Famulari's Pizzeria Azalea Square

We ordered the deluxe Chicago style pizza. It was the first Chicago style ice ever had. It was pretty good. If i was staying in the area, I would try it again with just pepperoni though. The sauce is good, just not a sweet as i prefer. And I've been eating cracker crust pizza for years and it is still my favorite. Overall, a good pizza though.

Hands down the best pizza I’ve ever had! Omg super delicious! Soft, full of flavor. I ordered the create your own Chicago deep dish pie!! Lord it is so so good!! I wish I could’ve some how récord the smell. Delicious! I ordered takeout, the pizza was on time, the employees were very attentive, and everyone seemed to be happily working. I am definitely getting pizza here again!

Made my own with ham, spinach, and ricotta, hubby got the Deluxe, both were loaded with toppings. Will definitely order again. Wish they delivered to the Creek! Couldn't wait to break into them, sorry for the half-eaten pics.

This place is usually great. Tonight not so much. Order of fried green beans for 4 people. Normally more than enough. $10 gets you 15 beans. I hope this is just an off night but for $65 with tip this seems light

Got 4 pizzas and a salad for Pi day, which I knew would be busy, pickup time said about an hour. Got to the restaurant, parking is VERY tight in their parking lot (they share it with 2 other businesses) and went inside. They gave me 3 pizzas instead of 4, I caught the mistake and got my missing pizza. Went home and 2 out of the 4 pizzas were overcooked, the other 2 pizzas were amazing which added even more to the disappointment of missing out. Had to throw away almost all of 1 pizzas and could only eat half of the other pizza as it was impossible to reheat without it becoming leather.

For two years, this has become our spot for our return trip to Rock Hill. Pizza is delicious! I recommended to a friend recently; she stopped in yesterday and was very satisfied with her pie! 🙂. DELICIOUS PIZZA!🫡

I had to say, Nop 🙅🏻‍♀️ tha pizza was to dry same way for the chicken wing, sorry but marcos are better.

Sunday January 21, 2024; 7pm!!! My Deluxe pizza was prepared to sheer perfection! Even better the young man that took my order was so pleasant, warm & welcoming, friendly and polite. The type of experience that will keep you coming back, referring friends and writing a public review. To top things off, the entire crew that worked this day and time were awesome, they created such a great inviting vibe. Kudos to Famulari's and this entire team that worked this day & time. Sorry I didn't get everyone's name to further personalize this accommodation but hopefully by date and time you all will be deservingly recognized.

Will change to four since I missed the sanitation score but still think the place is dated and in need of chef Robert Irvine. Same person that handles my credit card is the one that makes the pizza. wash hands? no. To me that is a turn off Pizza wasn't bad but I couldn't stop thinking about washing hands and to be a de lux should have more of each ingredients but rent must be high. Not sure about going back

Bruh... SUPER slow service.. Did a take out order was told 20mins. Go to counter, sorry we're putting it in now it's an additional 20 mins. I come back now at the 40 minute mark and sorry it's still not ready try another 15mins. Anyone wanna guess what happened at the 55 minute mark? That's right, sorry still not ready. At least she quit giving me false hope with a timeframe.. my kids are hungry and going crazy but maybe after an hour they can make two pizzas.. pic of me staring at the front door for an hour...

Service, Ambience, and the dough is good. They just need a little work with knowledge. This is not a Stromboli. This is a cheese calzone with marinara. The lady that took my order was very polite and had wonderful customer service. When she way relaying my input to the cooks I could hear them say that they are Italian and they Know what a Stromboli is. The rating would of been higher, but with absolutely no willingness to correct my issue I'm rating at 2 stars. I paid to have a side of salami, and the cooks got visibly irritated when I asked them to put it in the oven.

Best pizza we've had in the Summerville area. Staff was very friendly. We'll be back.

This was our first and last time ordering here. We placed an order over the phone and picked it up in person. We ordered an angry Hawaiian and they forgot the meat on it! They even said 'our kitchen messed up'. The right thing to do would be to deliver one made right. The wings were incredibly salty, the pizzas they did manage to make according to the order tasted like the dough wasn't cooked right and was extremely chewy. I have no idea how this place has the rating it does.

Got a take out from this place. The wings are really good. They are a decent size and crispy. I got the garlic butter and which I was hoping it would be really garlicky. It has a subtle garlic which is not bad but overall really good. Cheesesteak is also great (that's what hubby said), perfectly seasoned and not dry. Chocolate cake is fluffy and moist. Next time, I'll eat inside.

This pizza ranks near the bottom with the worst pizza I've ever had! It was DRY with very little sauce and just as little cheese. The crust was thin and worse yet it was over cooked and burned black on the bottom. I think the pizza had been sitting for hours before I came in and ordered my two slices. I couldn't even force myself to eat the second slice, I dumped it in the trash outside. If i could rate it negative one I would.

I'm really not liking the idea of writing this review right now as it is just making me dream about this pizza! I came to the Summerville area last month for an event with my nephew and as I was headed back to Charlotte, I called my husband to say hey, why don't I stop by Famulari's and bring back a deep dish pizza we could reheat and have for dinner that night - since we have NONE...I repeat NO deep dish pizza places in Charlotte. My husband did not hesitate to say yes! We normally order from the West Ashley location as my parents live in that area, but since I was in Summerville, I ordered online from this location for pick up. Love that you can request any of their pizza's in a deep dish pizza style (We get the deluxe) and it is reasonably priced! We also love their spinach bread, so had to get an order of that. By the time I arrived, the pizza and bread were ready. Unfortunately, I did not think about the almost 3 hour drive home and having to smell the deliciousness all along the way. However, it was worth it to have this pizza and bread that evening and the next couple days for leftovers. The Famulari's pizza restaurant group is that great! I highly recommend them and have got my parents hooked on them as well!

Top Three Pizza Joint lifetime. Perfect crust. Quality toppings and just the right amount of sauce. We just moved to town and immediate hit up the #1 spot on Yelp and we weren't disappointed. Small family pizzeria feel with pinball and 90's alt rock on the radio. We also started with wings and salads. Wings were perfectly cooked and the salads were super fresh. I wish I could give more stars.

No indoor seating now. You can order and wait in the car, but I suggest you place your order online then pick up. They do have delivery also. When you arrive, you call and they'll bring the order out when it's ready. Our order included a calzone with game and pineapple, a small pizza with artichokes, chicken, and pesto base, and chicken parmigiana. It's was all delicious, as we've come to expect from Fam's. We recently moved to this side of town so this is our first order from this restaurant. We've typically ordered and dined in at Cane Bay. We do wish the Trolley Rd. site had fries.

Food was good but the restaurant is filthy. Definitely in need of a DEEP clean. Based on this visit (after frequenting & loving the James Island location), we will not be back. There are too many clean restaurants out there to spend time in a dirty one.

This place used to be my go-to for close to 2 years, so know that this review is not based on a single experience. The pizza is really good, but you're treated like an inconvenience, and don't expect them to care if they've messed up your order (happened twice). They make a great pie, but there's a lot of places to get good pizza, and I prefer to give my money to people who care whether or not they get it. It's not easy to get in and out, parking's limited, and while it's on par for a pizzeria, it's not the cleanest joint in the world. For all the negatives, it's just not worth it. I won't promote another business on somebody's review page, but you don't have to go too much further down 17A on the other side of 26 to find two other really good spots. I'll say this, though: they have good taste in music.

I love it. It's an old school pizza joint, with pinball and everything. The dough they make is amazing. Chicago style stuffed is great, buy my wife prefers the calzone. Very much an "I wish my stomach was bigger" situation. Great cheeses and marinara. It's not a table service place, but the counter is fast and the staff is all super nice.

Great pizza. Probably the best pizza place in town that we've tried since moving here.

Used to love their pizza but they either use different ingredients because it's not the same--they pile too much cheese on the pizza. Don't think they exterminate saw roaches--a big turn off.

If you like a heavy duty meat lovers pizza, this is the place for you. It's not cheap, but it's really great.

This place's Chicago style pizza was better than the Chicago style pizza we had in Chicago. I should have gotten a photo of the pizza but I was too busy eating it fast and making inappropriate pizza eating noises. Highly recommend. Edit: it's the deep dish pizza I'm talking about :)

Office received pizza from a customer that came from Famulari's. It was Chicago style and it was delicious. So much so that I decided to try ordering again. The first time it was picked up and the experience wasn't that great. This time I ordered online and ask that they not prepare the pizza where the crust is burnt. Ingredients was fresh and even though I steer away from thin crust this was absolutely devine.

Famulari's Pizzeria: Azalea Square on Old Light Road in Summerville is one of my favorite Famulari's locations in the area and a good place to get quality pizza. They make the ordering process very easy even with larger orders and the staff here is very friendly and accommodating. I have been happy with all of the orders that I have made from here.

I could be skewed because we recently moved from Hawaii, where they have CRAP pizza. However, we were very impressed with Famulari's from the initial order to delivery. Don't use Uber Eats as the app is completely screwed up and will end up with you paying 50% more than ordering from their page or phone alone. Annoying. The pizza and wings were perfect and hit the spot.

If you want "Chicago style" pizza anywhere near Charleston, go here. No, it is not as good as Lou Malnati's or Giordano's but for local pizza, very very good. Thick crust, lots of sauce and cheese. Try the Chi-Town classic. Fanta

Crust could've been crispier, but it was a solid Margherita pie for a takeout place/chain. I'd go back.

Always a solid choice with friendly staff and quick service. Prices are reasonable and no complaints.

Wow. Wheres the zero stars when need em When you go into a place and end up feeling like they really don't want your business The cashier didn't look up from her computer to even speak to my wife. Then girl yells out from back about how long needs for delivery and pick up time AND then looks up and proceeds to complain out loud why are there so many people inside for dining! Ummm hmm maybe your a restraint and we are hungry?!? Guessing the owner would be really happy to know how his employees are pushing away his profits Cross this one off the list forever

We heard good things about Famulari's cheese bread so we went to give it a try. We ordered a salad, as well. After we paid they announced they didn't have all the ingredients for the salad. No problem, that happens. We understood, so we politely said we would just skip the salad and we would stick with just the breadsticks. The man making our cheese bread came out from the kitchen to speak to us and acted like a complete jerk about it. He was so shocked that we wanted to pass on the salad, like we were putting him out in some major way. He even said, "I don't think the server heard you right. You want to cancel the salad?" It was weird how dramatic the whole thing was. He didn't apologize for the inconvenience or anything, just acted like we were super annoying and like he was really put out. The cheese bread was good, not the best I've had, but I enjoyed it enough and would have come back to try other menu items but unfortunately will not because it is not a place that made us feel very welcome.

Scrumptious! Have one of everything. No disappointment here. No leftovers. Stuffed along with stuffed pizza.

Big Disappointment. Famularis used to be one of the best pizza places in town. I understand the price increases because of the pandemic. However, don't skimp on quality, which they certainly have. Unreasonable upcharges and a reduction in the amount of sauce.

We've always been big fans of Famulari's, which has always been on the expensive side but worth it. Recently, their standards have been slipping. For a first, the food on the most recent delivery was frankly rubbish. I'm willing to forgive that as an outlier, but hire some more drivers, for crying out loud! TWO PLUS hours for pizza delivery is beyond parody, and you've been missing that target for months now. We may be willing to try Famulari's a time or two more out of loyalty, but if things haven't improved, we'll sadly be ordering from elsewhere.

Fams pizza never disappoints.....I've never had a bad meal at any of the restaurants.....friendly staff...good pizza cooked while you wait.....the wings are awesome too.....great value for the price....two slices and a drink are the way to go for lunch......we always have to get a box the slices are so huge.....good job Fams.

AMAZING! We were visiting Summerville and called in for pick up. We got the white pizza (without tomato's), a cheese pizza, house salad with vinaigrette and cannolis. Everything was good and fresh. We are picky about white pizza and this one was the perfect ratio of cheese and garlic. The house salad was very fresh and the vinaigrette dressing paired perfectly. Holy cannoli they were so fresh.

I placed an online order for a bbq chicken pizza (10"). When I picked up my order and opened the box my pizza was overcooked. The flavor was okay but for the price($13 + tip) and wait (40 mins) I didn't think it was worth it.

My husband and I have been coming to Famulari's for years now and we absolutely love them! This is the best place in the Charleston area to get pizza or a calzone. I've had their cheesy bread sticks which come as a circle with a ton of mozzarella. And they can be ordered as a meal by themselves. But you have to try their pizza! They make the best pizza! And you can choose just about anything for your toppings, they have everything from meatballs, to artichokes, to feta and blue cheese. The crust is thin and crispy and seasoned just right! And they NEVER skimp on the cheese. My hands down favorite thing to order here is their calzone. They have the best calzone I've EVER had. They fill it with so much ricotta and mozzarella cheese it's hard to believe they can afford to sell it for only $7.79! I usually get a few extra toppings, like pepperoni and feta, but its great just with the cheese. This is a calzone that can feed two and is definitely worth the price! A must have for sure! Famulari's usually has some cool coupons you can get online and they even have a frequent customer card! Once you fill it up you get a free one topping 18 inch pizza, a $16 value! If you want the best pizza in the greater Charleston area check out Famulari's, you will not be dissapointed.

First time customers. We decided to order a large thin crust pepperoni pizza with extra cheese for delivery. The customer service experience on the phone was outstanding. The customer service experience for the delivery was less than desirable. We were told one hour for the delivery, which was not that great, but we agree since it was an early evening on Saturday and figured it was busy anyway. About one hour and 20 minutes later, I called to cancel my already "paid" order. I was told the pizza was on the way already, so I accepted the food. The young driver was nice. We told him that we called the restaurant since the order was placed about 90 minutes ago. He was nice and respectful, stating he was stuck longer than expected delivering to a hospital. We accepted his explanation, although at the end of the day, it was unacceptable customer service. The pizza was delicious, although it arrived cold. We warmed it up, which kind of defeated the purpose of ordering a delivery. We might give them another shot at redemption.

It's was super good! We had it delivered and I did discover I'm a New York pizza type girl I liked the Chicago deep dish but the New York was better to me!

The pizza is ok, but not bad. The best thing we had was their spinach cheese bread app. Otherwise, not bad.

Ordered 2 philly subs. So disappointed! It was so tough and extremely salty. Felt like I was gnawing on a extra well done sirloin. Surprised they put out a product like this. I was excited that someone delivered to us... but then I only ate two bites of mine and threw it away. Waste of $30. Driver was friendly and delivery took about an hour (which is typical for this area).

Alleluia real pizza and pasta! Being from NY this is by far the closest I've come to a NY slice. Lived in the Charlotte area and every place I tried there was sewage! Since moving to the low country I'm so happy to have a pizza place that is as close to home as I can come. Yayyy!!!!

The pizza is good. Good crust, Great sauce. Go there ... I'm fussy about my pizza and it made me want to go back so, if you're hungry for pizza, go there. Would have been five stars if they had been just a touch more generous with the mushrooms

Best delivery pizza I've had in SC. Closest thing you will get to NYC pizza. The delivery is fast and friendly. Will continue to order here. Keep up the good job!

Excellent pizza, pastas and calzones on every order and at the right price. Really like the pizza dough flavor, always generous portions of toppings on orders. The owner has pride in his establishment and it shows and tastes so good in the end result.
