11 Philly Pop-Ups To Know About This Summer - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Parks On Tap, a pop-up beer garden that usually travels to a new park around Philly every two weeks, has two “permanent” summer homes this year. The first is outside Fairmount Horticulture Center Arboretum, and the newest one is at Fairmount Water Works on the Schuylkill. They serve tons of different local beers, as well as a menu of bar food like pulled pork sandwiches and soft pretzels." - sydney mcelwee

We attended a staff holiday gala at Fairmount Water Works, and it was an unforgettable experience! Upon arrival, we were greeted by stunning marble floors and an upscale ambiance that set the tone for the evening. The venue offered incredible accommodations, including an open bar, various food stations, fresh seafood, Thai cuisine, and the perfect mix of entertainment with a live band and DJ. One of the highlights was watching the snow fall while overlooking the water—a magical and picturesque moment. Fairmount Water Works provided the perfect setting to kick off the holiday season in style. Highly recommend this venue for any special occasion!

We really enjoyed a free guided tour! Water works interpretive center has a lot of information about the local history and environment. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. It’s a beautiful and interesting place to visit.

I had never been to this park before. I had a modeling event that took place here , and oh boy was it beautiful. Something about this park really won me over and I can’t wait to come back here. I don’t even care that’s it’s an hour drive from me, the vibes were immaculate. Tons of people were taking pictures , there was a wedding going on and a quince photoshoot . The views are breathtaking and it’s right next to the Philly museum ! It reminded me of what parks look like in movies if that makes sense . Can’t recommend this place enough!

This historic water works has very nice architecture. We walked down from the back of the art museum through a historic trail/walkway down to the river side. Unfortunately since we went on a Sunday and we couldn't see the exhibits. There is a couple of event venues there. And you can walk out to see the dam and people fishing there.

A Philadelphia Essential in my book. I stumbled across this tucked-away gem while walking the river to see the famous Schuykill boathouses. What seems to be a simple, unassuming glass doorway opens a world below filled with history, ingenuity, architecture, and engineering, and beauty. Great for adults and children alike. It will awaken wonderment. Make certain to experience the stunning surround sound poetry/video installation. I was so deeply moved - and at the same time centered - that I returned to let the sound and projection wash over me several time. There is a poetry section and an engineering section, and both were equally powerful for me. I walked away with this remarkable energy that recognized what can be done when people set about the work of solving challenges together. The Fairmount WaterWorks is powerful expression of what can happen when the right vision, design, artistry, imagination, ingenuity, funding, and people all align. Treat yourself, and all you love, to this FREE delight. Greg
