Huge improvement over Henhouse, a great addition to Fairfax to fill the void left by Iron Springs.
I actually find the Town and Country and Liquid Sunshine IPAs more favorable to my pallet than any IPA I had from Iron Springs.
As far as food, really appreciative that every brewpub needs a solid burger and wings. The burger is super tasty and grilled just right, the best thing I've had on the menu so far. The wings however are too big with lots of chewy skin. The wings at Flat Iron are much better, crispy and smaller delivering more sauce per bite!
The chicken sandwich is solid, but I'd give th nod to Stillwater as the best one in town with their hot honey!
On other apps, the whipped feta is interesting, but falls a little flat, like cream cheese on toast. Needs everything bagel, season salt, or something. The nachos are ok, for $22 with meat they need something like melted queso to kick it up a notch. The meatballs are ok, every Italian restaurant in town has better ones, they need some more egg at the very least to hold them together. The garlic parm fires are tasty, but second in town to the Stillwater duck fat fries that are thicker and always fried just right!
Both the Caesar and El Centro street salad are delicious (added chicken).
The atmosphere inside and out is top notch! This is the comfiest bar I have sat at and seeing into the kitchen is a nice reassuring touch, it's clean and they are hustling back there!
