Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House

I have ate here before and it was great. However this time the ribs I ordered where a little bit to much like jerky. Seems they may have re warmed them one to many times. Service was mediocre. We had to ask for rolls twice at a place that served throwed rolls. They asked if everything was good. Told them the ribs where cooked to long. They apologized and offered something else. If your looking for thrower rolls I recommend making the drive north.

We were looking for a breakfast place and they serve breakfast now!! Kind of picky about my breakfast but this was pretty good.. They were out of a few things but the eggs were cooked great I was trying to figure out how he made them so good My omelette was good another great cooking job The biscuit was so so All in all I would go back to here for breakfast.. Can't wait to go back for dinner. Prices were good and service was pretty good for her being very busy! Really cool atmosphere to lots to look at!

Overall great experience. Food was 4.5/5, service was good, atmosphere was a great traditional steakhouse. Here's the breakdown. Food: Black and Blue burger was very good. Fries were good too, and they don't water down their coke. The tossed tolls are a sourdough, and I loved them, efen though not everyone in our party did. The only disappointment, ironically, was the steak. Which is kind of sad. It wasn't bad, just that I make a mean steak, and several people in our party commented I make them better. Either I've gotten that good, or the steak was just not stellar. I will humbly assume the latter. Servie: Good. Was also maybe a 4.5. Hard to put a 5 on it because we did wait without an update for awhile, and teo plates were delayed, but they did have the food out in descent time , and were helpful and friendly. Atmosphere. Also probably a 4.5, but how do you represent that in the score? I love the upstairs seating, and layout. Nice long benches with a great view of the hills.

We recently ate at Fall Creek Steak & Catfish House, a place known for being the “Home of the Tossed Roll.” Unfortunately, our experience didn’t quite live up to that reputation. When we arrived, the host seemed extremely stressed and was running around trying to keep up. While we understand busy nights happen, it wasn’t the best first impression when walking in. Once seated, our waitress was very friendly and attentive, which was a bright spot. I asked if they still did the tossed rolls since we hadn’t seen any, and she explained they had run out and were waiting for more dough to rise. For a restaurant that’s known for its tossed rolls, it was disappointing to hear they ran out. When the rolls finally came out, they were only tossed to one side of the room and never made it back to our section during our visit, so we never received any. As for the food, we ordered a steak, the BBQ sampler, and an appetizer. The steak was good and cooked well, but the BBQ sampler and appetizer were underwhelming and not something we’d go back for. Overall, the service from our waitress was kind and appreciated, but between the rough start, missing out on the signature tossed rolls, and mediocre food outside of the steak, the experience didn’t quite meet expectations.

On December 23rd, I visited this restaurant for the fifth time. I had visited four times before, and all previous experiences were excellent. This visit was very different. The restaurant was almost empty, and three of us ordered sirloin steak. Before I even left the restaurant, I started feeling very sick with severe stomach pain. Later, the other family members who ate the same food also experienced stomach issues. I was affected the most, and my symptoms lasted about two more days. Based on this, I believe something in the food was not in good condition. This is very disappointing, as I used to love this place. The restaurant needs to be more careful with food quality and safety.

The first thing my wife said was that this place was decorated like Billie Gail’s breakfast restaurant. It’s a big restaurant. It’s like a mash up between country bears and an old TGIF with all there crap from some garage sale on the walls Our waitress was a little rough around the edges. I ordered the chicken Fried chicken and for my sides, I wanted the green beans and french fries. She promptly informed me with a little attitude that I would be getting the mashed potatoes. Evidently the menu says two sides, but you don’t get to pick them. The food was good although my green beans were a bit cold. I get the cutie part of them throwing bread rolls at you. They won’t just hand you one. But the biggest problem I had was the fact that they are serving $40-$50 steaks, nice toasted yeast rolls….. and they serve cheap partially hydrogenated soybean oil as a butter substitute At these prices, they should have real butter on the table. Not little plastic things filled with crap margarine. Oh, and my shoes should not be sticky when I walk out of the restroom making sticky noises as you walk 3 stars and I’ll skip this place next time. It’s not worth the prices they charge

Fun place to see lots of memorabilia. Food was good, but didn't seem homemade. Man potatoes and bbq beans appeared flake mix and can. Friendly staff. Cool part was they throw rolls across restaurant at you. Fun activity. Not a bad place to visit.

I wouldn’t recommend it. Service was slow but she did mention they were short-staffed. Everyone was friendly, though. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t good. The lemon chicken was dry, the mashed potatoes were very thick (almost crumbly), the corn was overcooked and chewy and the asparagus was ridiculously skinny. The cod was crispy on the outside and moist inside but had no flavor at all. Also, we were seated, ordered, ate and paid before we saw any rolls being thrown. We were able to get one before we left and it was good.

This restaurant is typically busy, so it was great to go around 4:00 and not have to wait in line. That being said, we should not have had to wait to be seated for five minutes. We saw several employees, they were chatting among themselves or eating. About the time we went to search one out, someone came and seated us. Our waitress was very nice and personable, but her mind was some where else. She said that herself after taking something for us to the table behind us. Literally, this happened three or four times! The best part of the meal was the salad bar. It tasted fresh and there was a nice selection of toppings. That was all I ordered and I was stuffed from one trip. My spouse added the salad bar on to his chicken fried chicken meal (good, not great) and also really enjoyed it. I definitely recommend the salad bar.

Would not recommend. The outside and the atmosphere was inviting. The menu looked promising. But once we got inside, fave our name and number in our party to the hostess, everything fell apart. It was unorganized, over crowded, and the service was poor. Took over twenty minutes just to get waters and tea. Took another 25 mins for our waitress to even come back to tell us she had to check on our dinner. We were done. 45 minutes wait, she only checked on us twice. Nope. Had it not been for the rolls that they threw at us, we would have left sooner. The food I did get (salad bar) was mediocre at best. Chopped romaine, chopped broccoli, sliced red onion, grated cheese and sliced boiled eggs. (Insert eye roll). I make better side salads at home. The only good part was the croutons, they were made from toasted day-old rolls, which were amazing. Overall, really upset with our waitress. And our dining experience. There's wayyyyyyy toooooo many restaurants in Branson to be treated that way.

I wish I had checked the reviews prior to going here with my family. tl;dr - Bad service. Bad food. Don't go. First, as we approached the hostess stand, a server was berating one of the hostesses for seating a group in her section while she was on break. She saw us and didn't care. Next, I said hello to the other hostess and she looked at me and said nothing. She then just walked away. We should have left at this point, I know. The hostess who had been berated greeted us and took us to a table. My wife ordered a chicken salad with no onions - simple. It came out with onions. It took almost 10 minutes to get any server to come to our table to get it fixed. Once they were told, it took another 20+ minutes to remake a salad. The lettuce was brown by the way and the chicken seemed microwaved and totally flavorless.. I chose to do the salad bar. When I got up there, I was totally let down. The lettuce was brown (not like a brown piece, but all brown). It just looked dirty. The entire wait staff had bad attitudes and the staff spent their time outside smoking cigarettes. Overall, I would not recommend and we wouldn't go back even if it was free.

Good food and great service. Fun environment! Went during transition from breakfast to lunch/dinner so was a bit of a wait. But our waitress was still attentive and kept us informed and in good humor:)

A bustling place on Thanksgiving day. Cameron, our server was excellent. He hustled the whole time we were in the restaurant making sure all our needs were fulfilled! Great bbq pork and ribs. The tossed rolls were hot, yeasty and delicious! Sadly, we didn't catch them all,!

Place was not crowded and we were seated right away in a back area. There were a lot of options on the menu. We've eaten here several times on past visits to Branson. Food was so/so this time. We knew the portions were large, so we decided to split the catfish dinner. They had live entertainment which added the country ambiance. They charged a service fee for the extra plate and using a credit card. We were only given a fork. We asked the waitress for a knife, she said "sure" and never came back. It has gone downhill from our last time

Was hesitant after reading recent reviews but we had a great experience last June so decided to go. So glad we did. Arrived around 3 so very empty which is what we like. Or waitress LIZZIE was so nice and great. Manager came by to ask how our meal was. There was four of us. All meals were delicious! Pork chops were thick, juicy and delicious. Catfish fillets were huge! Salad bar fresh and many items. Grilled chicken is great. Love the decor too! And let's not forget the yummy soft hot rolls!

Worst experience I think I ever had. Went for lunch. Food was awful all 4 of us could not even eat our food. It is hard to explain how terrible this place is needless to say if your brave try it yourself. Just remember I said this place is just bad. Only up side is the rolls were good.

Very nice crew. Waiters and host was very nice. Very packed restaurant so you will wait a while but they do have a very decent salad bar to tide you over in case you're starving. We had the pork burger which was very good. We also tried the 12 oz ribeye which was cooked well but was not seasoned well at all and we HAD to add steak sauce just to make it decent. We didn't try the catfish but it smelled and looked amazing. The rolls are awesome. Would come here again but just wouldn't order the steak.

I am sitting here with a 10 once sirloin with a plastic fork. Mom's 6 oz beef tips had 1 beef tip. Had to ask for menus, silverware - they brought plastic. Comical experience. Will not be back. Haven't been here in couple years. Used to be great

We just left this restaurant and are so glad we stopped there. We were heading somewhere else and decided as we passed by to turn around and go back. Audriana was our waitress, and we were glad she was. The food (chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken) was really good and having a kind waitress we could laugh and kid around with made it even better. They serve home style food in a casual atmosphere, and the waitstaff occasionally come out, yell, "Hot rolls!", and toss/throw them to customers who raise their hands for them. Believe me, you want to catch them - they're great! A sincere thank you to Audriana and the great team at Fall Creek for a wonderful meal.

Baked potato came out cold and was replaced with another Baked potato that was cold also. Crap and shrimp boil was basically tasteless. Had to chase down our waitress any time we wanted anything. Go here if you want to waste $150 bucks.

Never been to a restaurant where they throw your food to you, but there is always a first time. Every ten minutes or so they come out of the kitchen with a basket of hot rolls and yell "who wants a roll, raise your hand". They then toss a roll to every person with their hand up. The rolls are very good. The catfish was good. The grilled chicken was overcooked on one side and needed a side of bar-b-q sauce. The Cheddar burger was good and the baked potato was excellent. Our server was conscientious and efficient. The prices are on the high side.

The service was horrible. I ordered a drink called a Mason Jar drink. Hard lemonade. I asked for a new one because mine had a gnat in it. She kind of "humphed" and brought me back a regular lemonade that tasted terrible. We were there at lunchtime and they were not busy at all. The food was awful. We ordered nachos that had so much barbecue sauce on it we couldn't taste anything else. The grumpy female server didn't add anything to the atmosphere. There are better places to eat in Branson.

We were sort of shocked at how run down the inside of this place was. It had a very unclean appearance. Our waitstaff was friendly and attentive. The food was good but it could have been better especially for the price. All I can say is have a lot of time, a lot of patience, low expectations and don't look too close.

My well done steak was INEDIBLE. Others in my group were served steak so rare that theirs was INEDIBLE, too. (No option to send it back as we were in a "group"). The canned green beans were mushy. Told us to "... share a steak knife..." as they didn't have enough to go around. Seriously! Unbelievable... Don't fall for the "shtick" - they throw rolls to you from a big bowl. Fall Creek Steak House is not with it.

$18 salad that was brown. Long waits. Asked for a small modification and that was ignored. Didn't even get rolls. Won't be back.

We were warned it wasn't a good spot. We were staying next door, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in, and there was staff standing all around. But it took 10 minutes for someone to finally seat us in an empty restaurant. We sat for another 15 minutes watching the staff talk among themselves. Nobody could bother tonsay hello, get our drink order or say someone will be with you soon. As we walked out, the lady at the front door noticed we had been seated not too long ago. We told her nobody would wait on us. She shrugged her shoulders as if that was normal. We started asking around where to eat. Several people mentioned that there are only a few good places. They all mentioned avoiding Fall Creek. I find it amazing because their menu is priced as it is a top-notch steak house. However, the service is pathetic. It's definitely a place to avoid for multiple reasons.

Excellent service by Willie and an unbelievable meal! The salad bar was fresh and had everything I like, and the steak was cooked perfectly. Shrimp were well seasoned and the steak fries were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, just like I like them. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody passing through

We went on a Thursday night in the off season. It was not busy when we walked in but was getting busier as time passed. It took awhile for server to greet us because he was at other tables. The food was very good although we didn't get our drinks from bar till we were almost done eating. It was nice and clean and the singer was very good.

Awesome service!! Waitress always had a smile, great advice and was personable! Food was fantastic and generous portions!! Well worth heading here for breakfast!

Had not been to this restaurant in a while, but it did not disappoint. The catfish was excellent! I am not a slaw eater and chose the green beans - probably the best restaurant green beans I have ever had, like home cooking! Wish I could remember my server's name but she was very pleasant and attentive.

Definitely do not recommend! We had a reservation but had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. They could not find silverware so we were given plastic silverware to eat steaks with which broke off in our food. We were served the wrong food and had two meals missing. Had to ask about the missing food and it still took 30 minutes to receive it. Asked for a manager twice and was ignored. Very loud and bad experience.

Friend and I went here when we were in Branson for the weekend. We arrived around the lunch hours and the place was pretty empty. Our waitress explained how the salad bar works (yes they have a real salad bar open!) and we were eager to hear it was open. My friend did end up getting the salad bar and enjoyed it. She shared that the there was nice variety and the items were all fresh. I asked lots of questions about menu items because I didn't really know what I wanted and she was very patient with me and I appreciated that she shared with me the top ordered dishes. I ended up ordering the cow patty and it was a great choice! The dish is HUGE and very flavorful. It really hit the spot. Their sweet tea is also delicious! I'd definitely come back next time I'm in town. I'd like to try one of their steaks - multiple came out around us and they smelled great.

The kind of place with very sticky floors and a roll of paper towels on the table. Very large crowded seating and very noisy. Lots of crying babies. Food was meh and took a long time. My Rice was hard. Waitress was very nice and attentive. Second to her, the best part was leaving. Proceed with caution.

For a 125$ bill, I'm l saving hungry. My wife had the beef tips dinner. It was salty. We both upgraded our sides to asparagus. 4 tiny spears for an extra 1.50$. I also upgraded to a loaded baked potato. Slice a baked potato down the middle and add little cheese and a couple bacon bits. I really have been craving steak so I went all in on their cowboy cut 16 oz ribeye steak. I would put money on it wasn't 16 oz and there was no seasoning. Well I guess that's why they have catchup on every table. This review is my first negative review I have ever posted on yelp. It deserved every bit of this review.

Service was bad, had to ask 4-5 times just for utensils. waitress wasn't very attentive to our table and it was very disappointing. Broken glass on the floor that our 2 yr old granddaughter kicked when walking. With that said bad service in the dining area, the food was delicious. The cooks did a great job of preparing the food. Only food issue was cool mac n cheese and a steak not cooked as ordered. But they corrected both issues. The place was packed so with the amount of tables & people Id say the cooks did great and the waitresses may have been in survival mode.

I saw a sign that said home of the tossed rolls. So I had try it. I didn't know what to expect. I enjoyed everything. The rolls were very good. I like them better than Lamberts. The food was good and reasonably priced. Service was outstanding. I'm glad I visited.

Terrible food, some steaks over cooked others undercooked. Zero customer service. So rude! Added 18% in the check for a tip so they don't care how you're treated. It's a tourist trap. Save your money and go somewhere else.

There is NO Catfish!!! The person at the front ignored us even after hearing a gentleman say to us that he had a large group and that we should move up? not sure why at first but then I realized that some of them were judge mental, you can defiantly tell which ones!! I am a lady with tattoo's I have a large angel on my back, I ride a fat boy low Harley too!!! shame on the youngster that kept staring at me with a glare, I hope she realizes that Jesus loves all and that what you dish out comes back three times fold in mysterious ways. so disappointing to go to a place with a snotty child at the front. Shame on the people that teach that being this way to others is acceptable.

Service was miserable. Order was terribly wrong. Food was decent. Salad bar was good. Nice selection. Skip the fish. Don't bother with this one. There are better spots at a lower cost.

4 of us & we're Promised free show tickets. We spent $153 & tipped the awesome waitress $30. When we came out we received 1 free old time photo card & 1 golf session. Sour end to dinner :-(

Cameron was our server and I would give him 5 stars but the food is another story. We ordered potato skins and they were good with plenty of potato under the cheese and bacon bits. My husband ordered catfish and that was also good according to him. I ordered the filet with a plain (not loaded) baked potato which needed to be baked longer. What I got was a chunk of stringy roast cut with the grain of the meat not through the grain of meat which allows for easy slicing. This was tough, almost unchewable. I asked to see the manager and he gave me my meal free but I would much rather have had a great steak which I will get at Texas Roadhouse in OKC.

The lunch special was fantastic. The fish was lightly breaded and cooked to perfectoon. The wervice was great. I will go back.

Had breakfast here and it was not good they have no toaster so they grilled the bread on only one side, no spoons to stir coffee, and dont ask for a glass of milk they don't have any. Makes me wonder how they make the biscuits and gravy without milk. Very poor breakfast not a place to return to and do not recommend to anyone.

Had salad bar & soup. Pretty sure both soups (potato & French onion) came out of cans. Husbands beef tips were tender & good but the potatoes tasted fake & were too smooth to be real. Just overall disappointing.

After reading some of the reviews I was hesitant to go but don't let those reviews fool you. This place was fantastic. Our waitress was 10/10 super friendly and checked on us often. The food was great, our favorite meal since being here in Branson. We had a great booth with a view of water just outside. The experience reminded us a lot of gatlinburg. We will definitely be coming back here!

Neat and popular place to stop. Not sure if our waiter was having an off day, but his beginning with us was sarcastic. Every question we asked was answered with a snappy answer and not helpful when deciding what to order. I didn't get that from the other staff, so we can only assume it was the waiter and not part of their "service". Food was fairly good the fried chicken was not seasoned and tasted bland. The chicken fried steak tasted good but was tough. The beef tips and Crispy Cow Patty were both good. Didn't have dessert as the waiter just dropped off our bill and didn't ask. With a different waiter visit might have been better.

Cheap food such as pre-cooked and reheated steak tips. The rolls are great and they throw them to you trying to emulate Lamberts Cafe, but the food is terrible. I don't give negative reviews lightly but... 1- the mashed potatoes were instant potatoes with excess salt..2- over seasoned steak tips reheated from probably pre-cooked..3- no musician, which was advertised.. 4- the salad bar is small snd unkept, with few options on the bar and not fresh... 5- slow service after waiting in line for 30 minutes. 6-canned cheap brown gravy.7- worst of all was a "cow pie" that was supposed to be shredded beef over mashed potatoes and gravy--- but instead was a huge pile of instant potatoes with a cup of small burnt beef bits like grill droppings, and canned gravy. There was nothing like shredded beef on it. I give the rolls, decor and unsweetened tea a 4/5. I give the poor overwhelmed server a 3/5.. way too busy. And everything else (including the restrooms) a "1/5". It was an insulting $45 bill for 2 people. Please don't waste your time and money unless you're only interested rolls and tea.

Worst food we had in Branson! It was overpriced, especially for bad food. My steak was burned on both sides and I couldn't even eat it due to that. I almost choked on every bite. The manager stopped by randomly and offered to make me another. I declined since they obviously can't cook a steak. The bbq beans tasted just like plain pork n beans with bell pepper thrown in. My son's grilled cheese was 2 pieces of hamburger buns turned over. The cheese was weird, waxy and hard. He couldn't even eat the grilled cheese. The baked potato and hot roll was good. That's it. The waitress was also good. We won't be going back. It used to be a good place to eat. How do you even mess up a grilled cheese?

Ok, so I just went here to eat today. I had high expectations for this restaurant because I love fish and steak. I got a pretzel for an appetizer, and it was good, nothing special, but good. I ordered fish, and first off, it was not catfish. I could tell it was cod. And second off, it was so plain no seasoning whatsoever it just tasted like fish and batter. It is also VERY expensive for me and two other people it was $130.41. But the fries weren't bad I guess.

The service was great and the rolls were very good. Unfortunately the food was just plain and mostly bland. The atmosphere was fun. The salad bar is very small and doesn't have a lot of options.

Great atmosphere, clean, everything going for it, but food was just average other than the rolls. We were a party of 4 and no one ate more than about half their dinners as it simply was not good. Fried Catfish Filet Gumbo Sirloin All for thumbs down unfortunately. Had high hopes.

Hostess was a terrible person, if I could've thrown a roll it would've been at her head. If we can't pay with card, I would've understand. Telling me to read a sign when you could've just proves you're not only illiterate, but proves why you're 40 working as a hostess. Get a life and a better attitude maam.

Prefab freezer burned chicken fried cardboard chicken for hubs. Undercooked catfish with soggy greasy French fries for me. It's a BIG NO!

The food is good pretty good. My husband enjoyed his sirloin. The rolls that they throw around makes for an entertaining time. The service was quick and friendly. The wall decor and statues around are great to see nostalgia of days gone by.

I know we got there later in the night , but we had to wait on clean silverware. My wife ordered the chicken gumbo, I think she got the last of the gumbo. Enough to cover the bottom of the bowl. Had to ask for refill on our drinks, had to ask for knives and had to ask for rolls. They add 3 % for using charge cards. I think I had four tiny chicken nuggets on my wilted salad. Had to ask for more dressing. No excuse, floor dirty, slippery. After 12 hours on the road we settled for a restaurant near the Wyndham. I was very disappointed in the service and the quality and quality of the service and the food. Very disappointing.

My wife and I ordered the catfish, and my daughter had a hamburger. The food was good as always. The service was great! The ambiance is very nice with country music playing in the background with a live country artist singing. It's a great place for family fun trying to catch those rolls the waiters toss to you.

i cant even give this place one star. the food was gross, restaurant was nasty and the employees were very unfriendly. We never got one roll either they said they would bring us some. Will never go back and definitely let anyone I know to stay far away from this place .
