Half the price of a gelati at Rita’s and just as good. The ice cream is hand scooped rather than soft serve, but it tastes great all the same. Love the cheese pretzel, too. Can’t beat the low prices.

I grew up on Italian ices (or water ice, as they say in Philly) and I have to say that these are excellent. But it’s more than that, the people who work here are great and seem to be true members of the local community. We could use more places like this and people like them. Oh, and the prices are unreal - $2 gets you a very generous sized ice.

So haven’t been to this water ice stand since I been a kid but been patronizing Rita’s but babyyy I must say famous Italian is the place to get an amazing water ice. Super delicious and super soft. I came on July 4th. But before I came I called to see if they were open and they missed my call and called me back and that step one of them having great customer service. My aunt got the 3 gallon for 30 dollars and I was tempted by their weekly special black cherry water ice. So I got the small one and babbyyyyyy it was delicious. Yummy. I will need to try it as a gelato.

As a staff member of the School District, they are all about the kids. They always look out for schools. I love ordering water ice from these folks whenever we have school events.

The perfect way to cool off on a hot day! Famous Italian Ice is old school water ice. It's been around for decades. It's a corner walk up window that serves water ice, hard ice cream and pretzels. The water ice was really good and not too sugary sweet. The mango cherry was a good mix of flavors. The ice cream looked good especially the banana Carmel walnut. The pretzels were ok. I'm not a fan of super pretzel brand. The prices are very reasonable-only $2 for a regular water ice. It was a big cup! Service was very good. We were waited in right away and got our water ice quickly. The area is a little sketchy and there's no seating.
