Fairlane coffee was a wonderful little coffee shop. Great vibes and atmosphere with lots of plants. They also had board games! I did some work and was able to focus easily. They also have outdoor seating which is lovely in the summer. Absolutely loved the matcha and avocado toast I got.

As I pushed open the door to Fairlane Coffee, I was enveloped in a warm and cozy atmosphere that immediately put me at ease. The beautifully designed interior, complete with rustic wooden accents and twinkling strings of tiny yellow bulbs, felt like a welcoming hug on a chilly day. It was the perfect setting to settle in with a good cup of coffee and a friend or two. We indulged in a delightful spread of iced mocha, toasted marshmallow latte, avocado toast, and bagel with cheese. While the avocado toast was a tad pricey, the quality and flavor of each item were exceptional. The coffee was rich and delicious, and the food was great. Fairlane Coffee is the perfect spot to meet up with friends, catch up on work, or simply enjoy a quiet moment to yourself. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, making it an ideal destination for anyone seeking a warm and inviting coffee shop experience.

Google
Amazing food and drinks! Staff is super welcoming and has great recommendations for what to order. The menu is very robust with many different flavors accomplished in a small menu. Highly recommend!

I was looking for breakfast after an early doctor’s appointment and got lucky with Fairlane! It’s a cozy place with friendly and cheerful staff. The Pumpkin Spice Thai Tea was exotic and Smoked Salmon sandwich was fab. Will definitely return to try out more stuff on their menu😊

Google
It's a coffee shop. Lol. Fun little place with good semi-trendy food. You know, things like avocado toast. Gluten free bread(s) and cookies. The friend I was with said their cappuccino was traditionally perfect! My tea & salmon toast was great too.

Google
Was super excited to see the salmon toast on the menu. This company had a picture posted of the toast and a menu as well. Well that should have been my clue that I shouldn’t try it, as there were no other pics. The updated in store menu had “dill sauce” as part of the salmon, which I thought would be fine. I was mistaken. Dill sauce is actually just mustard with some flecks of dill in it. It made it pretty… but mustard? I truly think it was trying to hide the salmon they were using, as you can see that has truly changed too. Sad, because I wanted to love it. Space is cute though! Hopefully the other toasts are better. I suggest you remove the pics of what you have altered.

Google
Atmosphere typical Portland area trendy vibe. The workers were friendly. I only had a cup of black coffee, and personally I didn't really care for it.

Google
A wonderful little coffee shop in the Sellwood area. They have an amazing array of toasts and a near perfect cappuccino. I loved all the hanging plants, gave the place a real zen vibe.

Yelp
We enjoyed a nice cup of drip coffee in the heart of the Moreland near. Nice shaded (1 pm) outdoor space to enjoy Fairlane's offerings. Service is fast, friendly and efficient.

Yelp
I haven't been here in a while and it has gotten better. The coffee is premium and the pours are exceptional. If you dine on site you get glass cups and ceramic plates. In a world of plastics and reusable this is a good option. Also had a cookie sheet high was the best. It's in my top three for coffee in sellwood.
google avatar

Stephanie A.

Yelp
Cutest place in Sellwood! I loved their energy, lots of plants, big windows, cute outdoor seating... and the coffee and cookie I got was great. Good spot to work or meet up with someone!
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
Cute little spot that has indoor seating and outdoor are if you wanted to bring your little furry friends. Could definitely see this as a decent study/work spot, as there is Wifi, that also serves delicious food and drinks! Ended up coming on a Saturday for an late breakfast and the toast did not miss. Bread wasn't toasted, which I kind of wish it was, but it was delicious and tasted so fresh. We ordered the garden toast and the avo + hummus toast. We added salmon to the avo toast and it elevated it to the next level. The latte was so good, but there is a bit of a sweetness to it even without any flavorings! The iced matcha latte was good, but the matcha flavor felt a bit watered down. Wish the taste has more of a presence in the drink. Overall, cute ambiance and super friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a new coffee spot and will come back again to try more drinks!

Yelp
I only got an oatmilk chai latte but it's very nice- a bit mild, if anything. The dining area is clean and covered in plants in the airspace.

Yelp
This place has good coffee, great service and an excellent selection of pastries. I love the onyx coffee beans they use and sell!

Yelp
This place is so delicious to the point where I added "Review Fairlane Coffee" to my Reminders because I am so excited to give this place five stars! The first time I came here, I did not make it for the food... but their special drink of the day (which included Oreos - yum) was delicious and memorable. The second time, my beloved and I made the walk to make it for the food... and it needs to be said - I had no idea avocado toast could be so delicious. The interior design is cozy and stylish... the service is lovely... so happy a friend recommended this place. It's a gem.
google avatar

Yelp
This place serves delicious coffee and other beverages with pastries and a short food menu. We tried the regular and the lavender latte, the Avo Hummus toast and the savory cheddar jalapeño scone. The Avo Hummus was delicious with generous amount of avocado and pumpkin seeds and pine nuts. All pastries are made fresh each day. If you're looking for good coffee on this side of town, this is a must try!

Yelp
Stopped by Fairlane coffee on a drizzly day during a recent trip to PDX. The friendly faces of the staff was a welcome sight to this caffeine deprived traveller. I was excited to try their pour options and went with an Ethiopian bean light roast that was light and fruity. Space has nice high ceilings and an open layout with good airflow. Had an interesting assortment of pastry options that I will need to check out next time.

Yelp
Headline: beautiful spot with great drinks. The cappucino and hot chocolate my son and I ordered were perfect. Baristas were fantastic - understated, cool, and know how to craft delicious beverages. The environment is so perfectly "Portland hipster coffee shop" that it's was almost comedic. Except that the vibe - with hanging plants, local artwork and reclaimed wood walls and a fantastic playlist matching the mood - was entirely perfect on the rainy afternoon that we stopped in while on college tours. Sadly, the other patrons working on their laptops in silence made us feel like any conversation was not only unwelcome, that WE were unwelcome. So that's a bummer. Maybe the vibe is different in the mornings when the space isn't just a remote worksite.

Yelp
Awesome coffee roaster in the Portland area! I was in desperate need of coffee and couldn't believe I went the whole morning without caffeine, so when I spotted Fairlane Coffee I believed it to be a sign. It truly was. The shop is not open right now due to the pandemic, but they are allowing takeout orders as you can order at the front door. Menu is placed at the window, along with the fresh pastries and list of daily specials. The menu has a full list of different caffeinated and non-caffeinated drinks and whatever kind of specialty coffee your heart desires. I like my coffee black with nothing fancy, so just ordered a drip, which was fantastic! You can tell the coffee is money here, so no need to get anything elaborate. Glad to have checked out a local coffee roaster, which beats Starbucks every single time.

Yelp
The ambience is awesome with all of the plants, open and bright atmosphere. I ordered a latte, which was delicious, and took a treat outside for my happy lab. Hospitable, efficient service. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
I must admit (even though they didn't hire me hehehe) this is my local favorite coffee shop. Their service is top tier! The best coffee around AND they offer food that is freshly made in-house! Hands down the best coffee shop I've found in Portland that consistently provides great food, coffee & service. Whether it's an in house visit, to go order or delivery, I'm always satisfied! Thank you Fairlane for your dedication to the community!
google avatar

Kurt P.

Yelp
Local coffee shop that has adapted very well to the pandemic. They have one table out in front where you order, and a second (pictured) where you pick up. This keeps maximum distance between the two lines and you don't go into the shop. It does mean the proprietor has to shuttle between them and the prep area which is extra work for him. I stopped by at 6:30am and ordered a large mocha. It was ready in just a few minutes despite another order being placed just before mine. It was delivered piping hot. It was smooth and choclaty. The coffee flavor wasn't quite as pronounced as some I've had, but it was still wonderful. Great experience, I'll be back!

Yelp
Not bad...but not my favorite coffee in Portland. Fairlane is a small, quaint cafe in Sellwood and features a variety of coffees, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches that looked quite good. I came in on a Monday morning and they were busy. Their space is small, with a few single tables, a long study table, and some bar stools at their window. I ordered an iced oatmilk latte, and I thought it was okay...the coffee was not as smooth as I'd thought and was a bit acidic for my liking. I'm not sure if it was the day I was there, or if it's just the norm, but it was really humid and hot inside? Kinda a muggy feeling, not pleasant, hence the iced drink. Maybe it's because the place was small so there wasn't a lot of airflow? I'm not sure, but that and the mediocre coffee didn't leave the greatest first impression on me. But a bonus point to them though, they have wifi, and it's actually pretty fast from what I've experienced at other coffee shops. If you're looking to get some work done, Fairlane has the wifi to support that! Maybe I'll come back to try their food items, but for now, their coffee might not be the reason I return.

Yelp
Fairlane is a great business they make excellent coffee and have been a staple in the neighborhood for some time now. Changes in ownership are hard they have retooled and are still putting out killer drinks! Thanks to the staff!
google avatar

Sherri P.

Yelp
Great service and a really nice ambience! I really enjoyed the quality of the coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Very nice coffee shop in the Westmoreland neighborhood. They have delicious coffee and food. Your typical coffee drinks are on the menu, such as Lattes, Cappuccino and Americanos. But what I enjoy the most are their seasonal drinks with their custom made sirups. As for the food options, they have a large verity of baked good, toast, and granola. My favorite is the Ricotta + Berries toast.
google avatar

Astrid B.

Yelp
Very cute, good vibe and good items. A little small and staff was not super welcoming. I would go again though, it was a cool place in a great part of Portland
google avatar

Magdalena C.

Yelp
An updated menu along with the 2 espresso options. One is more traditional and the other is more modern
google avatar

Yelp
Yummy coffee and toast! Beautiful picture perfect meal. The environment was friendly and clean as well. I'm from out of town but if I lived in the area I would make this a regular spot!!

L D.

Yelp
Such a sweet space! Perfect place to spend some time and enjoy delicious drinks. Their matcha is especially delicious! Perfect local spot.
google avatar

Yelp
the pastries are just ok, the tea is not very good, especially for what you pay. lots of room to sit & staff are very nice.
google avatar

Loren W.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee places in Sellwood/SE. Their drip coffee & cold brew are very reliable and the avocado toast never disappoints.
google avatar

Colton L.

Yelp
Amazing!! The coffee in the PNW is fabulous, therefore a 5 star review isn't always easy to come by when competing with the best. The mocha and food were wonderful. I would 10/10 recommend.
google avatar

Clare Q.

Yelp
Fun little coffee place. They serve Coco Donuts and the coffee is good. There is a little room for working or meeting with a few friends.
google avatar

Jody T.

Yelp
19June19 @ 12:30pm Nice high ceiling, big windows, lots of plants hanging from the ceiling, old engine on a stand by the door, local artist photography on the walls. High tables against the walls and a big long table down the center. Quick friendly service. We had a couple of lattes and they were quite excellent with good foam and crema, no bitterness and a nice chocolate taste and thick texture. Maybe the best latte we have had.
google avatar

Zach K.

Yelp
Wow. New owner and now my new favorite breakfast spot. The combination of flavors on this avocado toast on amazing bread is off the hook. This oat milk latte is darn good as well
google avatar

Louanne F.

Yelp
This coffee shop has quite a bit of space, it would be the perfect place to work and study! There were plenty of outlets around and plenty of seating availabile. The service was great, all of the cashiers and baristas are really nice. I had the cold brew coffee, which was really good. I would love to visit again when I'm around the area. You will need a key to use the restroom. Which are located out the side doors, second door to the left. Also keep in mind that their fall hours will be daily from 6am to 4:30pm.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been visiting Sellwood more regularly recently, and discovered Fairlane by doing a Yelp search. I was on the hunt for a sweet treat, with a local vibe and Fairlane fit the bill. It was close to closing on my first visit in and the pastry counter was pretty empty (as it should be close to closing!!!) but I asked if they had anything sweet left, and the barista happily asked "what are your feelings about pie?" Now I'm not sure, but she may in fact be a psychic, because pie is absolutely my most favorite dessert of all time ever in the history of life. I said "yes please!" without knowing what type of pie, but it didn't matter, pie was happening. And I was not disappointed. It was a yummy berry pie with the flakiest crust, pair that with a nice cup of black coffee and there isn't anything better. Can't wait till next time.
google avatar

Tiva F.

Yelp
I heard they had new owners so I decided to give this place another try on my way to work. The service was so much better. The gal at the counter was by herself and she made me an amazing flat white. The toast was big & tasty with the apricot jam. I was here at 6:10am on a Monday. There were already two gentlemen sitting there enjoying their coffee. I would like to return to enjoy the space when I have more time.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
Um, what's not to love? The coffee is amazing, the pastries are out of this world. Recently I got a cornmeal blueberry cookie... like how could you see that in the display case and not order it!? Seriously the best cookie I have ever had... And I used to own a bakery. Despite a time of COVID, I feel like they have adapted really well and have always made me feel safe and comfortable going there when I am in the area. I can't wait till they open again and I can linger in their beautiful space. You'd be crazy not to give this place a try.
google avatar

Shelby D.

Yelp
Cute local coffee shop in Sellwood (Portland). They have several vegan food options including pastries and avocado toast, and their oat milk latte is one of the best I've ever had. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available and parking is easy with a public lot next door.
google avatar

Kat S.

Yelp
I love coffee. I have a cup of some sort of non dairy latte a day and over the years of being in Portland have my go to spots for goooood coffee. "Good" meaning smooth blended coffee notes (usually imported with hard to pronounce names) steamed or whipped or mixed perfectly with whatever milk selection. "Good" also accounts for is the spot cool, welcoming, and warm? Do I want to hang out there for hours if I could? How's the pastry selection (I'm European, this is very important)? I was so pleasantly surprised when my friend took me here for the first time at 6am on a Saturday to help "carb up" before a relay race that day. We were greeted not only by a cool guy with an Aussie (?) accent but also banana bread that was so fresh it was still warm and falling apart in your hands. Naturally I had to come back the day after. Where do I start with how cool this place is! From the ambiance, location, to the DELICIOUS coffee and very friendly service, to the selection (they carry oat milk) I wish I lived closer so I could come here more! I tried oat milk for the first time in Amsterdam last year, and for the second time yesterday when Sierra made me a hazelnut oat ly latte. It was even more delicious than the Dutch making it (or maybe it Sierra's sweet coffee making skills). Could I hang out here for hours? Totally. I saw WiFi details and cool tables to hang out at. And the pastry selection looked spot on. This is becoming one of my favorite coffee spots in Portland. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fairlane Coffee is running a good system. I liked the ability to order online, so you didn't have to call-to-order and speak to someone when they were open. And, Fairlane coffee was open at 7am, and with a lot of the restricted hours of other coffee shops being past 9 am and not opening 'til later, this was a huge plus! I don't know if I had their system-completely down- as far as the business flow, but it worked and we got the things we ordered safely and quickly. I pre-ordered the day before, but I stood in line at the front of the business while some people were walking up to order and then go. I showed my receipt of what I ordered and then I waited briefly at another side door and they set my food and drinks out on a neutral chair for me to grab by the door. So, it worked well and minimized contact! And, as far as what we ordered, it was premium! My husband and I both ordered the Spring Latte's with Lavender, Cardamom and Chamomile, perfection. ANd, then to eat, my husband had the smoked salmon toast and I had the ricotta & berries toast! I didn't have a chance to have my hubby's, but he said it was delicious and same with mine, I devoured it so quickly! I would definitely come here again in times of quarantine or otherwise.

Yelp
My go-to is the flashed iced coffee. Black. It's refreshing, low acidity, and tasty. I'm feeling baller and want a little sweetness to my day I'll go for whatever special they have with oat milk. Their last special I had was a marshmallow ... something...something latte. Granted I'm forgetting a few ingredients but it was so delicious I managed to convince a few neighbors on my street to go down and get themselves a latte. They know what they're doing there; it's frickin' delicious. The salmon toast on gf bread is something I'll arm wrestle an elder man over. Ingredients are fresh, and local. The staff are frickin' nice and fun to chat with. Don't give big chains your money, go to your local shops and support local creatives. Treat yourself.
google avatar

Santino F.

Yelp
When in there around 6 PM. Place was pretty empty ordered a quad shot 16 ounce mocha, some guy was in there flirting with the guy barista. Not doing a very good job in my opinion. I was more concerned with how and pour the quality of the pick up lines were than the actual taste of coffee. Overall nice hipster feel/vibe to it oh. And I had a blueberry muffin which I'm not gonna lie, was pretty good! definitely a 10 out of 10.
google avatar

Noelle D.

Yelp
Got some coffee and pastries from fairlane and wasn't disappointed! The pastries are on the denser side, so felt super filling. The thing I'd come back for is the avocado toast... sooo good. The bread it's served on is thick and perfectly soft and crispy at the same time. Also got a latte and it was good. I'll be back for sure.

Katherine T.

Yelp
Love this place! It's cozy and the employees are super friendly! Furthermore the food and drinks are great!
google avatar

Yelp
Ordered a matcha and sat in the seats outside from this coffee shop. Nice place! Looked cute inside and hope to come back when I can sit inside in the future!
google avatar

Rochelle M.

Yelp
Great matcha latte and avocado toast. The matcha was smooth and creamy and the avocado toast I order was one of the best I've ever had. The combo with the beats and goat cheese, with the nuts were perfect! Plus the toast they used was thick and chewy, great texture. I will definitely come back.
google avatar

Jean J.

Yelp
I don't know if I just went here on an off day but my experience wasn't great. I had questions about a menu item so I called...and called...and called... I tried calling for 30 minutes giving time between each call and no answer. I went for it anyways and submitted an order online with the instruction to call upon arrival for curbside pick up. So when I arrived I called....and called...and called....no answer. I could see the employees in there some just leaning, not busy. It was clear they were not going to answer so I went up to the window to collect my items. Unfortunately I was not a fan of their matcha. I'm fine with unsweetened but it was SO thick it had more of a malt/smoothie consistency. Bummer.
google avatar

Kelcie Grace G.

Yelp
What a fun coffee shop! The staff and knowledgeable and friendly. I even got to meet the new owners! Their vision for the shop sounds so fun and exciting. I look forward to seeing the shop grow. The coffee is delicious. You can definitely tell the barista knew what she was doing. I had a mint mocha and the flavor was perfectly balanced. Not too sweet ... the espresso was well rich and flavorful. There are plugs at pretty much every table so you can work on your laptop while enjoying your beverage and snack. It was bustling while we were there but there is plenty of seating and we didn't have to wait for a table. The shop is almost all windows so it is bight and welcoming. This may be my new favorite coffee shop. Definitely check it out!!
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
Fairlane is awesome, I drop in for an oat milk latte a couple times per week. They always deliver! The coffee is great, they have iced and half-caffeinated options, and they have a seating area to chill out while you sip/eat. One of the best coffee shops in SE Portland
google avatar

Dianne S.

Yelp
My new favorite coffee spot in SE Portland. Only discovered this recently during a walk and realized its walking distance from home, which is a super big plus! The staff is friendly. I love the culture of the coffee shop (adventure driven and they feature such good photography by one of their baristas who is also a big adventurer!). The shop is a perfect place to work from. It's quiet, clean, and well-lit with huge windows and natural lighting. Each table has access to an outlet (USB friendly too, big plus). I had an iced vanilla latte that I was very impressed with. Definitely going to come back to try other brews and spend my Fridays here!
google avatar

Sara W.

Yelp
What a find. Simple. Affordable. Delicious! The place is super cute and inviting when you walk in and I can't wait to return.
google avatar

Malisa T.

Yelp
Right in the midst of Sellwood/Milwaukee, the moment you walk in seems like a dream. I love the ambiance and the hanging plants while walking into the shop. The matcha latte is unsweetened when ordered, but there are sweeteners on the side table if you would like to add if you wish (especially being a slight sweet tooth like me). I ordered also the almond butter and banana toast. A bit slightly more saltier than I would like to have enjoyed personally but they do have variable options available including toasts, specialties, bagels, and more. It is a perfect spot to meet for a business meeting or to simply catch up with a friend.
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
This place is so yummy! I DoorDashed the chocolate almond butter and banana toast with an oat milk matcha, I was so delighted with everything! Now I am going to have to try all of their toasts cause they look divine.
google avatar

Megan P.

Yelp
This is my new Sellwood favorite coffee spot. The almond milk mocha is the best, it's not so full of sugar that you can't taste the espresso, and the espresso is great. I love the vibes of the place too, the décor is casual and warm. I've tried so many Sellwood coffee shops- and I highly recommend this place!
