"Just a stone’s throw from Rehana, diners will find another Iraqi-owned halal delight in the aptly named Family Cafe. Here find a selection of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items that transcend cultures from items like mushroom omelets and pancakes to more unexpected combinations like eggs with figs sampled during a recent visit. The menu is rounded out with a selection of sweets including baklava and halawa, as well as Iraqi tea and strong Turkish coffee." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Went here for the first time today and fell in love. It feels so homey in here and reminded me of my grandparent’s home. There’s outdoor seating but we sat inside. The service was amazing and the owners were so attentive and kind. We had the Iraqi tea which came with unlimited refills and a small portion of walnut bits and sugar cubes. We also got a chicken wrap and a lamb wrap. Both had generous portions and tasty sauce on the side. Don’t forget the hot sauce! We’ll definitely be coming back :)

I absolutely love to come here with friends, or as a special reward for my daughter. We'll order the Iraqi tea and share a baklava (or get breakfast together). They honestly need to raise their prices, their food is priced at what things *used* to cost and I hate to see them working for less than they're worth! Their new outdoor area was lovely even on a chilly February afternoon.

Cozy, inviting, and warm. I had the beef mix breakfast. Perfectly seasoned, the bread served with it was perfect for ditching my fork. The Turkish coffee was smooth and didn't need anything added to it. I took some halawa to go and was blown away by the balance of sweet and savory. The service was like being a guest in their home, attentive but not overbearing, friendly and I felt the love. Will be traveling again to come here, it was more than worth the mileage.

The staff is very nice and welcoming. The prices are very fair especially for the portion size. The Lamb & eggs (comes with a salad w/ house-made dressing) and fruit smoothie is DELICIOUS 😋. Parking is not as good as it could be and there is limited seating (but well worth it).

The two who run this place are so accommodating. They really care about customer satisfaction. They have a full menu with tons of traditional Iraqi items. There are some vegan options on the menu. They were very helpful and patient with explaining what was on the menu and what was in their pastry cabinet, which was dairy free and vegan. The Turkish coffee was top-notch on a sand burner. We snacked, but I'm looking forward to going back and getting the lamb dishes. They have pancakes, they have soups, they have pastries, and they have full meal meat options. I really enjoyed the baklava. The chickpea soup took a second, but after eating more of it, i started liking it. The atmosphere is... eclectic. It's unique. I liked it. The inside seating is small with only 4 booths, but they have a covered outdoor patio. I like this place and will be going when I can. I'm a sucker for Turkish coffee, and I always appreciate owners who care and go above and beyond.

WOW! This truly blew me out of the water. Delicious traditional Iraqi food with a few American breakfast dishes for the pickier eaters. The Turkish coffee was incredibly flavorful and the perfect amount of thick and creamy. The milk tea had the most beautiful blend of spices. I got the beef mix plate, served with a salad and some bread. PACKED with flavor! My daughter got the pancakes and fruit bowl- pancakes cooked to perfection and the fruit was all so ripe and juicy. It’s a small place but not very busy (which is a shame really!). Very cozy and warm inside with heated outdoor seating options. The service was, imo, perfect. They are extremely attentive and once you get your food they leave you alone for as long as you want. It’s very easy to catch someone’s eye if you need anything, because they ARE paying attention. Friendly and inviting. Rarely am I this impressed with a restaurant. I can’t recommend this place enough. I will be back again and again!
