Famous Mauro - Pizza(evening) & French Bakery(Morning)

Review for Famous Mauro Bakery, Antigua Famous Mauro Bakery is a great spot for fresh, authentic bread and pastries. I tried the Ham and Cheese Sandwich, and while it was a bit on the pricey side for the portion size, the quality of the bread made it worth it. The bread was clearly homemade—soft, fresh, and had that authentic, slightly crispy crust that you only get from a true bakery. The ham and cheese were simple but well-balanced, with just enough filling to complement the bread without overpowering it. It’s the kind of sandwich that feels like a comforting, homemade meal rather than something mass-produced. The bakery itself has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and you can tell they take pride in their craft. If you're a fan of good bread and appreciate quality over quantity, it's definitely worth a visit. I’d love to come back and try some of their other baked goods!

We went to buy fresh bread. Learned that the Bakery is open from 6AM to 1PM. Then...the pizza operation is open from 6PM to close. They will sell you the bread in the evening, made that day but frozen. It was okay. Better than other offerings on island at grocery stores. But not the baguette I was hoping for when I see the word French. The pizzas looked good with that amazing brick oven, but we didn't have one.

I loveeee it here! I won’t even lie, this place has the best Pizza in Antigua. So authentic and fresh. I am allergic to dairy and they still had pizza options (so happy about that!) .. I do think they need to work on there drinks menu and condiments (can’t be a pizza place and never have Parmesan) . They do also sell fresh baked goods in the morning and WOW! So affordable and yummy!

Not too good. Pizzas are small with thin dash of sauce and minimal toppings. Crust is just average. Nothing local about it, and quality is far below the many fantastic other restaurants around.

Disappointing. Expensive, small portion and almost nothing on the pizza.

Great pizza! Many selections. Roberta makes the best tiramisu EVER!!!? Nice atmosphere. Bummed that it will be closing for the season next Sunday? 6 months without their pizza and breads from their fantastic oven?? !!

Finest pie outside of Naples. Awesome service and exquisitely crafted pizza. This man is an artist- hit it up and tell me I’m wrong.
