We had the most wonderful experience here. Best food on the island by far. Amber was our bartender and was so great. She made fantastic suggestions! We got oysters (they were from PEI and not the gulf) and they were so good! We also got the rack of lamb which was probably the best meal we have ever had. Everything was cooked so perfectly. I got the seafood pasta which was also great, but we both liked the lamb better! We had such a great time, we came back a second time and got the filet and short rib pappardelle. Both again were phenomenal. Definitely make a stop here to get some good food while visiting. We will most definitely we back!

Not to mention they made things wonderful for my special day and our amazing waiter even took a picture of us outside after dinner! We will be back so great!!!

Our server was great although he had another customer with a long list of allergies that delayed service with us. We ended up ordering the tomatoes & burrata salad and artichoke & mushroom salad. Both were much bigger and more filling than we expected. Very tasty, great flavors, very fresh ingredients. My wife and I ordered the Salted Red Snapper (medium sized ~2.5 lb whole fish) because we’d never tried something like that before and we wanted to eat seafood. It’s cooked in a shell of salt, Parmesan, and other spices. Broken out and filleted tableside, the fish was served with a blood orange sauce which was our favorite part. Our son liked the fish without the sauce.

We went as a family group, including my grandson celebrating his first birthday. We made early reservations, and they went above and beyond accommodated our every need . The food was as best as we've had with a salt crusted bronzino done tableside. Every dish and every cocktail made to perfection. I'd like to make one note this is a fine dining establishment. we went there with a toddler, hence the early reservation. We also had a game plan on what to do in case he became irritated. We did not want to disturb other diners .

We came here to try the espresso martini. We had the shrimp ceviche which was outstanding. Sheldon was attentive and friendly behind the bar. She also gave us a killer recommendation for when we were going to Corpus Christi Bay which she was right about. We definitely will come back for dinner next time that we are at SPI. The espresso martini was not my favorite but it was good.

Wow! F&B was amazing for our date night. The waiter was excellent and had an amazing memory- he could describe each dish and special with precise details. The cocktails were well-thought out and delicious. :) Our meals were amazing and beyond expectations. The cauliflower bisque was so amazing, we took a cup to-go. Mmmm... I highly recommend F&B if you visit South Padre Island. :)

Our server Raymond was very knowledgeable about the menu and extremely attentive. Finally a lil upscale experience amongst the laid back vibes of SPI. It wasn't super high end or pretentious in the way where I felt out of place in my beach clothes. They were very welcoming and we had basically no wait time. The decor is absolutely beautiful. I loved the little touches like the jellyfish chandeliers (that move!), the artwork around the restaurant, and the pretty water cups lol. Even the bathroom is nice and clean. Now for the food! The scotch eggs were perfectly fried and the meat inside was really tasty. The brunch burger was delicious and messy in a good way. The banana pancakes were okay (wish there was more banana) but we still enjoyed it. Will definitely have to come back!

Cute spot and not your usual South Padre vibe. Our server was wonderful and owner popped by, also lovely. Their cocktails are delicious and obviously made with high quality, fresh ingredients. Everything ordered was delicious and we found portions to be very generous. We really wanted to try that soufflé but it sold out, they were very kind about our disappointment and we'll just have to try it next time we're in town.

I don't write a lot of reviews from travel destinations but if something is note worthy, I want to let others know. We travel to South Padre yearly while visiting family in the area. Sometimes, the choices are few (especially for finer dining) and speak to the beach crowd, with numerous fried choices and bar bites. F & B is most definitely note worthy and deserves the five stars I'm giving it. While it is pricey for the Island, it is worth it. They are a scratch kitchen and you can tell that items are locally sourced and expertly prepared. This does mean that they may run out of things (like the catch of the day) but there will be other options and they are all great. While there is unfortunately no view of the bay or ocean side, you will still feel warm and content in the restaurant. It is well appointed with soft, beachy colors, fresh flowers, a nice bar area, and well-spaced, comfortable seating. The service is terrific as well. We loved it so much that we went back the following day. Disappointingly, they were out of the mushroom ravioli but replaced it with lobster ravioli one evening and the most wonderful seafood pappardelle pasta the next evening. We also tried the grouper catch of the day, the beef tartare, the octopus and calamari appetizer, and the key lime pie souffle. Everything was wonderful. F & B is a great place for a date night, celebration, or just good, clean food!

I'd argue F&B is the best fine dining option on the island. Everything from the clean, white decor, thoughtful waitstaff, and delicious offerings make it a top choice when I'm in town. As a landlocked midwesterner, I focused on foods I love eating seafood when I'm near a coast. Starting with the Mixed Seafood Frittata, followed by Seafood Pappardelle, add in some wine while celebrating a work colleague's birthday, and you have one amazing memory! If you're looking for an upscale vibe with unique, tasty food to match, best stop by F&B!

Had a cute dinner date with my partner while we were visiting SPI last month. It was a lovely restaurant with super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Shout out to our waiter Garret and everyone else that has helped us tonight. We came in to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and had so much fun. We honestly had a very bad day with all of our planned events got canceled due to bad weather, a trip to urgent care, and stress from work. Garret and everyone here truly saved the day! The food is amazing! My boyfriend loved the duck but my favorites are the risotto and pumpkin soufflé. They also prepare a panna cotta dish with candle for the birthday celebration. I came here for my birthday with my parents and it's probably the best restaurant I've ever been to. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and time. The cocktails, carrots, and entrees were some of the best I've ever had in my life. The jerk chicken with collard greens was the best meal I've ever had: extremely juicy with the perfect balance of different flavors within the sauce. Shoutout to our waiter John, who was extremely attentive - and also able to provide detailed descriptions of the entire menu, and thus fantastic recommendations. The atmosphere was also the perfect amount of fancy, where it was special but also not pretentious; a genuine authenticity. Thank you for the perfect birthday meal!

Have been to a few restaurants on South Padre while there for conferences and haven't been "wowed" by any of them, but F&B would be my hands-down #1 choice for a nice dinner out. My colleague and I took a client out to dinner - you don't want to look like you're treating a client poorly, so you want to choose the best place - and I think we did it! Clean, calm, island- chic vibe, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our waiter had an extensive knowledge of the menu and even offered recommendations based on our preferences. Menu has good variety, with a fresh catch of the day, local seafood, as well as seafood brought in from elsewhere. There was also lamb from New Zealand, Venison, I think from PA, and more. Our guest ordered ceviche, which she said was great, and I ordered the crab cake for a starter, which had good flavor and a beautiful presentation, however, was a little mushy in texture. My colleague ordered the chicken, which she said was wonderfully cooked, and she loved the jerk spices in the sauce that accompanied it. I had the seafood pappardelle, which had wonderful flavors and again beautiful presentation. The noodles were cooked perfectly, but the seafood was a bit overdone and chewy, but not horribly so. I watched a server de-bone the whole red snapper table-side at a table close by, which was impressive! I want to go back just to try it. We were all excited for our shared key line soufflé dessert, which was pretty (in attaching pictures), but I missed the tangy zip I would associate with key lime. My colleague said she thought it was bland as well. I don't want to end on a bad note, so I'll say that although the food missed the mark a little, this meal was still far and away the best meal I have had on the island in my handful of visits for business. The restaurant staff, cleanliness, and ambiance are worth going for, too. I definitely recommend and would go back every time I'm in the area and want to have a beautiful dinner.

Yelp helped me find this gem. The service was excellent-Garrett was super knowledgeable and friendly. We arrived here for our 20th anniversary dinner and it definitely didn't disappoint. From the fresh bread to dessert-I can't find one bad thing to say. The lamb chops cooked as chef recommended medium rare and the meat was juicy and delicious. Catch of the day was halibut and it was poached to perfection! Key lime soufflé is signature dessert and it was phenomenal. Be prepared to spend but so worth it to splurge at least once when you are on the island. Reservations may be a good idea if you plan on going after 5. But we walked in at 5 and were able to be seated quickly. If I could give more stars I would! We will be back next time!

Dinner was perfection tonight as usual. Mushroom soup (hubby said it looked like wet concrete but he loved the little taste I shared) was divine. If not for manners, I would have wiped the bowl with my finger and licked my finger! Soft shell crab was on point and the seafood pappardelle had plenty of seafood in a delicious sauce. Wish they still had the bread basket with a variety of breads. That was my favorite way to start dinner. F&B never disappoints and the service was impeccable. See you again soon!!

BY FAR. THE BEST. UPSCALE RESTAURANT ON THE ENTIRE ISLAND!!!! Let me repeat - F&B is the place to be for the best, upscale, cuisine. It was just my boyfriend & I for a date night. To start, the interior was just gorgeous. We were served with complimentary fresh, hot bread with homemade gremolata. Seriously ridiculous... if I weren't careful, I could've drank the gremolata lol! It was just delicious. *(10/10 complimentary Bread & Gremolata) We started off with TWO appetizers (Beef Tartare and Spanish Octopus & Calamari).. we just couldn't resist. Both were excellent, but let me tell you... I could've had the Steak Tartare (maybe even 2 orders) for my meal and had been completely satisfied. That was the most exceptional Beef Tartare I've ever had in my life, and we are HUGE widely experienced foodies & chefs. Just wow. The Spanish Octopus & Calamari were also great - cooked to perfection and super fresh! *(10/10 Spanish Octopus & Calamari) *(20/10 Beef Tartare haha!) For our meals, he ordered the Smoked Duck Breast. I'm telling y'all... the plating is pure art. It makes a true chef so happy to see plating like that. They put a lot into it and it honestly tasted just as great as it looked. PHENOMENAL!!!! From the crispy duck skin, perfectly seasoned oyster mushrooms, and the sweet contrast from the curry carrot purée will knock your sandals OFF. I ordered the Seafood Risotto - amazing just like everything else we had ordered so far!!! It had an amazing seafood broth flavor to it and the scallops were exceptional, along with the shrimp, clams, & crab meat. The picture doesn't do it justice like the Duck Breast, but still outstanding food. We would order BOTH of these items again, for sure!!! *(10/10 Smoked Duck Breast) *(10/10 Seafood Risotto) As foodies, we cannot end a true date night meal without dessert... Of course, we chose their Key Lime Soufflé. Did I stutter? GET IT. The crispy top, hot eggy center with key lime zest running throughout, topped with this scrumptious coconut & rum anglaise... seriously cannot get any better. *(10/10 Key Lime Soufflé) No exaggeration. This was one of the best restaurants I've been to in a very long time. We live 10 hours away and are here for a little vacation... I can say, we will be back to South Padre Island just to come to F&B. Cheers!

This was our favorite vacation meal in South Padre. Our favorite dish was the octupus starter, but everything else was delicious as well. Drinks were spot on and Garrett was very attentive. Do yourself a favor and get their soufflé... they had lime the day we went and it was oh so good!

Went here on last minute plans when we were visiting SPI. We had an appetizer and two entrees. They were all good. Service was good. We had a reservation and were sat on time. Restaurant was busy and they managed well with what staff they had. Looks like they had private seating available to accommodate larger parties. Menu had a good selection of items for all palates. Saw the rack of lamb pass by and would have loved to try. It looked delicious and cooked perfectly. Food reasonably priced for the quality.

OMG- what a shame. The food was fabulous but the management is terrible. We waited for 10 minutes after our reservation time for them to 'set' the table. The acoustics are horrible in this restaurant. With some effort this could be corrected, but currently it is so loud that it was unpleasant. Add to that there was a large table with 5 very young children that were yelling and running around their table. I understand this is a difficult situation, but management should have tried to address this. The food was so good but the loudness and slow service caused my husband to refuse to return.

Being Italian I'm very picky about good food, but I can honestly say this is the best restaurant on the island! Everything was excellent- the food, the service, the decor. We had the Mahi ceviche, the jerk chicken, the burger, the potatoes and the key lime soufflé. Everything tasted superb, you can tell the staff is passionate about good food. They were also very welcoming and accommodating to our dietary needs. To top it off, they're pet friendly (patio only). Will definitely return

Everything was flawless. Started with a poached pear and duck confit salad . The fig jam at the bottom was the most perfect compliment to the duck. Excellent. Then had the cream and leek soup. When it arrived I detected truffles. The waitress didn't think it had them but after speaking with chef, it indeed had a touch of white truffle oil. But not too much. It was fantastic. For my entree I had the roasted chicken. Best roasted chicken I've had in a year or two. Absolute top notch. The skin was broiled perfectly and was very crispy. The meat was tender and juicy. The fresh veggies and butter sauce were the perfect compliment. The waitress was friendly and went out of her way to listen and connect to me and the other guests at the bar. It became very friendly. I had a blast. Met several people from Texas and Lousisana with whom I met the following morning for breakfast. SPI doesn't have a lot of good food to be totally real about it. This place would be great anywhere. Downtown New York, la, Seattle, anyplace. This is a great restaurant. Great service. Great food. Great vibe. Six stars.

We had the salt encrusted snapper, halibut, seafood risotto, duck, lamb, soup, and most of the appetizers. Souffle and Panna cotta are also a must!

I was truly excited to visit F&B, as it's been on my "gotta go" list for a couple of years. They were able to accommodate my family on a busy night at a high table in the bar. I was disappointed with the cocktails. My traditional old fashioned was was not balanced just tasted like whisky and water and along with that they did the cardinal sin of establishment that wants to charge you $15 for a drink adding the standard well ice in my drink. My wife tried one of their signature cocktails, it's what they designed in house and should be a good drink...it was again heavy alcohol. We tried their seafood fritura and again were disappointed with a lack of flavor in the breading. It worked with the calamari but the extremely light batter and seasoning was overpowered by the gulf shrimp and red snapper. First entree that came out was the kid cheese burger, kid requested well done, came back medium well. She noticed but didn't complain, she enjoyed it. The French fries are house made and sprinkled with sea salt..they are damn good. Perfectly crisp and fluffy. I wish they would have extended the scratch kitchen theme to the ketchup too, but over an A on the burger and fries. I was interested in the red fish, the spots signAture dish (based on price $68)... however they were out, I ended up getting the turf a 12 oz NY strip. This was a damn good piece of Elsie, cooked perfectly and with great seasoning. It was served with a descent sauce and baby potatoes and young asparagus. The wife went with a seafood pappardelle she was happy with. We ended the night with a key lime soufflé. I want to give a great shot out to the pastry chef for allowing us to take this to go. Most establishments would say "no" to this request. Although fallen and looking not the greatest (as expected) this was nothing short of delicious and I recommend all that sit down order one for yourself, eff sharing. If this was slightly less expensive I'd be happy to extend a four star rating but at the current price point of around $100/person for dinner I gotta drop em down.

I don't give 5 stars to any place or else it would mean it's perfect and nothing is perfect. But this place is damn close. Everything is exquisite. Interior is so well decorated. Lavish. Service is absolutely top tier. The food that I got was the seafood risotto, krispy rice sushi, steak tartar and the burger. All 4 were simply divine. So glad the island is starting to build and embrace fine dining. The island is lucky to have this place. I felt like I was in LA.

We went for our Anniversary dinner and had a great experience. Food was great, service was great, atmosphere was good. It's drift idly elevated food, but you don't feel like you're at a stuffy place, it's still felt comfortable and relaxing. Will definitely be back.

While vacationing in South Padre, we walked past F&B several times. As we looked for a new place for dinner, we decided to give it a try. The online reservation was easy and we were greeted by the hostess and what turned out to be our waiter, Brandon, when we arrived. We were promptly seated and served. Brandon was attentive but not too much so. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and wine from their nice wine list. The meal presentation was a bit unusual. My wife ordered what we thought would be a 1/2 roasted chicken and when it came out it looked like, well a chicken roll. It was chicken breast meat wrapped around dark meat. It was absolutely delicious and a lot easier to manage then the roasted chicken. F&B will be at the top of our list when we return to SPI later this year.

My girlfriend and I went to south padre for a lil romantic getaway- obviously I did not talk to someone who had actually been to south padre. Safe to say we're never going back. The only two good things about South Padre are this restaurant and the turtle rehabilitation center. If you have found yourself in south padre- here is the only place worth your time and money! Genuinely incredible food and staff.

Our group really enjoyed this restaurant. This was such a nice and classy place, I felt sorry for bombardment on the staff with our group of rowdy, sweaty, underdressed friends lol. But, they graciously accepted us in and were so patient with us and our requests. This is a "scratch kitchen" so they are able to make to order within reason, which was really great! I had the duck confit with poached pear salad and it was excellent!! Then I had the seafood pappardelle pasta, also really good. The drinks were great and the service was excellent! We are thinking of going back for brunch for their $17 bottomless mimosas!!

When I found this spot, I was super excited. We were tired of bar food (which seems to really be the norm in SPI) and I was truly looking for a delicious meal. Our waiter was pretty offputting from the moment we sat down. He informed us of a rather long list of things that they were out of, told us 'there are no shrimp on the island anywhere', then left us to peruse the three things we could choose from. I decided to go with the filet. He asked how I wanted it, and I requested medium. He didn't bring us our food nor did he check on us for quite a while after it came, which was a shame because my steak was super rare and I couldn't eat it. By the time he came to check on us and see if we wanted the single dessert option available, my husband was nearly done with his duck, ans I didn't want to wait another 40 minutes for my meal. For the prices, we sincerely expected good service, and a place capable of serving steaks as ordered. Such a disappointment.
