Fairmont Heritage Place, Ghirardelli Square

"How did it strike you on arrival? The Fairmont Heritage Place—not to be confused with Nob Hill's Fairmont—is an all-suite private residence club housed in a brick building that was once Ghirardelli's chocolate factory. As such, it's far more low-key that its sister property on Nob Hill, with a small but well-designed lobby with tiled floors and stone steps, contemporary artwork and potted plants. From the outside, the brick building is stately, with Fairmont flags flanking the entryway. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. All the residences come with one, two, or three bedrooms, high-end kitchens with Wolf appliances, dining areas, and living rooms with fireplaces. The suites range in size from 850 square feet to a sprawling 1,800 square feet, and they’re tricked out with anything and everything you might need: dishwasher, wine fridge, and a washer-dryer. In addition, the property has partnerships with McCormick’s and San Francisco Brewing Co.; you can order direct through the concierge, and a butler will deliver your order straight to you. The vibe is far more modern than the iconic hotel, with details like exposed brick, open floor plans, loft-like ceilings, and bronze pendent lights. The space come with homey touches like framed images, and comfortable chairs and couches and shades of beige and blue. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?The beds come with Mascioni linens. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?I would absolutely steal the glass-front wine refrigerators. CD/DVD players mean you can make yourself at home, while washer-dryers are incredibly handy for those on the road for a while. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms have stone floors, dark cabinets, and rain showers. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is complimentary. Room service: Worth it?This isn't a typical hotel, so there's not restaurant or room service. But there is a concierge to make your reservations for you. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.Great views of the water, and a terrace you can hang out on. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The freedom of staying in your own apartment. It has the convenience of an Airbnb and the luxury of a hotel. Bottom line: worth it, and why?The location is in the middle of tourist central." - Elise Craig

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. My family of 5 stayed here for 6 nights and I think it's the best room we've ever stayed in. Here are the highlights:||1) Room was very spacious, comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed (and more). It's often hard to find a place spacious enough for 5 of us to stay in one place and this was perfect! We rented a two bedroom. Each bedroom had a nice king sized bed, dresser, 2 nightstands, large closet and huge bathroom. The family room had a pull out couch which opened into a very comfortable queen sized bed with a large TV. We had a large well stocked kitchen with a sink, fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, dining table with island. Everything was super clean and modern. We had plenty of towels and the water pressure in the showers was great! The internet was fast and easy to connect into.||2) Location, Location, Location. This hotel is in the perfect location! This hotel is right in Ghirardelli Square and you can walk out straight into the square which is filled with lots of unique shops, restaurants, minigolf & arcade, and of course Ghirardelli chocolate. It's also a super short walk to Fisherman's Wharf with so many restaurants and shop nearby. We walked to most of our meals as there was a plethora of good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. I also felt very safe here. It has a wonderful view of the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz and right near a Cable Car stop. There is no better location in San Fran than here! ||3) The staff was super friendly and helpful. Before arriving, I was sent a questionnaire asking me about my preferences and if there's anything I needed upon arrival (i.e.groceries). I had asked for the queen fold out bed in the family room to be set up and it was. Upon arrival, we were given a tour of our hotel and shown the different amenities. There's an espresso machine on the first floor, water refill stations by each elevator, and wine/cheese happy hour every Monday and Friday. Our reservation included valet parking our car and each time we needed it, the staff quickly brought our car to us and gave us advice and tips about wherever we were going. ||Don't hesitate to reserve you stay here while in San Francisco. This is the BEST HOTEL IN SAN FRAN!

Excellent experience! The concierge (Jean Pirenne) made this a great week for us. He recommended tours and wineries, set reservations and even used our card to pay. They prestocked our fridge so we were all set. Room had a French press, espresso maker and a coffee pot! TV is set to login with Netflix and Prime. Walking distance to Pier 39 Fisherman Wharf and ferry tours. Sausalito just 20min drive; Napa/Sonoma just over an hour. Valet had car ready with just minutes notice. Note the weather can be up to 20-30degrees warmer in Napa than the windy coast.

The staff was amazing from the valets to the front desk to the maintenance people. All were so friendly and greeted me and my family whenever we saw them. My daughter wanted to purchase or rent a stroller for our stay and the concierge went out of her way to research a nearby rental place. Fabulous historic property at the storied Ghirardelli chocolate factory on the San Francisco waterfront. Convenient to the Alcatraz, Angel Island, Bay cruises, Pier 39, Fort Mason, all kinds of restaurants, and colorful shops. Great place to spend spring break with the family.

This spacious two-bedroom apartment is ideally situated in the heart of all the excitement and energy of the city. Just steps away from countless dining options, it offers the perfect base for exploring the vibrant local scene. The friendly and accommodating staff enhance the experience, ensuring a welcoming stay. And, of course, you're right in the middle of iconic Ghirardelli Square, making it a prime location for both convenience and adventure. A fantastic choice for those who want to be close to all the action!

Review: Not a 5-star hotel, just basic apartments This is not a hotel, but rather an apartment-style accommodation with very limited services. There is no room service, no wardrobes, and no place to unpack your belongings — everything stays in your suitcase. If you’re coming from Europe, be aware that you won’t be able to use your own hairdryer, as they do not provide adapters for converting 220V to 110V — they simply don’t have any. The cleaning service is terrible: the bed was not made properly, the bathroom floor was not cleaned, and there was visible dirt in multiple places. Windows don’t open at all, which makes the space feel stuffy and uncomfortable — there’s no way to get fresh air. Overall, this is not a 5-star experience, and definitely not a luxury stay. Just a basic apartment with very limited amenities.

We stayed here for a family reunion. Really nice spot in a historic downtown location. Surprisingly quiet given its location in one of the busiest tourist attractions in SF. Rooms were nice but moreover, the staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Yelp
This was one of the best hotels that I've had the pleasure of experiencing in my life (so far). From valet to check-in to kid friendliness to location, it checked so many boxes for an ideal family vacation to San Francisco. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it was certainly spacious! We had a great view of Alcatraz right across from our hotel and there was also an in suite kitchen with plenty of storage and fridge space for all of our snacks. The beds were comfortable to the point where our kids adjusted easily to Pacific Time by sleeping in for an additional hour (I'll take it). There was also an open patio with plenty of seating and a great view of the hustle and bustle in Ghirardelli Square. Customer service was friendly and accommodating during our entire stay. They provided our kids with their own little Fairmont teddy bears upon check in and were always so helpful with navigating us, especially in our double wide stroller. Valet always had our car ready for us and we never had to wait additional time. In terms of the location, this is adjacent to Ghirardelli Square (with little squares of chocolates available throughout the hotel!) with tons of retail shops and a few blocks away from Fisherman's Wharf.

Yelp
My boyfriend visited a customer who was staying here, I tagged along. We did not stay here but we got to see his customer's room. It seemed pretty nice. I wanted to take pictures but my boyfriend warned me not to. Everything looked modern, from the room to the lobby. I would like to stay here some day.

Yelp
Great stay at the residences. Staff was very accommodating, and professional. Very clean, and quiet, yet close enough to walk or get a ride anywhere. Unlike most hotels in the area, there's no charge for your car either. Area hotels are up to $80 a night for parking. Very nice stay.

Yelp
We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite with a total of 7 people, although only 5 of us spent the night. It was incredibly comfortable and we had a blast. We had dinner a few blocks away and ended the night with dessert at Ghirardelli which is just a few steps away from the Fairmont. We celebrated a birthday and a small baby "sprinkle" during our one night stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, there is a dining room with six chairs, living room, TV in the living room as well as every single bedroom. There is also a washer and dryer in the suite. You can opt to valet, or self park in ghirardelli square. I chose to self park. Since there's a rise in car break-ins right now (early 2022), I would suggest to valet or self park and not park outside. Also, take advantage of outdoor terraces with fire pits. It's a nice place to de stress. This is a great place for families, friends, couples. We loved our stay here and will definitely be back. Definitely recommend.

Yelp
Outstanding 5-Star experience. Wonderful place for a family stay in San Francisco. The residence is in the backside of Ghirardelli Square and consists of all suites, up to 3 bedrooms.  The property is managed by the famous Fairmont Hotel chain and is used for their fractional ownership program, but many of the units are also available for booking by the public. The amenities and services are all quite high end, as are the prices.  Although we booked ours online (via Kayak/Expedia) and got a great deal about 40% off, down from a typical of about $1,000 per night. Location is spectacular in SF...just upstairs from the Ghirardelli chocolate store, with a private patio that overlooks the Ghirardelli promenade, a block from Fisherman's Wharf, 20 minutes stroll from the Ferry Building and their fabulous farmers market and a short jog or ride to the Golden Gate Bridge. Service was impeccable - great interactions at front desk, bell hop, etc. Another nice benefit is the washer and dryer in each unit.  Very handy with three kids! We really enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Heritage Place and will certainly return.

Yelp
We had a family trip to San Francisco and needed multiple rooms we rented one of the residences and was very impressed with the service and the three-bedroom plus living area and kitchen was in great condition and in a great location

Yelp
A group of 7 stayed here over the summer in one of the 3 bedroom suites. Each room had its own ensuite bathroom which is a major plus! The kitchen and living room area was spacious. Everything was clean and the beds, towels and toiletries were great. Not sure how much it cost bc my local friend treated us (but I know it was pricey$$!!). The location was good and they had a nice outdoor seating aeea in the back that was empty for some reason so we decide to lounge around after brunch and have some drinks in the sun. The only reason for 4/5 stars is because I travel a lot and am often staying at 5 star hotels where there is more of a personal touch (welcome gifts, being greeted by name, etc.) and a lot of perks. Overall solid hotel and worth the loot if you are traveling with a group.

Yelp
A dream come true property, this is what service is all about. The team at the Fairmont Heritage Place will delight your soul. Outstanding 5 star experience. The service was impeccable from all staff members. Initially, we only booked for a 2 week stay and kept extending, for another 5 months while we were remodeling our home. We stayed in a beautiful 2 bedroom suite with high end amenities, including a full kitchen and washer and dryer in every residence, which is very difficult to find in San Francisco. Along with my family being extremely happy with our stay, our dog had a fabulous time as well, as they are pet friendly and supplied him with a dog bed, dog bowls, and dog treats. The doorman loved to give him treats as we would come and go. Besides staying in luxury, you are in a prime and safe location, just upstairs from Ghirardelli Square. You are also in close walking distance from Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Fort Mason, and the Marina District. The Mustard Terrace was our favorite part of the hotel. It has spectacular views of Alcatraz, the bay and the world's famous Ghirardelli sign above. We loved hanging out on the comfy outdoor couches by the fire pit, day or night. The hotel also offers a complimentary generous wine and cheese hour every Wednesday and Friday which was a wonderful perk. We can't thank the entire staff enough who went out of their way to make our stay feel like home. I can honestly say, the staff treated everyone like family! A few of them are Marco, Stephen, Aziz, Ryan, YuMi, Jean, Jason, Jeff, Asim, Lucia, Michelle, Johnson, Byron, The housekeeping team, Dallas, Karina, and Sarah. And of course the managers Jonathan, Dan, and Jessica.

Yelp
Such a lovely hotel! We were greeted by staff and treated so well the entire stay. We flew in close to dinner time and concierge had a great recommendation for us. They took care of our extra bags and luggage so we could explore the city sans baggage after checking out. Breakfast was serve yourself, consisting of various selections of breads, bagels, muffins and pastries. There was also fruit, oatmeal with a variety of mix-ins, cereals, coffee, tea and fruit drinks. We stayed in a two-bedroom suite, both bedrooms had their own spacious and luxurious bathroom. A full kitchen, dining area and cozy living room make it feel just like being home.

Yelp
Great hotel. Super friendly and prompt service, and our room was fab. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. The walls were brick, which was gorgeous. The beds were amazing. So comfortable! Hardwood floors, three televisions, a fireplace, full kitchen, living & dining room and three bathrooms. There is a great patio with lights strung and a fire pit. Love the view of the square and the Ghirardelli sign. Overall, a short but extremely comfortable stay.

Yelp
This hotel has been my worst experience for a hotel, management service has been horrible I was being no supplies in the room , tried to have a nice family outing we were very respectful playa by music at a moderately level at 7:00 pm was told to lower music we did to accommodate hotels request then we were force to go to their lobby lounge for the remainder of our dinner , one in the lobby the manger was a prick the whole time told us we had to clean up our things within an hour once we cleaned up our supplies he followed us back to the room and told us we were being kick out for a noise complaint at 10:00pm management was not reasonable at all . Paid great money for the suit and tried to deny us a refund never coming back to this hotel ever again. Management was very discriminatory Daniel was very arrogant and unreasonable

Yelp
Its not worth for the price! Beds are way too stiff and single residences does not have bathtub. Customer service is good. Not a good value for money!

Yelp
Heritage Place is in the backside of Ghirardelli Square and consists of all suites, up to 3 bedrooms. The property is managed by the famous Fairmont Hotel chain and is used for their fractional ownership program. However, units are also available for booking by the public. As you might expect from a Fairmont property, the amenities and services are high end, as are the prices. Besides living in luxury, you're in prime location, just upstairs from the Ghirardelli chocolate store (the private patio overlooks the Ghirardelli promenade), a block from Fisherman's Wharf, 20 minutes stroll from the Ferry Building and their fabulous farmers market and a short jog or ride to the Golden Gate Bridge. The property provides a nice continental breakfast, with a few hot items along with fresh fruit, breads and cereals. The quality is comparable to those offered by middle-tier hotel chains (so not high-end). They also offer a happy hour which consists of only cheese and cracker and some wine selection. For some reason, they don't even offer nonalcoholic drinks or even offer bottle water that you'll find in any concierge lounge. As for other amenities, the hotel offers a complimentary private car to anywhere within a 2 mile radius. That might not sound like very far but it does cover most of the city given how small it is. They also have complimentary bikes (with helmets) for that must ride across the bridge and an extensive DVD selection that the wife took advantage of. Another nice benefit is the washer and dryer in each unit. Very handy with 2 boys. The service is what you might expect. Very professional yet personable. No snootiness detected. We really enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont Heritage Place.

Yelp
This place is incredible! We went to San Francisco for a lowkey bachelorette party and we wanted to stay at a hotel where we would feel pampered. Definitely chose the right place!! Every staff member was completely courteous and accommodating. Never once did we encounter anyone that didn't have a smile on their face. The residences are fantastic! Clean spacious rooms, full kitchen, living room, washer/dryer. Everything you need! They have a complimentary car service available which we certainly utilized throughout our stay. You also get a complimentary continental breakfast daily. There are some reviews on here complaining about the breakfast not being up to par. The breakfast was great! There was coffee, teas, juices, cereal, breakfast burritos or sandwiches, pastries, oatmeal and fruits. Not much else needed. The location is perfect and the views amazing. I can't recommend this place enough! We had such an amazing weekend and can't wait to come back! Thank you to the manager, Clay, for the tour and taking care of us. Also thank you to staff members Gio, Dean, Dustin, Matthew and Diogo for driving us around, bringing us more blankets, being totally adorable and putting up with us 7 girls!!

Yelp
I had a bachelorette party in April so i decide to stay one night in this hotel. At first, it was confusion to find it location since it located on the side of the Ghirardelli chocolate store. It is expensive, one night for $1,000. The reason we choose this hotel because it is spacious and can fit up to 6 people. The main reason we glad we choose this hotel was that they will drive us around SF within the 2 miles radius. There are 8 of us and we are not familiar with SF clubs and restaurants so therefore having this really help us a lot since finding a parking in SF at night time is impossible. We were welcome with a 5 stars services staff! They even brought us some wines and snacks since we told them it is for a bachelorette party. The room was spacious and well equipped with brand new oven and kitchen that had two bedroom and 3 bathroom inside. We didn't really get a chance to check around what is inside the hotel because we mostly want the room just for resting after a long day girls night out. This is a 5 stars hotel but the free breakfast need to change. It is not a 5 star breakfast at all. There is Only bagels, bread and jam for breakfast which I expected more than this. Other than that, it is a great choice. Overall, if you are from out of town and don't want to drive around SF area, book this hotel and they will drive you and pick you up within 2 miles radius which is so convenient!

Missus G.

Yelp
From the moment I checked in, to the moment I checked out, everyone was super kind and we felt very welcomed. The room was very nice and the hotel is in a great location. I definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
Have to say, I loved my stay with this hotel. It didn't feel like a room your renting, more like your own place. Loved the kitchen and restrooms and the Modern feel. Staff was amazing, process was quick and easy and place was VERY clean. Thank you!!

Yelp
This is how I want to live. Amazing rooms, amazing location, amazing place for a party/get together, and well... I want my future condo to look just like the room I stayed in. And I'll live happily ever after. The end.
google avatar

Mickey 7.

Yelp
The properties location can't make up for a lack luster ambiance and service. Not much more to report except that the brand suffers from a "weaker link" in their collection of otherwise pleasantly refreshing and relaxing horses in their stable. Our friends will be visiting again soon and we will update this review in a few months.

Yelp
My favorite hotel in San Fran. Best location for a family visit. Walking distance to the best parts of the wharf. Balcony rooms offer amazing views of the Golden gate bridge and Alcatraz
google avatar

Yelp
An amazing stay in an amazing place! I have stayed at nearly all of the luxury hotels in San Francisco and the spacious rooms, location (who doesn't want to stay above a chocolate factory), and comfort at the Fairmont Heritage Place outshine all of the other properties. Perfect for families as Ghirardelli Square has many great dining options, stores (a cheese shop to say the least), and activities. Will definitely be staying here on our several trips each year to San Francisco.

Yelp
We were fortunate enough to stay here for my husband's birthday. We booked a gorgeous 2 bedroom suite with the assistance of the friendly and knowledgeable Waleed Raad who oversees reservations for the hotel. He was warm & welcoming and also hosted us at the lovely wine reception off the lobby which is offered complimentary to guests every day. The room was amazing! Better than we could have hoped for with a view of the bay (including sea lions & brave swimmers from the Dolphin Club!), a full kitchen, living room, and dining area. The hotel surprised us with chocolates, wine, balloons and a hand written card to celebrate the occasion. We brought our two children with us and Michael the fabulous Concierge suggested borrowing the hotel's guest bikes (also complimentary). We ended up having a spectacular bike ride with the kids all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge, past Chrissy Field, the Marina and boat ramps, and a stunning hilltop with a gorgeous view of it all. The path we took was very safe and was a wide bike and pedestrian path that was easy to follow and not crowded whatsoever. It was 6 miles round trip and definitely the highlight of our stay. To be able to experience the beauty of the city by the bay so intimately, within such a warm and cozy private residence is truly a dream. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and welcoming (Corey, Dustin & Tito were all fabulous bell staff!) Here's the thing - you'll fall head over heels & leave your heart in San Francisco. We certainly did.

Nicole P.

Yelp
Don't stay here. The service is terrible. They put us in a room with loud broken air conditioning because raccoons are living in the ceiling, and played dumb about it. Well housekeeping told us people have been complaining for MONTHS and the hotel has nothing. The room they moved us to was much smaller. Rooms are old and outdated, furniture is broken, keycard readers are slow and finnicky. Crazy that for $1000 a night this place doesn't even have a hotel bar. No restaurant, no pool. We knew all that coming in but not really sure what they're charging $1k a night for with virtually zero amenities. They pride themselves on all of their front desk staff being "dedicated concierges" and their "concierge service" was useless. Literally saw them googling on their phones to answer our questions. I've stayed at nicer Marriott's-this place is mediocre AT BEST and not worth giving your money to. Stay elsewhere when you visit SF.
google avatar

Alesia B.

Yelp
Carly or carla is a nightmare. She said there were no two room suites available and she lied. I contacted American express and they did have the rooms available and i had to book online after showing up to the hotel and being lied to. Im standing in the lobby now waiting to check in its been 25 minutes. Literally. Ive spent thousands here and their check in service still sucks. Great room horrible service.

Yelp
My feelings are very mixed; I come from a family of builders and interior designers. While at first glance the units are clean and modern I found the layout to be quite claustrophobic with no flow. I was told our room was going to have a city view but upon walking in I saw nothing but a vent out of the one windowed narrow glass door. Okay so granted, nice appliances, cozy gas fireplace, flat screen tv's but what's the point if you can hear EVERY footstep above your sleeping head!!! Yes! You heard me, clearly the builders did not properly insulate the hardwood floors above my $900 2 bedroom suite, as evidenced by the throbbing headache and big bags under my eyes right now!! I am pissed. Furthermore, my mattress, well, I needed the help of my daughter to pull me from the middle of the mattress because it sinks in the middle.
google avatar

Faye V.

Yelp
They are selling the units - so we were quite lucky to score a room before they were all sold. It was our girls weekend, and we couldn't ask for more. It's the nature of the city for traffic to make things difficult. Be prepared to jump out and get your luggage together. Once we were inside, it was like walking into a set of a Design Star Makeover Challenge and the designer won. The style is simple, contemporary and elegant. Although you can see some wear and tear on the floor rugs, it's still commendable at how clean they keep everything. The staff that greeted us was incredible - simply courteous. Our room wasn't quite ready, but they were apologetic and we didn't mind too much. The room was a fantastic 2-bedroom in Mustard Terrace. The biggest perk? Our patio spanned the whole second floor with the gazebo, overlooking Ghirardelli Square, right over the mermaid fountains. In addition, Alcatraz was a our view and the piers were a walk away. The unit had high ceilings, fully furnished kitchen, surround sound, and exposed brick. We felt like small-time celebrities. They have free breakfast for the guests, an extensive DVD library and a nice lounge. There are fireplaces and great seating areas everywhere. We lost hot water for some hours in the morning. It through a wrench in our plans, but the unit was so comfortable, we didn't mind staying in. Bottom line - if you have the budget to treat yourself to an urban getaway, this is one of the best places to go. You'll feel right at home.

Yelp
We just wrapped up a four night stay here. It was great. Great location and the units were very nice and clean. The staff was very nice. There was a small issue with the fire alarm in the morning and it was fixed quickly but the General Manager Edward was so great. He made up for it very nicely. The continental breakfast was very good and had a great selection for my Wife and I but also our picky kids. I would highly recommend this place to family and friends. Thanks Edward to you and all of the employees for making it a great trip.

Yelp
Great service makes all the difference. Our recent stay was a fantastic one. The concierge staff on duty this time around offered the type of friendly and professional service that was missing from our previous experience. The rooms are gorgeous, with a full kitchen, beautiful glass shower and plush beds. As other posters have mentioned, valet is included, as well as a service car which takes you to any location within a 2 mile radius. A great business, to me, is defined by how well they treat their customers. The Fairmont Heritage has proven that they sincerely care about their guests' experiences. Thanks to the GM, we are huge fans of this beautiful hotel and look forward to coming back again when we're in the area.
google avatar

Lam N.

Yelp
See this as a premium 'serviced apartment' that happens to rent by the day. It is extremely practical for families with its large 2- or even 3-bedroom suites. But a luxury hotel it ain't - no water bottle in the rooms, no slippers, no hot breakfast, and no turndown service in the evening, but the rates kind of reflect that.

Yelp
Libby is lit. The bar here is amazing. Great bartenders who are super friendly and amazing drinks

Yelp
This is a beautiful property, as you would expect with a Fairmont, with comfortable, well appointed rooms. As great as the facility is, the staff is even better. The front desk, bell men, butlers, housekeeping were all first rate. I'm not a fan of touristy locations. And I have always stayed far away from this area, I'll admit I was a little worried the location would be crowded & noisy, but not so. The big crowds are closer to Fisherman's Wharf & the street in front of the hotel was actually not busy at all. The shops in the square are closed by 8 & there were no issues with noise, even in our room overlooking the fire pit in the square. The location is convenient to the cable cars & public transit. The residences are in fantastic shape, very clean & convenient. I'm not one to cook on vacation, but if you are so inclined, the kitchen is certainly adequate. A light continental breakfast is offered each morning & the afternoon wine & cheese was a nice touch. A huge plus for us was the house car that will take you within 2 miles of the hotel. This was particularly nice during peak times in public transit. We called after dinner & were picked up within 15-20 minutes & driven back to the front door. I would definitely stay here again anytime again!

Yelp
My car is ghetto, I admit it. However, the valet giving me attitude because of my car is a bit much. You do not own the street and all the parking on it, sorry. If a space is metered it belongs to the citizenry in general. On my last stay the valet essentially told some asshole in a Mercedes it was OK to steal my spot and nearly run my friend over because of the cost differentials of our respective cars. I was there first and I was aggressive enough to still get the spot, and unlike the Mercedes asshole I didn't care if my car get keyed when I left it there, haha. The perks of having a beater. What the valet apparently didn't realize is that we was also staying at your hotel. I will never stay at this Fairmont again. Such primitive classicism isn't really acceptable. Do you morons know how many techhead billionaires drive Civics from 1995? :P

Yelp
Amazing!!! Staff is lovely, Peter, Jeremy and Spencer are really nice. :) They have a wine and cheese tasting that's fun in the lounge area where you can spy on the shoppers at Ghiradelli Square while playing pool and sipping wine. The 2 bedroom/2 bath was lovely. I'm DEFINITELY coming here for more occasions! I came for my bday. Had a dinner party and drinks after it was great.. the staff brought up my guests for me so I didn't have to keep going down which i really appreciated!! and they all were so attentive. We rode in the Maserati too! :) Super modern, nicely furnished, direct tv on huge flat screens, fully stocked kitchen necessities, it was just lovely!!! It doesn't matter if you live in the city like I do.. or are coming to SF for vacation.. this is a must!! and you can just walk down to have ice cream and cupcakes!!! (at Kara's and Ghiradelli Chocolate place)

Yelp
LOL I'm just cracking up at Jennifer's review. Everything is absolutely top notch and true about this place. I was lucky enough to grab a 2 bedroom luxury condo here for a night. Places like this are exactly why I cannot stay at cheap hotels anymore. I've been spoiled. They have everything you could possibly need to just move in. Flat screen TV's in every room. Full home theater. Full kitchen. Attached bathtub and shower. Full walk-in closets. Washer/dryer. Patio. Full EVERYTHING! C'mon, they have a butler that will drive you to Safeway in a Maserati Quattroporte. Safeway guys! Freakin' Safeway in a freakin' Maserati! Yes, you can buy partial ownership in these condos and if you can afford it, I'd like to be your friend as well.

Yelp
We had an amazing time here to celebrate the night before our Wedding. I loved it. My wife loved it. Our friends and family also loved it. We booked a night at the 2 bedroom condo in the cocoa building with the ocean side view (I highly recommend that you choose this over the city view). It was beautiful, spacious, and clean. The staff was very nice, accommodating, and professional. They took great care of us and went above and beyond to make our stay special. The town car service was also really great and convenient. We wished we could have stayed longer! I highly recommend the Fairmont Heritage Place. This place deserves 5 stars and more.

Yelp
If I can take this hotel anywhere I travel, I would! This is my dream hotel! We booked a 2 bed/2.5 bath suite and were amazed at how attentive and friendly everyone at this place was. The entire suite was beautiful and modern. It came with all updated appliances (dishwasher, stove, microwave, fridge, and wine cooler) and an ipad for your use. We also had a fireplace and lots of movies to choose from. Plus, they will deliver you popcorn if you should stay in and watch a movie! How's that for service? We also loved the terrace where you can unwind and get a great view of Fisherman's Wharf and the beautiful San Francisco sunset. One of my guests who came to visit us also was amazed by the place. He has worked at other hotels before and was amazed by the suite and staff - all very professional and made you feel at home. I cannot wait to return!

Yelp
We stayed here through Exclusive Resorts. Our two-bedroom apartment was beautiful - right under the big illuminated iconic sign - with a direct view of THE ROCK/Alcatraz. We were treated very nicely. The decor was beautiful - in a somewhat superficial way. Some of the appointments in the room could have been nicer. I wish the Continental breakfast wasn't so Continental. I stayed in the Tahoe Exclusive Resort location at the Ritz resort and it was far far nicer. I know SF is more expensive, but still - couldn't compare.

Yelp
Rude rude rude....manager has no control over her mouthy staff. The concierge is completely rude and incompetent. Every single request we had could not be met, for one reason or another. We were accused of being loud and got a noise complaint the first night we arrived and we went to bed at 10pm. NO ROOM SERVICE!!! You have to order from outside restaurants and it's an additional fee. When we used our own car service (because theirs was continuously problematic) the bell man were rude to our driver too!? Half of the time the staff was no where to be found. Great location...great idea...but they need to re-staff and get the customer care under control. We are leaving today to go and stay at the St. Regis where they have no issues with accommodating our needs.

Yelp
Great hotel unless you need your room. It's 5:30 , no rooms even though I've paid the 550 dollars for the room. One person at front desk and the line is extending almost out the door...I'm sure the rooms are great if you could actually get your key. I called the manager and no answer.

Yelp
Wow! Wow! Wow! I got the opportunity to stay at this wonderful hotel after bidding on it at a United Way auction. My wife is due to have our first child in 6 weeks so this was our "baby moon". They did not disappoint! The service was top notch, the rooms breath taking! I know what item I am bidding on every year!!! By the way we stayed in room 402, we highly recommend it, as the views are stunning!

Yelp
Best place to stay in San Francisco! We had the pleasure of staying in a 2 bedroom residence overlooking the square, and it exceeded our expectations. Location - Excellent. Walking distance to the wharf and piers. Near a park and grocery stores. Near enough to walk to Union Square, but not recommended because of the hills.. (Yes, we're crazy and walked there pushing a baby stroller.) Take the trolley instead which has pickup/drop-off points near both. Only about a block away from Gary Danko. Also great views from any of the terraces. We especially loved taking some drinks up to mustard terrace and enjoying the view of Alcatraz while sitting next to the fire pit. Residence - Modern and well kept. Loved the decor. I liked the tall windows and exposed brink everywhere that gave this place some real character. The fireplace gave it a cozy feel. And I was really impressed by the large kitchen and dining room that left a lot of room to cook up a good meal... Lots of room in the entire place for me, my hubby and our baby. They had a crib, high chair, and baby bath products already set out for us when we arrived. I liked the fact that they had a washer/dryer there in the residence in case we needed it too. This place is bigger and better than a lot of 2br apartments in NYC. I'd love it if this was my home. Def gave me some inspiration on my next place. Service - Friendly and professional. They got us everything, from air freshener and extra chocolates to reservations on the tour to Alcatraz and an suv to the airport with a car seat in it. The house suv was also a plus. They even offered to follow us to the car rental place so that we didn't have to walk back to the hotel. Some nights they had 2 suvs roaming the city to take people out. Other pros: Inclusive daily continental breakfast wasn't the typical continental you get at other hotels either. There is a nice array of well stocked hard boiled eggs, hot toast/bagels, pastries, fresh fruit and juices. You really don't need much more. And the hot coffee and teas that are constantly stocked throughout the day in the pool room were good touches. The wine and cheese hour was also nicely laid out. We'll be back here on our next trip to SF...

Yelp
The condos are good and everyone is very friendly. We got a two bedroom condo. With the turn down service you get a chocolate on your pillow but no slippers. I did like they put soft music on for the turndown so you come in with a cozy atmosphere. There were some issues with the condo and maintenance took care of them right away. I loved that the concierge was available by text anytime you needed anything. The house car was great also. We were able to go almost anywhere (within two miles) we needed to except to the airport. The amenities is where this hotel really lacked. The continental breakfast should have been better for the $1100 / night pice tag on the condo. I would have expected an on facility spa and restaurant a full breakfast (like the Embassy Suites has). I would have liked a better sound barrier with the walls that share the hallway. There is so much banging and loud noises it was hard to relax without getting startled by a huge pounding noise. The view was top notch. As for the furnishings, the beds were ok, not the best and the sofa in the condo was not comfortable at all. Any time you sat on it the cushions would be falling off. I wouldn't stay here again because the price tag doesn't match the amenities. Oh and before I forget, late checkout, I asked one gentleman if it was available and right away he said no the next morning I called to the main concierge I was working with, Michael (5stars for him) and I was given an extra hour for checkout which is nice I got the hour but paying so much it would have been nice to get a 1 pm or 2 pm checkout.

Yelp
Located in a really nice area where you can see out into the water and if you walk a little further down to the water you can see the Golden Gate Bridge . The place itself is pretty with a lot of small shops in the square as well as the chocolate store when you can buy food . Everything's always a little too sweet for me I always have to share . Not much else to it though I always thought it would be more "amazing" But it's a cute place to go and one of those touristy places in sf

Yelp
Loved Loved this place! Would love to buy this place if I can. We had the 2 bedroom residence that gave you a view of the bay where we slept upstairs and my in-laws and kids slept downstairs. Just a perfect setup for big family stays. The place is beautifully furnished and spacious - modern with all the amenities you need including free Wi-Fi so we can get on the internet from our laptops. They also have a small laundry and dryer set with Tide detergent. Place is so convenient to nearby attractions - Exploratorium, Cable Cars, Alcatraz, Fisherman's Wharf. They have "free" car shuttle service that takes you almost anywhere in San Francisco, extremely helpful if you want to go to a restaurant and parking is difficult on the streets. I sort of wish they had an indoor swimming pool...just wishful thinking since my kids were itching to go to a pool during the summer. I look forward to the breakfast downstairs - the fresh fruits - those blueberries were fat and sweet - my 6 year old daughter got spoiled on those big blueberries every day plus their scrumptious pastries. They also offer bagels, cereal and hard boiled eggs. The tea selection is fabulous. I like coffee but their own specialty teas are divine to drink, particularly the Fairmount Organic Vanilla Orchid tea. The beds were super comfy and we slept very well even on the first night. Kids appreciate the daily Ghiradhelli chocolates every day on their pillows. DEFINITELY WILL COME BACK when we're visiting San Francisco . TRULY ONE OF THE NICEST PLACES TO STAY IN THIS WORLD.

Yelp
In the lovely light of a fresh new day, I'll just back my review up with the facts for those that feel it necessary to dispute its validity. http://www.fairmontheritageplace.com/content/destinations/sanfrancisco_amenities.asp

Yelp
The Fairmont Heritage Place is fantastic! The bedrooms are amazingly clean! They had a washing machine and a really big kitchen! A fireplace! 2 bedrooms with bathrooms in them! The service was so convenient! They brought up our luggage's and even checked on us asked us if we needed anything! I think this place is amazing! I would stay here again! SO MANY TIMES!!!!

Yelp
Stayed here recently and it was amazing. It was very spacious to host for a party and the living area was extremely clean and well decorated. Only thing that didn't go well during the stay was the power went out in the neighborhood, not Fairmont's fault, and only certain area's had power in the unit. Aside from that, it's a beautiful hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Wow. Was invited to a Blue Angels Viewing Party here a month ago. The hotel is rustic and beautiful and the patio was...amazing. Great views of the Bay, Golden Gate Bridge, and the catered food was yummy.

Yelp
It was a good hotel but I was unhappy with the a/c system in my unit.. Also it was sold to me as a 3 bedroom unit but one of the bedrooms was also the second floor loft that then made it so we could never go out on the balcony. Service was very good. Location is good but it's a bit loud at night due to the popularity of the downstairs venue's..
