Family Nature Resort Moar Gut (Grossarl, Salzburg) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"What’s Moar Gut than an alpine resort with a spectacular panorama and an emphasis on whole-family activities and accommodations? From bucolic treks through Austria’s Großarl valley to a dedicated trampoline room to a petting zoo with 16 Icelandic horses, it’s an all-inclusive, all-encompassing whirlwind. There’s even a “baby spa” — not to mention extensive grown-up spa facilities and a smorgasbord of swimming options. Rooms up the relaxation factor with natural wood and stone finishes, plus a terrace or balcony for the inevitable and much deserved wind-down." - Tablet Hotels

Overall Moar Gut is an incredible hotel / resort where you can really feel good and relax. The service and the friendliness of the staff is outstanding. Especially the reception staff. Rarely seen this anywhere before. The hotel facilities are awesome. The „Kinderhof“ seems to be very new and makes the kids (smaller and bigger) feel well from first visit. Lots of stuff to experience as there is a broad range of action rooms I.e climbing, trampoline etc.. Also the ski shop which is directly across the hotel has an impressive service. Friendly and totally flexible. The ski courses have been really disappointing. The Skischule is not from the hotel but you can book at the hotel. Most of the teachers seem to never have worked with kids and mix their language instantly between German English and Dutch. For many kids, this was a no goal and you saw lots of crying and unhappy participants in the courses. Our room was really small, especially the bathroom and there was no cloak room available, which would be especially during skiing season very helpful. We were only three people in the room, but with four in my view, this would be unworkable. The overall food experience was OK.breakfast was absolutely outstanding, but lunch, as well as dinner in my view only mediocre. In summary: nice hotel with great service and facilities. Food and rooms could be better

Beautiful family hotel with lots of kid related activities. Situated in a stunning location surrounded by mountains and beautiful nature. There's a small animal farm with all sorts of animals (bunnies, sheep, pigs, horses etc) and the kids can feed them. We've been there during the summer and we loved it so we went back again in the winter to enjoy it with snow. If you are thinking of a family vacation this is definitely recommended!

Moar Gut completely exceeded our expectations as a family hotel. We have never felt so well looked after in terms of friendliness, service and attention to detail. The whole team is world class and makes you feel at home right away. It's a truly family focused place where kids come first and you notice it in every part of the hotel. We left already planning our next stay.

The owners have done a great job in making it kid inclusive through and through. But its such a haven for adults too. The never-ending views, amenities, staff, service, food, kids club everything was exceptional. Wish we stayed longer. Will definitely be back.

We just came back from a 7 day holiday at Moar Gut, and my only regret is that we didn't book longer. The hotel is incredible for both adults and young ones, with wholesome activities, great food, wonderful service, and a beautiful blend of nature and luxury. My 17M daughter had the BEST time feeding the rabbits, riding the tractor, visiting the kinderhof, jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the pool, playing in the sandpit, and of course dancing with Gusti! As an exhausted mom this truly felt like a holiday because I didn't have to worry about food or entertainment, as everything is provided. Every morning you are greeted with a newspaper outlining the activities of the day, there is not a moment of boredom. The food was delicious, we absolutely loved the breakfast, and really enjoyed the afternoon popups (the best Kaiserschmarrn). The staff is also accommodating of food requests for the little ones which I appreciate. 10/10, and can't wait to be back next year!

Outstanding for young children as well as parents/grandparents who need to feel pampered while the children are looked after. Beautiful setting, fantastic facilities and great staff. Run by a wonderful Austrian family. This really is a superb place.

Amazing for kids but OMG THE FLIES!!!||Pros: SO much to do for kids! It’s like a Wonderland for children. Trampolines, gym for basketball hoops, rock climbing, amazing pool, incredible water slide that’s WARM, ball pit, art room, the list goes on. The food is nice, (though keep in mind it is served in mass quantities so some of it feels like upscale cruise quality vs a made to order restaurant.)||Cons: Expensive washing machines (4 euro a load, 3 euro to dry) and there are only two machine of each so it was kind of difficult to find a time when they were not in use. There aren’t a ton of options for picky vegetarian kids. We had a lot of pasta with tomato sauce and cheese sandwiches.||THE FLIES!!! Today is the warmest day we’ve had since being here (about 70 degrees) and good Lord the flies are intolerable!! We just had lunch and ALL the dining rooms were swarming with flies. They were bad this morning but this afternoon it is truly disgusting. At every moment there is at least one fly on our table and unless your food remains covered, a fly is guaranteed to land on your plate within a few minutes. We’ve been told and the reviews say “it’s because it’s a farm and it’s to be expected” but OMG the horses and goats do not RESIDE in the DINING ROOMS!! At least in their barn I noticed a fly zapping machine. Sticky paper and fly zappers need to be hidden in every corner of the eating areas because it is stomach turning and crazy making, especially because a lot of the food is buffet style and you know flies have already landed on it before it’s even made it to the plate. The flies are so bad they are literally crawling on the computers at the front desk (don’t ask me why). The only evidence I have that this is trying to be addressed is a few fans placed near some of the buffet items but they only detract the flies a few inches. It is so frustrating that the management doesn’t seem to care about this issue.||If it wasn’t for my husband who is very even keeled commenting that it was disgusting I would think I was taking crazy pills because all the staff and people around us seem to not react. In my country, the dining areas would not pass food inspection. ||There are also some flies in the room because the cleaning crew will open the windows when they clean. So we have some dead flies on our floor (ew stepping on them with bare feet) and they were landing on me and my husband in our sleep. ||To the management: PLEASE take better steps to mitigate the flies in the rooms and dining areas! It hugely impacted my view of the hotel and made meals unappetizing. Fly zappers in more spaces, screened doors, and hidden fly paper need to be present. ||My kids love it here and we would definitely be back if there were better pest control but I’m not sure I can tolerate this in the summer again because of the flies.

By far the most luxurious family hotel I have ever stayed at or seen. If the Ritz Carlton, St. Regis, and Four Seasons decided to combine the best elements each offers (service, cuisine, location, spa) and then you added five star childcare in a kids club this is what you would get. The horseback riding facilities are top notch for winter (giant ampatheater with floating roof so you see the alps while you train) and summer, the fact they have a stable full of Icelandic horses (who have a gait easier for children to ride) us just icing on the cake. The new trampoline park (opened in summer 2024) is super fun for both older toddlers and teens (as well as parents.. My daughter loved watching me fall into the giant airbag). Climbing wall and gym are supplemented by new AR gaming (2 I-Wall plus another facility) facilities which provide fun activities during the rainy days. The petting zoo and farm are, on brand, beautifully maintained and full of friendly animals who your child can adopt for the week getting the chance to feed them and then get a certificate at the end which my daughter proudly displays on our wall. The staff in the kids club are extremely professional, kind, calm, and friendly providing plenty of cool crafting and fun activities (including feeding the animals) all day. Gusti, the mascot, comes to dance each evening providing a fun end to the day and a great point to set bedtime. The newly renovated spa facilities are world class, think orlan or red door level service with a huge menu of treatments and massages. Located five minutes from the Grossarl ski lifts, which they bring you to whenever you are ready and then pick you up from whenever you are done (no need to deal with an annoying shuttle schedule). They also have an amazing Alm (mountain Hut) which you can hike up to and have a nice BBQ in during summer which (like the rest of the amazing activities) is just another detail (like the sleigh rides, pony beauty, tractor rides, swimming lessons, water slide) which puts Moargut on a level above and beyond any other hotel (family or otherwise) we have stayed in. Truly a dream family vacation in summer or winter. We have been lucky enough to visit on seven occasions now and we will keep going back as I don't think it's possivle to find a better, more relaxing, luxurious, easygoing yet white glove, experience.
