainy early evening in Vienna. I suggest this restaurant for someone looking for a more gourmet and special Italian experience - a date, a business dinner, or a solo dinner where you can feel comfortable, respected, and safe. There were even families there with children and the kids were well behaved and quite happy to be there - so if you're child isn't too excitable, it's a good option for a higher end family dinner. Oh, and for international travelers: they have free wifi.

Yelp
Nice and quiet ambiance with roof to ceiling windows around for people watching in the shopping district of Vienna. Excellent food, well prepared and with a delightful combination of flavors. Highly recommended.

Milena K.

Yelp
Restaurant was packed, we were a bigger group of 8 and had a second seating at 9pm. Given that late time everyone only took one course, which took also quite a while to prepare (we waited for one full hour). Prices are elevated. I had tagliatelle fate in casa allo zafferano con langostinos & zucchine for €28.50. The high expectations were not fulfilled, the pasta was mediocre - the langostinos were ok. Not worth the price. However, wine prices were reasonable.

Yelp
Late evening dinner at Fabios! Wow !! Every meal made to order! Simple delicious! The waiter (Murat) was very attentive and understanding to our needs... We will be back tomorrow..

Natalie G.

Yelp
This place was good and near our hotel, Park Hyatt. It has a very hip and fashionable scene for a Wednesday night so I can't imagine on the weekends. Pretty people center around here. The octopus salad was light and refreshing, and a nice starter. The lasagna-like noodles in the bolognese sauce was perfectly done. The filet was requested to be medium, but was more like medium well when received. Wine list was expansive. All in all. Good spot. They do that annoying euro thing where they charge you 3.50 euro as a "cover charge." Even spending over 150 euros apparently still mandates that charge.

Yelp
Amazing Italian in Vienna! A friend who lives here suggested Fabio's and we went this evening. Terrific service, atmosphere is nice, and the food was excellent. My wife and I shared the tortellini with sausage in sage sauce as an appetizer and it was perfect. The filet Mignon was wood fired and very good. I had to send back as it was way too rare, which the server did quickly with a smile.

Michael H.

Yelp
Great place, pasta was super fresh! Great people watching but service was confusing. Order from 1 waiter, delivery by another, and beer in champagne glass? Would return just for the tagliatelle!

Lulu N.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night while I was in Vienna. It's located in a very nice area. The atmosphere is very posh and chic. It's clearly the place to be as there were two protection agents accompanying one table of guests. The service was very quick which was nice as well. The food was obviously on the expensive side but delightful. We had the Tuscan vegetable soup to start, sea bass and roasted chicken and the Apple tart for dessert. I am sad to say the sea bass was a little salty. The rest of the meal was pretty good though, especially the apple tart! Overall, I would return if we were in the mood for fine dining again.

A V.

Yelp
The place has become a little too over the top. We were late for an appointment on a rainy random Monday evening, the place was not too busy and the host says he canceled our appointment, even though we had called a couple of times that we were running late! He finally let us sit down and three tables around us were empty the whole time we were there. Food and service were reasonably good, but not THAT good!

J B.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant and fabulous food. Only complaint is that the cigarette smoke from the bar really affected the restaurant and our experience. If they would prohibit smoking then I would Give it full stars

Eric R.

Yelp
Fabio's Bar had great attentive service, nice dry Austrian Cabernet Sauvignon and good dinner execution. The veal chop was very good to great but the Chicken with cous cous arrived undercooked and had to be sent back and was re-presented after the Veal Chop was already consumed!

Candace R.

Yelp
Read another review which said they went without a reservation and were told there weren't any tables open...then they suddenly found a table for them. Same experience for us so I guess they REALLY want you to make a reservation! the dining room is very chic...the bar is SMOKY. we were under dressed...most men had sports coats on. Their Italian food is spot on and very good. Delicious Burrata (mozzarella)...a special tonight. recommend it highly.

Em W.

Yelp
Fabios was amazing! It had great service, amazing food and wonderful wine! The Fish Soup was super good and the Veal Ravioli in butter sauce was wonderful too. We also made a reservation. We were glad we did because it was super busy.

Virginia K.

Yelp
Already second time I went there for dinner, and again food/service/interior was perfect as always. Always a fantastic choice of dishes which are very fresh and simply delicious! Definitely worth reserving a table since it's almost always fully booked. Was definitely not the last time there.

Alexandra G.

Yelp
We went there last night and did enjoy the night a lot. The waiter we had was very professional and friendly. The interior is kept rather dark, which gives it an intimate and cool feel. The food was delicious. The only criticism which can be placed here is that the starters were delivered very quick and we didn't have the time to finish our aperitifs. All in all it was a great night! Thank you Fabio's

Ruthless R.

Yelp
Great service and definitely a hot spot in Vienna. Food was great and service could not have been more pleasant, helpful and kind. Highly recommend this joint. Check it out!

Anett E.

Yelp
Service was great, although I did notice that the waiter did not tell us about the specials at all while he did so to the German speaking couple sitting right next to us. He may not have been comfortable speaking in English? Anyway, the food was good, except for the spinach salad - that was very confusing. Salty grapefruit segments, not very flavorful fried goat cheese ravioli and too much dressing (although I do like very little dressing on my salads usually). Wine was awesome, did not have dessert but did have two different soups and they were both very tasty. All in all, this restaurant was okay but not sure it is worth the top $$$ ;-). Seemed very popular though.

Hady R.

Yelp
Great food and service. Just the noise from the construction site around them is a bit of an inconvenience. A definite thumbs up though.

Manu V.

Yelp
We stopped by here for lunch on a weekday. Even though the place was pretty empty, and it seemed like the wait staff was not busy, we were disappointed with the service - our main waiter acted somewhat snobbishly towards us. The food was tasty but not particularly remarkable - the raviolli I tried was doused in butter.
