"Owner Solita Adler, who hails from the Pampanga region of the Philippines, began serving dishes from her homeland in this Seven Corners diner in 2008. Breakfast entrees like rellenong talong, an eggplant and pork omelet that’s difficult to find, are an indication of how important the meal is in Filipino cuisine. Fairfax Inn is open for breakfast and lunch daily." - Pat Padua, Tierney Plumb

Google
I've dined here a couple of times, and each time, the food portions were generous and comforting; their lumpia is the biggest I've seen. This place is decorated with many objects reminiscent of the Philippines, and they provide friendly service. Last time, I bought some desserts to take home, and everyone loved Ube Cheese Pandesal out of everything I got.

Stopped here twice, first is for brunch. Friendly staff and good food. Second was to buy takeaways for our trip back home to NC. The deserts esp the bibingka brings back memories from childhood in the PI. Nothing special about the location or interior decor, but you don’t go to a Filipino restaurant for that reason rather the food which is beyond expectations. The lechon kawali has good crunch, flavorful tapa, and delicious releno torta. The coffee is on the weaker and water down, but perhaps I’m just used to espresso. Anyways, we’re already planning on returning.

I like how low key Fairfax Inn Restaurant is and it felt homey, like eating at an Aunty's house. I can cook pretty much anything on their Filipino menu, but sometimes I don't feel like cooking and they could probably do it better...haha. I went here for the first time over the weekend because I was craving tocino. So I ordered the tosilog (tocino, garlic fried rice, eggs which you can choose the way you want them cooked, I got sunny side up eggs). It was pretty good! I'm guessing the tocino is homemade. I wish it came with a side of tomato and onion but all good, I still enjoyed my meal. I was tempted to also order dinuguaan, but I knew I would be too full. My husband ordered the bistek and he said it was better than his parents' bistek. I actually ate his leftover sabao/sauce with white rice..so yummy. They have other popular Filipino dishes on their menu like chicken adobo, sinigang, pancit mami (soup), fried and fresh lumpia, turon (banana egg roll). I ordered halo halo for my dessert. It was pretty good and I'm glad they don't serve it in a humongous styrofoam cup. It was a perfect size. Halo halo is basically the Filipino version of bing soo but tastes way better because it has additional toppings like red bean, coconut gel, macapuno, ube ice cream, and leche flan. I wish they used the Hawaiian shave ice so the ice is softer as there were bits of ice...it was fine though because I still enjoyed my halo halo regardless. I noticed they had bibingka for sale and wish I bought one! It looks like there's American food as I noticed on the board they had things like fish sandwiches and I think steak. Service was quick and they checked up on us. I will definitely will be back when I want my Filipino food fix and don't feel like cooking. If you're looking for Filipino fusion like sisig burritos and ube pancakes, you need to go to DC for that. But if you are craving traditional Filipino dishes, you won't be disappointed!

Google
Fairfax Inn serves Filipino and American food. The lechon kawali (crispy pork belly) had a nice crackle (but maybe was a bit overdone). The palabok was disappointing though…too much sauce but not enough toppings. Where was the hard boiled egg slices and the shrimp? The interior was homey but well worn and tired looking. I think you could easily find better Filipino food elsewhere.

Google
Way too overpriced and my sister said to the lady, I will like to order lumpiang sariwa, and the lady said with a not so nice voice, did you place your order? Are you kidding me, that’s why I was telling you. You could have said it nicely. We did not order and left. I have been to other Filipino restaurant and the service/people were so much nicer.

Google
Disappointed. Overpriced, overhyped, and always “running out of food.” I have wanted to go to Fairfax Inn for a long time. I hyped it up to my family and friends, excited to have another Filipino restaurant in the area since there is not a lot in Northern Virginia. However, when we went there on a weekday morning, it wasn't easy to find parking. Once we did find parking, the service wasn't the best. They were not welcoming, we weren’t presented with greetings, nor did they seem excited to serve us. This saddened us because they seemed friendlier to other customers. We ordered breakfast, lunch, and dessert items from the menu. The cassava cake I ordered was warm and good. The rest of our food was missing some things, and when I asked where they were, the server said they ran out. After eating the mediocre food they served us, I tried to order food to bring home to my parents. We’re Filipino, and I knew they’d appreciate Filipino food since they also wanted to try Fairfax Inn. But lo and behold, they also ran out of the specific items I requested and even seemed angry when I asked. I’m not sure what’s going on with this establishment or where the hype even began, but trust me when I say this: it is not worth the drive; take your money elsewhere or buy some ingredients for Filipino dishes you’re craving because I can guarantee that what you make will taste better than what they offered us. In conclusion, they frequently run out of food and are unfriendly, matching the lack of taste and atmosphere. Not worth the visit.

Google
took my whole family here and each one of us wasn’t happy with our food. tapsilog, fried rice was too hard as if it was an old fried rice that was fried again. the tapa was way too tough and way too dry. The lechon kawali was fried too long and it was so dry. way too overpriced for the very small portion. daing was fried too long couldn’t even taste the marinated fish. Fresh lumpia was filled with chickpeas which I didn’t think it should be in the fresh lumpia, the potatoes in it was dark it don’t look fresh at all. There was hardly meat in it. Palabok was cold, didn’t have the egg, noodles was overdone, and the sauce wasn’t fresh. Bistek tagalog was cold tasted fine but way too overpriced for the small portion. Overall, we came out hungry 😂 Way too OVERPRICED. And OVERHYPED. My youngest is 8 years old and said we should write our review 😂 WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL

Google
Delicious Filipino breakfast! We ordered longsilog and Tocilog—both were simple and authentic. Will have to come back to try lunch another time.

Holly A.

Yelp
The restaurant was small and cozy with a diner like vibe. The service was decent. Prices were a bit more than expected for what you get. I got their tapas breakfast. The eggs were alright, the steak was pretty good! My favorite thing there so far. I enjoyed the sauce on the steak. The rice was a bit lackluster. It was pretty dry, didn't have the garlic taste and didn't seem fresh. Would go back again, but would like to maybe try something different.

Kumi K.

Yelp
Set up like a diner, my friend and I went for breakfast on Sunday morning. It was pretty empty which was fine with me but customers started filing in a bit later. Plenty of parking which I really appreciated. I ordered the Tapa with garlic rice and asked for scrambled eggs. Meal was good, not sure I'd pay $15 for something like that but I do support small businesses owned and run by POC. My friend got the milk fish and I sampled it, pretty good, but again, $15 for that size of a meal is not really up my alley. I get inflation has affected everyone so maybe I'll come again for lunch or dinner.

Yelp
Wow a homemade delicious Filipino breakfast place! Tocino and Bangus and longganisa etc! With egg and garlic rice. You wouldn't tell by the name of this place and location in a hotel but we heard from others about this place. I got the tocino and my wife got the longganisa. It was good and I like using a lot of the Filipino vinegar. Both meats tasted good. Kids got the pancakes and bacon which were good too. Service was good. The prices are a bit high I think considering you can probably make it at home but good luck finding the ingredients to do so. And the portions could have been a bit bigger. All in all, it was a satisfying Filipino breakfast!

Cristina T.

Yelp
Always great! Normally only go for breakfast and it really takes me home. Garlic fried rice and tocino?! Heck yes thanks. Really has a homey feel to the place. Always welcoming and the staff is great. I love the canned Calamansi juice they serve here and all the dishes we have had have been that authentic taste. Great parking! Make sure to use the vinegar sauce!

Yelp
My brother and I went to check out what hype was all about. As you pulled up, there's plenty of parking but seating wasn't. There's about 7 actual tables and approximately 10 stools in front of the counter. It's a very tight Mama and Papa diner that shares building spaces with other businesses. The restroom is separate from the restaurant which requires a key hanging on left wall before you exit the side door. The photos of Filipino dishes looks delicious and there's plenty of selections from breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert. There's also some specialty shakes. We order 1) Tapa which is cured and marinated beef sirloin slices served with your choice of eggs and garlic rice. The beef slices were cut very thin, it was delicious and sweet. The garlic rice was a little dry 2) Tocino which is a cured and marinated pork tenderloin slices served with your choice of eggs and garlic rice. Again the garlic rice was a little dried 3) Fried vegetables lumpia was crispy but bland. The lumpia was stuffed with carrots, green beans and slice taro which comes out with 5 pieces. The staff was friendly.

Yelp
This local family owned restaurant serves your traditional American diner food but for your Filipino food cravings come check them out as well. The portions may have been lesser than when I last ate here more than a decade ago but that's the effect of inflation for you I guess. I wish their fares came with Filipino atchara (pickled papaya).

Vince O.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant for some home cooked Silog!! Highly recommend Tocino, eggplant, and mungo! Halo halo is excellent as well

Kathleen K.

Yelp
2/24/'24 - we tried their Filipino breakfast menu. Impression-wise, both dishes tasted very homey so it might be on the slightly pricier side (not uncommon in NOVA). Loved the sunny-side eggs with the fried rice and I'd recommend the Tocino over the fish option. They also have Filipino snacks and dessert inside which I do not see often in this area. It's not very spacious inside - max party of 4 per table.

Nina N.

Yelp
Ambience - Quiet, clean, peaceful Service - Average, slightly unwelcoming Food - Average, I got Lechon and Longanisa. I thought the Longanisa would be more flavorful. Two orders and one diet coke came out to $34.84 w/o tip. Would not come back, but good experience!

Hunter B.

Yelp
The place was small, with about as much counter seating as tables. The service there was really slow and there were 2 menus- American and Filipino. I ordered off the Filipino menu the breakfast with Longsilog. The meat was great and the rice and eggs were ok. The coffee was decent as well. Probably fine for takeout again but I do not think I will go back again.

Katie P.

Yelp
Mom & pop diner that is off the beaten path (it's in the same building as medical clinic/offices). I came here many years ago and had their filipino breakfast. Woke up over the weekend wanting to come to this exact spot once again. Nothing has changed, in a good way. I love the TOCILOG (tocino, sinangag, itlog) means tocino (marinated pork, sweet taste), garlic rice, and 2 eggs (sunny side up please). The dish is now $15 for the plate -- in my opinion, it's still worth it.

Yaran S.

Yelp
Wow my first Philippine brunch experience was great thanks to my philippino friend. This place is a tiny diner hidden in a hotel and I would never come here myself. All the entries were delicious. We loved the pork, sausages and eggplant omelet. Fried rice was also tasty. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the drink. Personally I prefer bubble tea much better.

Stacy S.

Yelp
The food is always great and the service is wonderful. This is my go-to breakfast spot in the area.

David H.

Yelp
3.5 stars, Decent meal at Fairfax inn, not my favorite Filipino (this is usually at someone's home), but it satisfied a craving for a Filipino breakfast. Longanisa was good, garlic rice was good. The steak was also pretty good. Lechon wasn't my favorite - too crispy/over fried, same with the lumpia. The mango milkshake was delicious. They don't make the longanisa in house so you can do this at home. The corned beef was probably my favorite. Service is good and we didn't have to wait much. All around decent meal.

Su T.

Yelp
Perfect Filipino diner, with the aunties taking care of you! Small containers of vinegar with chunks of fresh garlic on every table, banana sauce upon request, and yummy baked sweet treats in containers to go (I don't know what these treats are but they're all very good!) We always get the breakfast dishes.

Christine H.

Yelp
Fairfax Inn Restaurant is an unassuming Filipino diner that has been around for a while. I really love the homey vibe and flavors, and return to my favorites every time I dine here. - Food 5/5 I don't know where else I can find fresh lumpia (5/5) but this dish is divine (and hard to recreate). The balance between the sweetness of the sauce, thin crepe, and vegetables/meat stir fry is lovely and well worth the wait. (Tip: Be sure to ask for banana ketchup and the vinegary hot sauce which helps cut the flavors). The Tocino Breakfast (4.5/5) and the Longanisa Breakfast (4/5) were both delicious and I really think the Garlic Fried Rice (5/5) should have a rating on its own. Each bite is packed with fresh garlicky flavor and I almost ordered another bowl just to experience more of the heavenliness. Pancit Palabok (4.5/5) is packed with flavor too. Rich and hearty yet with a touch of delicateness. - Service 4/5 The aunties here are super busy and it's hard to get their attention. Nonetheless, they are quick to accommodate when they see you and it adds to the neighborhood-diner like vibe. - Cleanliness 5/5 - They have blocked off bar seating and wipe down each menu after use. With double masks, hairnets, sanitizers, gloves, and Windex, I don't know what more they can do. - Ambiance 5/5 - This place doesn't pretend like it's something that it's not. Sure, DC has fancier Filipino places and that too has a place in the dining scene. But an old-school diner with hints of Filipino and Catholic imagery throughout the diner, you're transported to a bit of old school charm to eat mid-day comfort food.

Yelp
4.5 stars for breakfast! On Saturday morning at 8am, there was no waiting for a table! Great little intimate place with loads of sunshine. Superb Coffee, eggs cooked to perfection, ham done just right, toast & cottage fries. Service wonderful! Eat here, the breakfast menu is great

Carina A.

Yelp
2 star because the price is way expensive for the amount of food they give. It taste good but food wasn't that hot or warm.. fried rice was not fresh.. halo halo was loaded with ice and taste like chlorine.. the crispy pata was super disappointing it was overcooked, dry it's like chitcharong baboy they give us 10 tiny slice with rice for $14.00 all fat no meat! Yes they serve a free water in the glass but it's tap water and it tastes bad.. overall we will not going back anymore.. very disappointed

Carl C.

Yelp
Decent menu offerings for Filipino cuisine at the Fairfax Inn. Their service is okay (plenty of "aunties" here), but it can definitely be greatly improved. Wanted a table with already available seating either outside and inside, but they restricted individuals to the counter. No room for the Inn, I guess! With one cook/chef at the helm for Sunday brunch time, the flow could also be improved. Although my food was ready (I could clearly see it), my waitress didn't check, but said it would be ready soon. Sigh. Ordered the hearty morning breakfast with tocino and eggs, which was slightly lukewarm with calamansi juice. Some sliced tocino were cooked a bit too crispy. Dessert was fine. Standard Halo-halo that satisfied my sweet tooth. A plus, they use a wireless POS system which makes it easier and quicker for turnaround.

Mike E.

Yelp
Great customer service everyone was friendly an accomadating. I had Chicken Adobo and Garlic Rice for the first time. Loved it. I will definitely go back.

Priscilla T.

Yelp
Got a Tosilog with garlic rice and egg and Lumpia take-out. Everything was delicious and filling! One of the more authentic local Filipino restaurants in the area. Would definitely come back when I have the craving!!

Cyndy K.

Yelp
Cyndy's Bottom Line: Best Filipino breakfast in Northern Virginia! Post COVID 19 review. *Masks are worn, sanitizer at each table, social distancing in place. *Dining in is available and take out. *A must order: Ube cheese pandesal The ube cheese pandesal is divine! You can't just eat one. *CyndyTip: Buy a box to take home you will be happy you did! What is pandesal - you ask? It is a Filipino bread roll. What is ube? Ube = purple yam. Combine them together with cheese in the center makes for an amazing delicious, scrumptious bread roll. It is so good with a cup of coffee. Stopped in for a take out breakfast of longanisa sausage, garlic fried rice and eggs. So flavorful and delicious with every bite. The longanisa sausage is so tasty and dipped in vinegar makes for a yummy bite. The garlic fried rice is ever so tasty and the eggs are cooked perfectly. Always great friendly service!

Yelp
This restaurant had a 1950s vibe going on. I quite liked it. It's a bit small but seems like the perfect size for what it is. The cook and the owner (I presume?) were so kind and funny. There were two different menus: one with Filipino food and one with American classic food. I opted for the Filipino food since that's what I went there for. I was so happy to read that they served Filipino breakfast all day and cooked garlic fried rice. I was too excited because it had been years since I had some. Their Filipino breakfast choices can come with milkfish, tocino, corned beef, eggplant, tapa, and ground beef. I got the milkfish one and it was delish! They also cook: -lechon kawali (tiny portion with rice, but accumulatively it was the right amount and tasted perfect!) -pork adobo (not the sweet kind and oh so slightly tangy, but good!) -arroz caldo (watery and abundant; some like it watery, some like it thick.. it was alright to me) -stuffed shrimp lumpia (I had never had this before but it was alright for what it was) -mungo, bistek, lumpiang Shanghai, fresh lumpia, embutido, pancit, dinuguan, halo-halo, leche flan, cassava, turon, etc. This is one of the better Filipino restaurants in the region in my opinion.

Lulu P.

Yelp
Been wanting to try this Filipino diner since I moved to NoVa 4 years ago. Friends tell me this place is hard to get to but I didn't realized you have to go through the most confusing intersection in all of America. I missed the turn twice and was getting annoyed from all the mid day traffic but persevered for the sake of avocado shake. I got there around 11:30, place was empty so I was seated right away and given the Filipino menu. Took me a while to pick lunch... just too many good dishes to order but I eventually settled for pork sinigang, tocino, eggs over medium with rice and avocado shake. Order was served in 15 minutes, the tocino tasted homemade best I've had hands down. Eggs were done perfect and rice is of good quality. The sinigang is my fav, I loved the balance between sour and saltiness of the broth. Pork was tender, mostly meat than fat which kept the soup from being too greasy. I wish they added more greens though. The shake was so so, I don't think I would order again. It could use more avocado and blending to be a perfect shake for my tastebuds. Trying lechon kawali and fresh lumpia on my next visit, when I get over my PTSD over the nightmare of an intersection.

Brandon P.

Yelp
My first time trying Filipino food and was very impressed. I got a pork adobo with garlic rice and it was delicious. The staff was also very friendly to me when taking my order There aren't many Filipino places in this area so I'm glad I live close by. I definitely plan to come back to try their other food. Highly recommend

Yelp
Occasion: Casual group lunch Food: - Fresh Lumpia: I saw "lumpia" and assumed it was the egg rolls, and didn't notice that the other lumpia dishes specifically described them as egg rolls and this one didn't. That's my bad for not reading the descriptions closely enough. It's basically a crepe stuffed with a stir fry of pork and shrimp (which we didn't taste), with fresh lettuce and maybe other veggies. It wasn't bad, just not what I expected. They're big so we were able to split the order, which comes with two, into six bite sized pieces so everyone could try. The sauce was decent and I needed the fresh veggies because none of the other dishes have veggies so I can't say I didn't like it. :) - Adobo (Chicken): Was room temperature and dry. - Lechon Kawali: Best dish of the batch. The lechon was very crispy and a bit addicting. The dipping sauce was slightly sweet. Really liked this dish. - Bistek Tagalog: Salty and dry. - Garlic Rice: Each of the entrees came with a side of rice and you can pick white rice or garlic rice. The garlic rice just okay but it provided a good balance for the salty dishes. Service: We had a group of six and there are no tables that'll sit six people inside, so we sat outside. There's a stand in the middle of the table for an umbrella, and no actual umbrella, but the shade from the building was enough for most of us except the two sitting on the side. It took us about 40 mins to get our food. We wanted to order more Lechon and also try the halo but didn't want to risk another long wait. Cleanliness: Out of the six original sets of utensils, two of ours had forks with dried leftover egg yolk on it. We notified the waitress and she replaced them. My second set (and I'm assuming my friend's second set) were fine. But it really ruined my appetite. Overall: I was really disappointed. I've been to places with not great service, places that weren't super clean, and places that had food that wasn't spectacular. But it's been awhile since I've been to a place that was all three, and I think the worse feeling is that I really wanted to support this business but I wouldn't be able to even force myself, and definitely never invite anymore friends, to try it again.

Casey Lyn B.

Yelp
CUSTOMER SERVICE: I was expecting a very welcoming atmosphere because, with me being Filipino myself, I know Filipinos tend to be friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately it just seemed like a typical restaurant. Had okay service. The time we came in, it wasn't busy at all. FOOD: I went with my family and we ordered the Carne Norte, Sinigang, Tosilog, Bangus, and Arroz Caldo. Every dish was delicious! It seemed pretty authentic to me. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want to try authentic Filipino food!

Genesis D.

Yelp
Nothing special which makes it very special! I'd totally go here regularly if I lived nearby. I got the daing na bangus Hubs got tapsilog Friends got tocilog Good stuff!

Alan L.

Yelp
I come here once every month. Get the tocino or lechon. Both are delicious and you won't regret it. Had the steak too but that was okay. Get the garlic fries rice instead of the white. The lumpia comes with a lot and could feed three people. All dishes usually come with rice or egg. A lot of basic breakfast and lunch dishes here like sandwiches and wraps also but I enjoy the Filipino dishes most.

Sandy H.

Yelp
Fairfax Inn is cozy little hole in the wall type place that serves up authentic Filipino dishes for a reasonable price. Their menu is pretty limited and simple, but I like that. Disclaimer: I've also only ever had their breakfast the few times I've been here because I just can't get away from the opportunity to eat Filipino breakfast at 2pm. The longanisa and tocino with garlic rice and sunny side up eggs are my favorites. Mix the runny eggs into your garlic rice and dip the longanisa/tocino (both a sweet sausage) into the vinegar and let me tell you, it is so good! The ladies running the shop are super sweet and always cheerful. They also have a small American menu, but come here for the Filipino food!

Maria F.

Yelp
A simple diner with good Filipino food. Offers American breakfast and sandwiches as well. Friendly staff. It's a bit pricey but not too bad. I would recommend the Filipino breakfast platters. Traditional/classic Filipino taste.

Lyn L.

Yelp
Oh boy, this is a hard one to review. I'd had my 'eye' and stomach cravings on Fairfax Inn for years! The reviews are mixed. Thanks to the backroads directions of Waze, we found Fairfax Inn located on the ground level of what appeared to be a medical building. They are located near Seven Corners hidden off Sleepy Hollow. We snagged a nice table at the window. Service was casual and we were given breakfast menus(American and Filipino). We did not know they offered an American Lunch menu. The hubby ended up ordering a sandwich off their specials board. I ordered a few items off the Filipino menu: Fresh Lumpia, Shanghai lumpias, Loonganesa platter. The shanghai were ok, not my mamma's flavor, but ok. The plate came with about 10-12 half pieces for approx $10. The Fresh lumpia(they inform you it takes 20 min to make) was $12 for 2 pieces. It was good. Next time I will most likely exclude the sauce. They pour a lot of sauce and I'm not a sauce person. The loonganesa(sweet sausage) platter came with 2 eggs, and garlic fried rice. I'm not sure if we came too late in the morning but the garlic rice tasted old and stale. They slice the sausages down the middle and it came with 3-4 pieces. This was a $10 dish. Everything was ok. I probably wouldn't drive out to Seven Corners but I'm glad that I can cross it off my 'bookmark' list.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Man, oh, man am I going to miss this place. We're moving out of the area but needed to squeeze in one more delicious Filipino breakfast before we left. Tapa for me, Tocino for him. Scrambled for me, over easy for him, both with the amazing, amazing garlic rice. Breakfast at the Fairfax Inn has been a standard for us for the past 13 years. A weekend treat every few months, and the "you gotta try this" place that we'd take out of town guests. Simple, friendly, no frills, fantastic food. Now I'm left to only regret that we didn't have breakfast there more often, and we never ventured in for lunch or dinner. This place is an absolute local gem.

Steve A.

Yelp
Great owner and I love visiting, but the food has suffered greatly from the past. I ordered the Lumpia Shanghai and Pancit. The Lumpia was good, but it is not as good as my own and thats not good. Plus, way too expensive for the size and quality. The pancit, which is suppose to be the pride of any Pilipino is the motivation for this review. It was horrible! Maybe to a novice, it would be ok, but to someone who has eaten pancit from Manila, to Cebu, to NYC and Balston, California and plenty of Philipino home parties, this was not even close to good. The chicken or other meat was old and chewy, the overall taste was unrecognizable and extremely salty. Even my wife who is middle eastern made pancit for the first time from an online recipe and it was way better. All in all, I love to visit and will stick to breakfast only, but for Philipino food, it is too poor quality and way, way too expensive. I hope they greatly improve the quality because for the price it should be better than home made.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
I had been looking forward to some great Filipino food, going by the Yelp reviews, but I was disappointed. I ordered Pork Adobo which I have always had with a light vinegar sauce (as it was pictured on the menu), but it came with a dark, thick gravy that looked more like Dinuguan which I dislike. I tried to eat it, but it was way too salty. The waitress noticed I hadn't eaten much and asked why. I said it was too salty and I wasn't expecting thick dark gravy on pork adobo plus it didn't look like the picture on the menu. She said that was the way they served it and walked away. My friend had the Longsilog and specifically asked for eggs over easy, and repeated it for the waitress, but the eggs were sunny side up. The Longsilog and Garlic Rice were pretty good. The service was very slow and it wasn't at all crowded. We were seated by the opening to the kitchen so we heard and saw when our order was ready, but our waitress wasn't anywhere in sight. When she finally reappeared it was a while before she brought the order to us. Needless to say it had cooled quite a bit by the time we got it. Overall the visit was a big disappointment.

Mary H.

Yelp
I was teetering on 3.5 to 4 stars... I was craving a "Filipino" breakfast so this place seemed to have decent reviews. I guess it's not hard to ruin it unless you burn it? *longsilog, the sausage was sweet, fried eggs and garlic rice was good. Just the right amount food and not too greasy. *american breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes looked good and my husband was very pleased with his choice. I guess the only thing I wasn't too pleased with was the amount of time our food came to our table. My husband's breakfast came out 15 minutes before mine. I felt like I was eating alone. But it wasn't a deal breaker... for us. Service was friendly, the place had this diner type feel but... a little odd seeing checkered table clothes and out comes Filipino food, feng shui?

Yelp
Here's what you're getting: authentic Filipino food in a casual setting I love this place because their pork sinigang is delicious, and so is the daing na bangus. Two of my favorite dishes! The lumpia Shanghai is good, but of course I'm biased to my mom's version. I took a friend who had never had Filipino food and she enjoyed the lumpia Shanghai and cleared her lumpia sariwa so fast I couldn't even ask for a taste, must come back for that! It's one of those spots that makes it easy to order Filipino food without having to do the fancy sit down like it's DC competition. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. But for those less adventurous, this is also just another diner, where you can get your diner staples.

Yelp
I would give this place 3.5 stars. I did not know this local restaurant existed until recently and was excited to try it out. It is located in an office building off the busy intersection at Seven Corners. The classic diner setting gives this place a low key feeling. The service was friendly. However, the food did not meet my expectations. The pork in the lechon kawali was a bit dry and the garlic fried rice was bland. The fried stuff shrimp lumpia was crispy but nothing exceptional. The halo-halo was fun to try but had too many flavors going on for me to fully enjoy.

Yelp
I was surprised to find this little diner was a Filipino restaurant. I heard about this place from friends and was curious to try it out one Sunday morning. It wasn't too busy when we got here. It is confusing to find and it attached to a medical center. It is a pretty small diner and reminds me of mom and pop places. If you are looking for a cozy vibe where you can enjoy a low-key meal then this place is for you. It has Filipino decor throughout while also sporting support for DC sports. My friends and I were very excited for some Filipino food. I tried the lechon kawali and tocino. I really liked their tocino with rice and eggs. For those that don't know, tocino is a Filipino breakfast sausage and is a little on the sweet side. I haven't been able to enjoy feeling like my mom cooked my breakfast in a while. They also had a side of banana ketchup. They also had many other Filipino dishes to choose from such as tapa, adobo, etc. They also have regular American dishes as well. They also have several beverages that you probably would find in a Filipino or Asian supermarket available. The diner is right by Eden Center so my friends and I were able to run some errands after. All in all, I recommend checking this cute diner out.

Yelp
I absolutely love this restaurant! It's a Filipino restaurant that also offers American breakfast items, but really specializes in Filipino breakfasts and dishes. I really like the longanisa and tapa breakfast. The meat is super flavorful and the garlic rice is delicious served with sunny-side-up eggs! The ladies running the restaurant are super sweet and always make delicious food. Can't recommend this place enough!

Yelp
As a Filipino DC transplant from California, this is the closest restaurant that reminds me of home cooking. There is a no-shrill, cozy diner. The ladies are all extremely nice and the food is extremely close to home-tasting especially if you can't coin this stuff at home yourself. Highly recommend the tocilog!

Yelp
I wish I could tell you about the food, but I couldn't even get that far. I'm a local and Filipino, so I wanted to give The Fairfax Inn a shot. I heard many raving reviews about their food and it was the day before my mother's birthday, so I figured I can go in, check out the menu and figure out if that should be where we buy our mother's birthday meal (by either taking her there or catering- I hadn't decided yet). My mom would appreciate tasting a bit of home without having to cook it herself. We're a HUGE family because (well... hello) Filipinos are big fans of procreating so we all preferred to just buy the meal instead of spending hours making it. Upon walking in, it almost felt uncomfortable. You can tell that the customers who were already sitting (it's a small place so you can see everyone there) are regulars judging by the level of familiarity they had with the wait staff. I knew they were closing soon but I thought since I was ONLY checking out the menu, it would be a quick stop. Well, I took no more than two steps in and it was a pocket full of "get the hell out of here" from them. No, they didn't say that but they did shout an emphatic "WE'RE CLOSED" at my 8month pregnant self. I felt pretty humiliated at that point and muttered an "im sorry" as I walked out. It wasn't until I got in to the car (before shedding some serious tears because again- I was super pregnant) that I realized there was still 15minutes until the posted close time. So why were they eager to kick me out? The faces from everyone in the room were a combination of irritation and apathy. The people behind the counter gave an expectant attitude as if I didn't belong. I suppose I wasn't the only person to experience this. It was just awful and I guess they don't care for new business. You betcha that I can't even stomach walking in here again. Sorry!

Yelp
Asian breakfast Filipino style!Absolutely delicious. Get the Tocilog with garlic rice and a runny egg. When the egg yolk mixes with the garlic rice and you mix in delicious pork, you will be in heaven! You can thank me afterwards.

Yelp
There aren't a ton of filipino restaurants in the area so when we stumbled upon this place, we had high hopes. Located in the area with the medical buildings off Sleepy Hollow Road and near the storage place. The inside isn't the most pretty restaurant (old school breakfast like) and it's located near a sketchy pharmacy, but the food, HOLY COW! I'll be a regular here from now on! We got the lechon, tocino, flan, shanghai rolls, and 2+2+2. Everything was delicious but the tocino was my favorite. There's a a lot of regular breakfast food here if you aren't craving filipino dishes like the normal pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, and sausage. I'll be coming back just to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Love that I found another Filipino spot to go to! The place is fairly small, and it's kinda in a diner/Waffle house setting. We were greeted once we walked in the door and staff was super friendly. My friend and I ordered tapsilog, tocilog and lechon kawali. Along with your meat, it comes with garlic and eggs that are cooked to your liking. Very tasty and just so darn good. Definitely would love to come back and try more items.

Yelp
I have tried the adobo pork, the lechon, sinigang na hipon, longsilog, pancit palabok... of these, I can honestly say that there was nothing of these that I liked. I enjoyed none of them. One dish was too salty, one was too sweet, one was too sour, etc. There was a lack of balance and the spices/herbs were not in sync. I'm an Asian foods expert but I'm not an expert on Filipino food, but if this place is the exemplar for what Philippine food tastes like... then I am not a fan.

Yelp
Filipino food for breakfast!!!!! It doesn't get much better for a Filipina who doesn't get any form of Filipino food anymore living in Rhode island. The restaurant was tiny with a little bar and about 5 tables with baked goods for sale at the end. The tables had exactly what you needed on it, I didn't even need to ask for anything especially with the delicious vinegar that I pretty much poured over everything since it reminds me of my grandmas. The menu wasn't extensive but there were plenty of options. I tried the taga this time because I never had it with garlic rice and eggs scrambled soft with cheese. It was Soo good and satisfying, half way through our meal my friend and I decided to make this our spot whenever I come to town. The service was just as good, she was attentive and happy and kept my coffee full the whole time. I can't wait til I come back down

Yelp
This is a great casual diner that has both Filipino food and traditional American diner fare. I've been twice and each time was given the Filipino menu but I'm sure they would offer the American one if I asked. The tapsilog was great but the garlic rice was truly the cherry on top. I've also ordered the rellenong talong and will definitely make that my regular order. Additionally, there is sometimes an assortment of baked goods (ex. ube cheese pandesal) that are available for purchase. It's a little small and dated, but I'd come back no problem.

Yelp
This place is so authentic that you feel like you are walking into your Filipino aunt's home right when you enter the restaurant. Upon entering, I was warmly greeted by three short lovely Filipino ladies, who all resemble my Titas (aunts). This is the place I've been looking for - cheap eats but still tasty! No frills type of place but who needs it when you've got bomb ass beef tapa and garlic rice?! I would've given 5 stars but they have limited opening hours so make sure you plan accordingly.

Yelp
Cute, simple, and healthy. I find this as a great alternative to fast food, since I got my food in less than 10 minutes. It is a bit pricier than fast food though, but just by $2.00 or so. I looked at both the American menu and the Filipino menu. They had a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The filipino menu looked good, and I am considering trying them out for breakfast. Now lets get to what I can personally review on. I ordered the chicken breast sandwich on wheat bread, that comes with a side order of fries or coleslaw; I went for the fries. When I got back to the office and took my first bite I felt like I was biting into one of my mom's homemade sandwiches; the chicken was real, not smothered in grease/butter like the usual. The sandwich was light but filling and did not give me the afternoon zzz's. Great option if you are trying to eat healthy and have energy flr the rest of your busy day. I had half the sanwich and half the portion of fries which were fresh and crunch at the ends. I highly recommend this place if you are running errands or work around here. It is one of the better lunch options in my opinion. The staff was nice and quick to serve. The restaurant is a bit outdated, but I appreciate it because it makes it feel more homey
