16 Picnic-Friendly Restaurants To Enjoy This Summer in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"The second location from much-loved Falafel St. Jacques is located just a couple blocks up from one of the city’s most picturesque waterfront green spaces. Pick up a a pita sandwich, or some mock shawarma (made from shitake mushrooms) and head across the Lachine Canal Foot Bridge for a picnic overlooking Lac Saint-Louis." - Dahlia Snaiderman

I have heard about the Falafel St-Jacques for quite a while but never had the chance to try it out. All vegetarian? not usually my thing but wow. I am going to be honest, it is pretty good. yummm After that i went two more times. They have all kinds of vegetables sides, cucumber salads, beets, mushrooms, coleslaw, guacamole, coucous, quinoa, eggplants, tofu, choux de bruxelles, corn salad, and you name it! They all tasted good really What I love about it, they give a pretty generous portion, too much that you can’t even finish the whole plate, I always bring the second half the next day for lunch they have plates or sandwiches, decent prices, they will also ask if you want hot sauce on top or on the side, a must-try if you are a spice addict just like me! Nicely decorated, great ambiance, clean, great friendly staff, good service .parking on the street but easy, not too busy If you have thought of trying this place, i strongly suggest it. i regret not trying it earlier!

This was the BEST most delicious sandwich EVER! We both had the Shishtaouk Trio as it was highly recommended for our first visit here. The quality of all the food and flavors were excellent! The house made fluffy pita?? So AMAZING!! The LOVE put into this plant based food speaks to the love of cruelty free living! They say at Falafel St. Jacques, ‘we’re storytellers of spice and soul’ and that sums up the joy this beautiful restaurant radiates!!! Wonderful experience! Merci beaucoup!! Peace + Love ☮️ ❤️🌱 #vegan

Went there after reading the most amazing reviews only to be dissapointed again .... The place is ok, has a variety of items and lots of salads and platters to chose from but it was not that great. The food was Meh! (personally i dont like my food in a mash up as seen in the latest pics) We had a falafel platter, tawook sandwich 👎 and a shawarma platter and weirdly the salads and accompagnements were all on top of each other mixing the flavours and rendering it hard to really separate the tastes ... And the eggplants were burned ....🤐 Also to mention , the last video posted of the sandwich making was so awesome but unfortunately far from truth. While serving our food , no gloves were used, same tongs between the toppings and the sandwich wasnt that great....) Also the place could really use some cleaning up.... A real bummer that it didnt live up to my expectations .... And to note that we ate inside, no platting or table setting was done (just saying 🤔)

Just ate there for the first time - food is great, portions are big and the price is more than fair (my whole plate cost less than a McD’s trio, and was obviously so much better). Will happily stop there again when in the area.

Falafel St Jacques in Lachine is a standout vegetarian dining destination. Their falafel and accompanying dishes are consistently praised for both their exceptional taste and visually appealing presentation. The owner's generosity and welcoming nature add a personal touch that enhances the dining experience, making every visit memorable. As the best vegetarian option in town, Falafel St Jacques comes highly recommended for anyone seeking delicious, wholesome meals served with a smile. Pairing with the best bubble tea in town across the street perfect wedding ❤️

What an awesome discovery! The shawarma, shishtaouk and general tao were delicious. I was so happily surprised to learn that all of it is vegetarian :o They even have various goods like cookies, cakes and other specialties. Highly recommend.

So many great options to nourish the body. Portions are very large. Service friendly, they really let you customize the plate.
