We had the most wonderful four-day stay at Moar Gut during the February half-term with our 6- and 5-year-old boys. This resort truly delivers a luxurious yet family-friendly experience, where both parents and children are equally considered in the design of the holiday.
We stayed in Malve, a two-bedroom suite in Blumengartl, which was renovated in June last year. It was cosy, beautifully designed, and had everything we needed. Our boys adored their bunk beds, and the additional bed frame on the bottom bunk was a thoughtful touch, ensuring our youngest didn’t roll out in the night.
The mix of à la carte and buffet dining was fantastic. We loved the flexibility of being able to pick and mix across courses, which meant we were never stuck with something we didn’t fancy. The children’s menu was a little more limited but featured popular, kid-friendly dishes. However, you could always opt for something from the main menu for little ones if the children’s options didn’t suit them. No one goes hungry here! The full-board package was a game-changer, allowing us to fully relax without worrying about meals. The kids’ drink fountains were a hit, ensuring they stayed well-hydrated throughout the day.
The Natur-Kinderhof was an absolute highlight for our boys. Running for 12 hours a day, they never wanted to leave and were always eager to return after skiing. The well-thought-out children’s programme kept them engaged with creative and active activities, and the staff were simply amazing—warm, professional, and reassuring, making us feel completely at ease leaving the boys in their care.
Even if you don’t plan to ski, there is so much to do onsite that you’d easily need a full week to experience it all. From indoor play areas to animal encounters, Moar Gut ensures families are entertained at every turn.
The pools and spa were a major highlight for us. My husband and I took full advantage of the adults-only spa areas, which offered a variety of spaces to relax and unwind. The selection of wellness facilities is impressive, making it a true retreat for parents as well.
One of the most surprising aspects was the lack of crowds despite it being half-term. While meal times made it clear there were plenty of families around, the resort is so well-designed that it never felt busy. Another brilliant feature is the underground walkways, which allow you to move between different buildings without stepping outside—a huge bonus in colder months!
Although German is the default language, given that Austria is a German-speaking country, every member of staff was fantastic at accommodating our English, and we never experienced any language barriers. The children’s movies and songs were in German, which our boys absolutely loved—after all, visiting other countries is about embracing different cultures.
Honestly, we have nothing negative to say about Moar Gut. It’s rare to find a place that balances luxury for adults with an abundance of thoughtful amenities for children. It’s a place where parents can truly relax, knowing their children are just as well catered for.
We highly recommend Moar Gut to any family looking for a high-end yet relaxed and fun-filled ski (or non-ski) holiday. We will definitely be back!
