"This fine-dining American restaurant with bayside views serves upscale eats like prime rib, pan-seared scallops, lobster many ways, oysters, and cream of Maryland crab soup prepared daily. The white-tablecloth venue also delivers on classic cocktails and wines." - Tierney Plumb, Adele Chapin, Tim Ebner

Came with a large group and were immediately seated. No complaints from any of our group. Appetizer was a little pricey for 3 scallops but they were tasty. It was a nice day so we sat outside and enjoyed the water viewI’d definitely go back.

It’s important to know that there is a difference between “fine dining “and the general restaurant. Fine dining requires a reservation, the menu is high end and the ambience is five star with white tablecloths and almost Greek islands feel. My husband and I went on a Sunday night in June, even though we had reservations, there was a lot of availability. Our server Beth, there 40 years was fantastic, the food was delicious and the views were amazing, be sure to bring your sunglasses!

Google
The food and atmosphere were great. Our service was also perfect. Once we were seated. However, as the lady told me, the reservations are a rough estimate and booking for an 8 pm diner and expecting to be seated before the 8:52 sunset is cutting it close. Keep that in mind. Servers and food are awesome. Gray-haired Maitre D gets a D for being rude af. We made it in time and had an overall good experience. I'm just giving an honest review so NON Locals have a heads up. I would do it again but book an earlier time.

Google
Reservations made for fine dining @ 7:15. We were seated right away at a wonderful table on 2nd story overlooking the bay. Party of 4 and all felt best 🦀 crabcake. Personally, ordered halibut which was catch of the day. We listened to 1812 Tchaikovsky's Overture played daily at sunset and after dinner went to listen to band playing downstairs. Pricey dinners but definitely will go again!

Had a delicious lunch here on July 5th. Service was quick and very nice for a busy holiday weekend. View is lovely from the air conditioned porch seating. We had a reservation for 6 and found two booths that made seating comfortable and conversation still possible. I had the crab melt, very nice. We started off with crab dip and coconut shrimp ( both yummy) I am glad I ordered what I did as the portions were large for the crab cake sandwich. I would recommend if you are looking for a great place to eat that is easy to get to and off the strip of zaniness that is OC!

Google
Very popular seafood restaurant on the bay side that is large including at least 5 separate bar areas. The rockfish daily special was very good. Raw bar, appetizers, many seafood entrees are available. Full bar menu- cocktails wine beer. Great friendly service.

Google
Super cool spot with live music and good food. The fine dining menu can be ordered at the bar and the blue cheese crusted steak was bomb. Kendall was great!

Google
Always. The. Best. Experience! Food, ahhhhmazing. I got the special. Service, top notch. View, stunning! And the music life, exciting and fun! Great bands and awesome djs. Been coming since the 90's. Still in love

Yelp
This venue has a bar, restaurant, and even a hotel. The restaurant and bar are attached to each other, but in their own separate areas with their own menus. The venue can hold a lot of people. If you are unable to find parking close by, you will be driven by a golf cart. Fine dining is available starting at 5pm. I was seated facing the bay and was able to watch the sun lower (but not set because I didn't stay long enough). I do wish they had blinds though because I was definitely blinded as the sun lowered. I felt like Johnny Cash while I wore my sunglasses inside. My party had: - Chicken livers & water chestnuts wrapped in bacon w/ a horseradish sauce ... 3/5 ... The water chestnuts were not distributed properly and the livers were a tad dry. It wasn't greasy at all and I LOVED the sauce. - Oysters Rockefeller ... 4/5 ... Light and acidic. It needed more seasoning, but it was very fresh - The day's special (catch of the day): rockfish, sautéed spinach, sun dried tomatoes, Noilly Prat sauce, fried couscous ... 3.5/5 ... The spinach was hot, but everything else was room temperature. The fish was cooked perfectly. I liked the fried couscous. It was a large portion and unfortunately bland because it lacked seasoning - "Lemon Lust": layers of lemon filling & sweetened cream cheese with a toasted pecan cookie crust ... 3.5 ... it reminded me of lemon meringue pie. The crust was good, and the layers were smooth. It wasn't tart at all and was a bit too sweet for me, but my family liked it a lot. The experience was very nice and our waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. The view was beautiful and the food was alright, but I expected better due to the price. I'd like to go to the bar next time to try their less expensive options. I do recommend the fine dining menu if you want something relaxed and romantic. If I find myself there again I will probably only get drinks and appetizers.

Yelp
The view of the sunset was amazing. They have two sides of the restaurant. The party side and the fine dining side. We did fine dining. The food was amazing and my daughter gobbled up the cheese cake The wine list is also very good and the prices are reasonable Our servers was really good and attentive

Alexis T.

Yelp
This is a nice venue, great space with two different sides to the restaurant. One side is fine dining and the other is a eccentric, cozy, chill space with an extended outdoor area an adjoined bar area. This place is packed for sunset but you can take a walk on the pier, grab a drink and have dinner after the early crowd leaves with sundown. The food is prepared well. The staple catch of the day has a nice subtle, tasty sauce and is light on the crab meat. The lemon dessert was good bit I'd prefer more lemon zest for flavor. The chocolate cake may be the safe bet and is large for sharing. The filet was cooked more than well, just passed as edible so maybe ask for medium and just send it back if you need a touch more heat. Crab cake is good enough for a staple surf and turf. The management and hostesses were more than accommodating to ensure we had the best options and timely seating. Great personalized care. I can see this being a staple restaurant in ocean city. The location, view, food, large dining areas are all a plus.

Adam D.

Yelp
Went to the fine dining portion and the location is perfect with a great view of the bayside. Cream of crab was amazing aswell was my steak&crab. Girlfriend left her box of food and the waiter chased us down to return it.

Kim D.

Yelp
One of the best places to dine, watch a band, watch the sunset and stay in a very special hotel! Must visit if you have never been! It's on its own little island with the Lighthouse hotel - very romantic with Exceptional bayviews and the Edge- gorgeously designed rooms all decorated differently with a theme! Fagers Island is one of the best and most locally renowned places to go in Ocean city!

Danielle C.

Yelp
Dined in the fine dining area on a weekday evening. Food was great and came out quickly. Steak was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Servers were attentive. View of bay was amazing. Lemon Lust was delicious. Would definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a fine dining experience.

Yelp
2024 Early Season Visit (June) to Fagers, as we usually go in August each year, and I was not disappointed. Chef Jim does great work, Daniel was our server and took great care of us. I had the Crab Tower Entree as an appetizer (cause I love to eat and I love crab cakes) and the 8 oz Filet for my Entree, cooked medium rare. My wife had the Cream of Crab Soup as her starter, and the Surf & Turf as her Entree, filet also medium rare. Crab soup was phenomenal, didn't leave a drop, crab tower (2 crab cakes, lobster sauce, carrots and potatoes) was awesome, so much crab! The filets were cooked to perfection, melt in your mouth. I am not the biggest lobster fan, but it was also cooked to perfection, not chewy, perfect. Dinner was from 7:45-8:45, watched a sunset, and enjoyed every minute of it. We always hit up Fager's Island when in OCMD!

Becca H.

Yelp
So always heard good things about Fager's and since it's right near the St Patty's Day parade route, we decided to come here afterwards. Of course there was a wait, but honestly it wasn't as bad as I expected. We waited maybe 45 minutes to be seated, and in the meantime it was a lovely day so we were able to get drinks and sit on some benches outside. They were definitely prepared for the crowd. They had a bathroom attendant making sure things were running smoothly and quickly (her mantra was "flow and go" lol). They had plenty of staff working so the tables were being flipped quickly. I got the fish and chips and a dirty Elvis drink, which is a frozen peanut butter, chocolate, and banana drink. The food was great and that drink was delicious. I had a really nice time here and will definitely be back.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
WOW! Food was incredible, drinks were made well, and I was easily accommodated for a group of 16 in the fine dining area. I had the mussles & nantucket scallops. Great flavor. Great price point. Paid under $1500 for a group of 16 including drinks and 20% tip.

Monee T.

Yelp
My family and I celebrated my husband for Father's Day at Fager's. From the Cream of Crab Soup to the Prime Rib, everyone could not get enough of just how delightful and enjoyable the food was. The atmosphere is worth noting. There is not a bad seat in the house. We will dine again.

Michelle Y.

Yelp
Come here for great bay views and a festive summertime vibe! The food was good too! We came here at 5pm on a Wednesday. There was plenty of room for us to sit outside on the back (yellow) deck overlooking the water. It really started to fill up about an hour after we arrived. A band was playing inside, the weather was warm and our waitress was very patient and attentive. We started with a few delicious drinks and the crab claw cocktail. I loved the Painkiller cocktail. It was very tropical in flavor . The Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita was great too! I went with the Scallops Nantucket for my entrée and it was perfect. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the risotto and sauce that came with it were delicious. It's definitely a festive spot to dine at while visiting OCMD!

Matthew M.

Yelp
My wife and I and another couple went to dinner at the "fine dining" restaurant which was anything but fine dining. You walk upstairs to a 1980 red carpet, and wicker chairs. The staff was very friendly but dressed in quarter zips. For fine dining you just expect different attire. The best part was the view. You can see the bay clearly and it's beautiful! The food was just ok. We all got soup and it came out room temperature but had good flavor. Then we got a charcuterie board which was a joke. It was sliced deli meats thrown on a plate with a rose made out of slices of provolone cheese. There were some little pieces of bread that were good. Two of us got steak and two got crab cakes. The steak was cooked correctly but not seasoned and chewy. The crab cakes were the size of crab balls. For the price this wasn't worth another visit.

Yelp
We were at Fagers Island Aug 2023. We were in Fine Dining part of the resturant. It was HORRIBLE! Music was SO Loud We could carry on a conversation! We could hear people laughing and screaming from the bar!! Do NOT Waste your money here! Fine Dining prices. College bar atmosphere!

Amanda B.

Yelp
My family arrived for an early dinner around 4:30 on a Sunday. We sat outside on the deck with a nice view of the bay. We ordered off the regular menu but the backside of the menu features items available after 5pm from the fine dining area. This is definitely a place where you only come for the pretty views and atmosphere because the food and drinks were very bland. We ordered the fried mozzarella as an app and chicken Caesar salad and crab cake sandwich for entrees. My bf ordered a banana daiquiri that took about 15 minutes to get to him so not sure if it was super watered down by that point or if the drinks are just weak. Maybe the fine dining side has better food but tbh I don't see us returning here unless it's to hang outside and listen to some live music.

Muriah L.

Yelp
The service and water views were amazing but the food had a lot more to offer. I had the scallops over risotto with arugula. The risotto wasn't the best but the scallops were decent. My favorite part of the dish was the arugula. The creme brulee was delicious! TL;DR: Go for the views and get dessert.

Robin A.

Yelp
I've always enjoyed Fagers Island. Interesting themes throughout the entire building. Elegant, casual and great visuals. Music genres of all kinds. You can't beat it. Food is very good and served as well.

Christina T.

Yelp
Great ambiance, good service, okay food. We went for lunch. You pay to be right on a gorgeous stretch of water and feel the breeze of the bay. The crab soup was 4/5, old bay wings were 3/5 (great wings but didn't taste like old bay at all), the salmon BLT was 2/5 (if you get it, I'd recommend getting it on different bread). Drinks were good. French fries were great.

Lisa J.

Yelp
Extremely expensive and the food is not good. You expect to pay more on vacation but this is not worth it. The service was very good.

Justin B.

Yelp
Overall, while the food here is very good, Fager's Island cuts many corners elsewhere for what seems to be no reason. This place is meant for the top 5% of Ocean City, not your average visitor. I didn't know that Fager's Island had a bar/club section and a dining section. While entering it really was like 2 completely different places connected to one. **I am reviewing only the dining portion fagers island** We were first picked up by golf cart to go to the restaurant, not too often you see that happen! Upon being handed off to several different hostesses, we were greatest with a very nice ambiance Inside the restaurant. Smooth lighting, nice artwork throughout, I knew this place was upscale once we stepped foot inside. Our server was great, and I will admit the food that we had was some of the best we've had. The scallops were top notch, the salmon was near the best I've had, and the crab cakes were top tier, BUT... be prepared to spend no less than $40 per meal. The cheapest thing on the menu was somewhere around $32 which I thought was crazy. And yes I know the food was great but the portions were too small for the price I believe. The only way to get filled on a meal here is to indulge on the bread (which was just a kings Hawaiian roll with a salty galaxy on top) that they give you. I was expecting some nice bread made in house with prices like these, it seemed like a cop out. What also was a cop out was the little birthday dessert treat you get which it's your birthday. My sister got a strawberry swimming in a bowl of whipped cream with a candle. Like come on, other places give you a slice of cake or something, but here, with $40 prices, a bowl of whipped cream?

Kysha R.

Yelp
Service is terrible!! Spoke to the manager about not getting served after sitting at a table with no one offering us water or anything. Just walked by is as if we were invisible. The manger's response was "I know why it happened and I apologize and I'm embarrassed" He never said what it was, but we already knew what he was talking about. Apparently his servers and staff have a problem waiting on POC. He offered us a different section, I'm guessing where all the brown people are allowed to sit. We politely declined. He offered to have us come back on another day I guess so he could brunch them up on diversity training, but we decided to pass on that offer too! I don't have to spend my money in any establishment that doesn't want to serve me! We went down the street a little at a place called Ropemakers and had a great time! Excellent food, great atmosphere and customer service 10/10!

Carolyn C.

Yelp
I was extremely hesitant to come here again after such a horrid experience years ago, however, I got talked in to returning for a birthday dinner. The venue has been updated and appears to have expanded. Parking is still a bit cramped and the entrance is still confusing--"fine" dining vs. party lines were still blurred, especially with the amount of trash covering the walkway due to the wrist band stickers being thrown on the ground by Staff. Upon entering, you now have to show your ID, have it scanned and they take a snap shot of your face--uneasy feeling. Walking in is LOUD. So loud. Did I mention ...loud? Your ears bleed just from walking in to be escorted to the other side of the venue for dinner. For dinner--I had a mocktail, salmon and Caesar salad. Definitely not worth the hefty bill but I'm reality you are paying for the VIEW. It is breathtaking. I could sit there forever and just stare out at the water. Service wasn't the best, food isn't anything to rave about but the view made up for all the above.

Yelp
Hey, man! So, check it out. We were cruisin' into Ocean City and stumbled upon this place that looked hella excellent, bro. At first, we were thinkin' about catchin' the sunset, but we didn't wanna chow down too late, you know? So, we booked a reservation for 5:30, man. This joint was pretty big, dude, with all sorts of different areas to explore. Downstairs, they had live music jammin', but our reservations were for upstairs, which was more like fancy schmancy fine dining, you dig? The atmosphere was outta sight, man. White tablecloths and a million-dollar view of the water. It would totally be the perfect spot to wine and dine while watchin' the sun go down, bro. And let me tell ya, the service was unreal! Our waiter was like the nicest dude ever, super knowledgeable, and he had everything under control, man. He was on it like a squirrel on trail mix, if you know what I mean. Now, the craft beer list, it had a lot of local stuff, which we love, man. But, sadly, a lot of it was subpar. Thank the beer gods for UnTappd, 'cause it saved the day. But hey, they also had this crazy extensive wine and top-shelf liquor lists, bro. So, there were options for everyone's taste. Now, listen up, 'cause this is important. It's not every day you see chicken liver on a menu, right? So, when I spotted those bacon-wrapped chicken livers on the appetizer list, it was a no-brainer, man. And let me tell ya, they were excellent! We also ordered this mozzarella app, and damn, it was outta this world! And hold up, the food, man, the food was the bomb! My wife's filet mignon was cooked to perfection, bro. And my 20oz prime ribeye? It was like one of the most succulent steaks I've ever sunk my teeth into, man. And the crab cake? Packed full of actual crab meat, dude. I ain't even sure if it had any filler, it was that good! In short, the food was outstanding, bro. Now, I gotta warn ya, this ain't some cheap-o steakhouse, man. The food ain't cheap, far from it. But let me tell ya, it's worth every penny, dude. So, this joint is definitely goin' on my list for the next time I roll through Ocean City. If you're up for a splurge that'll blow your taste buds away, this is the place to be, my friend.

Micaela M.

Yelp
When it hit 9:30pm, the band came out to sing and my friends and I danced on the dance floor! Gave it a 4/5 star rating because my filet came out cold and the flavor was okay - nothing insane.

Lucy P.

Yelp
I went here on a Friday night for dinner and was blown away by this adorable restaurant. The overall setting of the area is so cute and welcoming. The service was some of the best I ever had. Our waiter went out of his way to be helpful and was very proactive on meeting our needs. The food was so delicious and the portion sizes were great! We went during sunset which I'd definitely recommend to anyone going here soon. We got a seat near the window and the view was incredible. I'd definitely make this a stop if you're going to Ocean City, Maryland anytime soon!

Jordanna S.

Yelp
Our service was very good and the food was great. I had crab cakes and mashed potatoes with a side Caesar salad and they were all excellent. The very best thing was the water view which enabled us to see the sunset over the water.

Khaleedah M.

Yelp
We ate at the Fine Dining area of this restaurant. The also have a regular area to eat. The food at the Fine Dining was a good price for the service and the quality of the food. The Drinks were good. Staff was pleasant. Would definitely visit this place again.

Justin W.

Yelp
The Only Review You Need To Read We had the pleasure of being treated to dinner at this restaurant two nights in a row, and overall they were both pleasurable experiences. The first night, I felt compelled to order the cream of crab soup and crab cakes as my entree (evidently crabs are a thing in Maryland). The cream of crab soup was very thick and rather on the salty side (not a problem for me, but those with high blood pressure should take heed). My only issue was it was served lukewarm when it should have been hot. But I ate it anyway. The crab cakes were very delicious. But after the soup as well as the appetizers which had been ordered for the table to share, I could only finish one crab cake. A "to go" container was in order. Here's what kept this from being a five star review. We ordered creme brûlée for dessert, and the top shell was hardly burned and not crispy at all. The taste was fine, but really lacking that crispy burnt sugar shell. No raspberry or any sort of fruit came with it, but there was this thick-as-paste whipped cream with chocolate chips on the side that was really delicious. The view in the upstairs dining area is amazing; especially at sunset where a dramatic orchestral soundtrack is provided to accompany the setting sun (don't be alarmed - this is on purpose). Beautiful view with the outside seating, though it looked like it could be on the windy side. My colleagues picked up the tab for dinner both nights and encouraged me to order whatever I wanted, so who am I to argue with them? So the next night, while I was tempted to order the Wagu steak, I went with the Prime Rib; mostly because I didn't want to be "that guy who ordered the most expensive item on the menu because someone else was paying." It was really good and flavorful. We ordered creme brûlée again and told the server about our disappointment with the previous evening, and she said it would be much better this time. It came out the same way as before. Oh well. I definitely would go back to this restaurant again, though I probably would get a different dessert.

Gerald H.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner on a weekday night. I have been here a few times for the night life, but for the dining I was a first timer on this trip. We were sat upstairs in the indoor part overlooking the bay. We came around 7:30 and were sat immediately. I ordered a crown Manhattan which was as close to a crown Manhattan as I am to an NFL HOF QB. Yikes. It was brutally bad. So I figured this was going to be a tough go. However, things turned around quickly - receiving my cream of crab soup which was perfectly seasoned and came with crab on top. Perfect execution. We also split the fried mozzarella which was a little on the pedestrian side but again well-seasoned and tasty. And also splitting a Caesar salad which I think the whole table got a piece of. Really good. For my meal I went with the steak and cake - with a small slice of bread under the steak so the drippings didn't mingle and sog the crab cake. The entree came with vegetables and a baked potato. The potato was on the small side but the crab cake was perfect and the steak cooked properly medium. Then the music started. I nearly looked out back to see if there was a sword fight taking place - because some John Philip Sousa was blaring. I'm into it. Apparently every night they play music that the last note hits when the sun totally sets behind the horizon. Really cool. The whole table got desserts and passed them around - my main was the NY cheesecake with strawberry shmear, but also tried the Oreo cheesecake, the creme brûlée, the dreamsicle cheesecake- all were very good. Probably a close second in terms of favorite/best meals during my stay on the island. Very good. Will be back!

Amy D.

Yelp
Great food consistently. I love the onion soup and spinach salad. Bartenders are terrific.

Justin N.

Yelp
Scallops and the view were my favorite part. Nice oceanfront dining. Expensive and average food but definitely a nice dining room to eat at in OC.

Milk T.

Yelp
Will never return. Roaches!!! Staff could care less. Pro: Only saw one. Con: If you see one...

Santana H.

Yelp
Well when you go to Fagers, you go for the ambiance! The food and drinks is just an added bonus. Beautiful right on the water venue, great at sunset and then you can jump right into the evening fun while listening to a good band. Food was just average, way over priced but I guess your paying for the whole venue. Service was good as well, bartenders were quick and accommodating.

Hunter H.

Yelp
They wouldnt let me in with my MEDICAL marijuana card when its recreational in Maryland and I had brought my vape along. I'm from PA and its something I can't really go without, very disappointing. We had dinner here the night before and I wouldnt recommend the chicken livers, $15 for 6 (Six!?) bacon wrapped livers is not worth it. Rest of the food was meh at their price points but I understand we are in OCMD during peak season. I didnt try any of the fine dining, and probably never will after my experiences this trip. Shoutout to the bozo running security who as I was trying to explain that I was a MMJ patient shouted "We dont care, this is a private business, get the hell out of here!" You wont see another dime from me.

Jan H.

Yelp
Sit outside for the Sunset with the 1812 overture. The food is standard good. Sauces a little rich for me. Here is what made the night. The wait staff. Audra was the most awesome. We encouraged her a little and she was stand up comedian funny besides the great service. Hope your lucky and get Audra to wait on you.

Don S.

Yelp
We have been there 3 times on vacation with our service dog. all 3 times we were hassled when we attempted to enter the restaurant. The bartender insisted we sit outside, after an argument we were seated inside. The manager never apologized etc etc. Nothing like having your dinner experience ruined by this uncaring, ignorant establishment

Cathy G.

Yelp
This is the second time we've eaten in the fine dining section. We had the smoked salmon and Whole Black Sea bass fried crispy with an Asian style sauce. We loved both.

Marji M.

Yelp
Granted it was bikers weekend. Service was slow. I had requested a nice table for our anniversary probably got the worst table in the dining room. A 2 top against the back wall in a corner. Food was good, no question but bill was over $250. Again, no issue with the good food. Waitress probably overworked with the section. Restaurant is showing its age. Have been coming here for over 30+ years. Restaurant is in need of upgrading. Carpet awful, ladies bathroom probably not ADA. Will not return and we are full time residents.

Mark P.

Yelp
We have been coming here for 30+ years. We have never had a bad experience! The food and service are (if not) the best Ocean City has to offer. Make sure to get a table facing the sunset and then take a stroll after dinner down on the pier for some fantastic views.

John W.

Yelp
Food and service were great. The 1812 overture at sunset is fantastic. I proposed to my GF there on 8/23/23 and she said yes!

Bella L.

Yelp
Last night my friends and I went to Fagers for dinner. We were in the fine dining area. The room was beautiful. It had an amazing view over the bay looking at the rt90 bridge. And a cute little gazebo!! Adorable. The steak we got was absolutely wonderful. Blue cheese herb crested New York strip. It was amazing if you like blue cheese but alittle bit $$$. For desert we basically tried them all. We got the kahlua chocolate cake which was heavenly. The Oreo cheesecake was also great. Plus look at that presentation!! Amazing!! Our waitress was wonderful her name was Beth!

Sherrice B.

Yelp
Faggers Island Restaurant!! Very trendy with a Rustic Boat feeling like your on your own island. They have outdoor seating facing water , they also have a second level inside with water view. Then they have the main dining room. I should have pick the inside/outside dining but nexttime. Our waitress is Olivia, she was very patient and suggestive. We started off with ordering The Crab Bisque .. let me say this was absolutely delicious, chunks of crab in the middle. Dad and I ordered the same, The Steak and Cake. The food was good, only thing I didn't like was that they sat my steak on top of a piece of toast. I don't like dry steak I like to be able to dap my steak in its juices. I don't know who came up with that toast idea but not a good one. The crab cake was small but mighty full of crab not much filler. Asparagus was good also. We were too full to even think about dessert. Dad wanted the salmon as he had it before but it was no longer offered on the current menu. Please bring the Salmon back!

Allison N.

Yelp
We come here every year for Thanksgiving and the food is super good and the service is really friendly, so my review is kind of limited to this day in particular. What's really bizarre is that they don't let you take leftovers from your second plate (which is part of their Thanksgiving special). You can only take leftovers from your first plate, which basically means if you get a second plate which you have already paid for, the food you don't eat gets thrown away, which is really wasteful. However you can take the dessert to go?? It makes zero sense. At least let people pay for the container or charge extra for taking the item to go. Hopefully not the way this place operates usually. I just don't understand why there are limitations on taking food to go that they are happy to give you but apparently not happy to have you take with you. It's a beautiful restaurant with great food but very odd rules.

Yelp
Came back to OCMD recently and of course we went to Fagers island both nights we were there. However, they should probably state at the door that the bartenders prefer patrons to pay with cash as opposed to credit card. Multiple times we were asked for cash instead of a credit card but when told we don't have cash, they accepted the credit cards. That seems very weird to me. This happened at multiple bars throughout the establishment.

Yelp
A longtime favorite which is desperately needing some renovations and updates. Really starting to show its age! Bartenders are hard working and food is OK. Ordered Asian wings and they were swimming in 2 inches of sauce.... Will stick with the live music and libations and eat before I go!

Yelp
The main dining area was well decorated in the Christmas Spirit. Lighting was just right, not too bright or dark. The fireplace was a nice touch. Sylvia greeted us promptly and cheerfully took our order. The French onion soup was hot, savory with tons of flavorful mozzarella and nice top crust. It was delicious. The New York strip was absolutely delicious with a creamy sauce. We'd definitely recommend Flager's Island for "fine " dining.

Yelp
Amazing Bay Views, Some Vegetarian Options, Prepare for a Political Stance When in Ocean City, deciding on a dining area other than the boardwalk for water views, this location was suggested for the amazing views of Assawoman Bay. It definitely has unobstructed views from several locations including a sandy beach area, lots of bar areas spread out, low and high tops both indoor and outdoor, layers of dining tables lining the water's edge with glass wind protection (nice touch), a separate fine dining option offered in the top level indoor/outdoor dining area that overlooks the peasants eating "light fare" below and a long pier to the tiki boat. Dining here on a Sunday night past Labor Day offered a quiet evening to enjoy the views and outdoors. They have a lot of seating capacity so I imagine this place can get busy during the summer high season. Noise level could get high, but our outdoor dining experience allowed for quiet conversation without having to yell at one another while dining. Definitely a plus for anyone who enjoys their dining companion's conversational skills or those with hearing challenges. The server was pleasant, but she did not exude welcome friendliness. She did her job. Was efficient. Many of the servers we not smiling or appeared tired looking. Understandable. Post-Covid servers are definitely under more stress than previously. Service was quick and efficient though from the server, the runners and the bar. There are limited vegetarian options: vegetarian wrap, vegetarian quesadillas, a vegetarian primavera. Unsure if the cheese used in those options are truly vegetarian or if they contain animal rennet. Likely no vegan options and not sure how the kitchen would handle customizing food. Also, not sure if the fries are cooked separately from the fried seafood/meats limiting cross-contamination so ask or avoid. The vegetarian options we selected were good and the portion sizes were acceptable. Fager's Island also owns the Bad Monkey Bar & Grill. Some of the staff were wearing those shirts as a way to cross promote. The message on the shirts contain the slogan used as a political profanity substitute, "let's go Brandon." The owner's political stance has the unintended (hopefully, its unintended) consequence to thumb his nose at patrons who may not feel comfortable with such an in-your-face irreverence at their dining location. As for selecting this location for an event, it's a gorgeous location but the unintended alignment with such a polarizing political stance is a big no. Unless you are absolutely sure that your group leans towards that belief, it is too risky to alienate your constituents to select this event location. Instead, find a location that embraces providing your event with exceptional food, amazing service and gorgeous views instead of bringing politics into the mix. Then, you can just visit Fager's for a drink by yourself to watch the sunset over the Bay.

Yelp
The restaurant has always been our favorite when we are in town. Chef Jim Hughes from northern Italy is a bit new with only two years with Fager's; his culinary skills are excellent. We got a bit of a cold reception when we arrived. The hostess greeted us like we were something the cat dragged in. Hostess #1 acted like she really didn't want us to be there. We asked for fine dining and she told us that we needed reservations. Hostess #2 took over and we were seated in moments. We didn't make reservations because it was off season. That's why we showed up early at 5 pm as soon as the resaurant opened. The fine dining was above the bar. The atmosphere was much quieter and nicer. The service was great, and our server Bradford was very nice. The price was on the high end. Fresh oven baked bread and cold tub butter were served. 4*Long Island tea: made just right. 5* Foie Gras: was so tender and tasty , it literally melted on your tongue. 4*Chilean Sea bass broiled with plum sesame glaze accompanied by a jumbo prawn, Thai basmati rice: it is my favorite dish. The portion was cut in half but the sea bass was cooked as good as ever, very tender and tasty. The prawn was good, too. The rice was not up to par, and the sauce was on the sweet side. 4*New York strip: well cooked, flavorful, the blue cheese crust makes this dish a favorite. String beans and mashed potatoes did not distract from the quality of the dish, although they did not match the steak. 5*Lemon lust: our favorite dessert, I loved the crust on the bottom. The portion was big, and lots of calories.

Yelp
Bartender stole my credit card information from here. Only place I used the card. Charged $1700 flight tickets.

Yelp
Love this local place tucked away on the bay side of OC. Decided to order their French onion soup to start, which is always on the menu, and an excellent choice. Previously, I have ordered the prime rib dinner, which is fabulous, but tonight I went for something lighter - the powerhouse wrap. It's a veggie wrap with a garlic mayo that hit the spot and filled me up. I also managed to sneak a few bites of the hubby's creme brûlée... should have ordered one of my own. Definitely recommend you look this place up and find one of your new favorite places for dinner.

Yelp
Very disappointed in our meal tonight. I had the $49 Chilean Sea Bass that tasted like it came right out of a freezer..very fishy and dry. My son and husband had the duck which they said is much better at Nantucket's and The Hobbit. Our creme brulee was stodgy and burnt on top. Even my cappuccino was not good. Definitely overpriced for the quality of the food. Would not go back.
