Google
Fancy Free is my liquor store of choice! They have a great variety - there's standard brands you've heard of before but also some smaller or local liquor or wine makers! The vibes are also immaculate and the customer service is 10/10 - they are totally content to let you do your thing but also extremely knowledgeable if you want some help or advice! My favorite thing about Fancy Free is they have a really good canned cocktail selection (not just cutwater & high noon!) of genuinely great cocktails, plus their own ready-made cocktail mixers. Truly one of my favorite local businesses!

Google
I love the cocktail mixes from Fancy Free so much. One bottle makes a dozen cocktails and the results are so delicious. Perfect for entertaining but also nice for treating yourself. The fresh juices put these way above other kinds of mixes. Try the Pina Colada!

Google
Adorable store, great selection, and knowledgable staff. I wanted to make an old-fashioned, but was clueless. I left with everything I needed (I love how they have small portions of garnishes!) and a perfect recipe written out. Our go-to liquor store!

Monaca B.

Google
Best liquor store. Hands down. Every employee seems to know everything about every bottle. (And they have an incredible selection of liquor, wine and beer.) I truly don’t know how it’s possible. They have all the staples but also fun options that you don’t see anywhere else. These are exactly the small businesses we should all be patronizing. Pop in. You’ll see what I mean.

Google
Fancy Free Liquor is a beautiful storefront with an expertly curated selection of liquor and all the extras you can't find elsewhere, including garnishes and my absolute favorite offering - the mixers. It's challenging to choose one from the list because they all sound enticing and work perfectly with more than one kind of alcohol. They're mixtures of fresh juices (and some with herbs like mint) and come frozen with simple directions for use. I have tried 5 different ones and have been thrilled with each one. If you're having a party or gathering, do yourself a favor and pick up some mixers and the alcohol and garnishes to go with them (and don't forget the fancy pebble and big cube ice too!). It will take all the work off your shoulders and make cocktails that will get rave reviews. At my holiday party last month, it was a lifesaver to premix some cocktails while I had so much else to worry about. The owner and staff are also really great about helping you pick something out if you have questions.

Google
This is not your standard liquor store…it is WAY better!! The cabinet of bitters alone is worth the trip! They have everything you need to make your own cocktails at home, plus beer, wine, sake, in all price ranges. Oh! Don’t forget the ice, all the fancy ice you need too!

Google
Love Fancy Free. Their cocktail mixes are amazing. Makes hosting so much easier. Also got some great wines for Thanksgiving. Everyone in the store is super helpful.

Google
Fancy free is my go to in Burbank. Such a lovely collection of wine, beer and spirits, all price ranges. Super friendly and lovely staff - happy to support them!

Yelp
Wow. What a great experience. Went in to pick a nice bottle of whiskey up for a friend and needed some advice on a higher end whiskey. Zahne (sp?) was a great help. He walked me through the different tasting notes in my price range and I feel like I came out with a great whiskey. The shop has an amazing selection, you'll find whatever you are looking for here!

Yelp
Cozy chic boutique style beer/cocktail/craft beverage/wine shop with possibly the nicest humans (Dan the awesome owner, Tyler and Zane who have been in on my trips here - all super helpful) in beverage retail serving you quality service from 12PM until 8PM (holiday hours vary) daily! On the corner the literal corner of Lamar St & Burbank Blvd... A few doors down from The Burbank Pub this fine establishment displays both room temp and refrigerated cans not to mention bottles from LA local, domestic plus imported drinks of all sorts. You can purchase for the day, week and even in cocktail kit form... It's all about the way you like or if you prefer the Dealer's Choice... you can have bottles/recommends selected for you in their wine selection. They host events and tastings once in a while, which is a huge highlight also. The Purity Wine release party back in March was said to be epic! I missed out due to being out of town back then. Keeping an eye out for anything coming up soon (Instagram is where you might find most updates). Tastings usually happen toward the end of their store hours, 6- 8p. Fancy Free offers local shipping, California shipping and of course pick up when using their amazing easy to navigate website. Add some of their great merch, mixers, glassware or a gift card to your order as well online as well as in-store... Gift wrapping is available. Usually leave the store with two to three bottles of something new, often local brewery and winery favs when in the area. I'm sure you will too ;)

Yelp
Great place! Was killing time while waiting for Thai food I'd ordered down the street, drove by, and made a U-turn. Got a terrific bottle of exactly what I asked for, thanks to the educated and helpful guy at the front counter. Will definitely return.

Yelp
Fancy Free! There simple dialed in menu at the bar makes selections easy and clean. Love the aesthetics of the place, it definitely carried in to our mixed drinks. We went with the Pink Flamingo paired with El Tequileno. Great service, great drinks. It's a once stop shop for quality drinks. The block ice and the garnish were the final touches on the drink. It's a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for. I think the end user experience is worth it. I'm no mixologist but I felt like one when making it. I would definitely come back again to try another combo package. They also have a nice selection of craft drinks in the refrigerator.

Yelp
Super Duper cool shop here! Wow. The selection is incredible. The vibe is top notch. What a wonderful local gem. You can feel the community love and hospitality before you even walk in. The folks here are super cool and warm. Not to mention quite fashionable. The owners are wonderful, and we couldn't be more happy for them on their continued success with such a cool shop. Again, Vibe on POINT! Incredibly kind and helpful folks. We just spent the day with them on their 4 yr anniversary and had the absolute best time working with them. Can't wait to come back for the next hang!

Yelp
Huge 5 stars to this place. I was in the area doing some Christmas shopping and had it in mind to get my sister a cocktail kit, something I'd been impressed by but never purchased. A quick Yelp search turned up Fancy Free Liquor only minutes away. From the curb, Fancy Free looks unremarkable, like any one of countless liquor stores in the LA area. Take one step inside and the clean, bright interior with meticulously-ordered shelves makes it immediately clear that Fancy Free is in a whole different category. The service was incredible. I was greeted promptly by a friendly employee. He took me to the front counter and showed me their two cocktail-kit menus - one seasonal, the other their permanent menu in a rich leather portfolio. There was another employee behind the counter who literally could not have been more helpful. Despite the world outside being crazy with the pre-holiday rush, he was the definition of mellow and took his time helping me choose the perfect cocktail kit. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined giving a five-star review to a liquor store, but Fancy Free is in a different league from the rest. This may just be my new go-to bottle shop.

Steph C.

Yelp
Super helpful and friendly. The gentleman who helped me was clearly very knowledgeable about the spirits. I appreciated that not only did he ask about whether I had a budget, he didn't just try to upsell me at the top end of my range. He actually listened to what I was looking for and gave me great options both at and below my budget. They have a nice selection without being overwhelming, and the fresh juice cocktail mixes were delicious. Will become my go-to source from now on.

Yelp
Move over Bevmo and Costco because Fancy Free Liquor is here (in Burbank) and they are the best place to buy alcohol in bulk from! We go to the store all the time just to pick up a new bottle of liquor to try out from time to time because their selection is MASSIVE and everyone there is SUPER helpful if you have any questions! Also, the store is just super cute and well laid out in general! While planning our wedding, we choose their affiliate "The Whaling Club" to be our bar service (who we cannot recommend enough)! In doing that, they put us in contact with Dan at "Fancy Free Liquor" as an option for where we could buy our alcohol from! This was the best decision we ever made because they helped us figure out how much alcohol we would need for our guests, gave us a wide selection to choose from to make sure we could stay within our budget, and offered a great deal where if there were any bottles that weren't used (and not damaged), they would take them back and not charge you for them! Together, "The Whaling Club" and "Fancy Free Liquor" were the best team we could ever ask for and they made our wedding day one we will never forget!

Yelp
How many times have you thought, "Man, I wish I could just have this alcohol delivered to my door," but are met with either A) you are outside of the delivery range, or B) no stores near you that deliver alcohol at all, so you are either A) forced to drive to get your poison or B) so bummed that you have no motivation to get any drinks at all so you just watch more episodes of the Office? Okay, maybe it's just me. But to be fair, I live in an area of LA where you have to drive to get to literally ANYTHING you want, so delivery is definitely a luxury that I rhetorically thank the powers that be for every November. When I saw that Fancy Free Liquor (FFL) was offering just $5 delivery for anywhere in LA, I was hooked (thanks to our CM, Megan, for the ad)! I hopped on their website and saw they are offering cocktail kits, spirits, beer, and all types of wine, all of which can be delivered. I also saw that delivery is free for orders of $50 or more, so of course I immediately loaded up my cart with $56 worth of items. You can either choose to pick up at the store or have it delivered the next day (though they are closed on Mondays). I'm regularly on the lookout for wine shops that sell natural wine, so I was super excited to see that a lot of their wine options that can be ordered online (and probably bought in store) are natural. For $56 I got a natural cider, a natural cava, a natural rose, a natural wine spritzer, and a bag of chips with three sample size dips (guacamole, tomatillo salsa, and Pico de Gallo). For orders of $50 or more you can also add (5 pairs of) latex gloves to your order for free, which I took advantage of because I can't find any in stores. I ordered around 8:30 last night and got it delivered today around 2pm. The delivery guy was masked and friendly, and he stepped back after setting the bags down on our door mat. Although I wasn't planning to drink the wine right away, everything was still sorta cold so I could have if I wanted to! I decided to open the wine spritzer to have with the chips and dip. I'm halfway through the chips, dip, and spritzer as I write this review, so I felt it was time to give my feedback... The spritzer is great and met my expectations. The first 1/4 of the chips tasted fresh and well-made, but the second 1/4 were (and I fear the rest may be) stale. Could be a bad day or because of the pandemic, but based on this I would buy my own chips in the future. I also thought both the tomatillo salsa and the guac were too sour, but at least I will finish the guac. The tomatillo salsa didn't have a good flavor in addition to being too sour, so if my housemates don't want it I will probably end up throwing it away. I have to give a shout out to their Pico de Gallo, though, which is BOMB! It's actually the best Pico de Gallo I think I've ever had, but honestly I don't go out searching for the best Pico de Gallo so maybe I don't know what I'm talking about. I definitely haven't seen orange peppers used in other pico de Gallo I've had, and it adds a nice flavor. I will 100% order from FFL again, probably as soon as I go through the wines I already ordered...so...maybe next week.

Yelp
Fancy Free is a liquor store on a lovely, shady stretch of Burbank Blvd. They are known for their local delivery but this is the actual store. It's incredible. Inside is sleek and sophisticated and bottles are beautifully laid out. They have an ultra curated selection of bottles and even barware. There is stuff here you just can't find at other spots in LA. Their rum selection is particularly amazing. And they have a HUGE selection of pet nat wines. Prices are a 3-10 dollars higher on average than a discounted spot but they are fair. Coming here is an amazing experience. Go support this place!

Yelp
God bless Fancy Free. I received the Yuzu Penicillin Kit with Suntory as an Xmas gift and it's OUTSTANDING! I'd been craving a true craft cocktail and this was it. I actually froze half the mixer as it's just me and have been defrosting it weekly for my weekend cocktails. Just as delicious as it was fresh. (Quick tip -- add a Lagavulin floater. Holy smokin' delicious.) The only hiccup was that my ice was slightly melted when it got here so when I refroze it, some of the blocks stuck together and I couldn't get them apart again without smashing them to pieces. Nonetheless, I loved this kit so much I sent the same one to some cocktail-loving friends who enjoyed it just as much. In other words, these kits makes fantastic gifts. Thank you for existing Fancy Free! Can't wait to try your other cocktails!

Yelp
Ain't your daddy's liquor store. Well, I don't know that for sure since I never actually went inside my dad's preferred liquor store, where he would occasionally stop for a single tallboy on a Saturday afternoon while I waited in the car. All I know is that Fancy Free looks more inviting from the outside. I didn't actually step inside FFL either, because they are seamless and make curbside pickup a breeze. I placed an online order in the morning for some things that needed restocking, and a few new items to add to my bar. Many of us currently have extra time on our hands, and for those of us who miss our bars and bartenders of the Before Times, why not try replicating the Negronis, mai tais, and Manhattans at home (or, barring that, just making an old fashioned for the millionth time)? FFL's selection is a bit more boutique than you'll find at your average emporium, which really means that they carry the good stuff and you can look elsewhere for the rest. They also sell pre-mixed cocktail kits where you assemble the drink at home - fun! It's same-day pickup with online orders. They also offer delivery, though as of this review that offering is temporarily suspended due to COVID. Contactless pickup couldn't be any easier- you park on the street, call with your order number, pop your trunk, and they'll run it right out to you. Then with a friendly wave you're off, back home to enjoy the bounty. I accidentally drove past the store at first, so if it helps anyone- it's a corner storefront, Burbank and Lamer. Northwest corner.

Yelp
We've tried a few of the drink kits and they've ALL been amazing!! Such a little gem here in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I almost didn't want to rate this place, so I can keep it my own little secret. Absolutely love this gem of a liquor store. They have a fantastic selections of fine liqueurs, heavy liquor, wines, bitters, and even garnishes. This is a toy store for people with a finer drinking palate. Ambiance is great, low key, small and hipster (if that's still a word hah). The guys that work here are knowledgeable and friendly.

Yelp
Opening a new business in LA seems hard, but opening during a pandemic seems a heck of a lot harder. Even still, Fancy Free Liquor is doing the dang thing and bringing us booze in the time of COVID (and for that I am thankful). I haven't physically been in due to social distancing restrictions, but I ordered a bottle of natural wine (Valentina Passalacqua's Sovracchiaro) via their website yesterday and it was easy peasy. The shop is in Burbank and I live in Pasadena, so I opted for the $5 delivery and it arrived the next afternoon. You can also pick up for free, but $5 is honestly a good deal for getting to stay in my jammies most of the day. I received a text when my delivery was here and the drop off was contactless. I do wish there was a way to tip my courier online with a card since most businesses are cutting down on cash (...and let's be real, I'm terrible at keeping it around). In addition to wine, Fancy Free has beer, spirits, cocktails to go, mixers, kits, bar tools, fancy cocktail ice, snacks, hand sanitizer, and merch. I have my eye on a tiki mug, a few bottles of wine, and the negroni kit for next time. Will have to stop in to check out the shop when that's a thing, but for now I'm super pleased with my delivery experience!

Yelp
We had a really wonderful experience with Fancy Free Liquor. Met with Dan and Natasha and they both were super friendly and helpful. We were looking for a good red to celebrate with and ended up coming home with a cab and a Malbec. Great place, fun, and friendly! Lucky to have a store like this in our community, thanks Dan and Natasha!

Yelp
Talk about amazing! The drinks are spectacular and the customer service is unbeatable. I ordered drinks for a small party (socially distant of course!) and wouldn't you know I accidentally order for "pick up". Thankfully when they called to confirm my they alerted me to my mistake. They even allowed me to come by for a late pick up! Five star drinks and customer service above and beyond.

Yelp
I found Fancy Free liquor completely randomly while driving to get groceries one day. My fiancé and I had been wanting to try natural wine and decided to stop in. Everyone who works there is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and warm. The suggestions have all been wonderful and we've been having such a fun time expanding our wine palette. Plus it's so nice having a liquor store like this in the valley instead of having to go to another neighborhood for this kind of selection. I can't recommend Fancy Free enough!
google avatar

Susannah B.

Yelp
This is a liquor store for people who hate liquor stores. Carefully curated selection so you can buy almost anything off the menu and you know it will be great. Their cocktail kits are AMAZING. Look at this beautiful margarita, complete with a big-ass ice cube like I'm in a cool bar in Silverlake and not my suburban home in Burbank after my kid's asleep! Can you even? Have you ever? I'm only one delivery in, but I'm a customer for life!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is awesome. What a fun concept. Just got a gift sent to us of a great tequila, awesome big square ice cubes and the pink flamingo mix. We enjoyed real cocktails outside tonight and felt like we were at a hip restaurant. Can't wait to send this as a gift to a friend and try more things. Awesome addition to Burbank!

Andrew D.

Yelp
One of the best small liquor stores around. Always something different. Amazing staff. Drink mixes are hands down the best
google avatar

Yelp
What a wonderfully curated store! We were also given expert recommendations for beers we've never seen before. The store is well organized, neat, and like going to a candy shop for kids. So glad to have a store that is this cool in Burbank! We will be back.

Yelp
For everything you need, contact Fancy Free. This liquor store is rapidly emerging as the best liquor store in Los Angeles County. Need specialty liquor, they have it. Need the best mixology ingredients for your cocktails, they have them. Need the best cocktail ice, Penny Pound Ice, they carry it. Want new, local and independent brands, they have them. Ask any question, and they answer it. Something goes wrong, they quickly fix it. And they have cocktail kits. Everything you need in in expertly curated kits. During Covid 19, they have curbside pickup and socially distant deliveries. (Just wave from your window or porch.) Easy ordering on their website or give them a call or email. They even have great hand sanitizer. This is a great independent local business. Support them. You won't regret it.

Yelp
Want to try something fun? Need a great gift idea? Try the cocktail kits from Fancy Free Liquor. I needed a fun and different birthday gift idea for someone and I searched for cocktail delivery in Burbank and Fancy Free liquor came up. They have lots of options and include all the fixins', even ice. The best part was the fast, friendly service from Dan. They are undergoing renovations right now and even with the challenging pandemic environment, Dan was still responsive and helpful and my gifts were delivered right on time. The recipients were super excited!!! Love shopping local so give Dan and Fancy Free Liquor a try!!

Yelp
Sent a COVID birthday present to a friend. It's a great idea for a gift and my friend raved about the the drink. Fancy Free Liquor was able to deliver within my timeframe. They were very helpful and friendly.

Yelp
Well curated selection of liquor. Highly recommend the cocktail kits. Knowledgeable staff. Definitely consider getting some of their ice, they have multiple choices (pellets, cubes, rocks) and it's a game changer

Yelp
I just used Fancy Free Liquor for the first time for a delivery. They hand wrote the card, and made it extra special, and provided free delivery. I'm so impressed. Also, the recipient said it was the best margarita she's ever had. I'll be using them from now on for thank you's, condolences and client gifts. 5 stars.

Yelp
Just a heads up not sure if it's racial profiling, as my husband is Hispanic or what the situation is there, but my husband went in to buy a nice bottle of tequila and one of their juice options for our Father's Day get together. And when it was time to pay they asked for his ID for the credit card for purchase, which I totally think businesses should do more often as there is a lot of identity theft. But the problem was that the guy who rang him up also took a picture of my husband's ID and CC on his personal phone. When my husband asked why he did that, the guy said because we bought such an expensive bottle it's company policy, he needed to keep his info on his phone. OK that right there is how people steal your identity. When my husband asked him to delete it off his phone, he called the owner and then instead took a pic with the "company IPAD". We asked our neighbor if they've ever gone through this, as they recommended this place, and they said no. It's totally bizarre and would definitely never come back, which is a shame as I like to support small businesses but not when they have shadey policies like that. It should have been enough to see his ID and bank card, no need to take a picture, too. I'm pretty sure this is most likely illegal for an employee to take a picture of you CC and ID on his personal phone or iPad. We will definitely be reporting this to the better business Bureau. Sadly, this whole thing put a stressful vibe on our Father's Day celebration.

Maggie C.

Yelp
Stopped in today off the street and was so impressed by what I found! Amazing selection and knowledge about the inventory. Was able to pickup two new wines I had never heard of that sound delicious. Great addition to the neighborhood. Will be back!
