This little hidden gem is tucked into one of the adorable Grosse Pointe Park neighborhoods. They host a variety of grocery items, candy, libations, and a deli with sandwiches to die for. The staff welcomed us as we entered the store, engaged us in conversation, and even took selfies with us. 10/10 neighborhood store!!

These guys are amazing! It’s like Muillers but so much better. Do your staples at Aldi, Kroger or TJ’s. Get your meat at a proper counter. Fairfax is the best in GP!

My family is loving the return of this market in new hands. They have a quality selection of meat, prepared meals, snacks, and produce, with good prices. This is a perfect spot in the neighborhood to get something for dinner.

Came in for lunch and was treated poorly by upper level employees. I wanted to purchase 4 chicken sandwiches and a few pounds of chicken tenders. When I requested a few pounds as every market sells I was talked to like I was a bum begging for food the chef was rude and would only cook them as max 6 tenders and fries. Id realized that it would be cheaper at farms market or village market, park place (or any other Grosse Pointe Taxed Robery) for the tenders because they sell by the pound. Although I really wanted the Yates cider so grabbed one checked, out also realizing how expensive the markup was on the cider, still proceeded to check out and pay cash. The younger staff were super helpful and assisting made good checkout banter and were kind after realizing I’m human. Save your money Grosse Pointe there’s a reason you have it and it’s not shopping at markets that treat younger customers as if they are better than you, Simply because your not.

I was in the middle of writing a long review until I just decided to say, food was good, but a sub is hot, not cold. And I shouldn't have half a sandwiches worth of bread left after spitting out mouthfuls of nothing but. New owners suck, killed the atmosphere, made it yuppie.

The best little corner market around!! We are proud South of Jefferson residents and so happy to have our cute little corner market just down the street. The perfect spot to grab grocery odds and ends, meat from the butcher (all fresh, not frozen!!), a prepared dinner and of course... slurpees for the kids! Truly a community builder - this little gem is family owned and we could not be any luckier to have such committed business owners supporting our community and keeping this little market that makes us feel like a Mayberry type town, alive and running smoothly!

Wow, I was so surprised with all the wonderful food items they have, fresh no less!! We were only in the area for about 36 hrs so I didn't have a chance to try the made to order subs but let me tell you the baklava was amazing!! I had to hold back buying another package. The woman, I'm assuming the owner, ringing us up the first night was super sweet, telling us all the things they had, she even stayed open a few extra minutes since we walked in right before closing. My teenage son loved walking over on his own and grabbing some snacks. Great little gem in this area!

Best Clam Chowder ever! Great selection of submarine sandwiches also. I will remember to pick up some on the way to the boat next summer!

My favorite market by far. Despite its small size, they are able to hold a variety of food items, including: veggies, fruit, canned goods, spices, refrigerated/freezer items, breads, pastries, pantry goods.....I even am able to get mirin here... basically any food item you would need. This market also has a deli with fresh meats, fish, and prepared meals on a rotating schedule. Made to order are subs and chicken sandwiches. Food is seriously delicious! I don't know what kind of kitchen they're able to fit in the back, but wow it does not disappoint. The only downside would be that their prices are a bit high on the higher side... much less than a luxury market but above a local chain bargain. What you sacrifice in a small price increase is what you make up for by shopping at a small, local business you can feel good about. Often time the owner is there and always friendly- staff always have smiles too! Shop is kept clean, neat, and always well stocked. Note: this is not a convenience store! You will not find household goods here. PARKING: small parking lot across the street, but this is located in a quiet neighborhood with street parking as well. ALCOHOL: small alcohol selection, down the street is wine shop with same owner & a gigantic selection of wines and other alcohols.

While there are many things that are great at Fairfax Quality Market like, the plate lunch and their chicken sandwich. What everyone with "Fairfax curiosity" needs to do is figure out when Chef Rob is making his beef barley soup. It is quite literally the best beef barley soup in the game...hands-down...no questions asked. #MicDropMoment.

Well, all doubt has been removed. It's handled. Decision made. If I'm heading to the electric chair? My last meal is 2- Chicken Sandwiches for Fairfax. HUGE WOW!!! I have found a new favorite. Wondering why this market wasn't packed with people. Do yourself a fav. The food is amazing!!

Wonderful local market in the Grosse Pointe Park community. Prepared foods and every day groceries including meats and produce. Very nice staff. Great for easy pickup of items; beats going to a supermarket when you only need a few items.

Tried a few things from Fairfax at a friend's house and loved it. Wanted to stop by at 6:30 on a Saturday and they had already stopped serving hot food. Store closes at 8:00. What's up with that? Hope the owner knows they are shutting things down early. Unless this is their standard practice on Saturday night....

They somehow sell everything you could need to make a gorgeous dinner and manage a pizzeria while maintaining a neighborhood bodega-type vibe we all love. You can bike over and hang out and have an old fashioned Coke or send your kid for milk & eggs and put it on the tab, what a total gem--I love this place!

Love it. I'm a fan. Excellent small market. Very well done. Some grocery items, frozen & fresh produce, and prepared foods. Salads, hummus, knish (maybe? There weren't a lot of labels), small but quality deli selection like chicken salad, fresh fish, wings, ribs, salmon... Limited selection but still seemed to have a lot of options, all of the items looked pretty tasty to me. Excellent wine & beer selection. Some fresh dessert items too. Coffee beans & grinder is excellent!!! Fresh pizza, thin crust, was really good, we watched it made with love, not only was it beautiful but tasted great, will definitely go back for more of that. Small & friendly atmosphere, they are very welcoming. I think prices are fine for the quality you are getting. 14" pizza was $16, definitely enough for 2 and maybe 3. Very happy after this visit.

Best local market in town. Fabulous subs. Amazing pizza. Get the dill pickle pizza! You won't be disappointed!

This place is clearly a neighborhood favorite, and it's easy to see why. A small quality market, you can get meats, packaged goods, and some assorted groceries. Fresh fruit, beer/wine/cider, some prepared food and desserts. They also make a small selection of subs that are honestly incredible. Such great flavors, fresh ingredients, and the staff is always very friendly and helpful. They also do a great pizza, with some unique options along with your standard build-your-own. A real gem of a spot, not to be missed! Only allowing 2 masked customers in at a time right now, and employees have been masked each time I've gone in.

Great start to a new beginning for Fairfax. There is a reviewer on here that gave 1 star ... appears they (the reviewer) had a BAD day... every so e review they made was only 1 star. Well, wonder what they do for a living??? Anyway, prices are definitely elevated but hopefully they wi come down in time. Fish choices are amazingly awesome & they are building a pizza oven. Oh, please come close to Fresh Farms Pesto pizza bread & we will be loyal forever. SO much potential here for catering & other gourmet specialty items. I'm lucky I love so close that we can walk over anytime. keep up the good work!

I had stopped in here before but never ordered the pizza . Today I made a trip especially for the pie , it was huge and reasonably priced , it could have used a dab more sauce but nonetheless it was still good . It's a very nice market with all types of meat in the meat counter , produce and our favorite ...... BEER ! I'll be back to try the subs next and will be ordering pizza again .

Great neighborhood market. Very good selection including beer and wine. Their subs are excellent. The new owners are very friendly. A true neighborhood gem.

Clutch. A welcome addition to food shopping in the Park. More selection than what you'd expect given the small size. Great location. Service with a smile.

This place is awesome. An amazing addition to an already great neighborhood. Fantastic pizza and prices are reasonable. The staff is super friendly and usually local kids.

Grew up riding my bike here for Topps baseball cards and sour patch kids from Gus and fam. Happy to report that a couple decades on it has evolved and matured under new ownership to now carry an excellent selection of soups, sandwiches, meats, cheese, wine, beer, dinners, snacks, and much in between of the highest choice and quality, and yet still at neighborhood friendly prices. Thank you to the new owners for maintaining the "quality" in our Fairfax "Quality" Market!

Lets be honest here - this isnt a full scale grocery store nor a market. It's small enough to be considered a very well stocked convenience store. But do not let that deter you. I really do mean well stocked! Bread, baking supplies, fresh produce, dishwashing liquid...they have a solid selection of every convenience packed into this tiny space. They even have a meat department! Although limited to a few beef and deli options, they do offer delmonico beef at around 11$ a pound! What a steal (fresh farm market rings up at about 22$/pound) Yes, this is the beloved jewel of the neighborhood, well maintained by such a charming family. I am not scoring this against other grocery stores, but I do give 5 stars for the little convenience store that could!

I miss the original owner. A nice and friendly man. Unlike the new owners that have so much attitude and charge 1000% more than other stores. Overpriced w bad customer service. I give one star for the new layout and new selection of products. What's up w all that tacky decor outside ? Are we in Kansas ? Please !!!!

Love this market! The new owners are doing it justice. Great service and less of a hassle than bigger brand stores. The food here is always quality and fresh.

Nice people working here and good quality food for the hungry traveler. Good veggie options and some nice produce. A lot of quality in that small space!!!

Gem of the neighborhood... they have most everything you could want, and if they don't have it, they'll work on getting it for you! Great new owners, they know everyone by name. Reasonable prices and unique, local products to choose from.

The owners know me by name and make me feel at home every time I walk in. Its a small market with a little bit of everything. The deli meats are much better than anything you can buy at kroger or trader joes. I Love coming to this place! One day they even offered to help me walk my groceries home.

This place is great. The same family's been running it ever since I can remember. The fact that they've been able to weather the proliferation of big chain grocery stores, the recession and honestly the weather itself (power outages...) is a testament to their professionalism, exceptional service and quality products. Support your local market! It truly is a dying breed.

Such a cute and friendly market. Try the homemade ground pork sausage! It is so good, and you can definitely tell the difference between that and the prepackaged rolls you get at the grocery store. The people who run this store are so nice. They even have beer and wine! It's nice to see kids ride their bikes up to this market in the summer and I love that it is within walking distance from my place. It's a great addition to the neighborhood.

Fairfax is an awesome market for the neighborhood. They have taken over a store that was running out of steam and now have dialed up nicely. It previously (and recently) catered to the lo end of the spectrum. Its now a much nicer place and the rate of improvement should allow it get back to normal in the near future. The selection is much better. Always room for improvement but will take a little time of course. Rome wasn't built in a day.

You hosts Mike , and Chad have done a great job with this neighborhood market. Four homemade soups daily. They usually have a couple of hot food options as well. Their deli case offers a wonderful selection of side dishes, and a good variety of fresh meat. I live alone so I love the homemade dinners in the cooler. They also make the best subs to order that I have found locally. There is also fresh produce, a huge beer and wine selection, and many specialty items you would not expect to find in a small neighborhood store. I am grateful to have this as my "go to store" in the neighborhood.

I love this market! They greet you as soon as you enter and remember your name. The staff are eager to help you find whatever you may you need. If they don't have in stock, they'll get it for you & most likely the next day' The meat, chicken, fish are amazing and of superb quality. The prices are fair and not gouged like a lot of local markets. Need a quick lunch? Stop in a grab a submarine sandwich as they are always made to order and great for the park! After checking out they will carry your groceries to your car! No place does that anymore! Best little local market!
