Good barbecue chain with expected menu. The barbecue pork sandwich is very tasty and a reasonable amount of food for lunch. The beans were also good as a side. Both the beans and the barbecue sauce on the pork were a little sweet which was nicely offset by the slight heat of the pickles. The ribs here are also very good. Great service. It was prompt and attentive from both the host and the server. The space was large and suited to it's purpose. There was enough room not to feel crowded even when busy. They do have unsecured Wi-Fi for customers. Parking was not an issue.

Google
Went to eat lunch here with my wife and daughter. Had a great time, food was amazing! Tried their new margarita which paired nicely with lunch. Our server Jeff was amazing! We'll definitely be back :)

Google
Everything was delicious as hell!! Waitress was super nice and she got a good tip. She also moved us tables which was cool. If your ever by here go ahead n stop by!

Google
Worst barbecue that I have ever had.. Famous Dave's used to be good. unfortunately not anymore. We would never go back.. the pulled pork was extremely dry and the brisket had a strange consistency and taste.. it hurt our stomachs pretty bad the next day as well.. although we did receive excellent service from the waitress

Google
OMG I really don’t enjoy chain restaurants, but this was so bomb💣 from being seated with kindness… Rachel our waitress is the best… we spilled a drink (no drinking at that time) and they were so kind to help us clean it up.. Happy hour 🫶🏾🙌🏾 was a winner with the sampler platter for a meal… Definitely a winner 🥇

Being from Mississippi, I love me some BBQ. We chose Famous Dave's because we familiar with the name. When we arrived there was no one in front of us, the restaurant was far from full and the individual asked us to wait while she prepared a table. A couple arrived after us and was seated immediately by a different individual. Once we arrived at our table we waited and waited. Finally Erica, who ended up being our server notice we had not been seen and apologized. She asked if she would assist us and we were grateful we had been noticed. Erica was personable, knowledgeable and quite helpful when it came to my brides gluten free issues. I am quite glad Erica assisted us. I was deeply disappointed in the "Sweet Tea" Famous Dave's served. To be quite frank, McDonalds has better sweet tea. The food was tasty but Erica made the visit worth it. The restaurant was clean and no issues with parking.

Absolutely wonderful, pretty, pleasant young lady. The young man , who was management assisted her with a couple answers and gave both of us Good product knowledge so we could both learn what the specials consisted of. Absolutely loved my experience and Hats off to the cooks. The food was mouth watering delicious. I had to go to church and repent for bring glutinous.

Google
We were served by Rachel, she was super professional and polite. Helped us to navigate the menu. Food was outstanding, this is my third visit and can say it’s been consistently great. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Come on man! It's obvious you are cutting the meat from the slab. Just raise the dam price and quit thinking you're fooling people!!!

Yelp
Me and my family love going to this famous Dave's exactly because Jen makes our dining in great, super fun, super sweet and that's the only reason why we go there. The food is great, but Jennifer is the reason why we go to that one.

Yelp
Amazingly disappointing! Let me start by acknowledging the staff. They were awesome, attentive, and very pleasant. Zero complaints about the service or the people. However the food was exceptionably bad. The brisket was dry like chalk and the wedge fries were entirely forgettable. The salad dressing was runny, almost like the Blue Cheese was watered down. The Roast chicken was good, moist, and had some flavor. The corn bread should be squares cut from a pan and fresh cooked, instead tasted like a store bought corn muffin with a honey glaze spread on top. I was overall disappointed by a large margin. The restaurant sits on far too large a foot print (square space) for the business I saw there. For proof to my point, you need only look at the sad bar space that had less back stock of spirits and liquor than my own home cabinet. I sincerely doubt that the large bar area ever sees a crowd commensurate with its size. Any bar where the bartenders can lock the register and disappear for 10 minutes at a time, does not have the business it needs on a Saturday afternoon during football season. One of the rare 1 star ratings, I've ever dropped.

Yelp
I ordered a slab of ribs last week they looked delicious when I got them home however they were very dry so they've been around a while or they was just way overcooked but I just think they were old some of them you couldn't even chew it it was tougher than beef jerky you couldn't chew it you couldn't swallow it it wasn't edible I'm very disappointed I've ordered from them many times and it was always good I don't know what happened this time but be careful when ordering it was a waste of $35

Yelp
This is my go to bbq place though it's 20 minutes from my house in which I'm ok with. They have lunch combos everyday 7 days a week. Not like most establishments that only have weekday specials. I've never had issues with their food except today I wish they were more careful ensuring I had the right meal and not jamming the foods altogether as the picture shows. My cornbread was smashed and Mac and cheese was all smashed with the rest of the meats. Other than that the service was courteous. Word to the wise always check your carry out ingredients as I wasn't the only one wise order was incorrect while there.

Yelp
We ordered for delivery and it was fine. Nothing special. Just Luke warm bbq. Unfortunately the delivery driver never rang the door bell as requested.
google avatar

Bill S.

Yelp
I don't think this place deserves the poor rating it has. The BBQ, while not being the best I've ever had was flavorful. The baby backs were not fall off the bone at all but I realize not everyone wants them that way. They tasted great. The sausage was good as well. Wilber beans had a nice flavor and the bread pudding was surprisingly excellent considering how far from New Orleans Denver is. It's a chain and this isn't exactly the high end of town but I enjoyed it.

Yelp
Not really thrilled after trying famous Dave's for the first time. Their prices were pretty steep and their brisket wasn't too moist. Their fish was decent as well as their sides. Placed an order on their app and it was luckily ready when we arrived which was definitely a plus. Staff were also pretty friendly.

Tom Y.

Yelp
Very good service. Not so good food. Brisket was very dry and salty. Tastes almost like old corned beef. Broccoli was good. Mashed potatoes were cold.
google avatar

Melinda P.

Yelp
I'll start off by saying that this is not in a good area (lots of shady people around parking lot) but as far as the restaurant itself...we stood in the lobby waiting to be seating, there was already 1 person who had been standing there awhile when we entered. No one was even around for about 10 min. Restaurant was not busy so I don't really know where everyone was. Food was ok nothing spectacular. We ordered off the lunch menu so expected smaller portions but when I paid extra for catfish fingers I did expect to get more than 3 little French fry sized pieces.

Yelp
Since I was on my lunch break and in the area at the time I came to this location. The look and feel of this location compared with others that I have been to is alot different but the service was still on par to what Ive come to expect. My food arrived in a relatively fast manner and it was hot and freshly prepared. The wait staff was friendly, polite, and accommodating.

Yelp
I've lived in Colorado for 30 years, and would frequent the Stapleton Famous Dave's location and was always very disappointed, the portions were always very skimpy which didn't justify the price I haven't been to Famous Dave's now for over 28 years and have no intention of ever going back there.
google avatar

Sarah A.

Yelp
The location is easy to get to. Plenty of parking and the inside of the restaurant was neat and tidy. Our server was super nice and made sure our waters were full. I ordered "burnt ends" from the menu. There is an upcharge for this item. I have had burnt ends in the past from other barbeque places and understand why there would be an upcharge. However, what came to the table was not burnt ends. It was diced up meat with a very dark sauce for the "burnt" look. This was disappointing. We were excited for the corn bread having heard how delicious it was. It came to the table and crumbled in our hands when we tried to eat it. Their pickles are great!

Laura E.

Yelp
We ordered our food for pickup at the Stapleton location. Apparently if that location is busy Famous Dave's sends the order to the Thornton store. We didn't realize they had changed locations until we were on the road. We had to drive 12+miles out of the way, one way. The food and service were good. The sides, Mac & cheese and corn were good but the portions were skimpy.

Yelp
I just picked up my order and spent almost $90 on the All American BBQ Feast. I ordered curbside, waited in my car for 35 minutes, had to go in. Then they were missing the cheese curds and bread pudding from the order. Had to order those separately. Stood there waiting. Then I get home and not only are the cheese curds missing the cheese/sauce but, there are only 15 tiny pieces in the box! Then the bread pudding was missing the sauces as well, just the bread was thrown in a box! Then to make it even worse...I get home and there are missing items from the ALL American Feast :( EXTREMELY UNHAPPY! I have called the corporate head office to file a complaint. Absolutely disgusting. Take my money and give me S**T!! Updated review (two weeks later). I responded to their email form and explained what happened with photos again, still no response! They don't care. I remember not too long ago before COVID when customer service was a real thing. Now they take your money and serve you crap. Time to reach out to the BBB :)

Yelp
Three years later and their To Go meals are still horrible. I ordered this afternoon, $18.36 I kid you not. I completely stopped going to this restaurant a few years ago, 3 to be exact. Thought I would give it another try. Still sucks. No value for your money and they obviously could careless because they have done nothing to improve. Honestly appears to be worst, just more money for this junk.

Yelp
I was in the store on Veterans Day for the veterans meal. First, the cashier at the To-Go counter was very friendly and professional, so no problems there. The Veterans Day Georgia Pulled Pork sandwich was good, so thank you. I decided to purchase a brisket sandwich to take home to share, but it went into the refrigerator for yesterday's meal. What a disappointment, it was a bad/horrible/dry tasting sandwich. It wasn't just me, because my daughter took the first bit and said it tasted dry/strange. Further it had very little meat. I will add that I know BBQ as a CBJ. I have been to this location a number of times over the years and this was a first.

Yelp
For years our Seattle favorite and now our Denver feast. Love the people, the food and always the surroundings. Favorite BBQ sauce is Devil Spit

Yelp
Overall. I was not blown away. The briscuit was actually hard and the ribs were so over cooked it was difficult to swallow. The macaroni was great, but that was it for me. Overall it wasn't what I was expecting. Oh well, I'll probably try it again , they could have just been having a day.. we all have them.

Kim R.

Yelp
Definitely feel like we wasted over $100 for subpar food. The lunch salad was $12 and was basically a side salad. Could literally see the bottom of the container. Had 5 strips of chicken that were charred and bland. The catfish was 4 small pieces and was beyond salty, couldnt even eat them. The corn bread tasted like cardboard so we couldnt eat those and we had 4 of them. The garlic mashed potatoes didnt taste at all like garlic, couldnt pin point the taste but they tasted old and made me feel sick. The only things that were decent were the meats and fries. Everything else was a serious disappointment. Will not be ordering from them again.

Yelp
The interior like the location is kinda bland; all white. My expectations were low. It was packed, and I was the only woman on the bar side, plus the AC is a little high even for an 100° Denver day. Gosh was the food good! Our server, Taza; also the bartender for the whole place; was fun and very busy, but she took our order, after asking us to please wait and it was worth it! We ordered the 2uesday dinner special for 2: Ribs, 1/2 a grilled chicken and brisket or pork (we had brisket and corn, cole-slaw, baked beans, potato wedges AND corn bread muffins. Everything was wonderful, no sauce needed, maybe the corn on the cob was just ok, the brisket was good, but the chicken and ribs and potato wedges and the beans and the muffins! (OMG)!! $33! The potato wedges were fluffy and crispy- truly fresh, I ate much more than planned. We stuffed ourselves and we still had all of this left. I am picky and this exceeded my expectations by a mile, and it was a deal. We have lots of leftovers. The location: in a mall on Quebec and the White interior is just ok, but the food rocks and $6 margaritas- good ones!! Yum.

Yelp
Super slow service. Came here to pick up a to go order of build your own "dead cow" for a dead cow lover and a few cans of bad, sugar carbonated drinks. All very slow and the just horrendous. Totally wouldn't eat here again. The cashier was very nice and such a good humor overall! He was speaking Spanish to the cooks and I loved how fun and care free he was. Food wise and service? Never.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
Worst BBQ Ive ever had. Sooo salty. Brisket texture was chewy and disgusting. Ribs were tough. Beans tasted like someone just added a bottle of bbq sauce. Absolutely horrible. There are so many places in Denver that are better!
google avatar

Beto C.

Yelp
Hold up! You can smell the bbq from the parking lot. Get the family platter and feast! They have all kinds of sauces. Get a full belly and smile on your face. Because this is comfort food to me. Sheesh !!
google avatar

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Not from the area but super glad I ran into this tasty little spot! Nice crew, good vibes and the brisket had a great drool factor! Ribs fell off the bone! If I'm here again I will return!
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
Tons of parking (that's pretty important). Nice atmosphere. Greeted when we walked in. Food was excellent. Nice natural smoke smell but not overbearing (been in BBQ joints that when you leave you smell like a house fire). Menu is standard. Ribs, brisket, chicken, pulled pork and a handful of sides. Multiple sauce selections (they sell sauce). Because the food was good, I didn't use much sauce (a great sign). Service was attentive (Gregory Willis). Very helpful and friendly. Recommend checking out if you want to sit down or grab and go as they have a take out section too.
google avatar

Robb D.

Yelp
Pretty much the worst restaurant in the neighborhood. We went on a Monday, nothing was fresh. Bbq was clearly reheated (and not well). We ordered burnt ends and got sausage instead. Cornbread was dry and slightly burnt. Waitress looked overwhelmed (perhaps they were short staffed) forgot about drink orders, made poor jokes, and really seemed like they didn't want to be there that day.
google avatar

Tonton M.

Yelp
Famous Dave's had been a place that was known for decent BBQ, The experience today unfortunately places them near the bottom like so many BBQ places in Denver. A three meat combo should come with adequate portions, however what was recieved was the equivalent of an appetizer sampler that was cut in half. The hand battered chicken seemed to be a day old, the Wilbur beans tasted like diluted pork and beans, The brisket lacked flavor and was cut incorrectly, and the leg quarter looked like the quarter of a Cornish hen instead of a chicken. All portions including the sides were small and not worth the $26 plus delivery charges. Extremely disappointing dining experience and a huge waste of money.
google avatar

Harlee S.

Yelp
I've dined at Famous Dave's a couple times and have fond memories with family here. The interior is cozy, warm and big. It's a great spot for larger parties. The staff are friendly and the service is quick. There's a good selection of food, but it's more expensive. They have family deals, combo meals and sandwiches. A good value for the price, but there are other places that are more affordable. The food is good and the servings are a decent size. I suggest the family meals because you get a whole bunch of food all from your choosing. One of my favorite things is good Barbecue and Famous Dave's knows how to deliver.

Yelp
Haven't been here in awhile since Covid, and it was mostly take out. I'm not sure when they remodeled it, but it looks brighter and cleaner inside. The staff was on point and very friendly, I believe our waitress was Maya? She took our order promptly and was extremely attentive. It wasn't that busy when we got there around 5:30pm. As soon as we ordered our food, the dinner crowd started coming in. I had a Caesar salad and salmon with some mashed potatoes. I know, I usually order something on the meaty side of the menu. The food was delicious, also had some iced tea, we didn't even have ask for refills they just brought it as soon as our glasses were almost empty. We loved that. Definitely will come again and we left a great tip. Thank you guys, keep up the great work Random after work dinner with some coworkers, it's literally within walking distance or less than a block away.
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
Check your food if you do a pick up order, the is partially my fault, but half my order was missing or wrong, I ordered burnt ends, roasted chicken and mashed potatoes but instead received two corn on the cob and Mac n cheese? Also the Caesar salad was made with old, wilted, brown lettuce. Ended up tossing most of the order into the trash, cornbread muffin was pretty good though. Super disappointed overall, won't return.

Steve P.

Yelp
I got the chopped pork sandwich with my side being broccoli, never go late at night, the chopped pork sandwich was mostly nothing but fat and very little broccoli, it's like they was out of chopped pork and broccoli the least they could have done was offer me some other kind of meat and side, don't just throw something together just because that's what the customer ordered!

Rusty B.

Yelp
Worst place Ive ever have the pleasure of spending my dinner at, you wait 25 minutes for reheated frozen food that comes out cold... and dont order a double of any cocktail... apparently it comes as a 1.5 shot drink. Server was nice but made us wait almost 10 mins to come pick up our bill as we stared at her joking with her co workers... place is pretty clean tho! thats about it
google avatar

Lance L.

Yelp
This was our first visit. Pro Tip- If you join their E-Club you get a free sandwich which is a $12.00 value. It's immediate so you can do it sitting at the table. It says no multiple use, but my wife and I both did it and they were kind enough to honor them both. So basically, FREE LUNCH! This place is actually very good. Our waitress was super nice, the atmosphere is good and the service was quick! We were in and out in a half hour but could linger as long as we felt I'm sure. The food isn't really picture worthy but was above average. We both enjoyed the brisket which was delicious, so hats off to kitchen staff! Big dining room so large parties could easily be accommodated. Would I go again? Well I don't normally eat BBQ but if I was in the area, sure, why not! With all the chain BBQ joints in and around Denver I give this place 2 thumbs up!
google avatar

Jese S.

Yelp
They don't take call ahead reservations. I decided to call ahead since we had 18 ppl coming on a Saturday afternoon to at least give a heads up. They seemed unimpressed with that courtesy. Food was okay and they did their best to bring it all out at the same time which was nice. 18 is a lot to deal with and they did a pretty good job ensuring everyone was taken care of.

Joshua R.

Yelp
Whatever you do do not order the feast for 2 combo. A while back I had ordered the all American bbq, and some extra fries and ranch and it came out to like 112$ with some change. So much food had leftovers. Today, I order the feast for two, some fries, and wings, we got, 2 pieces of chicken, 6 little bbq back ribs, and 4 pieces of brisket, they only gave us 5 wings, it was legitimately the same price as the all American bbq and we barely got any food, this will feed 1 person and a half it's so small. I feel ripped off for the price vs the amount of food. Not a good experience.

Royalty D.

Yelp
I usually go to Famous Dave's 3 times a week but lately this guy name "Famous Tim"has been messing up my orders very bad , it was kinda cold , & when I've called back to ask about it he just say that I should have checked my order. I would rate 0 bad service. But I had to pick one stAr to post this.

Chris B.

Yelp
Well, I used to like this place but now I'm not so sure. Food is just ok, service is spotty, cleanliness is poor. I was in on a Monday so it was not busy at all but I waited over five minutes just to be addressed--guess they sent the hostess home early. After sitting five minutes I was addressed and brought the wrong beverage. A while later the food came--Georgia Chopped Barbeque and St. Louis Spare Ribs (oh, sorry, we are out of baked potatoes. At 7 pm?). The pork was ok but definitely not up to southeastern US standards, and the ribs were so fatty and greasy as to be almost inedible. When I asked for a wet nap (spare ribs?) I was told they don't have them. They used to--what kind of barbecue restaurant doesn't stock wet naps? There was no check back at any time by the server and their indifference towards their guests was palpable. Overall I give Dave's Famous Barbecue a C- and that's really too bad, because as I stated I used to like the place. I think they went wrong when they pitched the "fish camp" themed decor and started pumping in loud pop music. It's like they are trying to be something they are not. Are you listening Dave?
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome food great staff the bbq chicken was the bomb the ribs fell off the bone and the corn muffin was very good .. give them a try
google avatar

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Did I just drive twenty minutes to famous Dave's for absolutely nothing at all? Yes, and here is why: I called in to order as I couldn't select the meats I wanted for the Feast for 2-Sday deal online. After ordering I read the promo once more and knew I would probably have to make a minor adjustment upon picking up my order. I arrive, give my name, and explain to the ladies that I misunderstood the promo. I am to receive two meats, AND a serving of either brisket or chopped pork. I ask," So may I please have the brisket," as I had only asked for the meats that came standard with the promo. The girl on the line- not the register turned to me and said," Your order is already done." To which I asked," What does that mean?" She says," We gave you extra spare ribs instead of the other meats." I ask her," So that means I'm not going to receive the brisket with my order?" She states again," Your order is already done." Without hesitation the girl at the register prompted for me to pay for the order. I simply said," Well, okay. Never mind. Goodbye," and I walked straight out. Who would want to eat there with that kind of customer service?
google avatar

Gwen A.

Yelp
Enjoyed a nice lunch with a friend. I love there prices for lunch during the week. I am part of their rewards program and somehow got $10 off my meal today. Plus I will be going back next week for my free birthday dessert (trying to decide between banana pudding and bread pudding). The staff is always nice and attentive without being intrusive. Burnt ends are the best.
google avatar

Shelly M.

Yelp
I'm a Southern girl who knows her BBQ and I won't return. Our server was helpful and attentive. We liked the catfish fingers appetizer; my husband said it was the best part of the meal. We both had the brisket and it was odd. The rib tips were unappetizing. We had the Georgia chopped pork and enjoyed it. The sweet tea wasn't brewed well. Even our server said, "It's see through today." which made me laugh. She brought me a lemonade. The Wilbur beans were quite sweet as was the corn muffin. We spent $100 on a less than mediocre meal.

Yelp
Happy Texan Good grief, I love the food at Famous Dave's BBQ!! The sauce is boss!! I HIGHLY suggest the ribs. Delicious!!!!! The chicken is wonderful, too. It's all very amazing. Oh, and they have paper towels at the table. You know the food is good when there are paper towels involved!!

Yelp
Tim at the Denver Famous Dave's was great tonight taking care of us. We ordered from Hayward's Hen House not knowing it was through Famous Dave's. I would give Hayward's one star or less because it wasn't good and the option to only have it delivered was a disappointment because it was cold and soggy. We should have just ordered Famous Dave's, their chicken finger platter is better than the Hayward's fried chicken sandwich. Hayward's is not adding value to Famous Dave's.
google avatar

Casey M.

Yelp
Ribs were tasty and the meat came off the bone. Beer was chilly ice cold. Potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Chicken was cooked perfectly and was soft and tender. Coke slaw was very good, not too mayonessy. Corn was perfect. Mac and cheese delish. Beans were filling. The cornbread was a big hit at the table. Everything was delicious! I would go back for sure! Service was great, left a nice tip. Yum!

Yelp
Though I am a Colorado native, I've lived in Texas the better part of 2 decades. BBQ is something that is ubiquitous and done well. One of the things I miss about Texas is its BBQ. Colorado is starting to warm to the idea and we are seeing more and more joints open, but they are inaccessible, not great, or to pricey for what they offer. Famous Dave's surprised me. Granted, I've only been once and I ordered a three meat lunch at that, but I was reminded of what what I left behind in Texas with this meal. They had a variety of sauces, a variety of meats, and a variety of sides. I had the brisket, jalapenos cheese sausage, and chopped beef with a side of coleslaw and cornbread for 12$. Try finding that elsewhere for lunch. The cornbread was moist and sweet, the coleslaw was crispy, creamy and not too sweet or overdressed, and the meats were fantastic. The brisket was moist, the sausage plenty and juicy, and the chopped beef had great texture to it. I even tried some of their smoked chicken - it was deliciously tender and packed full of smokey flavor. I can't wait to be back with a larger appetite and more friends in tow. I'm pretty excited to have another BBQ option in my neighborhood.

Yelp
It's the food. I'll leave it at that. Perhaps because it was lunch time and I ordered off the lunch menu. My food came out fast, too fast. I'm not going back.

Yelp
Got carry out from here two years ago and I remember it being ok but expensive. Those days are gone, this is the worst brisket I have ever had. Tough, stringy and over seasoned. I've already got heartburn from two bites. $14 ? I could have gotten better from subway for half the price.
google avatar

Yelp
I loved famous Dave's but they have consistently declined and removed items that we patronized for. The rebrand also is just not as charming as the former look. Without the rib tips or hot link I see no reason to go anymore.
