"Now open on Notre-Dame in the heart of Lachine, Falafel St. Jacques has expanded from its original Ville‑St‑Pierre location into a larger corner space with more seating and a summer terrasse. The restaurant opened in 2016 and rapidly became a west-side destination; it is owned by Israeli Ronan Baruch, with Saleh Seh, a Palestinian, as its main manager. The Notre‑Dame outpost sticks to the original’s vegetarian street-food formula — falafels made to order for crispness, fresh pita, and hummus with house-made tahini — and also serves a notable counter-service shawarma. The menu is entirely vegetarian, with shish taouk and other meat-style options made from shiitake mushrooms that draw praise for their taste and meat-like texture.
