Fairmount Flavors - Review - Fairmount - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Fairmount Flavors serves desserts like water ice, ice cream cookie and waffle sandwiches, shakes, and even donuts. But it’s what you can do with your soft serve that really gets our attention. Outside of having flavors like Reese’s swirl, black raspberry, and maple walnut, you can pack all those options into chocolate cake, chocolate chip, and rainbow specialty cones. The soft serve is fat-free and the flavors constantly rotate, so if you see something you really like, just go for it. They also have toppings like fresh pineapple, whipped cream and cherry, and just about any type of candy." - Candis R. McLean

The amount of flavors that you can choose and mix are pretty nice. What's not nice are the SEVERAL PIECES OF PLASTIC that I found in my milkshake. Not really ideal to have probably swallowed some plastic already, as it was half way when I noticed. Not food safe, and I'll be looking to contact elsewhere for a more reasonable form of action to be taken against this place.

Google
I ordered pistachio water ice twice now from Door Dash and both times they sent me something else besides what I ordered!!! They sent an absolutely DISGUSTING pistachio ice cream/mango ice gelato.. and an all blueberry ice when I ordered blueberry pistachio. Thais is my last order from them.

Happened to walk by on our way to visit Eastern state penitentiary. Some of the best ice cream we’ve had!!! The Reese’s swirl was 10/10! My daughter got the new bubblegum flavor and we all liked it way more than we thought we would! Definitely plan on stopping back next time we’re in the city

Google
Open late and they offer soooo many flavors 😍

Kat

Google
The last three times I have ordered from them on Doordash, they gave hard, chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla custard with the strawberry shortcake sundae. The ice cream itself is good but the repeated inaccuracy is very disappointing, won’t be ordering again.

Google
the have a new bubble gum flavor and it sooo good! You can also get your hands on pumpkin flavor all year!!! Does get busy when the weather is nice out so expect to wait in line during peak hours.

As an avid member of the cult following of the preceding “Philly flavors” I’d like to say that the new ownership and name of Fairmount Flavors has its pros and cons, but carries the weight well. The flavors of the ice cream are rich and tasteful, some are on the overly sweet side (coming from an extreme sweet toothed person) and some of the water ice flavors can be a hit or miss due to its watery/icey-ness (In not the best way as the flavor seems muted). Some flavors are beautifully as close to natural as an ice cream shop can get, while others are laughably artificial. Yes, I’m looking at you, pistachio ice cream. However, my last visit encouraged me to leave a review as I tried the black cherry ice cream (8/10, very sweet but a good balance with the natural cherries, almost like dark maraschino) and a gelati of mango ice cream and mango water ice. Both flavors were great especially together, however i would prefer to do without the fruit flies that may be embedded in the barrel at this point. (I can’t blame them, I’d live in there too!) The waffle was fresh, light and flaky, the cookies were not the soft kind but still good, and we were given some kind of mystery flavor order that was not ours. This review is mixed, but overall I will be returning anyways, potential fruit flies and all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Actual ice cream products are fantastic. Stay away from cookies and other pastries. It can be a long wait but it’s usually worth it.

Yelp
Order at window only, menu is very expansive and there's really something for everyone. Honestly hard to pick just one thing! Service is friendly and not the most expensive ice cream in the city which is not appreciated. Really a staple of the Fairmount area
google avatar

Amber K.

Yelp
The service here is very quick, even on a hot busy day. I got the twist soft serve on a cone and it was absolutely delicious. The size of the ice cream is also decent so even though it might feel like a splurge it's not too bad for what you get

Bryce K.

Yelp
The flavors were pretty unremarkable and a fair amount of freezer burn. Service was friendly and fast. In a city with many places serving better ice cream I would pass on this one.

Yelp
Tbh, the amount of choices you'd have to make is a bit overwhelming. But prices are decent and portions are generous. I got a single scoop of Nutella and on receipt it's labeled "kid size", but it was a very generous scoop, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Location may be out of the way a bit, and the streets are not all lit at night, but it was worth the 15 min walk from where we were staying.

Yelp
This is what water ice is all about! Super delicious. Great service as well. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

Yelp
Middling to poor experience with Fairmount Flavors. Let's start with the positive - menu options are solid, lots of variety and uniqueness. The location is convenient. The server was nice, if a bit disinterested (she was wearing AirPods). The negatives -- 1) The prices are exorbitant. Two scoops goes for $6, and if you add a few standard toppings you're paying $10 or more. Wild stuff. 2) They did not clean the spoon prior to scooping my ice cream. Tons of orange looking ice cream / water ice mixed into my flavors. Really hated to see that. 3) My ice cream had a bunch of ice chunks in it, and really everything was just generally kind of icy and not smooth or creamy like the best ice cream spots. Could have just been a bad day, and I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and come back again - will confirm one way or another. Really wanted to like it here but came away disappointed!

Yelp
As the other Yelpers have mentioned, the sweets here are a bit of a splurge. But to me, they're worth it. Personally, I'm addicted to their slammers with lime Italian ice. I'm also a huge fan of their popular gelato custard with vanilla ice cream and mango Italian ice. On a hot day, there's nothing more satisfying than having a smooth, silky, and refreshing vanilla custard ice cream along with the sweet and tangy mango Italian ice. Service here is pretty quick. Even when there's a line, they don't take too long to serve each customer. And since it's a take-out only spot, don't expect to get a seat inside their shop since there isn't one. Fairmount is a beautiful neighborhood with lots of scenic areas to enjoy your icy treats though.

Joe C.

Yelp
30mins before they close and you cant get more then half the menu! guess they cleaned everything up and don't wanna make anything. if ya close at 11 you should be serving till 11. otherwise just close at 10:30 when you stopped working!

Janet C.

Yelp
I placed on order thru DoorDash. I didn't receive the funnel cake that I ordered. I thought doordash driver forgot to give it to me. I tried calling Fairmount Flavors a few times that night to let them know but no one answered. I got thru to someone the following day, they forgot to give it to the driver, knew they messed up and didn't care enough to do something about it. I thought it was the driver that messed up. I was offered a free pretzel. What a joke.

Yelp
I take my frozen desserts very seriously, and I do not exaggerate when I say the best Italian custard that I have had in a long time, perhaps ever. The cone was also DELICIOUS - not stale or tasting preservative-packed. The italian "water ice" is also quite good, depending on the flavor. Some of them taste quite artificial, but that is the experience of eating Italian ice! I found the coconut and the passionfruit to be mild and more natural tasting than, say, the tangerine. service excellent; multiple samples. GET THE ITALIAN CUSTARD ICE CREAM !!!

Tyrone G.

Yelp
The service was terrible they wasn't doing they whole menu. They screamed out at a line full of people and said the only taking 2 more people. Then on top of that they rushed orders out getting multiple people orders wrong and the cashier was rude
google avatar

Alise R.

Yelp
My running club does water ice Wednesday and this is our spot!! We came here last night and there was just a short line. This store is super popular so it is rare to come here without a line. After explaining what water ice and gelatis are to several new club runners from other countries (lol) I put in my order for a (new flavor) peach gelati. It was huge, delicious and $5. Everyone in our group left a satisfied customer. (note: I do not recommend running a mile home post gelati ice eating)

Yelp
Stopped in before a tour at Eastern State Penitentiary and it was the perfect thing to help me cool down. There was a line out on the sidewalk and people were called up to the window to order. This place has a huge menu with what seems like something for everyone. I got a small half mango/half watermelon Italian ice. The small size was $4 and was huge! Way more than I actually wanted but a good value. The favors didn't stand out. My husband tried the new Fairmont donuts with Nutella. They're basically zeppolis with Nutella on top. They were hot, fresh and delicious but also cost like $13 for a pretty small portion. Not sure I could recommend at that price but I suppose they're there if you're looking to try something different!
google avatar

JJ L.

Yelp
This ice cream shop located across eastern state penitentiary usually has a line outside anytime apart from Winter. There's no seating, all to-go. The gelato (pictured left) is nice and refreshing - it's actually more like flavored ice with soft serve. That's a small! Recc to order the kids size!

Yelp
Fairmount Flavors unquestionably has good homemade ice cream. Is it the best I've ever had? No. Is it the most ludicrously overpriced? No. Are the prices reasonable? No. A side of sprinkles (jimmies) is $1.50! If you picked up a cooked chicken from Sprouts, Shoprite, Wegman's, etc and bought just over a pound of broccoli crowns or string beans, along with enough potatoes to cut and bake, you can feed a family of four for the same or less than what Fairmount Flavors charges for a quart of Ice cream or frozen custard or water ice. Places like Van Leeuwen Ice Cream are obnoxiously greedy. With the prices they charge for good- not phenomenal ice cream, they are better suited for a name that explains what's occurring- Baskin-Robbins. Why? They are robbing you. Baskin-Robbin is 1/3 to just over 40% less for a quart of ice cream. There are better tasting and lower priced homemade ice cream shops in the Hamptons of New York. I would love Tanner Brothers Dairy in Ivyland (Bucks County) to take their ice cream and franchise it. That's superb homemade ice cream, and it's affordable. That's likely the reason they've been thriving for over 100 years. They have consistently excellent quality dairy products, produce, and more. For almost 1/2 the price, you can get a gallon of homemade ice cream that puts Fairmount Flavors to shame. Which brings up a good word- "shame" in the owner of Fairmount Flavors to over charge. It's a little fish not far from Fishtown.

Yelp
I'll be honest, the ice cream here is not great. It's icy, not very creamy, and isn't flavorful. It's homemade and yet tastes like the Turkey Hill you'd get at the grocery store. However, Fairmount isn't exactly teeming with ice cream places. If you want something in the neighborhood, this is really your only option for a proper store that's in Fairmount proper (not a truck). They do have plenty of flavors and different options (sundaes, milkshakes, water ice, etc.). But it's not cheap, it's not good, and there's always a long wait in the summer since there are no other options close by. Fine enough if you want to support a local spot without traveling to a different part of the city with better options, or are so hot that you need to cool down, but if you're looking for great ice cream, this isn't it.

Yelp
Late evening snack attack at Philly Flavors. I haven't been here since the summer before COVID hit. The store is now and a window that you order at, told your # and then you wait for someone to open and hand you your order. Most of the help was nice but this one young lady's attitude was that of impatience and not friendly when she would bring the customers their order. She would buck her eyes and open her mouth dropping her lip out of frustration. I was hoping not to get her. There were lots of people standing around waiting for their order. The wait wasn't terrible but it definitely took about 10-15 mins to get my complete order. I ordered a large gelato pineapple, tangy orange and homemade hand dipped vanilla gelato. It was so good and flavorful no pun intended. It cost$6.50 for the large. My daughter had the brownie mint chocolate chip and Reese's ice cream. She says it was the beat everrrrrrrrrr! My other daughter had the peach and vanilla gelato. Of course I slipped my spoon for a taste or two. I wanted to trade. I LOVED THE PEACH. I began sing Just Bieber's song about Georgia peaches. lol! It was super yummy!!!! This pandemic has removed some of the fun out of coming to Philly Flavors but I'm thankful that the the ice cream was super cream my smoothie and the water ice was packed with lots flavor. I highly recommend this place. Just pray you don't get the young lady with the tude to bring your order.

Robert B.

Yelp
A general ice cream parlor. Service is bad, the flavors are basic and not great. I feel like the ice cream is just a generic off brand of turkey hill. If there were any other ice cream spots in Fairmount this would be out of business in a month. P.s. always check to see if your order is correct. It seems like purposely miss stuff.

Yelp
Context: It's summer in Philly. Extremely hot outside lately. We just got done with a full week of daily mid 90s temperature. Last night (Friday), I walked here for ice cream. The woman at the window asked for my order, before placing it, I asked her clearly "do you all have rainbow sprinkles?" to which she assuringly replied "yes". (In the past I've ordered my ice cream with rainbow sprinkles only to arrive home and open up my ice cream drowning in chocolate sprinkles. And that sucks) I ordered a large choco-chip cookie dough with rainbow sprinkles to-go. They package it for you in a brown paper bag when it's a to-go order. When it was ready I took my brown paper bag and walked home. I wasn't going to open my ice cream until I got out of the sun; didn't want it to melt on me. I got home and I immediately opened my order. It already started melting. There were no sprinkles on it. Immediately, I called the ice cream shop and the same woman who I ordered my ice cream with answered. I gave her my order number and told her that my order had no sprinkles on it despite asking specifically for rainbow sprinkles and having it on my receipt. She asked me if I could come back immediately. I said no because it was a long walk there and back. She asked me to return the next day (Saturday). She also asked me to bring my receipt so that she could rectify the incorrect order and fix their mistake. I agreed to give them a chance to do the right thing. Today (Saturday) I walked back to the ice cream shop. It's still hot outside, mind you. A different person greeted me at the window. (She's very kind and she cares about customers.) I explained to her that I was told to come back today with my receipt because I was served an incorrect order yesterday. The person who dealt with my order yesterday was standing right behind her. Her coworker said "hey Rafa, do you know what this is about, your name is on the receipt so you should." Rafa approached the window and looked at the receipt and it seemed like she was embarrassed. It was like she didn't want her others to see that there was a mistake made and that she promised a customer that they could come in the next day and be taken care of. I was confused and I didn't see the big deal. Rafa asked me if I called yesterday. I said "yes, it was me that called and was told to come in with my receipt so that you could fix things with my incorrect order." She then asked what was wrong with the order. I explained myself yet again. She walked to the back of the shop. Then she returned with a cookie dough ice cream with rainbow sprinkles. I kindly reminded her that it was a to-go order, because she didn't pack it to-go this time. She rudely said "normally what is supposed to happen is you come back here and I just give you sprinkles." (That's stupid - why would someone ask me to walk and sweat to come and collect sprinkles after they are responsible for making the error?) I kindly asked her to clarify what her attitude was about. I reminded her (again) that I specifically asked for rainbow sprinkles yesterday and I walked all the way home and it wasn't until then that I opened up my order and saw that there were no sprinkles on it. I then kindly reminded her that I immediately called and reported the issue upon discovering it and it was her that asked me to come back so things could be rectified. She told me that she should just give me sprinkles as she accused me of eating the incorrect order from yesterday - a false accusation which I took offense to. That was extremely rude. And when I told her that she is incorrect in accusing me of eating an order that I didn't even order, she smirked at me so as to call me a liar. She went back to put the order in a paper bag and the other person who was kind was sent to speak with me outside. Before she got to speak, the Rafa woman came back with my ice cream in a bag and as she handed it to me said "there it is, you wanna open it and check it this time?" with a disgusting sassy attitude and she walked off. Very rude. Pitiful customer service. For crying out loud, they serve mid ice cream. Even if it was gourmet, no customer deserves to be treated with disrespect for the shop's errors. Rafa's attitude was gross, uncalled for, offensive, micro-aggressive, passive-aggressive, unkind, rude, all the things. The customer service has long been something I've been weary of from this establishment but it has simply reach a new all-time low. Absolutely pitiful.

Yelp
The servings here are huge ; a small in a cup is enough for two people at least. The flavors are hit or miss; the Reece's swirl is great but the pistachio was VILE. Service is fine( you order at the window). Convenient albeit pricey
google avatar

Yelp
Found this little gem in our neighborhood. They have a bunch of ice cream sandwiches, blends, and drinks. The menu says you can make your own but they said that wasn't available that night. They had run out of some of the sandwiches as well so we were a bit limited in selection. But I ended up getting the strawberry icecream sandwich and it was great. They're rock hard at the beginning so you have to wait at least 25 minutes before you can try to eat them, but once they soften a bit they taste amazing! They had a line up when we got there, but it moved pretty fast. I couldn't read the menu while waiting in line so they gave me a printout menu to look at while I waited. The ice creams were ready pretty quick after we ordered! I'd go back to try some other flavors!
google avatar

Dawud M.

Yelp
The flavors taste like what they're supposed too. Just like the fruit they claim. Not overly sweet, just enough to be damn good!!!
google avatar

Phylicia H.

Yelp
First time here and will definitely be back! I always walk past this place and there's usually a long line of people.Service was great and the girls working inside were all extremely friendly. I agree with other reviews that it is a bit overpriced, but the portions are generous and I am helping out a local business so I didn't mind. I ordered a small Oreo yogurt cup w/chocolate crunchies on top. Obviously wasn't as good as ice cream, but it was still very tasty and I would order it again. They had a decent amount of options for toppings so will do that next time. My bf ordered the chocolate chip house sandwich with Oreo ice cream and it was soo good. We both agreed that the ice cream was good, but not great. The cookie was the star of the show and was absolutely delicious. Will be back to try the gelati or sundae next time!

Yelp
Had been yearning for a funnel cake , I finally got it . They have chopped down the menu , so no toppings on it . I also got a milkshake so creamy and thick , I'll be back
google avatar

Yelp
Their location is just perfect. After coming out of the Pennsylvania Eastern State penitentiary and being under a hot and humid weather, a cone of ice cream is just what you need. . I was glad the line wasn't that long yet. They have a wide selection of flavors. I had the rocky road. Great combination of almonds and sweet chocolate cream. One serving to me is huge. Loved it and finished it to the last bite.

Yelp
Always busy in the afternoon - I'm sure many folks around the area are addicted to this place. We tried their Italian ice ... their size small is like a overflown Starbucks Grande. We had difficulty finishing it with two people sharing. I'm not sure how anyone can finish one on their own without feeling overwhelmed by the sweetness. Our tongues were a different color by the time we finished our Italian ice. My guess is they use artificial flavoring/color and not real fruit juice. It tasted good but probably won't be coming back for the sake of my health. Still interested in checking this place out? Don't be intimidated by the sea of people in line & waiting, it's a short wait. Overall: cheap, large quantity, low quality
google avatar

Glen F.

Yelp
I think it's under new ownership. Everyone seems to be enjoying what they've gotten such as ice cream and water ice. I've enjoyed my Oreos and cream ice cream.
google avatar

Markell R.

Yelp
Ice cream is so good. This is a recommendation. I hope they see versus a review..shouldn't an order come out together? I got my ice cream and then my boyfriends ice cream didn't come out for another 10-15 minutes. So obviously I had eaten all mine before he even got his. And it's not like it was a sundae with a ton of stuff, it was simple scoop of ice cream with hot fudge.

Yelp
Had an ice cream date with my bestest the other day and I was not disappointed. I had a chocolate and butter almond milkshake while the bestest had funnel cake with butter almond on top. She orders better . I loved my milkshake. The bestest had some concerns about the consistency of her funnel cake. All in all we had a great time. My nephew loved his brownie sundae though.

Yelp
This place has the best water ice in the entire city. Hands down! It is worth every single penny you pay! Every flavor I've had has been nothing short of amazing. My favorites so far are black raspberry, passion fruit, mango, sour apple, kiwi, kiwi strawberry & cherry. Their ice cream is almost as delicious as their water ice. Every flavor I've tried has been great! & the service is always exceptional. This place is definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere near the area & have a craving for ice cream or water ice. I promise you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
As of circa 2021 you ladies are friggin killing it! Efficiency is amazing the long line is intimidating but it really moves! Accuracy my orders were uh specific, and they got each one perfect. Per usually I love the water ice and ice cream here it's the place I recommend over all else! Love this place again. I literally grew up around the corner from here at Girard College and it's so nostalgic to come here and order (and complain about how bad Fairmount pizza is lol). My first date was here so the past few years were kind of a bummer as it was always crowded and disorganized so I really do love what the ladies are bringing.
google avatar

Leigh C.

Yelp
Omg. I'm in love. The Cherry Italian is super amazing. And the hot fudge brownie super good. The staff was cheerful and kind and gave us free pretzels, unexpectedly! Cannot recommend enough.

Yelp
Sold us a bogus gift card for $25 with no money on it. Insisted we had used the card when they clearly hadn't loaded it

Yelp
With such outstanding reviews, I think I was overly excited to have my socks blown off when I got here. First, this is a review purely for the ice cream, many people seem to be mentioning the water ice, and coworkers I came with really enjoyed the water ice too. We came as a work outting with a few people, about 8, all ordering different things. I was excited to see you could create your own chipwich, but opted for a hot fudge sundae instead. Even at 1 pm on a Friday, this place was pretty busy. We didn't have to wait long, but it had a steady flow of people coming in and out. The young woman behind the counter was friendly but not very helpful and messed up a few people's orders in our party. I had asked her about the crazy vanilla, how it differed from the regular vanilla, and she said in no ways, it just had sprinkles mixed into the ice cream. So in an effort to be festive in my work outting, I went with the crazy vanilla. The outcome of my sundae was a giant bowl of ice cream. lathered in delicious fudge. I was sadly not impressed with the crazy vanilla at all. It lacked sweetness, creaminess, overall umpf! If it wasn't for the fudge on top, this would've been a fail for me. Another thing I would've preferred was seeing the actual ice cream flavors as they do in other shops, and possibly asking for a taste. This place did not preview any of the ice cream and I just missed that. I don't know if I would return for ice cream, possibly just to try one of the famous fire ices instead.

Rick D.

Yelp
This is definitely a place that you'll come back to more than once! There are so many great options to pick from, no matter what you will find something you will like
google avatar

Kathy V.

Yelp
I think this place deserves a solid 4 stars. Granted it is the only place I was able to get water ice on my short visit to Philly....but it was wonderful! A neighborhood type of feel to the place. A LOT of flavor options, and they certainly don't break the bank. They actually operate out of two adjacent store fronts, so if one looks crazy-busy, look next door! The line might be shorter. Both times I got a medium watermelon water ice. And both times I wish I had gotten a large. Philly Flavors was very close to our Airbnb, and according to Yelp they are open until 11 on weekdays and midnight on weekends. Had I known this sooner....I would have gone every night!

C C.

Yelp
please please teach the employees how to properly serve ice cream on a cone. Service is quick but every time you're given a lopsided unbalanced ice cream that's falling into your hands 1 min after you get it, super frustrating
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
I stopped in after riding my bike in town and checking out a few spots, this was close to my Airbnb and I truly enjoyed the stop to get this amazing butter pecan gem. I believe just one photo is enough to know how it deserved a portrait shot lol.

Megan B.

Yelp
Conveniently located but... overpriced and the ice cream quality has gone down significantly over the last 2-3 years
google avatar

Jasmine R.

Yelp
I bought a medium ice cream in a cup, and split it between 2 flavors. The hubby bought the same, but dipped in chocolate with a waffle cone. Mine was around $5, his was around $10. While it was absolutely delicious and the portions are large, unless if you get a plain ole cup you WILL be paying a premium for the toppings/cones/any extras. The lines can also be ridiculously long with only one person in the back, so be prepared to wait if there is a line!
google avatar

Bob H.

Yelp
This place is flat out terrible! I don't see what all the hype is about. First off, it's Fairmount and finding a parking space is nearly impossible. Second the ice cream is not that good. We arrived around 9:30 and their open until midnight. They were out of the majority of flavors. We went with a coffee and an Oreo. The coffee was flavored okay I guess. The Oreo was literally freezer burnt. Right in the trash that went. The portions are large but that isn't always a good thing. I'd much rather have quality over quantity. We ordered smalls and they were obnoxiously large. Their prices are a bit high as well. Another thing is it takes forever to get your ice cream. We ordered 2 cones and it took close to 15 minutes, there were only 2 people ahead of us. 2 stars for the sugar cone..
google avatar

Katie O.

Yelp
This ice cream store is over priced and the service is awful. They are always out of most of their flavors and the ice cream is just ok. I gave it an extra star because if you do decide to to get ice cream they give you quite a bit of ice cream.

Amy R.

Yelp
Friendly staff, easy to find and wonderful ice cream! Def would go back! Glad we found this place!
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
Typical ice cream spot in the heart of Fairmount. The sizes are more than generous, so get the small because it's literally a large. Many, many, many options and reasonably priced for what you get. Biggest downfall is the lines out the door and the v slow service. In all, gets the job done to satisfy that lil sweet tooth!

Yelp
Wow this location was out of business for a little bit & personally it can go back out of business because the service was so bad. You had two girls with an attitude problem and a guy who looked higher than my student loan payments. If I'm paying this much for ice cream I want at least good service. I really hope these are temp workers because if not you all have a problem on your hands. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth which is unfortunate because I really used to love this place. I'm really just shocked how bad the service was I can't even continue to express that. The only thing they have going is that they're the only ice cream place up this way. Pretty pathetic re-opening. Two stars because the people in the back were really nice, kind of made up for the rude people up front. Honestly Philly Flavors may want to get their act together.

Yelp
I was really craving a gelati so I stopped by Philly Flavors to give them a try for the first time. The service is great and extremely quick too - not only that, but the serving size is super big, my partner and I each got a small but we really should have just split one. I got the orange creamsicle water ice with vanilla custard and my partner got black raspberry ice with vanilla custard. The custard was incredible, super creamy and delicious and exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately though the ice fell through for us - we felt that the flavors were kind of muted? I understand for the orange creamsicle, maybe that's just how it is because it's already a more subtle flavor, but we expected the black raspberry to be nice and tart and bright. The ice just kind of really wasn't that great for us. Overall though we might give it a try again just to see if it just happened to be the two flavors we got. Next time we might also just try their ice cream or soft serve, as the custard certainly didn't disappoint. Their menu has an insane selection with tons of flavors, so there truly is something for everyone. Overall I think there are better places to get gelati in the city but if you want something super cheap and super huge, Philly Flavors is the place to stop by.

Yelp
A litttttle pricy if you ask me. But, the ice cream is good! Nice selection of ice cream, water ice, froyo, sundaes, shakes and more. Cookie Ice cream sandwiches are HUGE! This place gets packed in the summer! I had recently had a "make your own" cookie ice cream sandwich and got Reese's swirl ice cream sandwiched between two peanut butter cookies. It was HUGE and more than $6, but delicious. Update - they got my order wrong the last time I went which was annoying. I won't be back, I'd rather go to rite aid and get Ben and jerry's.

Yelp
Tastiness. We got an M&M cookie and chocolate chip cookie sandwich with Oreo ice cream to share and devoured it. While it was a little pricey at $6.21 (not something I'd order every day). The cookies were delicious and balanced very well with the Oreo ice cream. I will be back to have more Philly Flavors!
