As many people have already said, Falafel Corner's easy to miss, especially when late-night crowds from Charlie's Kitchen next door start spilling onto the sidewalk. With that said though, it's definitely worth a visit if you haven't been before--I really can't speak highly enough of this place. I don't frequent this place nearly as often as I did when I was living in Harvard Square, but every time I'm back in Cambridge, I try to get me one of the shawarma rollups (with hot sauce, if you can tolerate it--it's really not that bad). My go-to order is always the chicken shawarma, and on occasion, I get a lamb shawarma too, which is saying a lot, since I usually can't tolerate the taste of lamb. I can't speak on any of the other menu items, but that's only because I've never wanted to have anything else; the shawarma rollups are just that good.
Sure, the chicken could probably be a bit more juicy, but it's fresh-shaved from the skewer, and the combination of the meat, diced tomatoes, intensely garlicky tahini, hot sauce, and lettuce is sensational.
The place is open til 3 am almost every night, but indoor seating in the basement is limited, so it's really more of a carry-out sort of place. You'll rarely see a queue out the door, but when it happens, the line moves along reasonably quickly. While the ambience is nothing to write home about--you won't see any fancy wine lists, maître d's, or servers scraping crumbs off a white tablecloth here--I can't stress how flavorful the food is. The kicker: the food's actually affordable, and good value, which is saying a lot in a Harvard Square that's increasingly become ostentatious and inaccessible.
