Fang Yuan Satay 芳園沙爹 (#01-25)

31/July/2025 Had pork & chicken satay ($0.90 each) for dinner, was good! Relatively fast service & owner was friendly too. I would recommend people to try their satay if they are in the vicinity.

Satay was perfect. Meat was tender and full of flavour! It's 90c per stick so it's a little pricey. The peanut sauce was too watery though.

I ordered both chicken and pork. One reason for the 3-star rating is that the chicken came cold, which wasn’t nice because satay is best eaten hot. The pork came warm (not hot), so I think they prepared the chicken first and the pork later. They could have asked me to collect the chicken satay first. Each piece was $0.90

There are 3 satay stalls in this hawker centre and after tasting the chicken satay from all of three, I declare this my favourite! Not just here in TP Lor 5, but compared to the chicken satay from Chomp Chomp and Lau Pa Sat I tasted over the past two years, I honestly think this is the most tasty, tender and juicy chicken satay by far. And at 90 cents per stick, definitely the best value too. The satay is grilled once you place your order and after a short wait the slightly charred (NOT burnt) & succulent dish is ready. The smell of BBQ meat is heavenly. I tried the pork satay here and from the front stall. This one is much more delicious. Public carpark just next to hawker centre. Most stalls here open in the evenings, and this one too from 6-11pm daily. If you take the MRT (redline) it’s only 15 min walk from either Bradley or Toa Payoh, just a nice stroll to digest your food before heading home.

Went on a Saturday night for supper. Ordered chicken, pork satays and ketupat (rice cake). Satays were grilled upon order, had smoky flavour and came piping hot. Diners were given a buzzer upon ordering. Meats were not dried but very tender, well marinated and flavourful. There was also generous servings of cut cucumbers and onions. The savoury peanut sauce was creamy and had umami flavour. As we were seated rather near to the stall, stall owner served us an additional bowl of the sauce when he saw us ‘scrapping off’ the initial bowl.

Been coming here for a few years and agree with an earlier comment about this satay being one of the better ones when comparing with chomp chomp etc. meat is a lot bigger with some fat. Will easily rate this one of the best satays in Singapore.

Tried their most simplest choice, chicken satay and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Chicken meat was tender and fresh and not overly burnt or dried. Peanut sauce was so good you know it’s not factory made. Service was good and uncle was really friendly and cheerful. Support local business guys! This satay stall is way a lot better than the chongpang satay/chicken wing stall a few stalls away from him )which took away a lot of this local business stall. Also arrogant young people at that Chongpang stall and satays was all burnt).
