Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria

Dont be a beech about it, as there's very limited options on where you can go out to eat near Beech Mtn, even with Famous Brick Oven being just 1 of 4 restaurants (that we saw) they still held a quality standard with only being 25% of your going out to eat options. That being said, the wings were amazing, pizza was amazing, mozzarella sticks were divine and pricing was decent, they could have probably charged a little less and they prob could have charged a little more. Best bang for your buck is the pizza but dont try and modify the toppings, theyre cooking lots of pizzas for lots of people at least while we went they were thats why they lost a star on service, but it was understandable, and again not trying to be a beech about it. Philly cheese steak was over priced but thats bc its incredibly delicious, one of the best Phillys ive had in years, could have also been due to extreme hunger from working muscles I haven't worked in years but nonetheless it was amazing and I stopped complaining about the price after eating it. Great establishment with putt putt and a small arcade which kids love. Would def go back and recommend to others visiting beech mtn.

I went during the summer and I loved it! It’s the perfect place to have fun, eat great food, and spend quality time with family. You must go, you won’t regret it!❤️❤️ The bbq chicken calzone was my favorite 😋

Pizza place is gently one of the best pizza places in all of Beach Mountain. It’s such good pizza. It tasted absolutely amazing. We just got a simple classic cheese and it was so good. I would definitely recommend coming here after snowboarding or skiing the entire day after beach or Sugar Mountain. They also have enormous cookies that taste amazing. Definitely one of the best pizza places I’ve ever tried, I would definitely recommend eating here!!!

This is a really unique pizza and arcade. The pizza is delicious and authentically wood-fired, and there is memorabilia all over the place. There are even two trains that run above you on suspended tracks. The only downside? Pizzas cost $30 a pop so it's not the cheapest.

This place is great! It was very crowded when we went on a Monday, but the pizza was great! We'll probably try it again a few more times on this trip! Great location coming out of Beech Mountain Ski Resort!

The food is delicious! Andrew performs every Thursday and Sunday! I’m so happy traveled here this summer. The staff are very nice. Sometimes there are live bands and is a good place for the whole family to come and chill! I love it so much!🥳

This is a great place to bring children. They have mini golf outside and a model train that runs around the ceiling inside. Ice cream , cookies, and a large selection of desserts. They are known for the wood fired pizza. They have lots of toppings to choose from. Baked pastas and subs are on the menu. They offer over 150 different different types of beer and have a full bar.

I really enjoyed my visit to Brick Oven. The place has a warm, cozy vibe and the live music made the evening even better. The staff was super friendly and made sure everything was going well throughout our meal. The food was great , the pizza was delicious, and I loved that you can add different toppings to make it just how you like it. They also have a food truck, which is excellent! Definitely a spot I’d go back to, it’s the best restaurant in Beech Mountain!

NC Mountain Pizza - unique and tasty! After wrapping up a short day of skiing at Beech Mountain, we hit FBOP for a to go pizza and a couple desserts. This pizza absolutely hit the spot! Very friendly team, all were smiling (at 4:30 PM on Christmas Eve) and there was minimal wait time. We had a Hawaiian plus bacon to go, along with a giant cookie and a piece of cake. Yes, pricing is a bit on the higher side for a pizza, and the sauce, crust and cheese tasted like they were fresh and of quality - not your chain store pizza... plus the pineapple was super fresh on our Hawaiian. This was my first visit and I loved that the crust is buttery and the outer edge is like a pretzel. The cookie was giant and tasty, too. We'll be back!

The SHORT REVIEW: over priced food that doesn't live up to "famous", "brick oven" or the heavy price tag. The LONG REVIEW: Your first RED FLAG will be finding absolutely no pricing on their website, menus, or anywhere else on the Internet. The Famous Brick Oven Pizzeria on Beech Mountain (at 5506 ft above sea level) elevates their skills of pizza making to delusional grandeur. I can't even honestly say that the pizza is average. It's round, like a pizza. It has cheese, like a pizza. It has a tomato sauce underneath the cheese, like a pizza, but its overall flavoring is underwhelming. When I physically picked up the pizzas, they seemed unusually heavy. My first thoughts were, "these pizzas must be really doughy or they've included the brick oven." Then you're hit with the next shocker, as in, sticker shock... the price, $65.00. It's almost impossible to comprehend how they can justify that price for mediocre pizza. They must be trying to recoup the cost of schlepping those boring ingredients up the side of the mountain. There are a lot of good places to get pizza. This isn't one of them. And Dalton K. may acknowledge the review, but he doesn't seem interested in making it any easier to swallow his pizza.

We were in Beech Mountain to spend our New Year and arrived this past Monday. It was very busy, but the line to order was steady. It was crowded and loud but everyone seemed to be having a nice time filling their bellies. Plastic ware was readily available which was convenient, as well as take out pizza boxes. We were able to find seating quickly while we waited. We're glad we decided to drive over and not call ahead for pick up since they seemed to pick up and hang up the phone everytime it rang. Not a good practice. The pizza here was recommended by our Airbnb host and it was everything he said it would be. Amazing with mountaintop pricing. Lol. We had a delicious BBQ and Works pizza, wings, sub and pasta. You won't be disappointed! It was a great start to our vacation.

What a lovely place with something for everyone! The margarita pizza was outstanding. They also have fresh homemade cookies and ice cream. There is a game room for the littles and outside a mini putt golf course. The environment is family friendly and well worth a visit!

Good pizza, garlic bread and beer. Fast, friendly service. We have been visiting the Brick Oven every time we go to Beech Mountain for over a decade and a half. It is a bit pricey and extremely busy during tourist high season but it's good and we make time to eat there every trip. Go to Brick Oven. Brick Oven is better than many other food options on Beech (White Wolf/Holy Smokes). DON'T go to White Wolf Lodge/Holy Smokes. Tricia, a manager, makes up fake Yelp reviews for the company to dupe customers. Barbeque is pricey, poor fare (compared to Fred's which you should try if you want barbeque) with unfriendly Incompetent management (Yep! That's you Mike) harasses/threatens customers when staff lose receipts. Mike refuses to admit error even though female staff already said mistake and harassing calls were made. Eat at the Brick Oven for a nice experience and good pizza on Beech Mountain

I'm a NC native! On my regular trips to Beech this is a must stop and sometimes a twice stop! Best pizza I've had in all of NC. you can't beat the views and the people are lovely, & service is great. It's a local haven for anyone who enjoys fresh pizza and the dough is fresh and amazing. It has a nice crunch and you get all the flavor from the meat! I will say my last visit, they have changed the amount of meat the add onto their "meat lovers" but it was still very good quality pizza. Oh yes...do stop by and do enjoy yourselves. 10/10

52 dollars for two large pepperoni pizzas that I picked up - food was decent but this was obviously some type of price gouging due to the concert at Beech Mountain.

Was OK food but too expensive. The price didn't match the quality. I would prefer dominos over this place tbh. Was $56 for a large pizza and 10wings lol. That's insane. Plays paid an extra $6 for the desert we got after. But was fun to try something new out. I also tried the huge chocolate chip cookie that was being hyped up on the reviews of this place. It looked delicious but it was not. It was stale and tasted freezer burnt. Prob won't come back here again.

Charlie the bartender is amazing! Jimmy is also amazing! We had an amazing time - the pizza is great but more importantly the people are EVEN BETTER!! Seriously, could not reccommend more. Made our trip 10x better!! You have to stop here!!

4 stars for the food. The pizza was delish. We just picked up pizza so didn't eat inside. My big complaint is that they won't take orders for anything grilled or fries over the phone. So we have one kid who won't eat pizza and wanted a grilled chicken sandwich. But we couldn't order that at the same time that we ordered over $100 worth of pizza. Seems really odd to me. I don't understand the big problem with making a grilled chicken sandwich. Got to the restaurant to pick up the pizza- thinking we would order the sandwich when we arrived but the line to place orders was through the restaurant and out the door. Very disappointing.

Peak holiday week - this place was overwhelmingly crowded. It was a long line at 5pm, and after that, a fairly long wait for pizza to be ready, and limited available seating due to crowds. We tried going into the arcade but I couldn't get the kiosk machine to work to take any of my cards (credit card, debit card, etc,), so we didn't play games. I suppose after all of that... I did expect the pizza to be magical. But in reality - The pizza (and cookies) were really good but not "magical" I think they may have a hard time keeping up with big crowds at peak season (which I can understand). I do love the idea of this place and next time I plan to call ahead and order as take-out! One suggestion for crowd flow: the drink line might be better placed on the front porch, rather than going through the pizza-line to get to the drink line.

Being up on Beech Mountain, your food choices are VERY limited. From what I could tell from my 3 days there, the choices are Sandwiches, Mexican, Breakfast/Coffee, American/Bar/Brewery, Pizza, and Barbecue. To have something else, you must drive 10 minutes down the mountain for slightly more choices. But being a touristy mountain town, just know all the food is overpriced. The alternative is cooking wherever you're staying but who wants to do that on vacation? One of my daughter's favorite foods is pizza. It's quick, it's easy, and it hits the spot. Because our schedule was erratic because of skiing at Beech Mountain, we would eat either a late lunch or early dinner. A chunk of restaurants on the mountain don't open on that schedule and some even close early, so we ended up eating here twice. At peak times, this place is packed. We went at 7 PM on a Friday and we had to wait about 35 minutes to just put our order in. There's ample seating and a lot of people take their food to go, it's just waiting to get the food is what takes so long. The 2nd time we went for lunch at about 2:30 PM and it wasn't packed at all. Here's what I do know. If you like pizza, pasta, wings, or calzones, this is your place. If you like fresh, daily made desserts, this is your place. If you like beers, this is your place. For the pizzas, you can either build your own (which I would advise against because the individual toppings end up outpricing pre-configured options) or get a pre-configured pizza. The first time we had The Works, which is similar to what Papa John's has and the second time I got the Hawaiian. There are two sizes, regular and large. The cost difference between the two is minimal, anywhere from $2-3 difference for a considerable slice difference. What hurts is the fact that my Works was around $35 for the large (8 slices). I don't recall the wings pricing but there's a small & large order as well. The pizza is good and that's one of the reasons we went twice. The edge crust is braided and the toppings-to-cheese-to-sauce ratio is perfect. Big wings scare me because sometimes they aren't cooked enough and small wings make me angry because it's a rip-off and you end up with chicken jerky. Their wings were the crispy, had ample sauce tossed on them, and the perfect size not too big/not too small. Overall, I really like this place despite the price. It's good food in a cool atmosphere. There is an arcade in the back of the restaurant but I didn't have any cash or coins, so I didn't even bother taking my daughter back there. I'll be back the next time I'm in the area!

Just to offset the entitled negative reviews that are received on Beech Mountain during ski season...highly recommend!!! Our grandkids love going to have pizza and play in the arcade. Great variety for dessert options. Beer wall has tremendous selection

Met John, one of the owners, on Beech Mountain. What a passionate gentleman about his business and taking care of his employees & customer experience! Because of his enthusiasm, I chose his pizza over all other pizza options on the mountain and in the area. They did not disappoint! I ordered two bottles of wine; one for while I waited and one to enjoy with my meal. I ordered the large Formaggio Pizza (3 kinds of cheese). The big marshmallows you see are large dollops of ricotta cheese! I ordered a side of sauce because I LOVE SAUCE and bathing in it should be an option at a good pizza joint! Everyone that works at this place genuinely enjoys their job! The vibe is Family & Fresh! Make this place a must on you dining list! MOST SINCERELY!

This place is good but very very pricey. If you are balling on a budget, stay away. The pizza was delicious! The cookies for dessert that are freshly baked were just as delicious. You order at the counter and wait for your name to be called. Very busy restaurant. Lots of parking.

Perfect dinner option for the family and with friends. Such a fun vibe with seriously fantastic pizza. The calzone was like a giant stuffed pizza and the desserts were amazing. We tried so many - milkshake, cannoli, cheesecake, smores. We stayed one weekend and went TWICE so you know it's good!

Good pizza and wings! We enjoyed food and arcade. I loved the crust of pizza. Super cute decorations with super Mario's and ninja turtles. This place gets really busy but moves fast. My son loved the arcade. Good place for families.

I wanted to like this place so much. It has Famous in the name, it boasts the best brick oven pizza. When you walk in, it is pandemonium. We WERE there during the three weekends of the year that the Land of Oz turns all of Beech Mountain into a filled to the gills tourist town. That's exactly what this is. Tourist food. There is no brick oven. More than half of the menu isn't available. The staff is rude. People are shoving by just to get a table. There is an arcade in the back that I didn't even want to step foot into because it looked too stressful. We hadn't eaten in many an hour as we walked all over Oz and we were quite hungry. After we waited in a winding line, we got to the counter and placed an order. We were told all the items that weren't available and changed accordingly. When I asked about how long the wait was, I got an eye roll. She then pointed to a sign about ordering cheese bread if we are hungry..so I did. The food came out all at the same time anyway. I had gotten two beers from the cooler wall, where there is an employee in a little room that checks ID (she was super friendly, but the concept is odd). We started eating and I thought...what is this famous for? Everything was a little under cooked. The cheese bread that was supposed to save the day was just...boo. There was not one sprinkle of salt on anything, and I really doubt there was a brick oven involved. They get points for cute pizza parlor décor to include all the Ninja Turtles.

Nice pizza place, if overpriced. No complaints about the people who work there, and there's putt putt golf outside the restaurant. It's a fun experience, even if the food is pretty standard.

Ordered a pizza a specific way, when we picked it up it was definitely NOT what we asked for. We also ordered a simple, yet specific type salad... didn't get it right either. SO... when we got there, we had a small window of time allotedto wait, so we told them we would wait on them to "re-fix" each item. When we got our NEW pizza and salad, they had just added to the pizza we had before. And it was quite frankly, terrible! And they were so rude! SO rude. Like, they were mad at US that THEIR PIZZA had flopped! That THEIR SIMPLE SALAD wasn't anything near what we had asked for to begin with. And THEY WERE GETTING MAD?? Iwas floored! I really was! I couldn't believe they were being such buttheads about it. And it wasn't our fault! It was clearly their fault. Never again! It was good when it was good!

The pizza was only average if that and was expensive for what you get. The saving grace was the piano player who was excellent. Game room was a disappointment.

The pizza here is pretty good. Many different options. My fav was the cheese, meaty pizza, & buffalo was my favorite!

We absolutely love this place. We stop at least once every time we're in the area (sometimes more). The pizza is great! The atmosphere is amazing! In the summer they frequently have live music and in winter they are consistently slammed busy. The service is great as well. The beer selection is superb and there are usually deals on purchasing 5-6 at a time which is great for large parties. We can't wait to go back, every time we visit.

Conveniently located in Beech Mtn so no need to drive down the mtn to find pizza & wings. The food is very good though a bit pricey but you save on gas.

The staff is friendly and personal . The food is amazing . The activities for families and children are plentiful . Menu is a huge variety of choices and service superb! If you are planning a trip to the Beech Mountain area Brick Oven is a must!!!

This place is so awesome after a day of skiing. Fun atmosphere, excellent pizza (really), ice cream, tons of local beer options (cans/bottle) and amazing looking cakes. What in the world. Famous Brick Oven Pizza people, well done. You are now famous to me and my son.

We got the Margherita pizza, the cheese pizza, and some cookies. The pizza was not great but the giant cookies we're yummy. The staff is very friendly and it's a cute and unique place with lots to do.

The food and ambiance was great for an off-season ski town. Was very impressed by the quality of the pizza and happy about the gluten free options.

Very much enjoyed our dinner last night. We are in town for a concert and were in the mood for pizza. There was live music which was an added bonus. It was busy outside and a few people inside. Expected our order would take at least 30 mins, but they had it out in no more than 10mins. Had the Hawaiian pizza, cheese bread, and a cookie. Yummmy! If we didn't live 2,000+ miles away, we'd be back!

Great Location and easily accessible. We ordered a Lg The Works Pizza, Cheesy Garlic Bread, and Hot Wings. Everything tasted so good and had a lot of flavor. I love the added touch of seasoning the crust on the pizza. Has a nice garlicky taste! The cheesy bread was crusty and cheesy, paired with a great marinara. We called in our order and it was ready in 20 minutes, and very friendly staff. We will definitely be back!

Was looking for a quick dinner in Beech. Definitely not a nice restaurant but the takeout was quick and the pizza was HOT! Staff was friendly and this place was bustling at 4:45pm haha! Would recommend if you're looking for a quick bite. I was going to rate this place a 3.5 but their giant cookies bumped it to a 4.

It was crazy busy, but wow!!!! The staff was AMAZING! These people were kind and curious even though the line was almost out of the door and people were waiting for tables. They all were the epitome of grace under fire. We ordered 3 large pizzas and wings. Every pizza had toppings that were fresh and tasty! The parm and garlic wings were also fantastic. This morning, when I went to write this review, I was shocked at some of the ratings. There were eight of us and everyone loved what they ate. You should try this place! Even when it is crowded they handled the line, bused the tables, and produced fantastic pizza.!!

Eclectic decor that I appreciated. There's a model train running along the ceiling that I think young kids would love. We went there because it was close and had an arcade to entertain my 9 and 11 year olds. which it did quite well. Our house salads were great. Fresh, delicious, and big. Same for the beer selection....over 150 to choose from! They have a full bar as well, but I didn't order any cocktails. The set-up is interesting, you order at the counter your pizza and fountain drinks, pay there and then go pick your beer out of the cooler and go to another register to pay for your alcohol separately. When your food is ready, they call your name and you go up to the counter and pick it up. There is staff that clears the tables for you. Now for the pizza. I am a New York or Chicago style fan. This is neither. It's a soft, garlic crust, almost like DiJorno but better. The toppings, sauce and cheese were sparse. The large size pizza is enough to feed 3 people, but it's $28. Pretty expensive for what you get. The bonus was that, it just wasn't that good so I wasn't tempted to eat too much. They also have pasta and sandwiches. My mom had the gyro. She said it was good. I give it 4 stars because the overall experience was good.

We popped in for lunch at 11 and we greeted right away by a lady asking if we'd been there before. We had not. She handed us a couple menus and told us how it works. You seat yourself. There's a counter to order and a wall of beers that are all one price. There's a counter on the other side with the bakery and ice cream. Through the middle, there's an arcade. There's a train track with a strain running hanging from the ceiling. My daughter especially liked the life size ninja turtles hanging from the ceiling. The pizza and beer were delicious. My only suggestion is to make the restrooms gender neutral. There are only two restrooms and both are private/single stall. It would be more efficient to make both gender neutral. By the time we left, the line was to the door. So, probably don't wait until you're hungry to get there.

I went here with some friends this past weekend and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a delicious pizza and wings place. The food came out quickly. The teriyaki wings were flavorful, and the pizza was delicious. The atmosphere is a great place for families and friends. There is also an arcade and dessert section in the restaurant.

Pizza was good, wings weren't that great! Food came out pretty fast considering it was really busy. We took it to go. Family oriented, games and cool ambiance. Pizza is a 4 wings 2-3! I am a wing snob though!

Pizza was good but I didn't see the traditional brick oven taste or look. Pretty pricey for what it is but after all this is a tourist/ski resort place so $$$ is to be expected. This place seems to stay busy, but I don't see the attraction. Desserts looked delicious but I didn't actually try them. Great beer selection, and that's really all I have for this place.

I'm one of those people that loves pineapple on pizza, so I had to try the Hawaiian. It was truly one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Crust was crispy, yet not over done. Toppings were fresh and delicious. Staff was extremely helpful. The desserts looked delicious but opted not to order any. I did order a side of wings, they were okay. (Hence the 4 star). This is a very family friendly place. Lots of kiddos. Oddly, the table, counters etc felt a little sticky.

Not sure why they have 3 stars maybe staffing... because I've been coming here for 8 plus years. Have met the owners and the Boys at other events such as the kite festival and Oz fest.. But the Pizza is out of this world.. the FF are to die for and the Cheese Steaks are so good we order them and a pizza and take the pizza home.. The baked goods are delicious.. the cookie is massive and yummy another take home.. it is pricey but it's so good we have to go.. as we crave it.. i personally love coming here always good food and always good atmosphere.. staff is hit or miss. I have to tell a story. Of the cheese steak. We like pizza steak grinders. So we ordered them. The young girl said we're out.. I'm like your out of steak? She said NO. Out of the Rolls? No.. pizza joint can't be out of sauce and mozzarella.. she says no we have that... One of the owners sons cane and took care of it. Had to lift my jaw off the floor but what are ya gonna do?

The pizza was great! My husband said it's his favorite style of pizza. You grab a seat and go up to the counter to order your food and they'll call your name once it's ready. There's plenty of things to keep your attention while waiting. The more you look around the more find. There's an arcade in the back of the restaurant as well. They have ice cream, cookies the size of a big paper plate and some other desserts there as well.

Most Famous brick over pizzeria ... That was something !! Calzone ... Not even done . Nasty raw nasty. This is way faaaar from being any FAMOUS pizza .. I couldn't even look at that someone puke inside . Desserts were sitting there for days. Tiramisu about to break down just to sit on plate. They should stop do pizza in mountains and try something different. Guys in kitchen need some training Or just try something like wings m, burgers or hot dogs ... Nothing complicated

Expensive but worth every penny. You get lots of toppings and lots of pizza very filling. Has a cool arcade and I like the way they put ton of random things for decorating. There's a train set that goes around the inside on the rafters and there's ninja turtles and Mario and Luigi hanging from ceiling. I was greeted well great service.

I actually did not stop in so won't comment on the shop but friends brought me back wings to the cabin one evening. They had a mix of wings, pizza, and baked zetti. I asked for sauce on the side but ended up with wings no sauce and no ranch dressing. Wings were very dry (perhaps sauce would have helped). Friends enjoyed their wings and pizza. One eating the baked zetti commented it was missing seasoning and was to bland to eat. The other friend ate hers but said the cheese was good and the sauce was basic.

This place is a GEM on top of the mountain! I'd be lying if i said I can NOT wait to go back. We live about 2 hours from beech mountain and I'd make the drive just to go eat there! Get there early, the line gets crazy there, but their staff keeps it rolling & it's impressive to see! We got pizza, wings and my son got chicken tenders! Wow at the amount of food they give you! Can I just say, the pizza is out of this world good and the twisted crust is so good & so cool! If you can make it out without getting one of their delicious cookies, good for you but you are missing out! Those will be the best cookies you ever eat! Hands down! Oh & my son enjoyed the arcade! Seriously wish we would have found this place sooner!

The pizza is good, my family loves it, but what makes this place great is the setting. (They serve other food too that is good.) The staff is friendly and efficient. There's a little putt putt course and picnic tables! They had live music on a recent visit and it was such a wonderful experience for the whole family.
