We were provided the opportunity to stay at this hotel due to overcrowding in the Ronald McDonald house during a scheduled heart surgery at UPMC Childrens for my son. This was a completely paid for stay, which was supposed to be for at minimum 4 nights. When I first arrived, I was met with a laundry list of rules as well as an inconvenient parking situation. I quickly looked past both this minor issues since this was a free stay and relatively convenient to the hospital we were at. When i finally got to the room, I was floored by the state at which it was in. The room had two twin beds and filth everywhere. It was obvious that vacuuming had not been done and the carpets were dated, likely the original ones that were in the Courtyard Marriott before it closed. I peeled back every layer of the bed and found hairs on every sheet on both beds and I only checked one small corner. The bathroom was no better, maybe even worse. The lighting was dim and eerie, I felt unsafe almost instantly. I called the desk to try and gauge if this was their standard and they assured me it wasn't and that they would move my room. I knew at this point moving would likely result in the same experience, but I took them up on their offer anyways. Once I got to the new room, it didn't take long for me to find the same foul issues in plain sight. I would sooner stay in a motel off the turnpike than here, this hotel added an additional layer of stress to an already overwhelming situation. This building should be condemned
