25 Essential Peninsula Restaurants

"For tasty vegetarian street food, Falafelle is well worth a visit. Though the shop may appear snug and unassuming, this no-frills pick-up counter is known for fluffy pita pockets and falafel balls made from a signature blend of minced garbanzo and fava beans. The top-selling pita pocket comes with five falafel, zesty cabbage, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers, house salad, pickled vegetables, and sumac onions — resulting in a veggie flavor bomb. Another vegan fan-favorite is the Heaven’s Pita Pocket,” stuffed with eggplant, cauliflower, fried potato spheres, hummus, walnut pesto, and sun-dried tomato sauce. The ultra-smooth and creamy hummus is made from dry garbanzo beans that are soaked and slow-cooked each day." - Cathy Park

Google
Healthy, tasty, good portions, fair priced. No complaints. Ordered pickup via their website and order was ready as scheduled. I got the falafel container spicy ($14.20) without banana peppers and garbanzo beans, added baba ghannouj ($1.25). Everything was tasty. I'm not real into falafels but this one is probably the best quality one I've had. Crispy outside. Not dry. Sauces were not spicy at all but that's subjective. It's basically a takeout spot. Parking lots nearby are usually pretty busy. Worth a try

Google
Falafelle in Belmont delivers top-tier Mediterranean fare with crisp, made-to-order falafel, vibrant sides like tabbouleh and pickled veggies, and standout options like the Heaven’s Pita. It's takeout-only, but the quality and flavor make it a must-visit for Bay Area foodies.

Google
Tiny little falafel shop that produces some brilliant Middle Eastern cuisine. It also happens to be Vegetarian. ~ Falafelle Combo - 4.5/5 Generous portions. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh!

Sameer Rakheja

Google
Literally a hole in the wall serving delicious Mediterranean food. It’s on the main road so easy to access but also easily missed given how inconspicuous it is. Parking on the road can be challenging but there is a lot at the back. Ordering was a breeze and they do just takeaway so be ready to eat in the car. We loved the wraps and will surely be going again.

Google
If you want falafel this is the place. It's just an order kiosk/pickup window, but the falafel is sublime. Both the pita and containers are excellent, and come packed with various pickled veggies and sauces. We recommend ordering ahead so you don't need to stand out on the street waiting for it.

Google
Falafelle is a true gem—every bite of their Heaven’s Pita Pocket is a perfect balance of crisp falafel, fresh veggies, and warm, fluffy pita. The counter‐serve setup is bright and clean, the staff are friendly and efficient, and orders always arrive hot and accurate. Highly recommend for anyone craving top‐notch Mediterranean fare!

Google
I have been going here since it first opened up, and they make my very favorite sandwich in the Bay Area. The owner and his wife are incredibly nice. Pita Pocket 4.5/5. Very fresh ingredients and delightfully filling. It has falafel balls, cabbage, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers, house salad, pickled turnips, sumac onions, pickled cucumbers & mild banana peppers. Yum. Heavens Pita Pocket: 5/5. Love the combinations of all of the fillings (eggplant, cauliflower, potatoes, hummus, vegan walnut pesto sauce, and sun dried tomato sauce). I added Baba Ghannouj the first time I had this but I don't think it needs the added flavor. My fingers were dripping with sauce as I finished it and It was wonderful. Also very filling. The staff they have behind the counter are always very nice.

Google
Delicious vegan food! 🥙🤤 I didn’t get a chance to take a pic before I dug in lol. The combination of the hot and cold features inside the pita is top notch. It was spicy and sour, savory! I loved it! Will definitely return. :)

Yelp
I originally headed to the usual hummus "go-to," Oren's Hummus in Palo Alto, but the traffic was standstill on the local streets getting there and I decided to turn around keep going north towards home but also checking Yelp...and, in looking through several different places in San Mateo, Burlingame, etc., I noticed Falafelle and the fact that they have fluffy pita! That is one thing that I can't stand at a lot of Mediterranean / falafel / hummus places -- no matter how good the food is, if it's that flat factory pita, it really diminishes the experience. After you've tried fluffy pita once, it's hard to go back to the basic kind. And then I saw further in the reviews that said that the hummus was absolutely amazing, with many people saying "best I've ever had." I had been hoping to go somewhere where I could sit down, get table service and enjoy the meal, which Falafelle doesn't have, but I was willing to give it a try anyway as it was kind of convenient for me on the way home and I was enticed by the reviews and the photos. So, they have an electronic menu right outside -- actually, you can't even go inside the store anyway -- and the menu layout was at first a little confusing as to what they had, even though they do not have a large menu. But I ended up figuring it out and decided to go basic and get a falafel wrap, a side of hummus, and pita bread. Well, the pita bread was just as I hoped it would be: thick, fluffy, warm and absolutely delicious! I will say, these pitas, although equally as good as Oren's are only about ¾ of the size. But then they were only $1.50 so it was no big thing to get several. I dunked the pita in the hummus...ah, yes, everyone who's reviewed here is right, it is absolutely wonderful. I would actually say you could probably put this hummus head-to-head with Oren's and it would be hard to choose the winner. Now I used to be a big falafel fan. I haven't been of late because most of the falafel that I found is so dry, heavy, umderspiced or overspiced (or I just haven't been going to the right places). But I decided to give Falafelle's a try, since that's their specialty -- and, folks, I thought it was one of the most delicious falafels I've ever had. Very light, with a nice crunch, and just the perfect seasoning, it really was delicious. And the way that they prepared the wrap was first of all, visually, very appealing, and they put in it a great complement of ingredients that made the whole thing taste so great -- and I was actually impressed that they didn't put onions in, which everyone seems to do, but which I don't like because I think it takes away from the flavor of the falafel. Maybe I would have asked for a little less tomatoes, they put a whole lot of those in there, but it fine and it was great bite -- actually, I could only eat half of it. So I absolutely endorse this place hands down if you want some really good hummus, really good pita, and really good falafel. Oh, and another great thing: if you're a fan of San Pellegrino soda, they carry just about every one of their flavors.

Yelp
Falafelle is probably my favorite vegan restaurant, err... Hole in the wall of all time at the moment... Because that's is exactly what it is: with a small storefront, there is no room to sit inside or outside. Order your food and enjoy it somewhere else, there is no dining in here. Every order is take out or to go... They are fast and efficient and I never had anything bad. The food is very tasty as well and the portions are generous. Great price points as well. #veganaEats: ~ Falafelle Combo - 4.5/5 This Como is unbelievable. It has a solid variety in it. According the the website: "100% Vegan. Six falafel balls served with hummus, tabbouleh and two pieces of Dolma in a plate with zesty cabbage, beets, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers, house salad, pickled turnips, sumac onions, pickled cucumbers, mild banana peppers & garbanzo beans. Don't want a topping? Add it as a note. Feel free to add premium toppings as well. We suggest adding Baba Ghannouj!" I can only finish this if I'm very hungry, otherwise I end up saving half for later or splitting it with someone else. I've been here a few times, and will probably be back...

Yelp
Always good...drinks, desserts and a variety of falafel... something we really look forward to... You can order online. Limited outdoor seating.... Go to the park next door.

Yelp
The pita pockets are great mmm yum savory and I loaded it with avocado. I also love the fries and the sauce here

Yelp
I love when there is a vegetarian/vegan option that does not have falafel in it. The Heaven's Pita Pocket was so yummy with eggplant and cauliflower. The hot sauce ties it all together and makes it so flavorful. I paid about $15 total which I think is a little high for something so small, but it did fill me up. It is a small space with not much room to wait outside for your food. I had very little interaction with the staff as I ordered on a tablet. There is a parking lot in the back.

Yelp
My SO has always loved coming here for a quick, healthy meal. I didn't really have a strong opinion on it. Aside from the super soft pita bread, I never really craved anything from Falafelle. I eat like a child--I don't like vegetables, especially pickled vegetables. Plus I like meat lol. My opinion on Falafelle completely changed once I tried the Heaven's Pita. It's the best pita pocket I've ever had. With cauliflower, eggplant, and walnut pesto in their fluffy pita bread, I still feel like I'm eating a somewhat healthy meal. I definitely recommend it for those who don't like vegetables :D

Yelp
Decided to give this place a try after seeing the great reviews. It's more of a pick-up spot than a full restaurant--orders are placed at a kiosk, and it's takeout only. So I can't comment on the ambience. Parking nearby is pretty challenging, though there's a small park within walking distance if you're looking for a spot to enjoy your food. The portions are decent but not particularly large, and the falafel wasn't especially memorable. The pickled sides are fresh but tend to lean towards the sour/acidic side. Overall, it's a decent option for Mediterranean food, but the inconvenience might make me think twice about returning.

Yelp
DON'T order via DoorDash. They completely ignored my pita customization and they didn't supply hummus I purchased.
google avatar

Gabrielle B.

Yelp
When I found Falafelle online, I expected a restaurant but it's really just an ordering window. You order on a kiosk, get your take out and that's that. There is a bench outside but no tables or any real seating options. Apart from that, the food is amazing. The menu is pretty small, but they have some great options. I got the pita pocket and it was so delicious. It's packed with amazing falafel, fresh veggies and covered in a soft pita. They also offer baklava and drinks, like probiotic soda. This is a great take out option!

Yelp
I've tried Falafelle multiple times and usually go during weekday lunch time. STARS (stand out qualities) -Tasty and fresh in ingredients -Falafel is one of the better ones I've had on the peninsula -Pita bread is above average and fluffy and fresh! -Decent portions especially the falafel container STAIRS (areas for growth) -I had trouble hearing the names called out for the food. I recommend staff vocalize the name of person loudly or broadcast it in a screen (visuals are great) TIPS -container seems to have more food than wrap (I ate it all but was really full! I probably could have saved half portion for another meal!) -order BEFORE pickup. It took about 15-20 minutes from the time of order -order and pick up BEFORE peak time (possibly around 11:45-1pm) as there is a bit of a wait during 12-1pm -keep boxes up right - sauces leak -You can eat at nearby Twin Pines park which has some picnic tables, benches, grass or stage/stair area (no seating at restaurant)

Yelp
Super delicious and fresh vegan Mediterranean food! I had the falafel container, which has 6 falafels (mine came with 7), hummus, and various vegetables and salads. The falafels were super crispy without being dry, and the hummus was extremely smooth and delicious. Most of the menu is vegan by default, and everything that is not vegan is clearly labelled. You order at a little kiosk outside, and then they bring the food to a little window when it's ready. My food was ready within a few minutes. There is no seating area, but there is a park nearby where my friend and I sat down to eat. Would love to come back to try one of the pita pockets. Highly recommend!

Yelp
this place has been around since the stone ages and if this restaurant ever dies, i will die along it too

Yelp
I try to frequently visit Falafelle when I can now that I no longer work in the area ordering my go-to Falafelle containe withr no cabbage or sauerkraut and requesting it with extra house salad, beets, and onions. Today I ordered the same as I normally would but when I got home (mind you I live 25 min away in ssf) I opened my container to a less than half tray of what I'm used to getting leaving me disappointed of what I received. Nevertheless, I will continue to visit this place, I just hope this review will have the team think about even giving a plate like this out ever again.

Yelp
Wow, why did I wait so long to stop by for lunch? This place is so freaking good, the flavors, the crispy falafels, the spiciness, the hummus, the pickled veggies... everything! I ordered online for pickup but you can walk & order from the window or from the tablet. It's literally a hole in the way. You order/pick up from the window. There are two tables with two chairs to sit & eat out front but that's such a busy street that I ate it back at the office. I can't wait to be back & if you're in the area this is a must! It is on a busy street but you can drive around & park in the back I can't wait to be back &

Yelp
Falafel is a good place to go however every single time I order online and say no onions no house salad they Include it. I'm very disappointed.
google avatar

Yuvraj P.

Yelp
One of the only spots in the bay that focus on the falafel. Traditional tasting, the hummus and baba ganuch is amazing, the salads are always fresh and even when the is line of people you can get you food really quickly. The self ordering station helps to avoid big line.
google avatar

Kevin P.

Yelp
Random pickup counter that we happened to stopped by and thought "let's go vegetarian for a change" and we were not disappointed. They PACK the hell out of the Pita Pocket, it's hefty and what is expected for $12 - your money goes far here. Falafel was not dry, it was mixed with the greens and hummus and sauce extremely well. Ask them to mush your your falafels so you can get flavor and texture in every bite. Medium is the way to go, not spicy at all and had a very minor hot Cheetos version of a kick. Service was fast, got our big order within 10 minutes.
google avatar

Mahi G.

Yelp
I ordered a falafel on pita with rice, and it was delicious! I liked that the falafel wasn't too dry and the sauce was very tasty. The fries were not as crispy as I liked, but came out very warm. After ordering on the kiosk, it took around 15 minutes to get our food. There was no outdoor seating, but there was a bench nearby to sit on. The owners were super friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
Summary- amazing food, just go for it. Ur belly will thank you Place doesn't have dining. Street Parking is limited We can place order from screen out front Mango milk is sooper Baklava was good Maamoul is good Heavens Pita pocket is awesome Falafelle container is out of d world Will certainly come back for more

Yelp
Delicious and fresh ingredients! Staff super friendly! There isn't a place to sit so I recommend walking to the nearby park:)

Yelp
Great place for a quick lunch and you can eat outside in the neighboring Twin Pines Park! The menu is all vegan and there is only take out but Falafelle does not disappoint. Service is quick and the food and drinks are delicious. I tried the pomegranate ice tea which was perfect. If you love tart drinks, I highly recommend it. The mango milk was also great. It tasted like silky mango. Then for the food, I got the hummus and baba ganouj appetizers. Both were well seasoned and the baba ganouj had a nice level of smokiness. I love meals with a bit of everything to try so the falafelle combo was perfect for this. If you love pickled veggies, this is the meal for you. Lastly, the pita was insanely fluffy. It was divine. Will be back for sure!

Michael S.

Yelp
Pillowy pita, excellent falafel, and a very good variety of sides. Easy to customize your order. Reasonable prices.

Curt K.

Yelp
Great little take-out only falafel place. Fast service, fresh ingredients, delicious, and healthy. I will be a regular customer.

Matt Y.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this place back on 9/5 so I placed an online order and went to pick it up only to find that they had lost power and couldn't fulfill the order because all of the kitchen equipment was not working. I asked for a refund and they said they would refund the order when the power returned. I checked for a return the following day, but nothing had been processed. So I emailed the restaurant multiple times only to be ignored. So to this day I still have not received any acknowledgement or response to getting my money stolen from me. I'd suggest staying away if this is how they treat new customers.

Yelp
located along ralston just a block up from el camino real near 6th...small location with a kiosk to order from the sidewalk...2 tiny tables on the sidewalk...no indoor seating...pick-up orders only...picking up some appetizers for a weekend football party...finding six falafel balls for $5 and order of dolma for $6.50...ordered a bunch of falafel balls and dolma for the party...about 5 minutes and texted...everything was packaged perfectly...opening to find a container full for pickled vegetables and another container of tahini sauce...dolma was served with some sliced potatoes and a green sauce drizzled on top...dolma were dense and tangy...falafel was tasty and even better after reheating for a minute in the air fryer...not salty and moist center...food was excellent...

Elena L.

Yelp
Yelp, you really messed up! Falafelle is also responsible. Why on yelp the dish picture for order is so messed up where the baba ghanouj dish looked like the combo plate? If it is only for the baba ghanouj then show the right dish in the picture!!! As confusing as it was, the issue was now I ordered something that had nothing else but the eggplant for dinner. Your picture made me think I got all the other food! Falafelle folk did not even speak English well enough to understand the issue. I am disappointed with Yelp! Bad listing and service.

Yelp
It has been forever since I last reviewed Falafelle so time for an update. I finally tried their sandwiches and they are both delicious. Pita Pocket 5/5. Very fresh ingredients and delightfully filling. It has falafel balls, cabbage, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers, house salad, pickled turnips, sumac onions, pickled cucumbers & mild banana peppers. Yum. Heavens Pita Pocket: 5/5. Love the combinations of all of the fillings (eggplant, cauliflower, potatoes, hummus, vegan walnut pesto sauce, and sun dried tomato sauce). Yelp
Fake spot, fake news, fake falafelle... I was going to give it a one star but gave it a second thought. For the falafel is decent, but it ain't. Nothing like advertised. They can definitely do better with taking care of their employees. The employees are nice, the food is not that bad. Wouldn't want to go back. Can miss me with the BS.
google avatar

J J.

Yelp
Honestly, it was good but not great. Really wanted to try this place based on the 5 star reviews. It was good, but nothing mind blowing. Since I have had better Falafel elsewhere in the bay area - it wouldn't be fair to give this place 5 stars. Achilles in Santa Clara and Dishdash in Sunnyvale has much better tasting falafel and better toppings, variety is sauces etc. Achilles makes their falafel fresh at the time of order - nice and warm - here it was cold and also not as flavorful. A bit bland - lacking in salt. I also asked for high spice - but it was delivered closer to mild (far far far from spicy). Not many variety in sauces. They should also provide some sauces on the side (without asking), but I didn't get any. Ordering was super easy through the digital kiosk - quick and seamless. Although there was only one screen so it can get really busy, especially if the person ahead of you is not sure what they want (happens often right ) Customer service: can't say anything here - there was zero interaction with the staff apart from when they call your name for order pick up. Net net: I am glad I tried it - had to with the 5 star ratings this place has. Don't think I am coming back unless I am in the neighborhood already. Parking is also not easy. We had to park in the park close by and walk to this place.
google avatar

Shohini B.

Yelp
Placed a pickup order and an item was missing. This is the second time this has happened - they seem to not have checks in place to ensure a pickup order is put together correctly. Pls double check everything if you are planning to pick up from here. Calling the restaurant is to no avail- they send you to VM. Food itself a consistent and good - but it's no fun if you open the box and items are nissing.
google avatar

Aptos K.

Yelp
To go only with no seating. Food good and ready on time. Great for vegetarians and vegans.

Matt G.

Yelp
I miss this place! After long periods of eating not so healthy foods, I would go here to get something healthy and refreshing for my soul. It's the epitome of the hole in the wall eatery. You can't even go inside, you order at the front door and wait for them to assemble your meal. The ownership changed hands a few years ago, but they're serving up the same products. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but this is a fine place for you if that's your thing. I would always get the falafel combo w/ the dolmas. What I remember is it was some pickled items like beets, kraut and ... hold on a minute. I'm back, here copied and pasted from their site. *100% Vegan. Six falafel balls served with hummus, tabbouleh and two pieces of Dolma in a plate with zesty cabbage, beets, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers, house salad, pickled turnips, sumac onions, pickled cucumbers, mild banana peppers & garbanzo beans.* I would add 1 of their plain pita breads for a couple of bucks. Everything was around $19. The pitas are thick, warm, pillowy and really nice to eat with everything else, especially the hummus. 4 stars because the falafels are not great, they taste kinda burned like they're fried too much. They're pretty dry, I get them wet with the vegetables and the sauces that they drizzle on top of everything to eat them, but the flavor is still lacking! Next time I'm down there I'm hittin them up.
google avatar

Ally W.

Yelp
I like Mediterranean food, but thought everything was pretty acidic here. I got the Falafelle Combo and most items -- cabbage, sauerkraut, house salad, pickled turnips, pickled cucumbers, banana peppers, tabbouleh, sumac onions, and dolma -- were sour (1 star off). The only items not sour were the beets and hummus. The falafels were crunchy, but I did not find them to have much flavor (1 star off). Even the tahini sauce seemed bland (1 star off). My husband got the pita sandwuch and the pita bread was soft and fluffy, although the contents were similar to my combo platter. I like their automated ordering system. It was very simple to use, and the food was ready pretty quickly. It is a take-out place, but there is a nice park with picnic tables within a short walk.
google avatar

Michelle P.

Yelp
Few menu items Each item carried out to perfection Definitely 5 stars Best falafel out there - coming back soon!
google avatar

AI S.

Yelp
Usually I would've rated it 4 to 5 because their falafel sandwich and its fillings are fresh and tasty. This time I am generous by giving a 3. The falafel in the sandwich and plates I ordered did not taste fresh, and french fries were bad. Seems they were fried twice. I am hesitating to try it again. But maybe it was a bad day for them.

M. K.

Yelp
I got the falafel container. The falafels were pretty good, and fresh, but the rest of the container just tasted like harsh vinegar -- it looked like several varieties of pickles from a jar. It was kind of gross and not at all filling, and I'm saying this as someone who likes pickles (and other falafel places). There's no pita included with the container, there was barely any hummus in it, and it's not enough to be a meal. There's nowhere to sit and eat, and it's literally just a place to pick up the food now. I used to come here before the pandemic and it was awesome back then. But after this time I won't be back.
google avatar

Aarthi M.

Yelp
Small veggie spot in Belmont. I am a vegetarian so this worked perfectly. We ordered pita pocket with fries in it, hummus snacker for my toddler, baba ghanoush, pitas (really fluffy and soft) and a coconut Turkish delight. Loved everything (except the Turkish delight which was a bit more chewy). I'll definitely revisit!
google avatar

Shirin B.

Yelp
Falafelle is a completely vegan Mediterranean street food joint that is serving up excellent Falafel Balls with standout basmati rice, the creamiest hummus, and absolutely amazing spicy and savory sauces. I wish I discovered this place earlier and somehow I am just now finding out about this gem. Their falafel combo plate we ordered was super flavorful, fresh, and delicious and more importantly served with soft and moist falafel. I find this place comparable to some highly rated falafel places in the Bay Area such as falafel stop in Sunnyvale and Falafel Drive in, in Santa Clara. Since this is a small place, there's no seating but y there is a park with picnic tables 5 steps away from the joint! The Price point is slightly higher than I would want but for the amazing food and kind servers, this place deserves each of its 5 stars.
google avatar

Estella H.

Yelp
If you are ever in the peninsula bay area, this little gem of a find serves an amazing Mediterranean spread of falafel and dolmades with veggies. Definitely spring for the baba ganoush. This whole dish is delicious and makes me feel like I filled my healthful quotient for the day.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely love Heaven's Pita Pocket - so incredibly delicious- YUM!! Khaled is super nice and accommodating - just the greatest!
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
Good falafels with very fresh sides! Love the combination of sides included to the Combo plate.I've also ordered medium spice level together, but it wasn't really spicy. I felt falafels are bit salty. Highly recommend adding rice or pita bread when you're ordering plate options. Keep in mind that there's no seating area - take out only.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
To-go only, very small place, but oh so delicious. We tried the combo plate with medium spice and it was amazing. Came with 7 little falafels that were very good - moist and fluffy on the inside with some nice flavoring while maintaining crunch on the exterior. All the sides were delicious as well, highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I stumbled across Falafelle while looking for Mediterranean places on the Peninsula. I was scrolling through the photos to look for shawarma (my family is carnivorous) before realizing that they specialize in vegetarian fare, to my liking :D The menu is simple, consisting of: - Entrees (pita pocket, salad, or plate) - Sides (hummus, falafel, pita, etc., essentially you can order anything a la carte) - Drinks (pomegranate tea, mango lassi which they call mango milk) - Desserts (Turkish delights, vegan baklava) I got the Falafelle combo, since it included everything I wanted to try and looked so delicious. It's a glorious plate that includes 6 falafels, 2 Dolmas, marinated cabbage, beets, sauerkraut, roasted red peppers, house salad, pickled turnips, sumac onions, pickled cucumbers, banana peppers, and hummus topped with a few garbanzo beans. It's a lot of stuff! I added baba gannouj per their recommendation ($+1.25), which was a good idea because falafel can otherwise be somewhat dry. It comes with pita too, which I opted out of. All the ingredients were fresh, and all the flavors blended well together. I loved everything, though I thought that the taste of the dolma was quite strong from the herbs and marinade. It made a hearty and satisfying lunch, but didn't feel heavy since it's all vegan. My only suggestion is for staff to be a little more careful when scooping up the ingredients, since the bottom of my plate was watery. Other notes: - Their online ordering system is super easy and includes photos of all the items - They were speedy in completing my order! - No seating area; it's more of a to-go type of place. I ate in my car in the adjacent parking lot (which is supposed to be for Wells Fargo) - Total was $16.68 pre-tip for my one combo plate, sans drinks. I think it's a little pricey, but I appreciate the good quality (not to mention, the days of $10 lunches are gone :')

Yelp
Take out only but vibrant, spicy, sour, smoky and every flavor I would expect and want in a falafel plate! Babaganoush was a special call out.

Yelp
Scary place. They only take orders to go, but the place smelled and had a bad appearance. No ventilation, except through the door. The employee thought I was picking up an order, but when I told I was going to order from there she went back to chatting with the other employee. I took a brief look at the food that I was out and it didn't look good. I would never order from this place.

Yelp
Delicious. Got the felafel plate (don't remember the exact name). Really like all the pickly accompaniments such as sauerkraut, pickles, and pickled turnips to contrast with the creamy rich stuff (felafel, hummus, and sauces). Really nice fresh fluffy pita too.

Yelp
I'm experimenting and going vegan for a week...basically I've been eating from home. However I found myself super hungry while traveling and turned to trusty Yelp. This business came up as having vegan friendly food. While watching my kiddo jump his heart out at rock n jump, I was able to place an order for pick up (HUGE PLUS). I ordered the falafel plate. I'm not new to falafel and might I say, I can be picky with how they are cooked. These falafel were (insert chef's kiss). Crispy outside, soft inside, not dry! The sides were hella good...beets, cabbage, hummus, sauerkraut. It's a walk to window pick-up, so don't expect dining at this location. Most definitely worth the stop!

Yelp
I loved their Falafel Container! Craved some Mediterranean vibes for lunch, so I gave this place a shot. The food was amazing and filling for the price. Definitely my new go-to for falafel. The owner seemed nice too :) Can't wait to go back! The baba ganoush topping was my favorite.

Yelp
Came across Falafelle while I was looking for a place for lunch and I was curious about how it was probably the only place in the Peninsula that had 5 stars. Falafelle is definitely a hidden gem. It's a little hole in the wall that you probably would miss if you were just walking around the area. Getting to Falafelle is pretty straight forward. Its in the Safeway plaza at Belmont and is pretty hard to miss. Theres plenty of parking in that plaza as well, so its easy to access. Can't really say much about the ambiance. Especially since I ordered pickup. The service was kind of a mixed bag unfortunately, which probably has something to do with the online ordering. When I came to pick up my order, the person gave me the wrong order. Luckily, I looked at the bag and the receipt while I was walking back and noticed that it had the wrong name. They eventually gave me the right order, but it is kind of hard to overlook that little blunder they had. Will have to deduct a star because of that. Hopefully I'll have a more pleasant experience when I go again. The food on the other hand was incredible. i was surprised with how good the pita pocket was. The pita pocket is basically a felafel sandwich with a mini salad inside of it. It was really delicious and the portion size was really good too. The pricing was super cheap as well (~$14), so I absolutely have no complaints about it. Overall, this hidden gem is absolutely worth coming out to Belmont for. I'll probably come out here again to try some of their other orders, but I totally recommend trying the pita pocket if you decide to come by.
